Position and staff helpfulness
Staff, design... i liked everything! Everything was perfect.
Good atmosphere and very nicely presented. Very friendly staff.
high quality rooms and general facilities poor breakfast (cold, hot food) and expensive. Hard unyieding bed.
quiet and relaxing unfortunately I was ill for part of my stay so was unable to enjoy the full experience
The hotel is beautiful and the spa was relaxing. Front desk is friendly and helpful. Location was great, across from the water and walking distance into town. The attention to detail in the pool area needs improvement. It was not busy and not used much since it was off season, however, during our 3 day stay empty glasses and bottles lying on the ground by the pool were never once picked up, nor was the concrete flooring around the pool swept or hosed off so your feet got full or grit if you walked barefoot to the pool. This is not acceptable at a 5 star resort. Also seemed odd that you had to walk upstairs to reception to obtain a pool towel.
Nice, large room with a comfterble feeling. Nice ,helpfull staff. Beautiful surondings A little bit away from the centrum
Absolute luxury. Rooms, service and location all top class.
It's a very beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff, who spoke English, so it was easy to communicate with them. I would like to have seen the brunch last a little bit longer. They closed it off at 10:30 and I'm used to brunches in the states going much longer.
The Staff and Hotel were both Fantastic. Very good service, Friendly staff, Very Good Piano Players I really enjoyed the stay and would return.
Gorgeous bathroom; fantastic buffet breakfast, great staff unheated outdoor pool, indoor pool not available to hotel guests
very high standard for the service. Location is good but very close to a construction area and therefore quite noisy. Great breakfast some services were missing: 1) gym. To use the gym you should undergo a medical visit by a Portugues doctor. In addition the Gym was not in-house 2) bycicles. A popular way of visiting the cost of Cascais is the bycicle. The hotel should provide some for the guests.
Everything is very nice, staff very helpful. Roadworks outside but this is only temporary. Sometimes you have to wait too long for taxe but this is not the fault of the hotel. Breakfast is good but scrambled eggs are powered egg not real ones.
3 main things: 1) the bathroom! I want one :) 2) the design of the hotel. Even though it was on a busy road, the rooms look on to the ocean, and you can't tell. 3) beautiful facilities. I was in a conference and did not leave the hotel for 3 days. I've been stuck in a hotel before, and I could only wish that they were all like the Miragem.
The most beautiful of hotels. Attention to detail extraordinary. Very relaxing with a beautiful pool area. Food was excellent and the staff were exceptional. The walk from the hotel to the village involved crossing a very busy duel carriagsway. This would not normally be the case but their is a large construction project taking place next door.
Premium modern 5 star hotel overlooking the sea with our own balcony!! Exceptional buffet breakfast. Reasonably priced 5 star dining with excellent attentive serving staff. the free wi-fi internet connection only limited to public area and slow connection.
I liked that fact that we were made very welcome and the staff were very friendly yet not over powering. yes, that we had only 4 nights in the hotel and we could have stayed longer.
Hotel Cascais Miragem was everything I was after - fantastic location, wonderful views and professional, helpful and efficient staff. Only a short walk to main centre, provided guests the flexibility of eating at the many local restaurants or enjoying the wonderful facilities of the hotel. The transfer from airport was a short distance by taxi which was perfect for a short break. The outdoor pool was a key bonus with wonderful views of the coast. The key differentiator with Hotel Cascais Miragem was the outstanding service provided to get guests. A wonderful option for business events and something worth considering. Definitely back next year- thank you for a wonderful stay! N/A
Good atmosphere, central location, value for money Lack of ancillary games facilities e.g. table tennis, tennis etc.
The sitaution of the hotel The queues for a breakfast table.
Well appointed with comfortable room, good standard of service. Reception Staff particularly helpful, as indeed were all the staff in the dining room and the pool bar A little short on car parking space
Enormously large rooms; modern interior; perfect quisine
The breakfast was excellent We found the hotel rather soulless, lacking in warmth and character. The access to the hotel was difficult to find when arriving and there was only one route to Cascais when walking. We found this rather long winded
Nice pool area The beds were not good
Location suggests privacy and quiet Noise. On three nights, Fri ,Sat ,Sun loud music from adjoining premises interfered with sleep. Hotel management were resigned to situation and were not helpful.
