Winnipeg, rich in culture and history, captivates visitors with its unique blend of cultural richness and modern vibrancy. This dynamic city, known for its friendly locals and diverse neighborhoods, offers experiences suitable for every traveler’s taste. From exploring historic sites that tell tales of its past to enjoying world-class museums and vibrant arts scenes, Winnipeg has something for everyone. The city's hotels provide unique experiences that showcase the best of Winnipeg’s hospitality. Having spent extensive time exploring and staying in various hotels around the city, I’ve come to appreciate the distinct charm and character each one offers. The finest properties here stand out for their exceptional amenities, prime locations and memorable guest experiences. Here’s my pick of the 10 best hotels in Winnipeg.
75 Forks Market Road
Price:$29-547/night
Nestled in a historical part of the city just across from The Forks Market, this hotel blends modern decor with plenty of warmth. The on-site restaurant, Smith—one of the most popular in Winnipeg—serves great locally sourced dishes, and the indulgent weekend brunch menu is not to be missed.
But what stood out the most for me at Inn at the Forks was the spa facilities, which provide a perfect retreat for relaxation. Guestrooms are spacious and comfortable, making for a welcome haven after a busy day exploring the city.
One of the best hotels in Winnipeg, its proximity to other local attractions made discovering the area a breeze. It’s located just steps away from the Canadian Museum for Human Rights as well as the bustling downtown hub, offering guests easy access to Winnipeg’s cultural hotspots.
333 Waterfront Drive
Price:$120-327/night
With its modern and chic design, Mere Hotel is always one of my top picks when I’m visiting Winnipeg. The sleek, minimalist guestrooms are a particular highlight, with thoughtful extra touches like Nespresso coffee machines and walk-in rain showers. Meanwhile, the hotel's prime location along the river is perfect for leisurely walks and enjoying scenic views right from your window.
Located close to many of the city’s top attractions, including the Manitoba Museum, Centennial Concert Hall and trendy restaurants, this is one of the best hotels in Winnipeg to see the sights. For easy exploring across the city, the hotel also offers guests free bicycle rentals, something that I appreciated during my stay.
700 Sterling Lyon Parkway
Price:$130-315/night
Hyatt House Winnipeg-South always offers a truly enjoyable stay thanks to its spacious and well-appointed suites. You’ll feel right at home. The in-suite kitchen was a great addition to my stay, perfect for preparing meals when dining out wasn't on the agenda. The hotel also offers a convenient grocery shopping service.
The living area was comfortable and homely, making it easy to relax after a busy day. The added convenience of a 24-hour fitness center and laundry facilities, plus a varied and delicious complimentary breakfast, made my stay even more enjoyable.
But what I loved most was the hotel's proximity to the Outlet Collection Winnipeg, offering great shopping opportunities just a short walk away. For anyone seeking supreme comfort with the convenience of home-like amenities, Hyatt House Winnipeg-South is an ideal choice.
222 Broadway
Price:$123-1263/night
Staying at The Fort Garry Hotel Spa and Conference center feels like being transported back to an historical era, but with all the comforts of a modern hotel. One of the best hotels in Winnipeg, the property’s opulent design, with its grand staircases and luxurious chandeliers, takes you back to a bygone era of elegance and sophistication.
Within this famous century-old landmark, I found the perfect balance between maintaining my fitness routine at the gym and indulging in the complimentary morning treats of coffee, tea and cookies. The Palm Lounge's breakfast was a particular delight, featuring an array of dishes like made-to-order omelettes and house-made pancakes. The treatments at Ten Spa were also top-notch, providing a rejuvenating escape.
Located centrally near the historic Forks district, it’s a great base for exploring local attractions.
