Room was large, clean if a bit Spartan. Nicely located on the long promenade, 20 minute stroll to the port area. Parking facilities. Good Italian style breakfast, with plenty of fruit, juices, coissants etc. Excellent restaurant. We paid c. 60 euro for two course meal with wine, brandy and coffee for two, with additional complimentary courses. There are a few other restaurants within a 20 mins stroll. Large swimming pool (must wear swim cap) with plenty of sun beds. Staff were helpful, even though little English is spoken in this region. Weather in August was excellent but hot (30C plus). Air conditioned rooms. The hotel's lido is decking on rocks and requires (hefty) daily entrance charges. No sandy beaches in this region. Bisceglie is not the best town for restaurants. Trani (7km drive away) is much prettier and has many restaurants (recommend Carpe Diem in a side street leading to the port area), so you need to hire a car. Shower cubicle was small.
It ws ok Parking difficult, not made welcome
Location It was a little old and worn.
The staff were very helpful, the hotel served a good range of food for breakfast, and the location was on the coast and very relaxing N A
To be honest we didn't like it at all. The staff wasn't good at all. The service very unpleasant. To swim in the pool, you should wear a rubber cap they sell to you! We had a very uncomfortable night because of a gas leakage started in our room's refrigerator. Was 03.00 o'clock in the morning.
facile accessibilità, buona posizione
breakfast the reception, one person was very friendly, the other person was a bit "cool".
Location right on water
The sea is just under the windows. The staff is qualified and ready to answer any your question. The hotel environment is quiet and relaxing.
Very pleasant staff. Very clean . Nice pool Not much to do in the surrounding area. Fine as an overnight stay
Room was very hot. Air conditioner was inadequate.
The hotel staff members were very accommodating.. .specifically the front desk personnel. The beds were horrible.
The pool was very good, the rooms comfortable and clean. I arrived there at 3 in the afternoon and found it impossible to get any lunch as the restaurant was closed. Secondly the staff were not very friendly or polite. They did not even smile pleasantly. Thirdly they did not return my passport and subsequently I had to drive a 630 Km round trip to retrieve it.
The hotel was very clean and well organised, staff were very helpful. A secure integral car park was a bonus. None!
We had a lovely seaview with balcony and it would have been nice to have tea/coffee making faciliteies in the room. The pool area was very comfortable with padded mattresses, plenty of room. I think the hotel area at beach should be free to hotel guests not 3 eurs discount as ofered!!! (price for 2 sun loungers/umbrella is 35 euros so we had to pay 32 euros!!!
Very nice hotel with all the services. Very helpful front desk staff.
Many thanks to recepionist, Hotel neds maintenance. There is no beach at all. Avoid this place for romantic stay or for a family.
- basically everything ok - staff always nicely available - breakfast with local traditional products not applicable
AArrived quite late, staff happy to see us and quite happy toserve us with a drink and snacks in the bar. no, not really , just alittle difficult to find at night.
Excellent health facilities, gym, 2 pools etc.
just slpet there
The staff were extremely friendly & helpful (although see separate complaint return) and the facilities were of a high standard. We were even chauferred in the owner's (Angelo) Rolls Royce. It was too far from the town centre (Bisceglie). Our main aim, however, was to be near Bari, so it wasn't too much of an issue.
The staff were very helpful
even if I stayed at the hotel only for one night, having attended Bari for going to the Italy v. Rep. of Ireland soccer match, very kind and helpful in facilitating commuting between Bisceglie/Bari distance fron railway,s station
It was the best value for money we have ever had for a short trip abroad and the facilities far exceeded our expectations. The information correctly reflected the facilities at the hotel. Wonderful garden wit colored flower and perfect Staff of receptionist, very kindly
The hotel is lovely - breakfast was served outside in an area surrounded by some lovely flowers and shrubs. Breakfast was ample - lots of fresh seasonal fruits, yoghurts, bread, croissants, preserves, cheese, and on one day some hard boiled eggs. Fab pizzeria 50 metres from the hotel which was useful as the hotel restaurant did not open all week. Yes - beware when buying drinks from the hotel bar. Very expensive - and the barman added 8 euros onto our bar bill (one round of drinks) one evening 'for service' I wouldn't recommend using the bar - the pizzeria has a lovely bar area, and is half the price of the hotel bar.
the breakfast no
You should mention that the town of bisceglie has very little if not no taxis available and if you require picked up from the train station for example you need to call the hotel first so they can pick you up
Everthing because the restarant is not open
good breakfast, good staff
Beautiful hotel, renovated in a stylish and elegant fashion. Gorgeous room and bathroom. Excellent location. Attentive staff. Gourmet breakfast. Dinner was exquisite and very reasonably priced. No view from bedroom (although view from terrace restaurant was superb). Dim lighting in room.
The Marè Resort & Spa is situated in a noble Palace in the center of Trani (Puglia). The hotel is discreet and quite despite its lofty setting. The owners are simple, friendly and caring. The interior decoration was undertaken by a Milanese firm that supplied everything from furnishings to bed-cloth and tableware in harmonized colours whilst the refurbishing of the Palace was dealt by a Roman architect who ingeniously restructured the 13 bedrooms and entrance plus terrace to make the place modern, luxurious and spacious.
