This was one of the best Paradors we have seen, a beautiful and very comfortable high end stay. Location was great for visiting this must see town. The hotel is just our style of comfort based on purely local design and simple beauty.
Lovely old building, with great bedrooms, well positioned in the old town. A good bar. Reception staff were a little off-hand (and not very polite), our bags were marched off to our room with not a word said and almost knocking over my wife in the process.
We loved everything, the food was delicious and beautifully presented, the restaurant staff were professional but not stiff or unfriendly.A fabulous hotel in a wonderful region of Spain where we heard no English spoken, wonderful for those of us who prefer the real Spain. First stay at a Parador but not the last. We could not find fault, only regret was not booking extra days.
very beatiful restored old convent in the center of the nice little town of Almagro. staff were very friendly and helpful, dinner was great and the swimmingpool most enjoyable. we liked our stay very much!
Everything. From the moment we drove into the courtyard. Everything was perfect. The food excellent. The room tranquil and comfortable. The whole stay was just so relaxing. We will visit again.
Beautifull parador, but unfortunately a little modern rooms. Center of town (plaza Mayor) is great and has a lot of atmosphere. We were lucky to have stayed in this parador during a festival, so we enjoyed a live performance in open air As mentioned, the rooms did not compare to the grandeur of the parador itself
Location (center of town), enough parking places, wireless is free, swimming pool with free towel wireless is not available in rooms.
Wonderful buildings The breakfast which was included was spectacularly good Not terribly impressed with staff compared to the other hotels we stayed at during our 2 week journey through Spain
The setting was pretty, especially outside. Close to the town. -
Its beauty and charm, antiques, patios, and hospitality of the owners. Quiet, comfortable, and an excellent breakfast too. One of the best places I've ever stayed. Your description is accurate. Guest reviews not shown.
We were looking for a town and hotel to stay in on our way from Madrid to Tarifa Spain. This was the perfect spot. The hotel was amazing. I think I took more pictures of the hotel than anything else! The courtyards, pool, deck, sitting areas, and rooms are all amazing. The building is the perfect blend of old Spain with modern conveniences. The hostess is so kind and helpful. We walked to the plaza in the evening for dinner and we felt like we were truly experiencing a spanish way of life - not just a tourist stop over.
What a wonderful experience at Casa Rural in lovely Almagro. Delightful owner and such a charming, interesting residence filled with Spanish character and interesting artifacts. The breakfast was amazing and extremely generous - we didn't need lunch! We loved everything about Tia Pilar and dined at the Parador nearby which was our most memorable meal during our short spanish trip.
It was old fashioned, but magnificently appointed and very comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful. We wished we had planned to stay another day.
Casa Rural Tia Pilar has an excellent location to attend the Festival de Teatro Clasico de Almagro. The decoration of the house is lovely and the rooms are a dream. The bed is comfortable; the linens are very agreeable; the bathroom has a wonderful hydromassage shower. The breakfast buffet is absolutely delicious. You can enjoy the comfort of a modern hotel and also walk around the house to see the antiques as if you were at a museum. Undoubtedly, the best hotel I have stayed at.
Very rural and no English at all! Excellent breakfast.
The staff at the hotel was very helpful in spite of our lack of Spanish. It was 1 block from the Plaza Major with many outside tapas cafeterias. Very comfortable beds! Parking was listed as unavailable but there was plenty of free street parking. We traveled in May. Our needs were accommodated nicely when the staff determined that our room was on the second floor and my 87 y.o. mother would be more comfortable on the ground floor. Hotel full of wonderful surprises and courtyards!
Lovely quaint hotel with old knick-knacks on display throughout (more like a family home than a hotel). Room was comfortable and spacious, air-con was very efficient. Breakfast in the courtyard was lovely. Couldnt find the pool until we were about to leave and still not sure if it was for residents use as it seemed to be surrounded by washing.
Very friendly staff to welcome guests. Interesting tour of the hotel and its interesting interior and facilities The ultra modern bedroom with its light sensitive windows and high tech gadgets did not offer a relaxing feel. similarly the breakfast room was stark and uninviting. Ther hotel lacks soul.
Excellent hotel, choice of old or modern rooms, good location for town and exploring La Mancha.
the ambience is very nice even though the mixture of very old and very modern is a bit questionable use of spa facilities for an extra 30€ per person
Surroundings and decor were lovely All rooms had showers but no baths.
On first place the hotel is decorated with a really nice taste (typical Spanish decoration from La Mancha). And the staff is extremely nice, always willing to help or give tips on where to go and what to do. It was a great experience and we will come back.
Beautiful hotel, very clean, staff were lovely. Outside area with pool and sun chairs was lush.
Lovely, and very typical Spanish Hotel. The staff were exrtremely friendly although the langauge barrier is a constraint at times. (We thought we knew enough spanish words to get by but found it very difficult to be understood at times). Manuela, who is one of the staff, was particularly helpful and knew a little English which helped. (She speaks fluent German). Lovely little pool area and given the whoel idea was to relax and do nothing - its a great place to do just that! Well done & Best Wishes to Pablo and the staff
We thought it compared with the Almagro Parador very favourably (we stayed there 2 years ago) and was much better value, especially the restaurant where the menu del dia was excellent. No. The reception area and staircase were very impressive. Nearer the centre would have been better but 500 metres isn't too far.
everthing pretty acceptable. Shower not great
Decor Their system would not accept either of our credit cards so we had to pay by cash which we had not budgeted for.
The buffet breakfast was very adequate - the bacon and eggs were very good. Freshly squeezed orange juice would have been welcome.
Dinner/ day menu- very good and not expensive Small rooms
Good, easy and free parking; nice staff. None.
Own parking area, huge rooms with high ceiling Two of two offered rooms were smoked
Very convenient. Walking distance from downtown Almagro, and well located within the region to visit other arweas of interest. The price is fair for the summer.
Good stopping place between Madrid and Andalusia region, otherwise not much to recommend it.
Great value for money, about 10 minutes walk into town. Good to have a swimming pool albeit small to cool off in.
friendly staff especially the lady who served us breakfast and the receptionist. Good air-conditioning. Clean.Good breakfast. We had signed up for secure parking but the garage was inaccessible due to the council digging up the pavement in front of the hotel. The receptionist seemd surprised when I said I wanted to cancel the parking! However, we were able to park across the road. The room was minute - getting in and out of the shower was an experience!