The hotel is suituated in an ideal location with staff that are excellent. My wife is a coeliac and without any special request the staff we able to get gluten free bread and ceral without any fuss which is usually a major problem when staying in hotels. No complaints
Our room stunk of smoke!! Everywhere you went especially when yoiu were eating there was people smoking in your face! Great apart from that.
The breakfast All services were very good but the location was next to a beer garden. This apparantly had a licence to play loud music until 1:30 am even on a Sunday morning. With a long journey the following day i needed a good nights sleep but with the room vibrating, this was impossible and made even worse when the music finished as some of the hotel guests had obviously been there and continued to laugh loudly until 03:30am.On any holiday, a good nights sleep is of paramount importance and it is for this reason that I would never recommend this hotel to anyone until they can get the music licence cancelled or drastically reduced.
Room had an amazing sea view
indoor en outdoors pool, excellent breakfast buffet. Centrally located for excursions to Sintra and Lisboa. The address of the hotel that booking.com provided turned out to be incorrect. For those with GPS, it should be: Rua Mato da Mina no. 9 in Sintra.
Relaxing enviroment, nice views to Sintra and friendly staff. Too crowded. The pool and dining room could not cope with the nunbers. No sunbeds left and had to que to get breakfast. Also could not have dinner as it was booked by other residents - the dining room is too small.
The reception staff were very helpful. The indoor pool and facilities were good. Room was clean and shower was great. The buffet only menus with no warning were a shock. No other restaraunts nearby without driving.
The area is very quiet and relaxing plus the staff is really helpful.
Needed a car as too remote
My experience was that hotel and staff was family (children) friendly and tolerant. My two boys loved it which was exactly what I'd hoped for.
The staff were very helpful and all spoke very good english. Anything you wanted they were happy to assist with...they gave us everything from booking a table at a restaurant, maps and specific directions and phone numbers and contacts if we got lost! The hotal was beautiful! no, i can't think of anything! everything was great!
The room size Noisy clean services in the hallway and other rooms well be 9am. Poor service at the pool, lack of armchairs and toals at the pool site. Pool area to crowded and not taking advantage of the lawn area
The hotel has a 4 star outlook but in fact everything there is very disappoiting. The quality of the service was unacceptable, the beds were cheap and uncomfortable, and outdoor swimmingpools are tiny, the sauna and turkish bath do not work properly (turkish bath has a stinky smell). The hotel is not convenientely located unless you want to go there to play golf. I had booked for two nights and then decided to check out after the first day.
The calmness and the friendlyness. Very nice place to stay
Facilities were excellent, room was excellent, staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel charges extra for everything, water is 5 euro, internet is 10 euro per half hour. Everthing was extra and expensive.
The Hotel was very good, the room was quiet and comfortable, it was to the side, not overlooking the pool, The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was also good.
All Good Yes,we are golfers and the course is sub standard, we would not come again.
Nice quiet hotel with excellent facilities Had to wait till 4.30pm to check in as room was not ready
We chose the location for a golf holiday, which would also allow us to visit Lisbon city. There is a nice golf course, and the you can also benefit from discounted rates on nearby courses (Oitavos, Penha Longa). Breakfast is very good and varied. Missing a casual restaurant for the evening. Internet access is quite expensive. Also, if your room is not in the same aisle as the spa, you have to go either outside or through the lobby to get to the indoor swimming pool (no access between aisles on level 1 and level 2).
The staff were very polite and friendly and were happy to help at all times. When we told them we had to leave early in the morning to catch a flight they offered to make us a complementary breakfast for us to take with us. No
quality of rooms atmosphere in evenings; soulless
The staff were all very kind and helpful and made us welcome. The views are beautiful. The golf course is very good. The Rocca restaurant food is excellent. We enjoyed the pianist's music in the evenings. There is a lot of building work going on in the vicinity of the hotel. The countryside is in danger of being lost. The former Cosi Fan Tutti Italian restaurant which was run by the hotel is much missed but we understand there are plans for a new one in the future.
