The room was lovely and clean and not outdated like some of the other places I've stayed, The staff were friendly and accommodating to my requests. Almost everything. All good, very helpful staff. Great comfortable King type bed. Rooms are clean & comfy. Smoking area at end of car park. Clean & fresh rooms & reasonably quiet location given it is in the main part of Albury. What are the cons of staying at Commodore Motor Inn Albury?
Little water pressure in shower. The bed was very hard. Ensuite needs updating - but was functional. The shower was a bit small for our liking. Being a big person it was a bit squashy. As we had a downstairs room the people above us with children sounded like a heard of elephants rampaging till midnight. I expected a lounge as that is what was listed and booked for a five night stay but didn't get one. No fans in bathroom and you had to climb into a tiled box to shower. Not quite enough parks for all guests cars. TV remote is not working properly. The wires sticking out of the floor in the carpet where in meets the tiled zone near the bathroom. Ouch. General uneven floor was off putting. The decor was dated & looked nothing like the photos on the website for that motel. Many things needed fixing like the leaking taps in the bathroom & the noisy shower. The toilet had not been cleaned so we had to move rooms. There was hair from previous guests clogging the shower drain…disgusting The shower head was broken and kept falling down. The family room was spacious and comfortable for 3 adults and 1 child. The outside of the hotel looks old but the rooms are more decent. We had a comfortable stay. They billed me 3 times by accident and I only realised when I was checking my bank statement for something else. For me is very good. It's not the first time that my daughter and i spend sometime in Comodore Motel. No exhaust fan in bathroom no information folder. The only downside was, I could hear the train station I think, it was going off pretty regularly, if it wasn't that something was loud and dinging, woke me up a few times.. Staff was very rude. Toilet seat didnt fit the toilet bowl, uncomfortable to use but as I was mostly at conference, not a drama worth reporting. Old fashioned step over shower, stairs a bit steep and awkward. Was just unfortunate that a visitor from the previous night had been very sick in the double room. They had cleaned the room and opened the window, but the smell was just awful and made us feel sick - was still the same the next morning and so one of us ended up sleeping on the couch. We would have appreciated a discount or being allocated another room given the circumstances. Lacked a little bit of attention to detail in room. Not much toilet paper on the roll. No hand towel. Large gap under the front door with wind blowing. Old room.. bathroom awful. Had to step over barrier to get in shower. Requested ground floor for mobility reasons when booking one month before and this was confirmed by staff at Commodore. On arrival given upstairs room due to “ glitch in system”. People working in the lane outside my bathroom til late at night! It’s noisy when there is something on at the club next door and it’s full of Gen Zs who have no consideration for anyone else in the building other than themselves. The first lady receptionist was abrupt on the telephone. Travelled in an EV - the two nearest charging stations in Albury were out of order. Would be great if Motels offered a paid option for plugging a travel cable in. Very small shower.
