Pros: Although I was ther for just one night I found the entire experience very confortable. Great accommodations , pleased that they allow pets. Next time I am at the jersey shore I will stay there again

Situated in Asbury Park, this hotel is within a 10-minute walk of Stephen Crane House, Paramount Theater, and Asbury Park Convention Hall. Asbury Amusement Factory and Silverball Museum are also within 15 minutes.
Pros: Must say ... better then I thought. Reminded me of Clevelander back in the day .
Pros: Across the street from the beach, next to the Stone Pony, super comfortable beds, great staff!
Cons: Could be cleaner
From our well-appointed rooms to our poolside tiki huts world-class dance club we are setting the standard for Asbury Park the Empress Hotel has 101 rooms in a glorious ocean setting located across the street from the Atlantic Ocean and adjacent to historic Ocean Grove. Together with the Paradise Nightclub and Tabu Restaurant The Empress is part of one of New Jerseys largest and most exciting entertainment complexes.
Cons: Floors are thin. Was constantly woken up during the middle of the night
Pros: Really enjoyed the nightly live music events in the lobby/bar area! The hotel is also about 3 blocks from the Boardwalk, and a 5 minute drive to downtown Asbury Park, where there are some great little restaurants and bars. Just an excellent location. The rooms have a very "college" vibe, but are bright, homey, and comfortable. You can also order food delivered directly to your room from a local place called JR's, which has a large menu and pretty good food.
Pros: Location was excellent - hotel bar, lounge areas, entertainment options and pool, etc. were great.
Cons: Our room was on the small side and was missing basic things like a coffee maker. I like the modern look, but the room wasn't upscale modern, it felt very ikea modern. So for the week-day rate/deal I got, it was fine, but I wouldn't have wanted to pay any more for the room we had.
Pros: The design of the hotel is beautiful. Fells very west coast and has great access to the beach.
Cons: Rooms are really small and do not have anything like, coffee machine, fridge, or microwave. Also no adjoining rooms in the hotel.
Pros: 1. Location.
4. Friendliness of staff
5. Size of bathroom
6. The rooftop lounge: Gorgeous views over the entire city. It's nice that there is a separate entrance than the hotel to get to the lounge.
Cons: 1. The room decor looked like it was Ikea. Clean lines, but looked cheap.
2. Poor design of shower. Nice big bathroom. I liked the tile. Note that my bathroom had a standup shower, not a tub (I'm not sure of all rooms though). The water from the showerheard must have exceeded the drains ability to drain, because by the time I was done, the towel I placed on the floor was soaked!!! Not moist but soaked. The threshold may not have had enough heights.
3. I was in my room until sometime in afternoon. The cleaning people knocked and said I wasn't ready, but they never came back. Not that I'm particulary smelly so it didn't matter much, but it would have been nice to have come back to a made bed.
The Asbury features a nightclub and a rooftop terrace. After having fun at the outdoor pool, you can grab a bite to eat at the coffee shop/café or unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge. A poolside bar and a seasonal outdoor pool are other highlights, and rooms offer up nice touches like rainfall showerheads and pillowtop beds with premium linens.
Pros: Pleasant Staff, nice facility, well maintained courtyard area with grill.
Cons: Pool area not managed well. No towels, did not tidy up the area.

