Everything was wonderful
Lobby is elaborate - beautiful.
Hotel met and exceeded expectations.
Friendly, accommodating staff.
The location. I had business in Ann Arbor and Plymouth, so the location makes it easy to get to either.
The rooms are in need of updating, especially the bathrooms. Based on the condition of the bathroom 3 1/2 stars is a generous rating. The floor tiles were cracked, the tub did not drain properly and the shower head was just adequate.
The staff lost control of this hotel to a large group of elementary and junior high school aged hockey players. Total bedlam with dozens of kids racing the hallways, stairwells and parking lots. Security guards were useless, front desk was clueless.
Location and service
Value & Location
The bathroom ventilation is non existent
I love this place, the view of the golf course from my room is so serene. Great mattresses and great staff !!!
Great room. Peaceful.
Dinner was very disappointing. No one checked on me after my meal arrived. There was an issue with the brisket. When I reported the issue, no acknowledgement was made other than 'I'll tell them.'
The ice machine was old and dispensed slowly . There was no breakfast(continental or otherwise).
I appreciated DirecTV access and the crisp white bed linens. Although I can't say the staff went above and beyond to make my stay great, the two that I encountered were friendly and pleasant.
My guestroom and some of the common areas need some maintenance. For example, the toilet paper holder in the bathroom was falling off, with drywall exposed, and the ceiling looked a little scary. The hallways are very outdated.
Everything. I love this place!
I liked the helpful staff and the coffee shop in the lobby.
It looked like any other motor inn when you got padt the lobby.
Beds and location
Did not move me to the 8th floor after I was able to provide them with my 'Gold' status membership with Marriott. Had to ask for the 8th floor access to be added to my key. Disappointed in from desk staff on this visit. Visit there 5-6x a yr.
It took 10 minutes for the one person in front of us to check-in with the one person at the front desk, no one else came out from the office to help...way too long. Asked for a quuite room away from the elevator...she assured us we were....room was right
beautiful lobby and lots of common areas.
I was given a room by the elevator and it was very noisy. Since I arrived late at night, by the time I had settled in and heard the elevator noise, it was too late and I was too tired to address it with the staff.
close the my business needs in ann arbor, MI
the noise level in the rooms, i could literally hear the conversation of others in the room next to me
The manager and staff were very unprofessional during electricity black out, which forced us to check out without preparation for a day. I was quite embarrassed with their irresponsible attitude. Instead of sincere apology, they keep blaming somethingelse
Nice sized room. Given the size, would have liked another chair and ottoman.
LOUD wedding party. Tent right below our window played techno music until midnight, at which point guests came in and made lots of noise in the hallways. Pretty annoying given that we were there so my husband could work uninterrupted on his dissertation.
Nicest hotel in Ypsilanti, lobby/common areas decorated well, VERY friendly and helpful staff!
Wedding guests at the bar were extremely loud and wild, bedding was so old that the flat sheet had pilling on the entire center, where you could not help but touch it, room decor was very outdated in the handicap-accessible room, breakfast was sub-par.
very good hotel, staff, etc for pricepoint. Rooms were spacious and the wifi reception in our room was excellent (and free).
housekeeping staff didn't make up the room until late afternoon (~ 4 pm). Also, rooms were very noisy. There were several conferences and wedding parties, etc. Despite being at the far end of the wing, we had a lot of noise each of the nights we stayed
It was located on a lake.
No continental breakfast.
The room and the grounds were very nice
Our room was behind the elevator. Starting at 5 AM, people started blocking the elevator to hold it open. This caused intermittent buzzing. At one point the elevator was held open for 12 minutes. I contacted the front desk and the noise stopped
Open areas for relaxing.
The hotel was filled with families attending hockey tournaments. The bar/ restuarant area could not handle these numbers.
The restaurant was not bad.
Yes, the hallways are very narrow and I felt closed in. I asked the front desk for a note pad to takes some notes on and the had nothing. They did direct me to the local office supply store. Overall I was very disappointed and would not stay there again.
The hotel has tied up an additional--- in funds on my credit card. This is utterly ridiculous and a huge inconvenience. The hotel is unresponsive to my requests to sort this out. Do not stay at this hotel unless you enjoy dealing with the nightmare of billing disputes. As of yet, there has been no resolution to this. I may just be paying---- total for a one night stay in Ypsilanti that was only supposed to cost--- plus tax! Thanks for nothing priceline!
Paid thru priceline, got charge again at checkin (---) without being told, got charge another fee at checkout ($81), wasn't told about it either. Noticed on credit statement. Hotel apologized and said they would take care of it, I asked for a email confirmation letter and they said no problem. A few days later no email, no reimbursement, After several calls, finally $81 returned but not the ---. Still today, they have not settled up. But keep promising to do so.
Lobby and bar
Lack of hot water for shower, outdated rooms, cold pool
The bed was comfortable.
