Pros: Quaint atmosphere. Margaux, the host was lovely, friendly and helpful.
Cons: The skinny spiral staircase was a bit noisy and awkward carrying up luggage to the loft.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This small hotel was very charming. The owner was very friendly, considerate and helpful. She reached out to us to be sure of our arrival time. She booked a taxi for our departure. The breakfast was very nice. Amiens was a great city to visit. The boat ride to the hortillonages was unforgetable. The Cathedral was amazing.

Pros: Great host. Very nice. Cool Decor. Good bed. Good location for walking everywhere!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Decorated tastefully. The host was charming and helpful. The atmosphere is very relaxing. A good choice and convenient to get to the cathedral.
Cons: I am never fond of cats as I am allergic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Marguerite could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Little touches like the varied types of jam made it a fun experience. Interesting and quirky interior decoration. Very clean.
Cons: There were a lot of stairs to climb which are a bit challenging to the less mobile. (We were on the second floor) The attic ceilings slope so one of us had to crawl up the bed to get in but the bed was comfortable and we were fine. Again, could be a problem for the less mobile.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Warmth and friendliness of the hostess. Nice breakfast.
Cons: Nothing

Overview Reviews
A stay at Une Maison en Ville chambres d'hôtes places you in the heart of Amiens, within a 10-minute walk of Amiens Cathedral and Jules Verne House.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: For access to the centre of Amiens, it's a great location. The owner was very helpful and we managed well enough with our limited command of each other's language! The room was very spacious indeed and the bathroom even more so, with a modern walk through shower. The breakfasts were excellent, with a good selection and beautifully presented.
Cons: Couldn't fault the accommodation, although parking wasn't easy - free on some local streets (including Rue Duthoit) but spaces few and far between. Time of day makes a difference I believe.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a fabulous room..it was more like an apartment. Wonderfully looked after and welcoming. They couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely stay again. Thank you.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was a nice b&b. It is an old building run by a family. The owner was very nice and super helpful even though he spoke little English. A couple of things to point out: 1) Do not arrive early without prior arrangement. I emailed the owner a few days before to see if we could check in 1 hour early however they never responded and we arrived early and no one was there. There wasn’t any seating for my elderly parents to wait the hour so we stood around. The place is in a residential street. 2) The bed was comfortable which is top of my list and the windows opened to allow the room to cool. 3) It is a strange layout, you can hear your neighbours and the floors are really creeky. The windows also back onto a court yard shared by other houses. It was a little strange. Overall it was pleasant made better by the owner. And once we got our bearings it was an easy ten minute walk to the station which my elderly parents could do.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Centrality of the location
Cons: Shower small and not easy too use. no place for dresses- no small soap for showing hands- room congested with useful furniture-no TV- scarse assistance and info from the owner on how to manage the facility and the use of the kitchen e.g minibar
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic and the owner was very helpful to us. A lovely place to stay whilst we visited the nearby Somme battlegrounds.
10.0 Excellent

