The location, great. The bikes on site, nice addition. However, would be nice if the shop/market had more food choices.
Cons. Very fun place to stay. We took advantage of their complimentary bikes and rode into town. Definitely an outdoor vibe to the place. Catering to the biking and outdoor adventure crowd. Enjoyed the Hamic hanging in the middle of the room. We sat outside around the gas fireplaces in the evening. This place was a lot of fun to stay. Not expecting this type of room when I booked it but very happy about it.
Pros. Hammock in the room?! Um...yes please! Also, they also placed a Yeti cooler in the room that can take with you on day trips while you're staying at this magical place. Pet-friendly, great outdoor area, heated pool, jacuzzi, and a cool outdoor store with lots of things that you will want to spend your hard-earned dollars on! There's a community smoker outside. I mean...it's pretty awesome. The assistant manager, Ross, tells me that they are in the process of adding more details such as a cafe with 10 Barrel beer, tent camping, a hostel, and deluxe rooms. I'm definitely going back for outdoor concerts, movies, etc. This place is a great find! Happy that we got snowed on during our backpacking trip and retreated to this haven. Oh yeah, mountain bikes for rent and free city bikes to use. And trails that start from the lodge. Need I say more? Love this place!
Cons. $25 pet fee for dog, but that’s pretty standard I guess. The receptionist forgot to tell me over the phone, so it was a bit of a surprise when I checked into the lodge.
Pros. Location was great. It was once a nice place to stay back in the 70's. It's like taking a step back in time. Rooms are rustic, including the furniture and smell. Also, expect bugs in your room because it is rustic. A plus is that there is hot water for showers and the water doesn't come out brown. Pool is nice for kids. Trails nearby are nice as well. Cheaper place to stay near my bachelor. Set up as a ski motel. It is nice place to stay if you are into the vintage and rustic scene. Staff are entertaining. They won't provide you with great service, but they are happy to engage you in lively conversation and good suggestions for all things outside of the hotel/motel.
Cons. If you get a room in the back area, don't expect any wifi reception. Apparently, pet friendly rooms are closer to the front. If you get a room at the very front, you will probably have a better experience. Breakfast is muffins, juice, and coffee. Would have been nice to have some fruit. When they run out of coffee, they are in no hurry to refill the coffee containers. The front desk conveniently took their break during the morning breakfast rush. Hot tub was broken as well, hopefully it's not their ongoing line that it just broke this morning. They provide towels for the pool at the front desk, but they are small. You are better off brining a towel from your room. Expect your tv to lose reception as well. It wasn't raining but it was like watching satellite tv in a rainstorm at times. Place has potential to be a nice motel/hotel but it's run down and old.
Pros. Great location with trails for walking, running, biking.
Cons. The muffins were tasty and fresh, but we would have preferred a few more options for breakfast.
Pros. It was a great stay! Beautiful setting & friendly staff. Will stay here again!
Cons. The bedding looked like it had been slept in, there were both dead and live bugs in the room.