Yes! Hotel was 30 miles away from the central train station. The locator map appears to make it much, much closer. Although the hotel was nice, my wife and I would not have stayed this far away as we had a 6am eurorail ride to Rome the next day. In addition, we arranged for a 5:45 cab ride for the quick trip to the Bari train station. The cab never showed up. At 5:56 am, the night desk clerk literally locked the front door to the hotel and drove us in his personal car to the train station. While I applaud his extra effort and tipped accordingly, a hotel charging this amount and in this class should not have a problem arranging a simple and reliable cab ride.
The spa was not open.
Wonderful design. Good staff. Excellent position.Very quiet at night. Excellent view from room. The first room I was shown was dark and not appealing. I requested another.
Our (superior category) room was spacious comfortable, and quiet. From the 3 windows in the room we had a fantastic view of the cathedral and harbor. Large modernized bathroom. The hotel has been very nicely restored. Great staff. Breakfast, served in the former chapel, was excellent. It was easy to drive to (plenty of signs) and free parking was available right by the hotel. It's in a good location for walking in the historic center, along the harbor, to restaurants, and to shopping streets. A small point but in a hotel this nice I would have expected to have a place in the shower to set soap and shampoo.
Nice rooms, nice location, very friendly and helpful staff
Excellent comfortable bedroom and luxury bathroom.
Our room was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view of the harbor. The shower handle was broken. The staff could have been more helpful with respect to figuring out a call to a frencg cell phone.
The hotel staff was friendly and recommended a wonderful restaurant for dinner. The hotel looked beautiful with spacious surroundings. The breakfast was good with an excellent view of the sea. On the internet it claimed a kids playground and swimming pool, we didn't see the playground and the pool was closed to the public. We thought it would have some beach frontage but was only concrete with tables and then rocks to the water, which would have been nice to know beforehand.
clean, nice and very well kept, family oriented
Uncomfortable beds. Very difficult to get to following directions based on booking.com site.
The tremendous helpfulness of the staff, the divine comfort of the room, waking to see dawn over the Adriatic, the very best breakfast etc etc no
The location next to the cathedral and the castle was ideal
Great location, great staff and rooms were spacious and very clean.
you could not get a better location. parkign might have been difficult but it wasnt . the sea views and view to the cathedral are fantastic. its quiet and beautiful and excellentlyfitted out it was entirely excellent and there was nothing wrong at all
situation was by far the best part. Room was very comfortable Breakfast was poor and a couple of staff members were not that efficient but others were very helpful.
The building is a very nicely renovated old building in a magnificent position: on the port with superb views of the sea and the cathedral, which is just opposite. The bathroom would need some improvements, despite being really nice desigend, including stone floor and mosaic walls, there is mold in the silicon around the bath tub and the system for letting the water being drained was not working properly (it was neceesary to remove it to let water flow down). The brekafast selection was limited, but of good quality.
We liked the friendliness of all the hotel staff. Nothing.
nice beach nothing
Obligatory club card that hasn't been mentioned (+6 euros per person). Even If I chose this hotel for the location-near the airport-combined with a good price there wasn't any transportation except the shuttle bus which has charged us 5 euros per person.
The location was ok, they obviously have beach facilities in the summer (which they charge extra for) but were not available in September when we were there. It looked lifeless and they could have included some activity. It is a large set up but limited facilities available. Internet did not work. Laundry service was very expensive. The staff were very ignorant and reallu avoided assisting us however we were persistent and still had to stand waiting at reception each time we had a question. Each staff member was trying to avoid serving non Italian speaking guests, it was very obvious. When in tourism a grasp of many launguages is necessary especiallyparticularly English as it is spoken in many countries.
Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing The awful menu (nothing to eat except seafood), poor accomodation (WC - old and bidet not working), bad location (far from city)
Accessibility to Bari Palese Airport - just a short 10-15 minute drive. The airport provided a transfer service for only 5 Euros each way. Hotel staff friendly, hotel clean and seemed very popular.
location, breakfast extra charge for using the hotel beach in the summer...6 euros per day...
Very pleasant staff. Small but friendly bar. Good breakfast. We were eaten alive round the pool so moved to the sea front where all the chairs had been removed (challenge of being at the end of the season) Found the evening set meal disappointing.
Very comfortable. Location good. Airport collection/delivery service very handy. Catering management by Basil Fawlty. Absolutely chaotic.
The hotel in genearal was acceptable. The cost of our evening meal, which had to be taken in the hotel as there are no places to eat locally at 21.30, was way too high. Two courses and no wine €56.00
difficult to find as we arrived at night and directions were useless
Rooms cleaned daily. Friendly Staff. Good Breakfast. Availibilty of courtsey bus. Out of the way location.
hotel is nice, good location from the airport too close to railway, and you can hear train passing.