Cons: extremely noisy and intrusive housekeeping staff at all hours.
Pros: The location is excellent. The riverside view is outstanding. The staff is friendly, helpful and available. This is a small hotel, perfect for a quick get-away.
Cons: Walls are paper-thin.
Pros: Friendly staff. Large rooms with great view.
Cons: Walls must be thin and doors slam shut which woke me up at 3:00am!
A great choice for a stay in Red Bank, The Oyster Point Hotel features a marina. Guests can visit the 24-hour fitness center for a workout or grab a bite to eat at Pearl, which serves American cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There's also a bar/lounge, and rooms offer flat-screen TVs and room service.
Cons: I did not like that the restaurant did not offer staple foods such as hot oatmeal for breakfast. For people allergic to milk we felt the restaurant should offer a substitute such as Almond or soya milk. We are ready to pay extra for this choice.
Pros: Location was where I needed to be, bar was expensive as was the room. Weddings took up most of the seating.
Cons: Our "Garden View" room had no elevator service, 3 flights of stairs, smelled like mildew, was extremely small and our "view" consisted of a rusty crane and concrete. We asked for a change of room immediately, and were denied. We were charged 80% for our room when we left that same night (my wife REFUSED to stay in this dungeon), we were compelled to call relatives for lodging on River Road, where we should have gone in the first place. Amy, the Manager said "she would look into it". Will post another review if rectified.
Pros: The bed was comfortable, the staff was eager to be helpful, and the bar was a great time. I look forward to our next stay there!
Pros: The Staff was very helpful and friendly
Cons: Its a very old building. We had a leak in our room and had to change rooms at 1:30 am. Then in the next room we were in, the toilet clogged. I was just surprise how much the hotel cost per night when considering those factors.

Pros: The hotel staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean. Breakfast was very good and convenient, something for everyone.
Cons: Pool was way over chlorinated. Cleaning person removed our dirty towels and took out trash but did not make beds or give us new towels.
Pros: Our stay was fabulous and I can honestly attribute that to the staff. Everyone was so accommodating, and dedicated to making our stay wonderful. We used the facility for wedding prep , and for me and my husband to spend the night after the wedding. Knowing about the occasion the hotel went above and beyond.

Pros: All the staff was great and super friendly. The room was clean and very comfortable. The hotel was very close to several breweries and Asbury Park Beach. My partner and I had a great time and would definitely stay there again.
Cons: Nothing, everything was great.
Pros: The location
Cons: The room was not as clean as it should have been there was mold in the tub the bathroom floor was dirty and there were undergarments left from the previous occupants
Pros: Good Value for a Saturday night stay. Convenient to everything and overall a GREAT HOTEL ! Would stay there again in a heartbeat ! Keep up the good work ! Hotel Employee
Pros: Location, good restaurant and service.
Pros: Staff wonderful during snowstorm.
Cons: Elevator under repair. Was not notified at time of booking.
Pros: Great experience. Didnt really know what to expect since this was my first time setting up a weekend away for myself and one other friend. But overall I thought the hotel was very clean and very welcoming. Staff was great! I will be back next year,
Cons: Only complaint is the the sign out front could have been a little bigger. we drove by it a couple of times not realizing it was the hotel. Then when we walked in the gentleman at the desk pointed to the sign but it was blocked by a tree
Pros: Geat staff wih seemless check-in.
Pros: Convenient, clean with a great staff.
Pros: very clean, got the double I requested at check in, Fan in bathroom (hard to find those now.) Staff very nice. comfortable bed, lots of pillows. Temperature was just right; never needed to adjust.
Cons: food at Courtyards is so overpriced. We went to Dunkin for breakfast. :) Had to jump up to the bed....very high. Being picky....why do they not have teabags for the coffee maker. Cheap & easy to add to the pack.
Pros: Great location, clean.
Cons: The in-room coffee was undrinkable. A carafe of free coffee in the common area would have been greatly appreciated. Since there was none, we had to purchase Starbucks, which we do not enjoy.
Pros: It was located near where I needed to be during the day.
Cons: The phone system didn't work. The hotel staff knew it didn't work, but did not tell me until checkout. I missed several calls. The front desk did not tell callers the system didn't work.
Cons: Small room, terrible smell, poor water pressure, clogged bathtub drain.

