Very helpful & friendly staff
Friendly staff. great location. Hotel generally quite "tired"
Lovely big room in a hotel in a beautiful location. Owners were so helpful and friendly. Breakfast arrangements were super...didnt feel rushed at all.
Great setting, professional and friendly
The hosts were very friendly and nothing was too much for them. The view from our room even our bed was beautiful, our dog was very welcome which was great for us.It was very clean. Would have preferred proper shower and lino on bathroom floor. Also the bar to have been open a little later.
The Hotel was in a beautiful location, very clean and well maintained. The proprietors were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. We will be back to this Hotel again. No complaints.
Service , Location No evening meals
Something close to perfection, not a thing out of place, clean fantastic decor and fantastic owners Not one thing I can say was wrong or out of place, I would return anytime.
Excellent location and very welcoming and friendly; good breakfast.
The location was amazing - just a short walk across the garden and you are on the sea front. The hotel/guest house is fascinating, a real sense of times gone by, the view from both our room and the breakfast room were amazing - it's worth paying that bit extra for a sea view. It was a challenge finding eating establishments close by as the hotel does not do evening meals, but the staff provided a map and a list of places to try.
comfort and location
The friendly atmosphere, the very nice and clean rooms, the lovely food, the excellent service There was nothing at all that we didn't like
Wonderful location, sumptuous in terms of comfort and of course spotless spa and warm friendly staff N/A
Very disappointed with staff not very friendly and had requested on booking ( a room with sea view plus husband has dairy allergy which I had put on booking form but they couldnt cater for that told at breakfast by waitress that there was nothing they could offer thus we couldn't dine in hotel and had to go outside the hotel to dine.)
The leisure centre and the food we had no soap in our bathroom or drinking water. we stay at the Ardoe house regulary and is cheeper and more extras water etc
The hotel was very nice, had a bit of a wait for a table in the restraunt, which was busy, but they had a private function going on, so maybe should have had extra staff otherwise we had a very pleasant stay and would definately go again. no
excellent room with great sea view we were on fourth floor and lift was out of action
location .and warmth and friendliness of the staff. was a short pleasant walk to the town nothing
the location and setting of the hotel was lovely also the staff especially john on the bar where fantastic
Comfortable room and spacious. Great location. Very good food in Conservatory restaurant. Room was very cold on arrival - radiator was off. Took 24hrs for room to warm up properly. Would have expected the heating to have been put on in advance in November.
The food and the location I did expect the four poster bed, which clearly said on late booking .com this is the 3rd time late booking hads messed.
Food was exceptional Could not get good wifi signal in room but fine in communal area
The room, that ambience and the staff. nothing
wine selection was very good. staff were not very welcoming and some staff were not very helpful.
the welcoming fire in the hallway
Staff all very pleasant and helpful, despite multi tasking because of lack of numbers Hotel could have been warmer. Despite nice furnisjhings and being clean the coolness gives a feeling of being unwelcome
The staff were very pleasant and helpful and everyone made the effort to chat and make residents comfortable.
It was like stepping back in time to a former era. The ambience was lovely and we had a excellent meal next to an open fire which was the highlight of our visit. Our bedroom was beautifully furbished and the hospitality provided was first class. The only complaint we would have is that the bed (which was a kingsize) was rather hard.
Good food & polite/helpful staff Some decor & gardens look somewhat 'tired'
Spacioous room, satellite tv in room
Comfortable room, warm welcome, good breakfast. Lack of information about the immediate locality (lots of info about other places!)
Despite the November chill the room was warm and cosy with a very comfortable bed. Very quiet hotel.
The food was excellent and the staff very friendly The hotel had an old fashioned style which could be updated . the paper in the ceiling of the bedroom was coming offand the grouting in the bathroom was mouldy but these are minor points .
The friendliness of the staff; the help that was extended to us as disabled people; the bed; the room; the outlook; the restaurant; the breakfast room; the bar; the relaxation that we had due to the hotel staff: The coffee; both at dinner and breakfast:
We were stranded at Perth due to road closure. We were welcomed by the staff and found them to be friendly and helpful. There was little attempt to make the car park safe and clear of snow and ice. However the weather was very unusual and shovels and salt were available for use by residents.
location service decent room
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms were excellent, very comfortable and superb value at £50 per single room. The dinner menu was varied and good value and the staff were efficient and friendly. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. No
it was a business trip.so not a lot of time to do anything except go for a nice walk it was very empty no one at the bar or restaurant so was happy to eat in my room
The room was spacious with a lovely view over to the firth. The public areas were also grand.
Happy to print out my boarding pass
Warm, comfortable & good service Nothing
peace and quiet
Good location, friendly staff. The evening meal was disappointing and areas of Hotel were rather grubby. The price of £3.95 for a bottle of water was OTT.
Friendlyness of staff No working internet, despite being included in the price. No spa facilities.
the owners and staff were very nice and helpful
The owner made himself known to us and was very agreeable - and ensured the smooth running of the hotel by his presence in the hotel. No
Friendly & Helpful Staff
Leaving on the following morning The bed was next to the corridor and when anyone walked down it the bed vibrated and the noise was unbarable. The pillows were filled with cotton wool balls hard! As though they had been washed and lost their shape badly. The food was hot but average condition.
The smell of damp in the reception and bar. being overcharged in the bar.