Good breakfast. Beautifull view. The room was big and comfortable. In Puglia (the region where the hotel is) the people are nice and very helpfull, including the hotel's staff. There's nice sandy beach in Bari and rocky beach in Giovinazzo. Very good for businessmen, or for tourists with car. The pool is small, and it was out of order when we were there. There's no way to the beach from the hotel. You have to go through on a little hole on a wall, and then a dirty 'jungel'. The beach is very dirty, it's not for swimming, but the view is very nice from the hotel. Not good for tourists without car.
quite near airport nice pool looked better online Breakfast was really awful. A few crumbs if you were lucky. The hotel was expensive for a basic room over looking a railway line and a bit of dry bread for breakfast. This is Italy-should do wonderful ham, bread, cheeses, coffee!
Good value for money, very polite staff The hotel is located too close to the railway, which is annoing - you can't open the window, because the passing high speed trains wouldn't allow you to sleep.
Pool Rooms were really disgusting. carpeting was obviously stained from pet soils. the hotel is a non smoking hotel yet my first room assigned smelled like smoke. had to practically beg the front desk for a room change despite the fact that my son has a heart condition and couldn't be exposed to those conditions. the staff was totally unaccomodating and difficult to deal with. didn't like that I had to call the front desk to regulate room temperature which I didn't know until 3am my first night after being hot all night. the thermostat appeared to be working but the air never went on until the front desk allowed it.
Checked in at 6pm. Hotel is very bad at responding to emails so there was confusion about the free shuttle from airport. At 11:30pm, upon returning to our room, the foul odor coming from the room was unexplainable. The whole corner of that wing smelt bad. The reception seemed unfazed about it. Gave us another room but not similar to what we had so my two sons had to sleep in one room while my husband was in another and my daughter and I were in another. The front desk was very inexperienced, or just didn't care. The shower curtain in our room was dirty and smelt. Nothing was done about it. Housekeeping didn't leave us an extra roll of toilet paper and we had to call for it early in the morning and were asked to wait until 8am. And the train that runs by every 10min sounds like an earthquake!
Modern building, nice rooms with good air conditioning and balcony, has a good size car park and of course a swiming pool.Nice view of the sea from the breakfast room. staff very pleasent Hotel operates a schuttle bus to the airport and nearby towns. Do not stay in this Hotel unless you have a car, while the nearest village Giovinazzo is about 2.5 kilometres the road is busy and has no footpaths too dangerous to walk especially at night. If you arrive at the Hotel on a Sunday the restaurant is closed and a return taxi trip to Giovinazzo could cost 40 euro. Prices are very reasonable in Pughlia however taxis are the exception.
We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel President. The staff was very friendly and were ready to accommodate if at all possible. The staff provided myself with a map of restaurants in the area.
The S. Martin was recommended by a family member. The location of the hotel was key as we (my family from New York) was in Giovinazzo visiting family and we could walk to everything. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was very good as well and the staff very accommodating. I would recommend the hotel to travellers to Giovinazzo. Interesting property. As mentioned above, my opinion is that the front desk personnel could have been friendlier, more helpful, approachable (no smiles).
S Martin Hotel was stunning. The interior design has been done with much thought, empathy and class. The staff were so accommodating and really went out their way to make our stay very special. This is a fantastic hotel and one I would recommend to anyone. Bravo!!
We chose this hotel as it is close to the airport of Bari(about 15mins drive). The hotel was in the town of Giovinazzo which is very beautiful and hotel itself was really lovely with medieval atmosphere and great view of the sea. The staff was extremely kind and catered for all our needs. Breakfast was good and Greek/grill restaurant was also good. Really recommended. The hotel is located in the pedestrian area in the old town. It was difficult to find it and the parking space, but the staff helped us to get a free public parking space nearby which was really appreciated.
A truly charming hotel in a splendid ancient harbour. Confortable and quiet (no car allowed in the area). Helpful and nice people. Ask for a visit of the terrace of the 2nd floor : you have a 60 km coast view, from Bari to Trani. I would not recommend that place to travellers looking for standard international prestations.
Tasteful conversion. Lovely room and bathroom. Good situation in old quarter and close to harbour. The breakfast was poor and did not equate with the price or standard of the hotel.
We stayed here for 8 very enjoyable days in a junior suite with lovely views of the sea and over the rooftop gardens. The conversion from a monastery has been very well done and the surrounding narrow streets are fascinating. I understand that the hotel has had a change of management and as a result some of the older reviews are no longer valid, We were impressed with the way the hotel was run. All the receptionists were extremely efficient and friendly and knew enough English to be really helpful. The breakfast was excellent- very varied and with excellent, attentive and friendly service. The hotel was not easy to find but the management are currently working on this problem.
Staff, location, and overall condition of the hotel Didnt encounter any during stay
Beautiful place, great views -- would recommend highly A little difficult to find.
The lovely building and the atmosphere in the old town No curtains at the windows, so you can't open the shutters if you don't want to be seen from outside. No minibar, so if you're thirsty in the middle of the night you can just use the basin in the bathroom... The breakfast is very poor. On sunday, you'll be waken up at 7 a.m by the bells of the many churches nearby (they ring every 15 minuts until 9).
The calm, quiet, historical environment. Small town Due to small kids, large luggage was not East to get to the hotel