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Christophe was most friendly and kind. The rooms were lovely, just the right size with everything we needed. Great location also.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An exceptional property! Our gracious host gave us great tips about restaurants and sightseeing. We parked the car in a garage just two blocks away; street parking is hard to find. The cathedral is just 10 walking minutes away. The room is spacious, the bed extra long! The list of amenities in the room and on the property is amazing. Fine breakfast. Highly recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Christopher(n) was really nice! He was always with a big smile, with good energy and always trying to help and giving tips. The breakfast was SUPER! The room is enormous (3 ppl with two bedrooms + 1 common bathroom and 2 toilettes + 1 kitchen [equipped with all you need and more]). The bathroom had everything equipped (shampoo, cotton pads, etc.). Breakfast amazing, fresh fruits, tasty croissants, Nespresso and “normal (old school) coffee”. Sublime! No noise at all! Two blocks from carrefour! The room for 3/4 is really suitable for families as well.
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location to enjoy your stay. Not far from grocery store and station. Very beautiful facility, cozy room, beautiful and tasty breakfast, comfortable living room and heavenly garden. If you are looking for a place through which you can feel you’re “home” then this property will be one of them.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The decor was mesmerising. So many different themes which all worked together even though there was so much diversity. The location was superb. We were able to walk to all the main attractions in town. The amount of food for breakfast was just right. The coffee was very good..... that is always important to us! Olivier and Philippe were absolutely charming and nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom had a terrace too.
Cons: We liked everything.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Olivier and Phillipe are excellent hosts, very helpful and friendly. The bed and room were extremely comfortable but I didn't realise that the toilet was not in our bathroom. As we were the only guests staying at the time, it didn't matter. The house is very beautifully decorated and immaculately kept. The B & B is in a very good position to visit the main attractions of Amiens.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent for visiting the city, the room was charming with a large balcony with loungers. Car parking was a bonus and must for me on trips into cities.
Cons: The toilet was separate from the bathroom and could be used by 3 other bedrooms but as it happens we had the facility to ourselves.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a very beautiful home which has been tastefully renovated and decorated. Olivier and Philippe are very friendly hosts. Excellent location which is quiet but is within walking distance of everything.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, breakfast was not to our taste, but that's because we don't eat many carbohydrates or cerials because of the sugar. Tbere was some cheese so we ate that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were super friendly and advised us with planing the day in Amiens. They even made sure we had a table in next doors excellent restaurant even though we hadn’t booked. They also recommended the free light show at the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Amiens, within yards of the Pensione which is held every night at 21.45. That was fantastic.
Cons: Everything was lovely but lift didn’t work up to top floor. This was fine for us as we enjoy burning calories but would not be good for the less mobile.

Cons: There was nothing to dislike at all.

Cons: Would have preferred ensuite but bathroom next door allocated for our use only. Website should show that stairs are narrow and steep which could be a problem for anyone with a disability or heavy luggage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful landlady. Willing to chat despite my limited French. Gave me a thorough introduction to Amiens when I arrived and made helpful restaurant suggestions. Comfortable bed. If ever I return to Amiens I shall try and stay here again.
Cons: Nothing to dislike. (apart from the heat - which obviously wasn't their fault! 32degree heatwave!)

Cons: Bathroom on the floor below down narrow staircase
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a charming little B&B with tons of character. The property has two bedrooms and separate bathrooms, out bathroom was on the same level as our bedroom, while the bathroom for the other bedroom is down a flight of stairs. Staying here is like being invited into the host's home. We had use of the lovely back garden, could store food in the fridge and the breakfasts were delicious and food plentiful. Great coffee! The room was spacious and comfortable. The hospitality and graciousness of the hosts was first class! Parking on the street is free and was easy to fin. It's a comfortable 15 minute stroll into the centre of the city.

Pros: It has a nice deck on the roof to sit outside. The breakfast was good and they knew Marilyn requested gluten free and had bread and a small loaf for the 3 days we were there in addition to the great fruit salad and other breakfast choices. Comfortable room and small balcony and roomy bathroom.
Cons: A bit of a hike from the SNCF station (we should have taken a taxi) with our luggage. Unfortunately the reception is only open certain hours so we had to wait to check in once we got there.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good check in. Extremely helpful receptionist. She sorted out bus timetables and tickets for us.
Cons: Difficult to see from the road, needs a prominent sign. Furnishings rather sparse. Didn't like visitors dog in dining room.

Cons: Not enough choice for breakfasts and only 1 coffee machine
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, clean
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very modern and clean room and bathroom. Quiet. Good breakfast. Free parking, easily accessible. Friendly and professional receptionist upon check-in.
Cons: Staff seemed to be insufficiently trained to deal with customer feedback. Three lightbulbs in the room were broken. The egg boiler at breakfast had too little water to effectively cook the eggs.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: La Chambre D'Amiens was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It was very easy to access by car coming from the autoroute and free parking was provided. We had a great evening meal a ten-minute walk from the hotel.
Cons: It was a bit warm in our room, and though there was a fan it didn't cool down the room very much.
9.2 Excellent

