Everything was ok including breakfast
Good breakfast, daily towel change, friendly staff, beautiful patio with swing, calm by the pool
at night, when the window is open, you can hear the noise from the road
The room was very spacious and we had fresh towels every morning. The bed was two singles pushed together but made for a very comfy sleep. There's plenty of storage space. Breakfast room is lovely and bright and the coffee and cakes were good. Staff were very attentive, friendly, and the hotel has a lovely family-run feel to it. We spent 7 nights there and felt like we were part of the family. I think the dinner at the hotel is one of the best meals you'll have in the town - all 4 courses and bread for 16 EUR is excellent value, and the antipasti in particular is delicious. Location-wise, it's a 5 minute walk from the centre of the little town and seafront, so it's very central. Furthermore, it's a good base if you want to visit Mount Etna, Taormina and the coastal areas of the south east.
Breakfast was very sugar-heavy in terms of options. It's an Italian thing to have cake and biscuits on offer, but there was very little in terms of savoury to balance this. I never touched the scrambled eggs as they always looked a bit grey and yucky, and the only other savoury stuff was partially grilled tomatoes, salami, cheese and hard-boiled eggs. It's a shame there are no poolside toilets, so you have to get dressed and walk through reception to use the facilities there (or do it in your swimwear/towel, of course!) You can't ignore the fact that the hotel is just off a main road, and even the road leading up to it goes right past the pool area, so it's hard to block out the sound (everyone drives in Italy, so the traffic is pretty constant). You barely notice it in the rooms though when the balcony doors are closed, at least we didn't and we were pool and sea facing. Also, the pool is next to the little car park so we found quite a few people would walk through the pool area after parking up to attend a meeting in their meeting room there, so this meant the poolside is not really a place you'd want to hang out in all holiday.
Breakfst and location great. Very friendly and accomodting staff. Extremely clean!
