Pros: Frederic, the owner, was an absolute delight. He is very enthusiastic about his property and willing to suggest places to eat etc.
Cons: The room was upstairs in an annexe to the main building which was not what we were expecting. The room was incredibly dimly lit making reading very difficult in the dark. As with all old buildings standards of cleanliness may be compormised because there are so many nooks and crannies. Bathroom shower/toilet area is very cramped. Very difficult to locate prooperty from address and information on the site. This needs to be made more specific.

Pros: It is a beautiful little hotel, it is in the countryside which is beautiful, there were little animals everywhere, a cat a dog, a mini horse, a goat, a sheep, and 4 chickens. lovely gardens to sit in. The breakfast was a little on the small side. But I would go back and stay there because the building is very old and really well renovated, the bedroom was beautiful.
Cons: I would have liked some cereal for breakfast and maybe some eggs or cheese or ham.
7.9 Good
Pros: The breakfast was very good with a selection of preserves. Some guests are offered dinner whilst there. Very welcoming on our arrival. First class contact before our arrival and clear signing on approach roads.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property with many perks to enjoy: authentic environment, relaxing hot-tub and pool, delicious breakfast and very supportive hosts.

Cons: Couldn't be better
9.6 Excellent

Cons: The place was amazing but the location is a little out of town so we drove to where we needed to go instead of walk or cycle as we usually would.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything was great, staff, food and a lovely chateau.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was a beautiful old chateau which was very quirky. It also had a pool and sauna. The bed was comfortable and the curtains very thick, keeping out the morning light! The bathroom had a wonderful shower, very large and with a good pressure. We had sparkling wine before dinner and the waitress kept the glasses well filled - it was included in the price of dinner. The owner was very pleasant and chatted with everyone before the meal. The grounds were lovely and extremely well kept. Checkout was very late which might come in useful for some.
Cons: Being a beautiful old chateau, the floors were uneven which was a bit of a problem for our older friends. Sounds from other rooms were easily heard and the uneven floors squeaked a lot.

Pros: We had stayed here a few years ago as it's a very convenient hotel for a stopover on way through France, and accepts dogs, so we knew it would be good. We didn't have breakfast this time so can't comment on that. It's a short walk into Alencon town centre where there are several bars and restaurants, and there's a nearby park for exercising the dog.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Dinner was good as was the breakfast. The staff were very helpful.
Cons: First room too small, could only get into double bed from one side. Second room we tried smelled of cigarettes. Third room we accepted. Still too small, but only twin beds. No plug in wash basin which leaked and made bathroom floor wet. The decor was very tired and worn.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect stopover en route to our ferry
5.0 Okay
Pros: About the room nothing.
Cons: Our carpet was wet as there had been a leak the night before and the smell from the wet carpet was terrible it smelt like gone off milk and we had to sleep with that as we arrived late there was nobody to complain to. The next morning on leaving I told the lady about it she was very nice and phoned her manager and said there was no charge which I was very happy with. On returning home realised that they have taken full payment for the room. I have emailed but haven’t heard anything back. I wasn’t going to leave a bad review as they said no charge I thought that only fair but now not very happy.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Room was clean
Cons: Triple room supposed to have a double and a single bed. Instead 3 single beds shoehorned together in a room too small. Barely room to move. Noisy Compressor running all night and a very forgettable meal beforehand.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Used as a stop-over hotel en route elsewhere. Just on the outskirts of Alencon, the location was quiet, just a few minutes drive into the town. The staff were very good, the room was basic but clean and comfortable, and the breakfast choice was actually very good, much better than most in this catagory of hotel.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything, we thought we arrived at an old army barracks. The “chalet” was awful: needs more than renovation, needs rebuilding. Staff were brilliant and food was plentiful and good quality. Can’t get away from the fact they are fighting a losing battle, dirty toilet, doors delaminating, power points loose, unfortunately it’s an endless list. Not what one would expect from an international company.

2.9 Mediocre
Pros: I didn't like anything!
Cons: I booked half-board, thinking as one might that the evening meal would be at the hotel. No I had a choice of tokens. Pizza or American style fast food grill. These two options were in the opposite direction to the main town. I was also told that I would have to pay for the meal whether I took it or not. I had a beer in the old town 15min walk then had to walk to the grill 30mins then back to the hotel 15mins. Room was tiny (when sitting on the loo your knees were in the shower!) and not properly cleaned. Toe nail cuttings and other dirt on the floor. To ruin my stay completely two French speaking men arrived at 1am something and didn't stop talking until 03:15am after I banged on the wall very hard. Yes I did even had earplugs in. Walls paper-thin. Parking was off the road but not secured by any means. Anyone could walk in.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: A great value ‘non chain’ hotel with its own bar and restaurant. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Only stayed one night but will likely go back to Alencon and would stay here again.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: The only bonus was that the hotel is close to the railway station.
Cons: As soon as I arrived I realised the hotel room was very dirty, the bathroom floor was literally grey - even though the real colour had at some point been white. Nothing had been cleaned very well and even the coffee cup was filthy. The tablecloth was had stains and everything was run down. The hotel is at a noisy roundabout so sleeping with the window open is problematic on hot summer nights. There is no AC or elevator. I was on the third floor. The worst thing however was that the owner claimed the night before my checkout that I had not paid which was totally untrue. I had paid in advance via the booking.com site using PayPal. I luckily had a printout of this payment and he said ok. I didn't think anything more of it until the next morning when I was checking out and he started asking for money again, this time quote rudely. I was going to catch my train and he basically started telling me we need to call booking.com together and solve this. There was nothing to solve, it was between his hotel and the booking.com. He did let me go but I was shocked at his really rude behaviour and a little imitated as a women traveling alone.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner was extremely helpful and informative. The breakfast was basic but plenty on offer. We ate at the hotel and had a lovely meal. We were made to feel very welcome and valued. The second night was very cold and additional heating was offered and provided without having to ask for it. The hotel was a 10 minute walk into the centre.
Cons: The lack of off-street parking. However there was plenty of on-street parking in close proximity so it wasn't a real issue.

Pros: We had stayed here a few years ago as it's a very convenient hotel for a stopover on way through France, and accepts dogs, so we knew it would be good. The owner is pleasant (so is his large dog) and the rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. There is a large private parking area and garden with outdoor seating. We didn't have breakfast this time so can't comment on that. It's a short walk into Alencon town centre where there are several bars and restaurants, and there's a nearby park for exercising the dog.
Cons: Nothing. We would stay there again.