Pros: Room was available when we arrived, clean and comfortable
Cons: Decor needs updating including bed and heating system
Pros: I loved the welcome chocolate chip cookies. That was absolutely such a wonderful thank you for staying at our hotel. Everyone was very courteous and there was a wedding party staying there also. Definitely a wonderful experience and will definitely stay again! Kaelynn was super accommodating to my parents whom both walk with canes! Their room was close to the elevator as I requested. Just a welcoming staff!
Pros: Very clean, 15 min drive to the beach, nice pool, right off the highway.
Cons: All outside/back/side doors leading into the hotel are open at all times of the day and night and where they have it set to be keycard access only its always unlocked and open anyone can walk in, which made me a little nervous.
Pros: Staff was friendly and quiet hotel

Pros: The staff was great and accommodating. Made me feel at home while away from home
Pros: I like their dining room. It was open space and properly lit. The breakfast buffet has a good variety of food. The pool was great when we visited. I like that it has little kitchen and small sitting room.
Cons: Carpet in the bathroom smelled like urine and musty. Very rare we see carpet in the bathroom in other hotels. Not good for people who has allergy.
Pros: It was spacious. I liked the very quick checkin Nd delicious breakfast.
Cons: I booked a room with a separate bedroom and I got a Murphy bed instead.
Pros: First service was nice.
Cons: Shower did not work
Pros: Country setting.
Cons: Rooms are falling apart. Breakfast is not nearly as good as other residents Ins that I have been at. Location is not pretty.

Pros: Nothing at all not sure why you had this hotel under 3.5 star cuz the hotel was under construction we were unable to use there pool and everything was broken from the faucet to the shower and our sheets looked as if they were used I didn't complain cuz
Cons: Continuation I did not want to ruin my mini road trip with my family do I wanted to let u know not to rate this a 3.5 star there was a water shirt down from 2-4 the noise from the construction was crazy I was truly disappointed
Pros: the staff were great!
Pros: They are in the process of renovating the hotel and I am sure it will be all 10's when they are done. Hotel Employee at check in was wonderful, great personality and very helpful. Made our family feel special.
Pros: The breakfast in the lounge in the 6th. Floor.
Cons: The windows words out side were old and bothered the view to the out side.
Pros: Front office attendant, was wonderful. Courteous, professional and very helpful. He is an asset to the property.
Cons: Breakfast very expensive. Complimentary continental breakfast would add great value to the property. Room attendant knocking on the door prior to 8 am was not welcomed!!!
Pros: Staff was helpful and tried to correct problems.with dirty bedding in room. Breakfast food and staff were very good.
Cons: Room had a blanket with bloidstain at the bottom. Also pool was closed for a railing to be installed when we wanted to use it in the afternoon. Our room smelled of smoke but improved when air was turned on. Hallway and room carpets were shabby.
Cons: No continental breakfast.
Cons: Tv reception was poor due to them only having satellite. I was charged an extra 5 dollars and I'm not sure why. I didn't use or purchase anything.
Pros: The location is close to the beach and many other things.
Cons: When you first come up to the hotel it looks so dirty that the outside needs to be power washed. I had to switch rooms because the first one was missing a pipe under the sink with a bucket catching water and the second one wouldn't drain. worst hotel.
Cons: carpet was dirty

Pros: After stepping into the room, I immediately checked the bed to see if the sheets were changed / crease free, and they were, though I was afraid to touch the blanket. The TV works well. Refrigerator in room.
Cons: The room has a hardwood floor, the tub has a dirt ring around it, the lampshades are cracked and dusty, and the bed makes A LOT of noise. I was appalled to see a hotel room with a hardwood floor. The floor becomes very cold at night. After turning all three lamps on, the room lighting was still very dim. If it wasn't for the bright TV coupled with the lamps it would have been difficult to see particular items in the room. The hallway had a strange subtle smell to it. The water pressure in the tub was decent, except both the water in the tub and bathroom sink took a while to empty. The night front desk staff member looked like he was straight out of prison. I've never stayed at hotel where I've been forced to sign a contract.
Cons: The room smelled mildewy.
Cons: The rooms smells humid, we checked 3 before deciding on the least smeally one.
Cons: Got bit by something. Probably a bed bug
Pros: Room was wonderful and very clean. Staff at the front desk were extra friendly.
Pros: The price
Cons: Was a little noisy at night. Sounded like the plumbing
Pros: -Bed and pillows were most likely the most comfortable I have ever slept on.
-Staff was super friendly
-Fridge and microwave in the room
-Free Breakfast everyday
-Nice flat-screen TV
Cons: -Lack of TV channels unless you like HSN or foreign TV
-Would have liked some more selections for breakfast but hey it was free can't beat that.
-Pool and hot tub should be open later.
Pros: Good hotel, I'll stay there again.
Cons: Pool is closed too early and breakfast could be little bit longer too