L'occitane products in bathroom. Very expensive for what you get!!! No good value for money. We got a room next to a road which was quite busy, even at nighttime. Kids were feeding ducks in the swimming pool at breakfast time. On pictures looks like a very quiet hotel.
Quiet and far from traffic. Pure nature, especially popular among golfers. Standard room and SPA too small. Every room service charged with +€ 7.50.
Location, atmosphere Staff is borderline rude, not friendly.
Friendly staff, clean room, quiet place, close to commercial center with shops and restaurants It´s hard to find place when you arrive by car, hotel doesnˇt visible sign
The proximity to the Autodromo, the friendliness and efficiency of your staff, the secure underground car park, and a feeliong of being a valued customer.
Booked for a simple bed room, received a double bed. Breakfeast without available fruit.
Just a quick walk to shopping centre where there was also a huge food court if you didn't want to take the trip into Cascais, for which there was a nearby excellent bus service or cheapish taxis. Air conditioning was a little boisterous and only worked on full - no medium or low. Room was well soundproofed against outside noise but the noise inside the hotel was horrendous at times. You could hear everything going on in rooms well down the corridor!
Absolutely stunning location with attentive, helpful staff and a very relaxed atmosphere. Expensive but pure bliss lounging on their four-poster sunbeds, wine glass in hand, watching the crashing Atlantic waves. Also, great base for easy visits to Lisbon (by train) and Sintra (by bus).
I was really pleased with the Farol Design Hotel overall. I thought the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and modern in design. I very much enjoyed the brunch with the sea-side view. Overall, I'd give this hotel a very high rating and would love to stay there if I returned to Cascais, Portugal. It would have been nice if the pool area had a hot tub/jacuzzi in addition to the pool. The pool water was very cold and didn't really match up in quality compared to the rest of the hotel.
Location The service was inconsistent with the standard a five star hotel. The staff were very unhelpful and unapproachable. EG We ordered lunch and received the wrong food Breakfast service was appalling had to practically chase a waiter to get a coffee - tables were not set which resulted in having to forage for cultery and napkins. We were offered eggs one day and none the next. We ordered cocktails in the bar one night and the were not given the wat we ordered we did not return the cocktails as we feared a reprisal. I wanted to use the iron and was told the hotel did not have a travel iron!! We ordered water by the pool and received a plastic bottle whilst other guests were presented with a water bottle in an ice bucket - with glasses etc We suspected that the lack of service may have been attributed to the fact that we did not speak Portuguese but we noticed that most of the other guests communicated to the staff in English.
The ambience, the location and the friendliness of the staff
Just stayed here for 5 nights...beautiful boutique style hotel with modern design yet still has all the original features of the old building. The pool area is fabulous...the view out over the rocks and the sea is amazing and its very relaxing to sit out all day and watch the sun go down. The restaurant for breakfast is really good again with spectacular views out to sea. Dinner is a must as the food is 5* in the restaurant. Service in the hotel is excellent whether at the pool, bar, restaurant. Location to Cascais is perfect as the hotel is located right beside the marina which has some lovely restaurants to visit and its less than 10 minutes stroll into Cascais. Only negative is that our bathroom was tiny..small complaint though!
The view. The design. The quietness of the surrounding. Closets are oldfashioned and need redone. Maybe not enough light in the room.
The pool and staff were great. All the food and drinks we had during our stay were very good. I think it is very overpriced for what you get.
Internet access.good bar. Poor lighting-not geared businessman
Position of hotel good. Front desk staff not very welcoming, laundrey taken from room without form being filled in, overcharged at poolside bar, ordered taxi to take to airport and got private hire car at double price without being asked, too many "outside" functions, such as weddings disrupting guests. Room small. This hotel is overrate and overpriced.
The location and being a boutique hotel, was small and friendly. The staff were eager to be helpful and made you welcome. It's been operating for approx 8 years and could use an upgrade. It was also expensive for what it offered and even charged 3euro for each coffee in your room.