The room was not at all modern -- colors and decor very drab. The heater looked liked it hadn't been updated since the 1980s, and either blew 'hot' air, or 'cold' air all night -- there was no middle ground. Without the heater on, the room was frigid.
When checking in the clerk noticed we reserved from priceline, and proceeded to give us the least appealing room available, overlooking parking when there was plenty of better rooms, but since we didnt pay full rate they were holding those rooms for other
Nice well kept room.
whomever took the reservation for rest of swim team gave us rooms with 1 bed for 4 girls. Told us we had right rooms on phone but when we got there, they reniged and said that it was not garaunteed. What you say on the phone should be garaunteed.
Staff was friendly
Bath tub didn't drain. Fridge in room didn't work.
Nothing. This hotel is a party hotel. I went for business, I did not sleep because their were two weddings. People partied all night long. I had to leave in the middle of the night because it was so loud.
This hotel was awful. People go to this hotel to party. I had to leave in the middle of the night because I could not sleep. I was moved to a different room and it did not help. No manager was available and the staff could not control the yelling.
Staff was very friendly. The hotel was clean and accommodations were appropriate for star level.
We were put on a floor with a kids hockey team that was yelling and stomping down the hallway late at night and early in the morning. Had to call front desk twice to take care of screaming neighboring couple that were arguing until 1am.
Checked in and given a room but were surprised when we opened our door and someone was already there. Given a new room on the 4th floor in the 'excuse our mess construction area'. It's hard to relax in a room when you know it's possible someone could walk in or when there's construction across the hall!
Beautiful veiws of Lake Ford and a golf couse, the location is very attractive. The rooms are average with very soft beds and fairly quiet a/c system. Long wait in the restaurant in the lobby for dinner, ordered a cheesburger and waited over 30 minutes for it and the fry's were cold. There is an indoor pool & jacuzzi, I didn't have a chance to use them but they looked very nice. Room was very quiet all night.
We love this hotel. We have stayed there a few times while visiting our son in Yipisilanti. We occasionally stay in a hotel so that our grandchildren can come over and enjoy the pool. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the brunch at the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We would reccomend this hotel to friends. The room was comfortable and clean.
Perhaps it's just a sign of the times, but they could not have run this place on more of a shoestring. One call gets you everything you need...cause only one person is on staff. to take rooms service orders, bring towels, lightbulbs, you name it. The restaurant closes at 2pm on Sat, noon on Sunday, never to reopen (the 800# didn't kow this). You can get dinner in their ''upscale restaurant'' (read..LOBBY BAR). Personally, I would not have chosen a full service hotel if I had known my only choice to feed my kids for dinner was in the bar. Want luggage assistance? We asked for it upon check-in, but was told there was none. A MARRIOTT WITH NO BELL STAFF??? Since when?? I made a living in the hotel biz before being a stay at home mom, from Holiday Inn's to Hiltons, to Westins and Omni's. Frankly, I wish we had stayed at a Limited Service Property. Full service, high price..high expectations. Limited service, lower price, low expectations. The good news? MOST of the staff were very nice, if not overworked, and it did show that they were overworked. The hotel was not very clean, probably they cut down in staff there as well.
We booked Sat and Sun and ended up leaving after Sat night. Beds were EXTREMELY uncomfortable and hallways very noisy all night. We didn't get any rest and were exhausted the next day. It was a very nice and clean hotel. The staff was friendly and prices were ok. I would probably not stay there again specifically due to the noise and lack of comfort in the room. We are still trying to get a refund for the second night.
Seriously. If you have ever been to the Marriott Ann Arbor/ Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest you probably have noticed in recent years that it has been a bit out of date....Until now. Recent TOTAL renovation of the hotel/guest rooms/restaurant has made this hotel first class in the area. It also seems as though the staff has been renovated as well. Whether I was leaving the hotel, coming into the hotel, visiting the restaurant, etc I was ALWAYS greeted friendly by the staff/bell boys/front desk and bartenders. I haven't been back to metro Detroit in a few years and my wife and I were surprised of how nice the hotel was. \n\nRoom cleanliness was nice. The large LCD TV in the room made movie watching a pleasure. Our view of Ford Lake and the golf course was a nice sight to wake up in the morning to. The bed, pillows and comforter I wanted to take home with us. It was so comfortable we had to order breakfast in bed.\n\nRoom Service was excellent. Our breakfast arrived promptly and the service personnel was respectful enough to call ahead of time to let us know that our breakfast was ready to be delivered. \n\nRestaurant was also excellent. We didn't have a chance to have a full dinner, however the calamari and crab cake appetizers were prepared elegantly. Coffee was fresh and my wife's martini was prepared excellently. \n\nI would give this hotel high rankings and would stay here again. Marriott's high standards are reflected throughout this hotel from the parking lot to the hotel room.
