Cons: Difficult to access parking area with car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and staff. I travel a lot and they are I the top 100%. The guy in the restaurant, Head Chap, is brilliant. An example of staff service. Went to bat for a drink before dinner. Waiting on my partner. Only one stool at bar. Guy behind bar never said a word and 5 mins later he had gone and got another stool. Then brought my wine into the restaurant. Nice concierge service for car. Absolutely tip notch.
Cons: Could do with a gym.

Pros: Service was outstanding. Very clean. Comfortable.
Cons: No dislikes
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant, especially Lauren. The breakfast was quite varied and more than satisfying. Room was large and comfortable.
Cons: They could offer conditioner, not just shampoo. That's all I can think of.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is located right in the middle of Galway and has wonderful character. It took us a while to locate the garage, but we were really glad to have hotel parking. Fergle was an amazing help with luggage and the car. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. Again, the ambiance was terrific. We hope to return someday!
Cons: We think the sign for the parking could be higher up if zoning permits.
7.1 Good
Pros: Big comfortable room. Staff were good. Good cooked breakfast choices.
Cons: One breakfast choice was very disappointing; the cheese board. A few slices of not very interesting cheese. Pricey; yes it was nice but not sure it warranted that cost.

Pros: Ambiance of main floor. Excellent bell, restaurant and bar staff.
Cons: Only real issue was finding parking despite information provided.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location was very central yet away from noisy streets. Service was good.
Cons: The decor is quite outdated, out of the 80s-90s. The mattress in the room was uncomfortable- every movement of your partner will shake the entire bed. There was a very bright safety light by the entrance of the room - while we understand the safety reasons, this light was too bright and was not letting us sleep. Breakfast selection was poor. We were expecting more for the price that we paid
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, convenient, great restaurant and room was cozy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was great and the bed was comfy.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a stunning hotel in a beautiful location. It was more than I was expecting and worth every extra cent!
Cons: The weather. But I can’t blame the hotel for that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Luxury, comfort, friendliness, beauty. Just a couple words that come to mind about this majestic place. Best place we stayed during our entire Ireland tour and HIGHLY recommend it to everyone.
1.0 Poor
Pros: There is so much to love about the Glenlo Abbey - the property is beautiful. The structure & design is really lovely. The bellman & the concierge are dressed in formal Irish/hotel attire - wonderful detail. The people who work at the Abbey are supremely kind. The breakfast is superb - truly superb. The views are spectacular. The rooms are spacious & lovely (we had a view of the golf course & the water behind it).
Cons: During our stay, the hotel was undergoing extensive & VERY LOUD construction. That construction was taking place on the other side of the wall of our room. Think jackhammer noise directly on the other side of your room. We took it in stride initially & went down to the beautiful sitting room where the fireplace was lit & we could order a beer. In the sitting room, several men were "installing a speaker" which required removal of a good portion of the ceiling - wires, boards, ladders & a LOT of noise intermittently throughout the time we spent there. Again, we took it in stride & enjoyed our Carlsbergs. We read & ignored the noise considering it would be temporary & if it became too much, we could just go back to the room to get away from the noise. Not the case - when we had reached our noise threshold there, we tried to go back to the room. The construction noise had gotten louder. (I have video) At that point, we asked the staff. The front desk said the construction would end at 6pm. I asked how early it would start the next morning (we were incredibly tired & needed the rest desperately). They said it wouldn't begin any earlier than 10am and assured me they were "sorting it out". Such good news-we could sleep in. So we waited it out in the sitting room - luckily the speaker got fully installed & the room was back in order after about 90 or so minutes of work & noise downstairs. After 6:30pm, the workers on the other side of our room were done for the day. We enjoyed dinner in the cellar restaurant that night. Good food, service & atmosphere. That night we set our alarms for a late morning (as late as possible to still enjoy the breakfast). Sure enough, 7:20am came around & the work began. LOUD. Jackhammer level with a combination of a T-Rex approaching our room. We couldn't leave the hotel fast enough. The staff comped our evening meal.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beauty and Peace.
7.1 Good
Cons: Property a little dated.Lacking warmth and comfort.Curtains to light for morning sunshine
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our room was spacious enough to allow relaxation and to do stretches on the carpeted floor. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. Breakfast was really good, with choice of cereals and yoghurts, hot breakfast and a variety of cakes. The location is lovely and convenient to Galway city and surrounds if you have a car.
Cons: We could hear other guests talking and closing doors as they came in at night and when going downstairs in the morning. Lights were shining from a house behind (seemingly attached to Atlantic Lodge) and we could see them shining through the curtains all night and another light from a place next door came very brightly through the bathroom window.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Great breakfast! Great Quality stay
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Layout of room way wrong Bed was located behind the door which opened on to thebed .. Drought from door during the night left it uncomfortable
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was spotless, airy and spacious. Bed linen white, crisp, ironed pillowcases and sheets. Large and shiny white bathroom with sufficient toiletries. Sms message was sent how to get into the house in the event the owners were unavailable and the directions how to enter the house were straightforward. Parking free and available in front of the house or on the street.
Cons: Complete lack of personal touch. Not sure if this is the usual practice, or one off case. The Sms advised us how to retrieve the key as the owners might be out for our arrival, but at the end the proprietors had not showed up at all. It would have been nice to be able to have some human contact at the place, even if to ask for some local recommendations. An old fashioned map of Galway would also be a welcomed addition. Very sugary breakfast, sugar laden cakes and pastries in large selection, cereals, pancakes, Tesco brand yoghurts. No fresh fruit, tinned fruit only.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were happy with quiet location and the view from our room. It was clean, friendly and communication was most efficient.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great Breakfast and lovely location if you wish a quite place to relax not too far from Galway night life :)