New hotel, great accomodations, excelent price-quality. Friendly staff. Reasonable breakfast.
The hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly. The lack or a swimming pool
Very nice people, very nice place. The noise of the air conditioner
Good location, free parking, good breakfast with the budget.
- the way the hotel staff welcomed me; - how the room looked like; - the services offered; - the Internet connection; I really liked. No, everything was just fine.
Good location for travellers by car to visit both Lisbon and Sintra part. Room was fresh, equiped with all we needed, friendly staff - any problems during stay.
24 hour access, clean and good quality facilities, helpful service.
The staff are always pleasant and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable lack of staff meant long waits for the reception and bar
We found this hotel very comfortable, good value for money and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. N/A
Cheap for its quality, clean, comfortable and well located if you go by car with a gps. The breakfast was a bit poor.
Very spacious rooms; staff were very helpful; the place looks fantastic and the pool is very well thought out for children Quality and range of food available was not good
Excellent Hotel! We only can recommend it. Breakfast too expensive, but good.
Peaceful relaxing setting. Beautifully decorated reception area and rooms. Little bit too far away from cascais to walk, but could get a taxi for 5 euros
Quiet. Facilities. Comfort.
Excellent service and facilities. In particular the spa and gym area. Nice gardens and very cleaned and well maintained rooms.
everything breakfast too poor for the price 15€/person
quiet , decoration from appartement was very nice , a lot of space the furniture on the terrace , not comfortable enough
Great hotel with terrific rooms. Well appointed
It was very quiet. Maybe because out of season. The staff were very helpful when our car was causing problems. Thought thereshould be a restaurant in the evening if you didn't have a car but it forced us to eat out which was excellent.
Hotel facilities, service, and overall quality of premises. I was a returning visitor and plan to return again in the future
It was very close to the centre of Sintra, and the staff on reception were very helpful. Nothing....everything fine.
Location and parking
wonderful view. Best location. Wifi was totally terrible. Even right beside the router. Needs new carpeting, bedding and paint job. Concrete construction not in keeping with the charming surroundings of sintra.
Excellent central location, large comfortable room, helpful staff
The rooms are nicely decorated with a nostalgic 60s and 70s classical feel with lots of dark wood furnishing. View from room is great. Nice firm bed. Location excellent. Quality breakfast. Parking and safe is free! The staff at reception could be friendlier.
the view and the location of the hotel. Hotel needs a refresh. Smells old when you enter into the room
Great location for visiting Sintra. Breakfast Buffet was good with varied choice. We have children aged 10 and 11, not sure the hotel would welcome much younger children.
We liked the location, staff were really nice, good breakfast! The view was spectacular! A little bit old but overall nice hotel
The location was perfect!!! Walking distance of many castles and gardens. Spent 2 days just in this area of Sintra. Great bang for the buck (euro). the gym was nothing to write home about.
Great location! Parking is below the hotel and requires some fairly in depth maneuvering skills!
Staff attitude of older Reception gentleman and Waiter in Restaurant - your General Manager and I have exchanged emails on this topic
View and restrant they have. Room is relatively small but it is not big deal.
We loved our stay at Hotel Fortaleza. The staff were very professional and helpful. The location is also spectacular with great views.
Service was excellent Could of had a better veranda?
The location. The food,. Bathroom is small. Beds use nasty plastic under sheets
Location, design of hotel, excellent food
Breathtaking setting overlooking the ocean and Cabo da Roca. Excellent cuisine with splendid views.
great location, nice and stylish small room
Hotel was very luxurious and staff were extremely friendly and courteous. While the room was small it was very comfortable with a beautiful view. I am very grateful for the upgrade. The complimentary port, fruit chocolate were lovely. Unfortunately I didn't manage to to get the whirlpool bath working and didn't like to bother someone by asking but did enjoy the shower and the lovely toiliteries. When I booked i thought it was closer to Cascais but that was my fault. The complimentary taxi made up for it.
