Airolo Hotels

We have stayed here twice now, en route to Italy. The hotel is not far from the motorway but feels remote in a pretty mountain village. The staff are always charming and anxious to please.

Great service, great views, and some of the best food we've ever had! After an epic day cycling through some high passes in freezing blizzards, this guest house was a godsend. Seriously, the restaurant was superb with great views of the mountains, and subtle flavours that are difficult to find these days. Delicious! We took the spa room, and though it didn't have a view it was clean and comfortable with a nice big jacuzzi that wasn't too noisy in its operation, and very soothing on our tired legs. The buffet breakfast was a simple continental affair with several types of bread, cereal, fruit, cold meats and cheese, and boiled eggs. All in all a beautiful little guest house with the restaurant being the highlight.

Very close to train station, but room was not noisy. Large size room and bathroom.

Staff have limited or no English

Ideal location at bottom of Gotthard Pass. Directly opposite the station.

Hotel was a bit utilitarian and with laminate floors throughout was very noisy. The disco attached to the hotel played loud music that reverberated through the room until 3am. Inconsiderate and noisy guests returning to rooms after the disco kept us awake until 4am.

Easy access from the motorway.

No character, no atmosphere, very much a quick overnight stopover, up&away place.

excellent hotel

We have visited this hotel on a number of occasions and always been very satisfied. Farticular strengths is the high standard cuisine and restaurant service as well as the comfort of the rooms. Above all there always a most friendly welcome.

It was just fair. The location suited our needs as it was close to St. Gotthard's Pass and other areas we were exploring on our motorcycles. The parking for the bikes was ok and that was important. There were few places to eat close by. The hotel food was overly expensive for the setting, area, etc. So, we chose to eat at a pizzeria nearby, which was excellent. The rooms were adequate, but old. Good enough for a one night stay.