Pros: - Home cooked breakfast combined with fruit & cereals buffet was very good. - The owners were very friendly and gave useful tips for restaurants etc. - Nice sitting room downstairs for having evening tea.
Cons: - The mattress was quite good but the pillows were huge, so it was not very good for neck. But I'm sure there would have been smaller pillows available. We just forgot to ask.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was convenient to accessing the City Centre and yet removed from the busyness and noise of it. Mike and Breeda are wonderful caring hosts and people. They took time to help us plan our visit to Galway and the surrounding area. The breakfasts were wonderful and extensive as was the dining area. They also truly seem to love operating Ardawn House.

Pros: The staff was amazing and super helpful with everything including accommodation of last minute laundry requests, good sightseeing suggestions and helping with odd check-in and check-out times! The place seemed to be really well kept given the size and heavy traffic of the place!
Cons: The bedding ( blankets) was a tad uncomfortable and the room seemed to have poor ventilation so it was a bit stuffy. Could have just been the bed and room ended up with though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Curtains on the bunks
Cons: The stairs up to reception are a killer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I´m glad we picked this hostel for our first visit of Galway. The guys at the reception were very helpful, recommending parking and beaches. Pros: I have travelled a lot over the years and stayed in many hotels and B&Bs in many different countries and I have to say Balcony House in Galway has to be the best B&B I have ever stayed in! Teresa the owner was a wonderful woman, welcoming, friendly and boy, does she keep a beautiful, clean, comfortable establishment. The décor and embellishments are classy and tasteful throughout all the public areas of the house. Our beds were comfy, the room was spacious, and so was the immaculately clean bathroom. The breakfast was amazing value and huge! I had a great Irish breakfast every morning cooked to perfection, but the woman bakes and serves an array of delicious cakes every morning as well! The location of the house is about 6 minutes walk into the town and has free onsite parking. I highly recommend this B&B and if I'm ever in Galway again I will definitely book with Teresa again. Many thanks for making our stay so memorable