Decoration of the hotel, cleaning of room, quality of the restaurant and the staff, quiet, out of the city, site very beautiful, . Lack of swimming pool
Beautiful hotel and grounds. Lovely room and service. I preordered a taxi to hotel citadela cascais to pick up a car and was told that it would cost around 10 euros. Whilst I was waiting for the taxi another man at the hotel was also waiting for one. The driver charged me 19 euros. (he said this was because he had to make a call to the hotel). However, the other man at Penha Longa arrived at the same place and had paid10 euros
i will never ever book with you again or recommend your company . the hotel is excellent and i have no complaints what so ever. they are five star but bookings. com is not
We liked very much the variety of restaurants and the enormous spaces in and out of the hotel, the best restaurant to visit is the arola, the golf clubhouse, great food very sexy & friendly staff. We can name it the hip place of penha longa but then for middle age people. Due to it size of it the maintenance is always a bit of problem in this type of hotels, although in general it is perfect, except for the light bulbs in various points are out of order and need to be changed. Also the so named cinema room is very poor, the sound is of the middle ages, so please change into a modern communication video center of real cinema with a selection of films clients can choose. Another aspect is the so much praised Japanese restaurant, well this is the weakest point in the concept, how can you run a Japanese restaurant with Portuguese cooks, impossible mission, please close down the place of hire the right cooks or make it a fusion restaurant were east meets west. The food was not that great.........so a minus one.
The friendly staff and excellent service
Lovely, friendly accommodating staff in true Ritz Carlton style Set in a lovely green pine forest, but a car is required to access any other amenities, including the beach (25 minutes away) or Sintra itself (20 minutes).
Wonderful ambience and unobrtrusive service. No
In nice part of town, friendly atmosphere not tempted by the menu in the restaurant, a bit too fancy and service took quite a long time for lunch.
Spectacular hotel, very special with uninterrupted views, felt very spoilt for the few days we were there.Food was excellent and not overpriced for such quality, service and most importantly view... Pool small and railing around edge of cliff face should have vertical rails not horizontal rails.
location breakfast bedroom
The location and quality of this hotel are outstanding. It is an expensive hotel but you get good value for money.
The location was great--just a few minutes walk from train station and right on the ocean. There was a beautiful stoned path to walk along the ocean for 30 minutes.
Very well located in Cascais with immediate beach access. Train station (for connecting to central Lisbon) 1 minute walk away and local shopping & restaurant area adjacent to hotel. Sufficiently small (60 rooms) to treat its guests as individuals and sufficiently large to provide the services a 5*-hotel should.. The staff is very friendly and guest-focused and combine professional and personal warmth. Will happily return not only as a business-visitor but also for private visits.
The level of service was excellent - in fact probably the most professional I have seen in recent years. The location is wonderful.
The location was superb ,with amazing views and only a few seconds stroll to shops and restaurants. train staion very handy for going into lisbon. the staff very helpful and courteous. we will return.
The view from the hotel terraces is superior. We have received a room that had a superior view over a city but was located next to huge airconditioning units for the hotel and whole shopping mall located on floors below the hotel (literally 10 meters on the same level/ level below). Therefore romantic nights on the tarace where not with city background noise but with quite dominant "pumping" noise of the airconditioning station units. We don't smoke and the fact that next to our terrace was a terrace used by staff to have a cigarette breaks was also a minus. Service was not at the level you expect from the boutique hotel e.g. we were not informed about dinner arrangements.
Great location No
Great service, wonderful location, terrific cuisine
I very much enjoyed my stay at the hotel and the staff and the quality of the food was excellent. I hope i have the pleasure of staying there in the near future. Many Thanks I thought the size of the food plate at breakfast was to small it was like a side plate as a result you are eating off two or three plates at a time.
Everything about our stay was fantastic and luxurious! Breakfast was divine, spa was amazing as was hotel pool.
The Palacio Hotel is well named as it is indeed a Palace. We stayed in a room with a balcony which had a wonderful view. The staff were excellent, friendly and spoke very good English. The Four Seasons Restaurant was fabulous and well worth a visit.
quiet and close to beach
extremely friendly staff. The only suggestion i would have for the hotelmanagement is to install some extra computers for hotelguests. Only one slightly outdated pc was available.
