Balestrate Hotels

A warm hotel, with a modern room. Friendly, motivated staff. 300 Meters from a nice beach. Has a small but nice pool. Silent airco in room. Good parking facilities. Beautiful location. Mostly a nice and clean hotel. Not every staff member can speak English. No warm water in the shower (This wasn't a problem due to the fact it was 30 degrees celsius outside.) If you stay at this hotel you must have a car to reach villages, bars etc. The hotel restaurant, although good, doesn't have a large menu. They closed the pool for a private party and left the pool area dirty the whole next day (This happend only once).

Very friendly staff, clean and nice room, nice pool area as well as the beach nearby. A bit noisy due to thin walls, especially in the mornings. The restaurant's selection of food wasn't that inspiring and didn't come up to 4-star standard. The hotel was situated far from the centre which made the visit very isolated as we didn't have a car. However, the staff was very friendly and even drove us into the centre one evening! Costa Azul works very well with rental car!

While not a particularly attractive building, the hotel was well maintained and the staff ( in particular, the receptionist, Linda and another young lady who served us at dinner) were friendly and helpful. The hotel is handy for Palermo airport, being about 20 miles away and it is an easy trip. The location is poor - in a fairly nondescript area some way outside the centre of Balestrate ( which did not appear to have much to offer anyway). It is close to a flyover. There is a large and quiet beach nearby ( the other side of a railway line) but it was littered and unkempt with no facilities of any kind.I would regard this as an "airport hotel" for a short stay and not as a "destination" in itself.

the only reason to stay here is to take a plane early morning, the airport is very close staff incompetent and unfriendly, the swimming pool very dirty, breakfast poor. we didn't have time as the menu did not read very inspiring, instead we went to the next village and had a great pizza somewhere on a roof terrace

Fit for purpose of being close to airport and easy to find. The pool is good Staff service is poor. No help with luggage. Design of the room is poor

The hotel was not clean. The shower curtain was filthy! The towels were old and smelled of vinegar. There were ants everywhere!! The rooms were dark and the bathroom had only one small dim light. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone!

Location very near airport. Beautiful pool area. Excellent dinner in dining room. Not easy to find in a tiny town off the highway. No airport transfers available even though it is located so near to it.

Property was beautiful, lovely landscaping, pool and grounds were lovely. room was large. Staff was friendly. Bed Coverlet was dirty Air conditioning did not work. door screens do not fit properly.

The hotel is close to the airport and appears to have a wide range of facilities. There was a wedding party the same night I was there. I was quite unhappy as I had booked late and I should have been advised (they knew for a while that there was a wedding that same night). It was extremely noisy and there were no rooms that were quiet (they switched me after I complained but it was not better). As I had a very early flight, I had asked for a breakfast box (the hotel was advised of this at the time of booking). Not only wasn't it not possible, I did not get more than 2 hours of sleep and the personal was rude. They gave me a 5 euro rebate on the price of the room because I did not get the breakfast afterall.

The private beach was generally nice and the water very clear. Also, it was nice to have a terrace and there was a great view from the room. The staff helped us to get transport to the airport very early on a Sunday morning. There were good restaurants across the street, we didn't eat in the hotel itself. Although the private beach was generally nice, it needed a cleaning as there was garbage, etc. about. The air conditioner in the room didn't really work.

Location was close to Palermo Airport (convenient for early morning flight), staff were very accommodating, and the hotel shuttle was reliably available for the early morning trip to the airport. Otherwise didn't have much time to explore the area. Some facilities did not appear in best condition. Room was quite warm upon arrival and vent/fan didn't help; had to open door to small balcony to cool room for sleeping. The meat served with the main course at dinner was seasoned overly salty.

View from the room. The price of the room was a bit high, but woerse than that was the 30euros for the set dinner. The food was very mediocre and that was very little choce.

It should not be classed as a 4 star its more a 3 star, which means the cost of staying does not justify the hotel.

pool and pool staff was ok the food was some of the worst i ever seen in italy, the buffet and breakfast was a disgrace. the service was very mixed, certainly no a place to return to. we chose the hotel because it was 2,3 km from the airport, that is completely not true, expect to pay 35€ for the taxi to the hotel. we were lucky and stayed there less than 24 hours, avoid at all costs

Open grounds We booked and paid for american breakfast but it was only available on our first day. We tried the buffet dinner and the food was unedible. Definetly not a four star resort!

Close to the Palermo airport, nice view from the pool area, nice little villages around (Cinisi), convenient for visiting Palermo (with own car), friendly staff at the swiming pool. Room equipment is quite old and a bit worn, very basic breakfast with lowest price items selected, I had seen the biggest ever cocroach in our bathroom, no possibility to get even a coffee when leaving hotel early (before breakfast is served).

I liked the sea, great swimming pool - large and deep. Beautiful area. Not a very good breakfast. The hotel is very expensive to eat - to 30 euros per person and lunch and dinner, and in the district are very few places where you can go. However, directly outside the gates of the hotel - great pizza with a decent kitchen - and very inexpensive.