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great communication, Mike is a very gentle person. Location is very good with parking. Breakfast is perfect, Mike will prepare for you whatever you want and serve you as an original traditional Irish breakfast. Fully recommended, value for money.
Cons: Double bed is small, but OK you can afford it for one night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing home-made breakfast!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful clean home. Mike and his wife are lovely. Wait staff girls were wonderful!
Cons: It’s a bit far away from the city life. About 11 euros (one way) to taxi into city, but worked well for us as we spent time there doing tours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was delicious and there was a variety of food options. The host was very welcoming and friendly. There are a number of parking spaces in front of the house and the property is located about 10 minutes away from the city center.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, walking distance to downtown and the river walk area, but far enough away for some peace and quiet when you want it. Wonderful breakfast, accommodating staff with helpful tips on sightseeing options. Neat and clean facilities. Highly recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owners were very helpful and friendly. The location was a 5-10 minute walk to town and very close to the bus station. Nice neighborhood away from the central city noise. We would definitely stay here again.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Silence
Cons: I was in 108 room and i waked up with a strong smell from the kitchen
7.0 Good
Pros: Clean and convenient for city centre.
Cons: Misleading information, described as B & B accommodation, only after booking in are you informed that breakfast is self service next door but one and you will be charged 8 euros per person. The room was small and cramped, double bed with a single bed wedged beside it. The bathroom was tiny any person larger than average would not fit in it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and owners
Cons: Nothing all good
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice house and very well located. Just 10’ walk from Main Street shops and bars.
Cons: It has no elevator for luggage
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was clean and the staff was helpful. They also offer laundry services and can get your clothes back to you in two hours.
Cons: The room had 4 beds despite the fact that it was just the two of us. The staff was kind and helpful, the room was clean but it felt more like a dormitory then a B&B.