Pros: The proximity to Asbury Park beach and the board walk was unmatched! Excellent location for beach days and date night! The 3 restaurants we went to were amazing-- Kate Marie's, Stella Marina, and Robinson Ale House.
The room was big enough for the two of us. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean. I would return for a quick trip.
Cons: The hotel had some "modern" updates in the main common areas, but there needs to be more renovations throughout the hotel.
The bathroom door barely closed...there were pieces of the wall that needed to be replastered and painted. They gave basic updates to the carpet, TV, and beds, but the closets and bathrooms were left wanting.
Cons: Tv was broken, hair dryer Dodd not wor, room was never cleaned and we stayed 3 days. The hotel is over priced.
Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: Was shocked to see how cheap and broken down so much of the hotel is (e.g., the elevator floor is uneven, the walls on our floor had poorly covered holes in the wall, the room did not have a mini fridge, the television was so pixelated it was uncomfortable to watch, etc).
Pros: We were given free parking to compensate for the fact that our room was not ready upon our arrival.
Cons: The hotel restaurant was not available during our stay, which was a huge disappointment. The handles on the dresser were broken, the volume button on the iHome was broken, and there was some sort of water damage to the ceiling. There was also a round of housekeeping where some trash was not removed.
Pros: The staff couldn't have been nicer. The lobby and the building itself is absolutely gorgeous. The location of the hotel is prime for going to the boardwalk or the nearby venues such as the Stone Pony. The pool was a really nice area in which to relax.
Cons: The rooms were nice but for $300+ a night (the going rate for a summer weekend), I would have expected it to be nicer. The room was small, which was expected, but it seems the room hasn't been updated in several years. The bathroom is a bit strange - at least ours was. The sink was super shallow and the shower doesn't have a curtain or door. It has a glass panel that doesn't fully prevent the water from spraying onto the bathroom floor. Not the worst hotel room I've stayed in but not the best one for the price paid.
Pros: the people that work at the hotel was very nice, polite and friendly
the maid that clean my room was very sweet, polite and respect woman because i gave her a tip and she was happy
Cons: the breakfast was terrible
the chair of the pool a lot of them are broke and no comfortable
at night people screaming and very noise,i call the security to let them know
i ask for ocean view but the room only had very little ocean view a building was block the view because i was on the 4 floor,i pay the ocean view and i feel i loss my money because the view was horrible
Pros: Great location! Right across from the beach and walking distance to everything. Staff was friendly - everyone smiled and said hello. Easy and quick check in process.
Cons: S L O W elevators!
Cons: No parking available for my car.
Bed was incredibly uncomfortable.
No holder for the toilet paper, we had to leave it on the floor in the bathroom.
TV reception was poor.
TV was not an HD TV which one would think was standard in 2016, especially at a net rate of $250/night for a beach hotel.
Handle on chest of drawers was broken couldn't use the second drawer. None of the drawers were on their tracks. Sliding closet doors were off the track.
Touted as a dog friendly hotel, the cleaning crew was not obligated to clean the room if the dog was in the room at the time they arrived.
Pros: The ocean view was so relaxing. Hotel was quiet, but going off season, that's to be expected. Bed comfortable, staff helpful and nice.
Cons: Hot water took over ten minutes to go on. Windows drafty and hotel is old. They can use some updates.
Had some issues checking in that annoyed me but overall it was ok.
Pros: right across from the beach
Cons: No hot water in the morning.
Pros: The outside of the hotel looks better than the inside of the hotel. The hotel is located in a quieter section of the boardwalk.
Cons: I received a text message at 2 o'clock telling me my room is ready, when I arrived at 6 o'clock my room was not ready. They upgraded me to some sort of better room however it was disgusting! Holes in the couch, dirty windows and Doors that were falling off the hinges. The valet boys do not help with the bags. They only allow you to keep your car until 12 o'clock for an additional $20 fee
Historic hotel, located on the beach, in the center of Asbury Park, on the famous NJ Shore. 236 stylish rooms, most of which face either the ocean or our beautiful city. Outdoor pool, tiki bar, restaurant, fitness center, and 30,000 square feet of event spaceParking is limited space on first come first served basis, 1Car per room$10 per night in the off season ( Subject to change when there are large events in Asbury )$35 per night in the Peak season Memorial Day WeekendSeptember 30th 2017
Pros: They room was really nice and staff was friendly. Only thing I didn't like was they put the tipping envelope in my bag that I left open in my room on the dresser. I thought it was unprofessional to put it in my spot. On the bed would have been better. So after that we just left the do not disturb sign the rest of our stay.
Pros: Room was nice and up to date. Only stayed 1 night
Cons: I was told it was only 10 min from the beach. It's much further
Pros: Staff was very nice.
Cons: The cheese
Cons: Room was clean great location quiet
Cons: Got a crank call at 11pm that there might be bed bugs on our floor and to strip the beds in the morning and put the sheets in the hall for the maid. Pretty ridiculous since there were no halls just an outside walkway. Needless to say I never got back to sleep, considered leaving then and just driving home. Demanded a refund the next morning and was offered two 15% off vouchers on my next stay. As if I would ever stay there again. Granted it was a prank, but we won't be back.
Pros: The hotel room was clean and didn't smell like smoke and both the night staff and morning staff were extremely friendly and courteous. I would recommend this place to anyone and I will definitley stay here again!