Service was excellent and all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. the prices of drinks was expensive.
The staff was extremely polite and helpful... The breakfast (included) was excellent and abundant... the room was beautifully furnished.
The hotel was low-key and off-the-beaten path. It's close enough to Cascais and yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle. It would have been nice if the hotel had a beach presence, meaning, an area reserved fro hotel guests, including chaise lounges and parasols.
Everything Construction next to the hotel - noise
Professional and friendly staff Nothing
Views and Location and Cascais Excellent Friendliness of staff and general atmosphere
Views of the bay of Cascais
Excellent location in the centre of Cascais, friendly and helpful staff, parking Rooms a little outdated, breakfast should start at 7 am
next to the sea, breakfast with view of the sea
Beautiful location, right beside the beach. Sea view rooms. Bar staff were very friendly. Reception staff were not very helpful. Breakfast was not very nice.
The all over comfort and friendliness of all the staff
Location Unbelievably they have no Iron and was there on important business !! Very limited facilities and the staff looked at me shocked when i asked for an Iron as if I was asking for something extreme or unusual!!
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and found the staff most helpful. My stay would have been improved had the room provided a hair dryer, coffee and tea making facilities in the bedroom and perhaps a small refridgerator.
Wonderful location, in front of Cascais bay, close to city center, shops and train station. Nice breakfast. Need remodelation: door of the room did not close, and after a few tentatives the clerk manage to fix it. Broke again as I left the room. Very poor and old bathroom.
the location of Hotel Baia is fantastic (which is why we booked it). Also the fact that there is parking (of which there is a shortage with central hotels in Cascais).
wide and clean room. location just near casino
Nothing special but expensive
Friendliness of staff. Size of rooms. Nice breakfast buffet. Good selection of TV channels. Location. Keycard system. Wi-Fi Internet connection. Everything really. A 4* hotel in my opinion. I would definitely stay there again at a similar rate. One thing I always like in hotels is a minibar, which the Alvorada doesn't have, but that's a minor thing, which doesn't detract from the overall experience.
Big clean room with nice big balcony (but actually I've seen some other rooms were very little). Close to casino. close to casino, but a lil far away from the ocean (really cold water!) and the central life with reastaurants and shops. Traffic on the roads near hotel in nighttime.
Location was very convenient. Parking was difficult. The furniture in the rooms could be upgraded.
spotlessly clean, comfortable, convenient, spacious, quiet, helpful staff, good facilities and kind enough to leave us our room until 3 o clock also very near to beach, train station and casino of course!
the bathroom is very small (especially comparing to the size of the room itself); quite a poor selection for the breakfast
The overall experience was lovely. Staff friendly, good location to casino and beach. Nothing I can think of.
staff never seen anything like it (positive) in portugal
Only drawback was the proximity to the main road - there was some traffic noise while sitting by the pool, but it really wasn't a big problem
Level of service/location/comfort
Pleasant location - slightly out of Cascais but still easy to access. Slight problem with our room on the first evening but this was quickly resolved and we were upgraded to another room. Couldn't use bar area on first night as there was a private function in there
Breakfast was brilliant, fabulous views, pool area was nice Our room was beside the entrance on the ground floor so it was quite noisy
I thought the Hotel was a delight. Perfectly situated, small and intimate, it was run by an exceptionally friendly team. A real gem of a place.
The location is stunning and the staff made us feel very welcome. No
The relaxing location The public transport was rather infrequent.t
Excellent personal, just beside to very excellent restorant Guinchio at ocean Just perfect hotel
Hotel looks beautiful & cozy, like a small luxury hotel. The stuff is extremely kind & helpful. The food is delicious. Nice ocean view from some rooms, from the salon and from the terrace of the restaurant. The rooms are not sufficiently soundproofs which can be a real problem if you have a loud neighbor or if he/she is to get up early, etc. You have to have a car or to be sportive - the hotel is located about 4 km from Cascais and about the same from the sandy beach Guincho. Spa facilities are a bit limited.