7.1 Good
Pros: Decor interesting and good looking. Playful furnishings. Attractive chairs and wallpaper in rooms. Bathroom very clean and modern. Shower was strong and tile very clever. Bed and linens very comfortable. Room was quiet. Beautiful wood Floor. Bar inviting with lively lighting.
7.9 Good
Pros: Reception Staff excellent on our arrival. We were offered a fruit juice while we were checking in which was welcome. Our room was in a quiet area of the Hotel which I had requested. Excellent Comfy bed and a nice big room which also had a safe and a fridge.
Cons: We were disappointed with Breakfast. I had requested to substitute the cheese in my omelette with tomato but got the tomato on the side. My husband had the full fry-up and was also disappointed with his eggs being hard on the edges and overall not a good breakfast. We had a power cut on Saturday evening for well over an hour and a half and as this Hotel had not a Generator we were left in semi darkness for this time. The power came on again at 6.30pm. I thought the Hotel would have taken on this inconvenience and given us some sort of compensation eg a Lunch Voucher. The rate for this Hotel of €190 B/B for 2 people is totally overpriced and certainly would not pay this rate for this Hotel again.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Bar in the room. Food was good.
Cons: Low seating for evening meal uncomfortable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, quirky, soft lighting, comfortable beds; organic toiletries were great for hair and skin!
Cons: Our evening meal at the bistro was just ok; good service though
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Comfortable rooms. Good food. Welcoming hospitable staff. We will return.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: “West” Restaurant is great. We dined there twice.
Cons: Terrible hotel — noisy, most rooms look over the parking lot, sewer smell in the bathroom and hallway, ugly mismatched chairs in the bedroom, room not made up until late afternoon. The place has supposedly won awards, but I have no idea why. Staff confused about everything and could not even get our bill correct on checkout.
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely spacious room with record player and vinyl to play. Quite unique and a really nice surprise. Staff were lovely. Food is amazing! We will return!!
Cons: This is a tiny negative and not a reflection of the hotel or staff just something the hotel may want to improve upon in the future.... In the restaurant we ordered the beef for 2 persons for my husband and daughter which was plentiful for them. I ordered a lamb dish with sweetbreads which was minuscule in comparison. I ended up sharing the beef dish with my family! However, don’t let this put you off because it the food was beautiful, exquisite! but portions were a little inconsistent. The doors, skirtings, and some areas were very dusty in the bathroom & bedroom. A bit weird considering all other areas were spotless.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From start to finish 5 star treatment, from staff to the room and the food excellent. Bakery next door gorgeous. I could have brought my little dog as they are a dog friendly hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The reception staff were amazing - super friendly and helpful and they really make the place. The bar staff were great (especially Dylan), really friendly and attentive.
Cons: The only downside is that there is no common quiet space to relax and unwind - there is reception, bar and restaurant but no lounge per se. Breakfast was a bit of a miss with the staff not staying on top of the various tables and orders - after being asked to seat ourselves we were then left waiting for some service and ended up having to get one of the staff's attention. This happened on a couple of mornings.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The Twelve Hotel is extremely stylish, comfortable, and has a lively bar with a great selection of beers, wines, and drinks. We didn't eat in the restaurant but heard it was superb. The breakfasts were excellent. There was covered parking that was adjacent to the hotel and easy to access.
Cons: The Hotel is about a 15 minute drive from downtown Galway. In some ways, that was a plus as it got you away from the traffic and the crowds, but we did have to drive or take a taxi to/from dinner and the evening's entertainment.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Anything we asked for was given and the hospitality of all staff was exceptional from the cleaners to the service at breakfast and dinner. Our room was spotless and our view from the window looked over Galway city. Even though the traffic was busy, the noise was inaudible which make our stay refreshing and highly enjoyable. Thank you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property had a very good layout, it was clean, tidy and very well presented.
Cons: The bar staff was very slow when ordering a drink from the bar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Pros: The receptionist was good. Really helped us a lot. The room was clean with a great location.
Cons: Everything was good except that a lot of noise was coming from the corridor especially in the morning around 7. I presume it was from the housekeeping staff. Maybe that is something to work on.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were super helpful. We were not able to get into two rooms when we arrived (approximately 5 p.m.) which was surprising at that late hour. But we survived. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I'm not sure it is within a comfortable walk of the old city, but we were not able to test that out. It looked closer on the map. But it is a short cab ride away. However, the hotel is a good location as a base for driving to sites outside of Galway. It was easy to access from the motorways.
Cons: The fire alarms went off in a few short blasts each night we were there. The first night, it was a malfunction. The second night it was somebody making tea, according to staff. Either way, a fire alarm at 1:30 or 4:30 in the morning does not sound good.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff v helpful
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great room
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location. Cost circa Euro 10 taxi to galway city. Parking excellent with plenty space. Public areas spotless, well furnished and decorated. Breakfast great!
Cons: Our room (brown door or predominantly white doors at end of a corridor) needed some TLC as nowhere near as well refurbed as public areas.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Liked the comfy bed and extra pillows. The breakfast was extremely good.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely clean room and I have a hot bath. Super comfy bed and friendly helpful staff
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant bar. Excellent music.
Cons: No free breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Yes, it is a little loud just like the other reviews say. But if you want a lively place, this is a GREAT location! The noise is part of the energy. Parking garage is close and reasonably priced. Staff was very nice and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location right by the Spanish Arch area on Quay St. It is above the 1520 Pub so if you're an early turner-inner there is sound fromt he hustle and bustle on the street. Nothing bad, but have some earplugs if you're overly sensitive to sounds while sleeping. Clean and modern.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was good for the pub experience. Right above the street of the main tourist thoroughfare. The hotels pub Resturant is a nice place for a drink
Cons: You cannot drive to the front of the hotel to check in first before parking. The website says parking can be arranged however what they don’t say is that it is in a public garage about 400meters away.. but dragging your bags through the parking garage is no easy feat. We were given a room with a disability bathroom.. which did not match our booking details. Room also smelt of fish and chips. Luckily another room was available. Low floor and right on the Main Street of the Spanish/Latin quarter. Street noise a large factor. The windows do stop most of the noise and they have a dyson fan to cool the room but in the middle of summer it would be way to hot to sleep with the windows closed. We had no hot water for our shower in the evening. The staff on duty just said there was nothing they could do. The management of this issue was poorly done. All of this is not a big deal if this hotel wasn’t trying so hard to be an up market boutique type hotel. It is a quirky lower to middle of the range hotel for a big night out in Galway. Nothing more
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very central location
Cons: Very busy street so a bit noisy at times but there are insulated windows
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Liked the location and the room was beautiful.
Cons: Music from downstairs went on until 2:00am on our last night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is exceptional- in the heart of Galway and within easy walking distance to all of the main sights and restaurants. The bar and restaurant downstairs is great for a pint and live music. The room was large and well-appointed, with great toiletries included, as well as a Nespresso machine. Clean and comfortable! We'll be back!
Cons: Because of the location, it did get a bit noisy with trucks clearing bottles in the morning, and we could easily hear neighbouring guests opening and closing their doors numerous times.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel was perfect, and there is a parking garage right next door. The rooms were updated and modern, and the bathrooms were nice and spacious. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The room we had was a bit small (although we did book last minute, and it was the only one available), and we just had a view of another wall.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location is very good. And everything was clean and cozy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, sound proof windows, rooms beds
Cons: Slow checking in, although booked together & months prior to arrival our rooms were not together.. they were not even on the same floor