Cons: The staff was not very helpful. I reserved a king non-smoking room and when I arrived at 7pm, they tried giving me a king smoking room. I showed them my reservation confirmation and they tried blaming it on the reservation site. They gave away all the king non-smoking rooms and I was DOWNGRADED to a queen room.
In addition, the room was gross. For example, carpet was sticky and the pillows were dingy.
Cons: Charged again for room even though online reservation had already charged.
Pros: Only thing we like was that there was available room for us at the time we needed when we traveled to Jersey.
Cons: We checked in early and
our room wasn't ready yet. When we returned 6hours later we found our room had not been cleaned. We were moved to another room. When we went to turn in to sleep, we realized that the bed sheets were damp and had a rip in it to. The bathroom fan did not work either. My wife and I were very disappointed. For the money we played it was not worth the headaches we went through. We come to Jersey often to visit and we will not stay at this hotel anymore.

Pros: Room was really dirty staff was super rude and unprofessional would never stay there again
Cons: I didn't like anything
Pros: The front desk staff was as helpful as they could be.
Cons: The place was filthy! It smelled and the bedding and towels had stains. There were lipstick marks on the pillows and yellow stains on the towels. The floor was so dirty it stained our feet so we could not walk around without slippers on. The pictures made it look a lot more updated then it was.
Pros: The motel staff as tremendous. Checking in was painless. Then on of our party found their room was dirty- linens, bathroom, and floor. When inspecting the bed, they found shed skins, poop, and even a live bedbug. They refused to stay there. The Super 8 staff gave them an immediate refund.
Cons: Bathroom doors seemed to universally damaged
Pros: Price would have been fair for location
Cons: Rooms were dirty and there was bed bug sign and live bugs in at least 2 of the rooms our group reserved. There was hole in our wall that looked liked an axe head. Linens had not been changed and were gross. We left and went somewhere else
Cons: Wifi doesn't connect at rear second floor. We were room 226.
Pros: The beds were comfortable and the shower had great pressure.
Cons: Our room was not cleaned at all upon arrival. The carpet had multiple stains, ceiling tiles missing. The door to the bathroom had been damaged, as if someone had punched a hole through it. The shower did not drain.
Cons: I'll never stay at this motel again, they price gouged due to the holiday weekend, just very poor business pratice.
Cons: Where to begin! How about, no extra tp in bathroom, had to go to the desk to ask, but they were out