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Comme Une Parenthèse, you'll be centrally located in Amiens, within a 10-minute drive of Amiens Cathedral and Hortillonnages Floating Gardens. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.1 Good
Pros: Quaint french farmhouse in a lovely garden setting on the canals in Amiens.
Cons: If you have small kids or difficulty with mobility, choose the other houses available in the complex.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful bijous accommodation and the gorgeous gardens. The pony called Pérlé was so cute and a lovely aspect of the owner Hubert's estate! We took full advantage of the bikes available and took the boat out up the little tributaries running around Hubert's property. Mr Hubert Sergeant is a wonderful host and has a wonderful sense of humour. The walks or bike rides along the canal are absolutely wonderful and the allotment gardens on either side are a joy to look at. They really take pride in them, both vegetables and flowers. I really really would love to go back and stay as Hubert's place is a perfect setting and the best house and he is so much fun!
6.3 Good
Pros: Beautiful, idyllic little house. Great location on a small canal.
Cons: Stairs to bedrooms upstairs. There were a couple of apartments and we got the smaller apartment with very steep stairs. Really only one bedroom upstairs. Very small with little headroom.
7.9 Good
Pros: Outdoor facilities and friendly welcome.
Cons: Room smaller than appears in ad. Limited cooking facilities and equipment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is heaven on earth. Very special.
6.3 Good
Pros: The grounds are lovely.
Cons: The apartment had the bedroom on the first floor but access is via a very steep set of stairs more appropriately described as a ladder. I would not recommend this apartment to guests over 60 and no one unless you are physically OK. The bathroom also only has a shower over the bath and it is step up to enter.
7.5 Good
Pros: Fantastic location - bikes and boat provided for our use. Clean and compact in a lovely, quiet area on the canal. The log burner was put to good use after a day of cycling and rowing down the canal. We had fun on the canal and managed to dock up at a nearby bar/restaurant, to enjoy a glass of wine. Beautiful gardens and outdoor seating meant we could enjoy the sunshine.
Cons: The house we stayed in was advertised as having two bedrooms. However there was one very nice bedroom and then sofa beds on the landing. It was not really big enough for four adult friends to be comfortable in. I'm sure it would be fine for a family with children but we were expecting two bedrooms. The stairs going up were very steep and narrow too - not to be used in the dark. The house also had some plumbing issues, shower over bath which wouldn't drain away and a leaking sink. The sofas and lounging furniture were not that comfortable and not really enough for four people.
7.1 Good
Pros: Hubert, the owner, was wonderful. Super friendly, really helpful and made the stay all the better.
Cons: I thought 12 euros each for the breakfast was a little too expensive for what it was - a simple continental offering. And to charge the same for kids as well as adults made it a pretty expensive affair.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The lovely host, who explained a lot about the vicinity and could bear with my French, the gorgeous spacious garden, the boat trip with the boat that the property provides, the possibility to use a bike to go to the local bakery in the morning - or do more, if one so wishes.
Cons: We stayed with a family of five and we are quite highly built so upstairs it was a bit small at least for us the adults when we had to make the beds of the kids, but this was really a minor inconvenience

Cons: It was a bit dark but that didn’t matter as we were out most of the time
7.9 Good
Pros: The position of the apartments is great for visiting the cathedral and town being student accommodation and parking nearby was no problem. the staff were very helpful and friendly and the apartment was fully equipped if quite small.
Cons: All worked well for us.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Just the location and the fact that they have a ticket for the car park
Cons: It smells of cooking
8.3 Excellent
Pros: On entering the premises we could see that it was essentially a student residence. We feared the worst when we were allocated a flat down the stairs as we imagined a basement dungeon. We were pleasantly surprised that the studio was bright and spacious with two large windows overlooking a small river and a nice little square with two benches. The kitchen was basic but functional, the bed was big and comfy and a table with two chairs was provided. Although record temperatures were recorded during our stay in Amiens, the room' thankfully, remained pleasantly cool. Five minute walk to Notre Dame, Town centre and a large supermarket.
Cons: Nothing much to dislike. would especially suit travellers on a budget.

Pros: Comfortable bed and luxurious shower. Unlike some reviewers, we had no issue with opening the window. Also enjoyed meeting Nougat the Beagle!
Cons: As a heads up, 4pm check in really means 4pm check in. We thought we might be able to come earlier and drop off our bags, but had to wait until 4pm to be able to enter. Not a huge deal, as we only waited 15 minutes and had great weather, but you should be aware.

