Cons: the bed was uncomfortable and sagged in the middle. it was difficult to sleep.
Pros: For my purposes, the location was perfect - right on the strip along with Lowe's, WalMart, Kroger's, and chain restaurants. I could make a grocery store stop, hit the restaurant for dinner, and then crash in my room at the end of some very long days. All the hotel staff were friendly.
I'm an older woman who does a lot of solo traveling, and I felt very safe in this location and in the hotel.
I'll probably stay here again if I return.
Cons: The room was clean, but everything was dusty. Even the bathroom counter was dusty behind the coffee maker supply tray.
Several times, the TV had only a blank screen when I turned it on. A hard reset (unplugging for 2 min, then plugging it back in) did the trick, but it was a bother. The front desk clerk told me it was a recurring problem with their TVs, so I understand they wouldn't be able to afford to replace them all when they aren't really broken.
Pros: Clean, comfortable, friendly housekeeping.
Cons: pool was under construction. No notice. Was scheduled to be open a month prior to our stay. Breakfast ended at 10 and on vacations that means no sleeping in. I know for a fact I left shorts and headphones in the room and they are gone. Called te hotel to go back and retrieve them and nobody found them. Only one day of wifi when I booked 2.
Pros: Clean, friendly, comfortable, decent breakfasts, big rooms, nicely decorated.
Cons: The food exceeded expectations, but the chemically treated pineapple was discolored and tasted fishy every day.
Pros: Every Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in has been very clean and comfortable. I think these are the 2 most important things concerning any motel stay, in my opinion.
Cons: Hampton Inns are kind of pricey. I'm sure this is a factor to many traveling people. On the other hand, "you get what you pay for."
Pros: Beautiful location, scenery, rooms. Great value. Restaurant food was reasonably priced and tasty. Because we were there with the Outdoor Women group we used the buffet and box lunches. No complaints there at all.
Cons: The paint peeling on the bathroom ceilings. The accumulation of cobwebs in various places (lights, windows). The employees' poor grammar, visible tattoos, cigarettes placed where guests could see them, and their use of mild swear words. I think some in-service workshops could really help them.
A great choice for a stay in Glouster, Burr Oak Lodge & Conference Center features a marina. The indoor pool is a great spot to take a dip, and guests can grab a bite to eat at Cardinal Dining Room, which serves American cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A bar/lounge and a fitness center are other highlights, and rooms offer conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
Cons: the stairwells aren't air conditioned, which made the manure that got tracked even more rank
Pros: My room was clean, had a fridge and a microwave. Bed was comfy and I wanted to steal the pillows, which I didn't and not just because there was some dye pack thing in them. Breakfast was typical, a carb fest, but the hard boiled eggs were a nice go to.
Cons: The walls are paper thin and my fridge was noisy.
Cons: Had to unplug the fridge in our room because it was so loud and the hot tub was broken.
Pros: This place could have been cleaner and better maintained.
Pros: Internet, a/c, tv, bed, shower, slept fine.
Cons: The non-smoking room smelled like cat urine and the carpet was damp by the sink and bathroom but literally wet beside the bed.
Couldn't do my morning stretched in the floor.
Wouldn't call the coffee, juice and little muffins offered breakfast, but the host did offer to make hot water for tea which I declined.
Pros: The room was clean and fresh looking. The beds were comfortable. The HVAC unit worked nicely. even the late night check in was friendly (1:25 am)!!! This is now our go to place when visiting Athens!
Cons: Towels were thin. Breakfast only until 9 am, after our 1:25 am check-in we missed breakfast. 10 am would have been nice but this was not a deal breaker!
Pros: Great location near the bike path and farmers market. Friendly staff. Very good price
Pros: Friendly stsff
Cons: Need to update electrical outlets to accomodate 3 prongs
Pros: Very clean room. Had fridge and microwave.
Cons: Pretty dated. Rough sheets. Had a slightly odd smell.
Pros: I usually try to avoid hotels under a certain price because you just don't know what you're going to get. But the cost of this hotel was half of what other hotels were and I got a clean and comfortable room. I was staying for one night to visit my son at Ohio U so all I needed was somewhere to sleep and shower. I stayed in the back building which is newer than the original main buidling. THere were not many frills, but overall I was very pleased and will definitely stay here again.
Pros: Everything was very clean. Front desk very helpful.
Cons: Rooms are a little outdated.
Pros: The beds were very comfotable and the location was excellent. The breakfast choices were limited but fresh and storef properly.
Cons: Rooms needed updated. Front staff person could have had more patience as we were checking in.
Cons: Poorly managed. Desk clerk not present at checkout
Pros: Distance to Ohio University wasn't bad.
Cons: Paid for room with two twin beds or a king. Got a room with a single and a roll away. Had to have staff fiddle with the shower to get it to work - it was "quirky". Towels were all the quality if floor towels. Battery on tv remote was dead.
Pros: Outskirts of Athens near highway, room had all basics
Cons: Room smelled like stale smoke even though it was a non smoking room; the air out of the AC, which is ancient, smelled awful; the water fixtures were old and did not work correctly - literally pulled off the handle at the sink when trying to turn it on; clothing iron was missing; booked online, so they didn't want to give me a receipt and then the one I got didn't have a price on it. It had all the basics, but could really use a good cleaning (bleach, carpet clean, aired out)