Quietness of the Village and the area surrounding the Hotel. Its proximity to many places of interest and beaches etc.. The Juke Box in the Bar and Dining Area. Very intrusive and out of keeping with everything else about the Hotel. it also annoyed other Diners.
Everything about the hotel was excellent. Location was excellent for using public transport, with buses passing the door hourly to either Inverness or Aberdeen and locations on route. Food most enjoyable and all in all a very people frendly place to say. nothing that we didn't like about our stay
Clean, comfortable, very good service. Stayed here a few times on business and enjoy as always made welcome. Less impersonal than the other places that I have stayed in the area.
the staff was good we had my grandaughter who is 10 and they had a good children menu we ask fo a early breakfast as she was swimming at a gala at forress at 8.30 and that was no promblen at all.
Staff very friendly. No hair dryer in room.
As a lone traveller, the staff made me feel very welcome, comfortable and were very helpful. The location was also great! There was no phone in my room (the only room in the hotel without a phone), having said that, the hotel let me use their phone free of charge to call home!
The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. The meals were of a very high standard.
I had planned a golfing outing at the Royal Dornoch Golf Course and wanted a bit of a splurge, something besides the B&B route. You filled the bill magnificently. Wonderful staff, lovely room, excellent all around.
The Bed! The cat!
Nice location, good food Small room, over priced
Superbly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff, phenomenal bar with lots of character, great location, and fantastic food (breakfasts and suppers)! We would happily return - and stay longer!
Comfortable, welcoming, nice atmosphere - lovely fires & upstairs lounge
I found the level of service from the staff very high as they were very welcoming and very attentive. I was upgraded room free of charge as the hotel was quiet that evening which was a nice touch. Having a drink in front of the open fire was a real luxury. My only dissapointment was that I was not arriving until 7.45pm and I was told the kitchen closed at 8pm. I felt a bit as if it was suggested I have something to eat before I arrived. A party of 4 young people also came into the hotel around 8.30pm looking for a meal but were turned away. I think in the current economic climate the hotel should not be turning away potential business
outside sitting area bar too small restricted menu if staying for more than one night
CLean, friendly, attention to detail good, staff pleasant and happy with their work
excellent breakfast and eveningmeal dodgy shower
Very nice room in a central location in Nairn. Great views of the Firth
Very friendly staff, lovely location, great bar and tasty food. Room was a decent size. Very pleasant stay. A few minor things were missing, like shower gel, that I would expect from a 3-star hotel.
There was a large selection of Real Ales. The broadband connection didn't work.
Cleanliness and friendliness of the staff All perfect
the food was very good, and location was handy just a few hundred yards from town centre. the room view was lovely, until you look down below the window to a skip full of rubbish and bins.therefore unable to keep window open due to fly's coming into the room.
Nice small family run hotel with a great location. Bar can be a bit lively with a fight breaking out with some locals. Room was a bit small, no car park however ok in off-season as you can park on street. Summer would be another matter.
The people Nothing it was exactly as described in the website even down to pointing out which rooms can be affected by noise.
Excellent customer service, food outstanding, gorgeous room, would stay again definately.
Friendly easy going atmosphere, excellent real ale bar, good restaurant
Too many stairs-this needs to be made clear in advert as there was no lifts for anyone with a walking problem
room was clean and en suite was very clean too. Would have preferred a bit more peace at breakfast.
Very welcoming and genial hosts, food and accommodation excellent; homely and friendly atmosphere.
The owners/staff are very welcoming and considarate.
Without doubt this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The food is out of this world, the attention to detail by the owners of the hotel is astonishing, if it wasn't so far away we would visit on a regular basis.
A very enjoyable weekend
Friendly and helpful owner
Very good meals, they tried hard to please.
We very much enjoyed our stay. staff were very attentive. breakfast was excellent and very well stocked and presented.
Food was reliably superb. Staff extremely helpful and attentive . Grounds were beautiful. Rooms s comfortable mix of contemporary and vintage. Hotel manager went out of his way to make your stay wonderful. Nothing, this was the highlight of our two week trip in terms of hotels.
A lovely traditional hotel with well-kept gardens and interior
Large bath, Large room, Excellent view, Luxurious furnishings No
Outstanding Highland Country House Hotel - from the log fire in the sumptuous lounge to the unobtrusive but excellent service. This felt like being a house party guest - but without any pressure at all. Room superb, breakfast super. Overall top marks - will definitely be back!
Room, View, breakfast - thoroughly enjoyable night.
I enjoyed the warm and inviting nature of the hotel. All the staff were very friendly and enthusiastic. I would have like a fridge in the room.
Spacious comfortable quiet picturesque friendly easily accessible quality food warm reasonably priced lovely views well kept surroundings and buildings
excellent food and friendly service. Beautiful location above the Cromarty Firth.
The relaxed atmosphere and the staff who although were there if you needed them were not intrusive. Food was exquisite with a few little unexpected treats produced during the evening meal. Our room was immediately above the hotel's entrance and we were disturbed a few times by banging doors. However, we understand that this cannot be helped and it in no way put us off returning to this wonderful Hotel.
warm welcome, lovely rooms, great views. slow bar service due to wedding
Beautifully refurbished building, lovely meals and friendly, helpful staff. The open fire in the lounge area was lovely too. Nothing!