Pros: Excelent location, ten minute walking distance to Cathedral and another 5 to river. The room was big and clean. The owners of the place are fantastic, and they made our stay the more enjoyable. Parking is a bit of a problem, but 100 yards away there is a free parking lot.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A lovely building - our room was across a courtyard away from the (quiet anyway) road. We met Mme., two of her daughters and their beagle dog and had an interesting chat (in perfect English) before checking out. The recommendation of a restaurant was spot on as was the explanation of local parking regulations and directions to the petrol station.
Cons: There was a busy road to cross to get to central Amiens - with pedestrian crossings though.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place with a very nice host.
Cons: Can't think of anything

7.9 Good
Pros: Close to the restaurant and town centre
Cons: The room was too small and unable to stand up in the shower due to the ceiling being sloped
9.2 Excellent
Pros: In an old residence so rooms are laid out a bit strangely, but it was clean and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is top notch. Great location.
Cons: Nothing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Easy access, good nearby parking, excellent location for sights and dining. Perfect for visit to Amiens.
Cons: Nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: On arrival the staff were helpful they checked that our room was in order. We stayed in the former Chapel. The bedroom was pretty. The weather was unusually hot while we were there and there was no air conditioning, however a fan was provided. It was still hot so we had to leave our bedroom window open, we survived. There is no fridge which would’ve been helpful for milk and no electric jug. A coffee Machine is provided. The bathroom had a handheld shower over the bath which was very high to climb into so I wouldn’t advise an elderly person to stay in this room. There is a nice outdoor area to sit, night time was cooler to do this. The location is fabulous right next to the incredible Cathedral (which you climb, only for the brave phew
Cons: No air conditioning, no fridge. Just a handheld shower.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location near the cathedral. Nice staff. Relaxed atmosphere.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Central location in the old section of Amiens with car parking relatively close by. Very helpful young lady on reception who helped carry our bags to and from our rooms.
Cons: Lots of stairs to the top rooms.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome, quirky accommodation and lovely breakfast. Quiet location - very special.
Cons: We had been informed we would have a ground floor room with kettle and dining table but had an upstairs room without these provided. As we had motor cycle gear it was a bit small for our needs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was so eclectic and suitable for us. Bedroom loft. Tub with handheld shower. Staff amazing. Great breakfast reasonably priced
Cons: Would not be suitable for any mobility issue as there is steep spiral staircase to this room. There are other room options that would be fine. Upper loft did not receive consistent wifi
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location and does what it says in the brochure
Cons: Stairs no lift
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, friendly staff, very characterful place to stay. Breakfast was cheap - simple but good. We stayed in the gothic crypt which was a novelty!
Cons: The bath in our room was a bit of a struggle to use and could do with an update

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really liked the central location and quality of the hotel. So close to the cathedral and easy walking distance to other city attractions. We can't say enough about the staff at the front desk who helped us through a medical need for my wife. They were so helpful, especially Caroline! Breakfast spread was very nice. We extended our stay an extra night, we liked it so much. Room was very comfortable and amenities as expected. We highly recommend Mercure Amiens Cathédrale and we will stay there again for sure upon our return to Amiens.
Cons: Not a thing!
7.9 Good
Pros: Perfect location tucked away in the centre of town, close to the cathedral and main shopping area. Hotel was quiet despite being very busy. The lobby was beautifully fragrenced. The staff were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was prompt and efficient. There was a small fridge in our room which was invaluable, as well as a small safe.
Cons: The hotel is modern and stylish but sadly some of the furnishings in our room were a bit worse for wear- the curtains stained, the chair worn and a sofa that was worn, marked and tatty. I guess the hotel is well used, so whilst the room was fundamentally clean, it was tired in parts and ready for an update.

Cons: A little tired looking in places, roof leaking in hallway
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Parking off property and expensive

Pros: Location and service.
Cons: Dinner could be improved.
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly efficient staff. Our room on the 4th floor had a great view of the cathedral. Room was clean and serviced early each day which was nice to come back to. We didn’t use the restaurant. The hotel didn’t have parking but we used a public car park less than 100 metres away. This had a tariff of just €12 for 3 days, come and go as you please. Excellent WiFi.
Cons: The bathroom layout as terrible, very small and with exposed plumbing. The toilet was also separated from the bathroom which was inconvenient. The bathroom was substandard and really needs a serious makeover.