6.7 Good
Pros: The interior decor, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was great

9.2 Excellent
Pros: One of the evenings we made our own dinner and we missed one item to complete te dish, the staff helped us out! Great. First experience in a guesthouse, it will not be the last one!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is my second time to stay here. It's a lovely, pleasant and relaxing hostel in the beautiful surroundings of Salthill. Brilliant breakfast, individual coffee cafetieres and muesli jars left ready with different breads and pastries to choose from.
Cons: The only thing that could be improved is the narrow steps on the bunk bed ladders. They are probably in most hostels but a bit sore on the feet when your wrestling yourself up onto the top bunk.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Coffee is the best available in Ireland roasted in County Kildare
Cons: Great experience staff where super friendly

Pros: Friendly staff and clean environment
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and self catering option
Cons: TV didn't work and after asking twice it still wasn't attended to ! Try and ask for a room not facing the alley
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice Lounge and very nice and neat accommodation. The staff was very helpful and always ready to help and support customers needs. They provide storage room for the customer to keep their stuff, good service.
Cons: They did not provide remote control in the room, which not convenient for watching the TV in the room. The heater was centralised and not able to control or adjust. Not provide cattle for boiling water. Need to go to the Lounge to get water.

Pros: The location was great - very central. The bathrooms were clean and modern and the communal spaces welcoming and comfortable.
Cons: The bed mattress was very springy - sort of felt like a camp bed mattress.

Pros: we have a big room, the Breakfast was great, is a Buffet. The Pizza in the Restaurant are very good.
7.0 Good
Pros: The restaurant was good.
Cons: The heating and air conditioning were faulty and inconsistent with a noisy battle between the hot radiator and air conditioning fan all night. The shower did not work well. We had to ask for toiletries.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfy rooms, lovely restaurant.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and clean, literally a five minute walk from Claregalway Castle where we were attending the Medieval Armoured Combat Claregalway Shield. Check in was easy, room was spacious and clean. The evening meals in the restaurant were amazing, especially the lamb shank and seafood chowder with wonderful homemade brown bread.
Cons: Breakfast, though very reasonably priced, was limited if you didn’t want a fry up. It could have done with more of a continental selection of cheeses, meats and pastries.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly - particularly restaurtant and reception.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very nice and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Service in the restaurant. Not enough staff. Staff that were working were running around trying to look after guests. Twenty minutes waiting for 2 bowl of chowder

Cons: Unfortunately the glass I received at breakfast was dirty
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A nice, clean, modern hotel. Friendly and helpful staff members all around. Plenty of parking to go around. A decently sized room, and a nice swimming pool that our kids enjoyed very much. Next door is a small Centra where you can score a decent and quick breakfast if you are in a rush. A larger supermarket is a few hundred metres further. Galway itself is not far away. The restaurant is excellent too.
