10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a lovely location and is finished to a very high standard. Our room was decorated to a very high standard, the beds were very comfortable and there was lots of extra touches. Breakfast was outstanding, lots to choose from and all very high quality and I believe local ingredients. What makes this hotel so special are the owners. Louise and Richard went out of their way to make our stay was comfortable as possible. They were very friendly making us feel at home right away. We were staying there as we were attending a wedding, Louise kindly ensured our room was ready several hours early for us so we could check in and make it in time for the wedding. Louise also called ahead of our stay to see if she could arrange taxis for us. This is by far the best service I’ve had in a long time. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is after a premium experience for very reasonable rates.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like about this property!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best breakfast, most friendly staff/owners, nice surroundings, great room. One of our best stays ever. Hope we can be back soon!

Pros: Lovely house, excellent breakfast, very nice hosts! Vest b&b we had in Scotland !
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was delightful and it was a lovely home and personal service. Great linens, toiletries, bathroom. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: At breakfast, Richard said that he could lock up the cockerel so that it wouldn’t crow from the early hours. Unless you particularly like that sound or you have good ear plugs - make sure you check that the cockerel has been put to bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic first night in Scotland. The place is crystal clean, the atmosphere cosy and warm and Richard made us feel at home from the first handshake. We agreed to a late check in and they offered us a table in the dining room for our take away dinner. Breakfast was delicious, even the simplest thing tasted fresh and rich. We were too tired to try the “honesty bar” but we found the idea very interesting! Thanks to Richard and Louise for having us! Highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely lovely stay, very nice hosts, their attention to details - which is also visible in the entire house - is quite remarkable. Excellent breakfast, cooked with local products. The location is excellent for exploring the areas around - we wish we could have stayed more.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The attention to detail with this small hotel leaves nothing to chance....it has been beautifully decorated with great taste and the lengths gone to by this couple ensure that visitors will have a relaxing and very comfortable time....all the little extras such as slippers st the door and the honesty bar make you feel so much at home from the moment you step through the door.....the owners Louse and Richard are the loveliest of people and make sure that everything is if the highest standard that you could ask for.....special mention to the breakfast.....we have stayed in much larger hotels and have NOT had the high standard of breakfast that this boutique hotel offers.....superb !!.....sits in its own large grounds and has seating outside for you to relax and take in the countryside.....stay here....you will not be disappointed. X
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Taking off your shoes at the front door may put some people off but as we do this at home we found it okay. As for the breakfast, you did get a good selection and the fruit etc was delicious as my husband enjoys his porridge as part of his breakfast he was not to impressed by there interpretation of porridge.
Cons: The porridge was far to sweat and as my husband is a bit of a traditionalist he prefers it made in the traditional way, make porridge as requested by the guests, everyone is different so if you take the money then try to accommodate the guests as best possible. My husband did mention this on the first day and did ask for his porridge to be made in the normal fashion but on the second day it was far to sweat again. The notice on the single bed in the deluxe family room stating that unless you had paid for this bed then you could not sit on it, put a case or whatever on it was a bit off. As no mention of this was made when the two rooms were booked and payment was the same for the deluxe King size bed room and the Deluxe family room then why the notice?

Pros: Public areas beautifully decorated. Staff friendly and helpful. Elevated location of property peaceful with beautiful views across the strath.
Cons: First room offered gloomy in the extreme, airless in the hot weather, and bed cripplingly hard. Happily we were moved to another, more airy, but bed only marginally better tho roomy. Use of low voltage lighting made reading in bedroom almost impossible... several lights but all impossibly dim.

Cons: N/A
9.0 Excellent
Pros: it was a lovely period hotel set a bit further away from the small town. It was very quiet and peaceful. The staff was very eager to help you.
Cons: Two things #1. my party had two rooms and I noticed a difference in the quality - small differences but differences still #2 I was there during the "heatwave" and so it was hot. My room luckily had fan, but you couldn't open up the window more than 4 inches (and only one of them would open). So the fan couldn't do much with the super hot air. With the rise in temperatures - they need to work out better solutions for cooling down the inside (so outside was a lovely temperature at night, but inside was super hot and stuffy). ...I'm not saying A/C - but allow all windows to be open, air out the inside with cross breezes, etc. Don't just keep the place all closed up like it is winter.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very engaging and cheerful. We felt as if we were guest in their home. The room I was spacious and comfortable with a lovely decor.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: If you are tired of soulless corporate hotels and you are tired of small guest houses that have swamped with extras that have destroyed the atmosphere then Park House is for you. This is a Guest House in the true meaning of the phrase. You are a guest in Madeline’s house. The house is at the top of a 200 yard rising farm track which is easily negotiated. As a result of the climb, the house has magnificent views over the hills for several miles. The parking is a little random but just dump it anywhere. When you enter the house it is clear that this is their family home. I would guess that some children have left home and the couple decided to make a little money by letting the rooms. There are personal items – especially pictures – and ornaments everywhere. The double room was double aspect and was very large. The view was superb. None of the furniture matched but there was plenty of it. The bed was dressed to the hilt. And Madeline likes flowers so everything is very floral. The shower room unusually had carpet rather than tiles but it was dominated (and I mean dominated) by a fishing theme – the families main pursuit. Everything that you expect was there- tea/coffee, water, etc. And do read the compulsory fire notice which basically says we are not going to have a fire but in the unlikely event that we do then... Madeline and Martin were very friendly and want you to feel like friends (who just happen to be paying). Cooked breakfast was fine. Indeed Madeline’s own son was having the same when we went in the kitchen to say goodbye. The track to the house could be tricky to spot but Madeline sends detailed and accurate instructions which you should read and follow. The green B&B sign is not so small that you miss it so keep a good look out. If this sounds like your cup of tea (and Madeline will provide one) then go for it.

Pros: The beds were so comfy, and there were little extra touches, like toffees on the towels, and toiletries in the bathroom. We would thoroughly recommend the Scottish breakfast, it was amazing. Would highly recommend staying here, the staff are really lovely also.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Warm clean and comfortable.
Cons: No dislikes
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location, very nice and friendly hosts.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The host was very pleasant
Cons: The cost of £80 per night for a room without breakfast was for me expensive as an example for £75 I could have stayed in the town in a hotel with a pool and a cooked breakfast. The bed slats were broken and kept falling out and also a few pieces of solid wood had been put in place of slats, I have a very bad back so it was very uncomfortable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I was lucky to book a room last minute at a great price. Annabelle the owner was one of the loveliest people I’ve ever met. Absolutely superb customer service. The room was big, very clean & comfortable. There was a lovely tea selection as well and complementary chocolate & fudge left on the top of towels on the bed. It felt like heaven to be able to spend the night there instead of camping on the site of the event I was attending.
Cons: The bathroom didn’t have a radiator in it, I had to leave the door open to warm it up and after shower had to keep it open to air, making the room a little bit damp, but it was a very minor issue. Also, the hot water was not on in the night, my other half returned from his 34 mile Cateran Yomp walk at 1:30 in the night and by then the hot water was not coming through, he had to shower with cold water. I’ve had a really lovely hot shower early that evening, it was a bit disappointing for him showering with cold water. Other than that, outstanding place.

6.8 Good
Pros: The atmosphere in the castle hotel is really great! Old furniture, very good bar and the location is great. But it needs to be renovated. We heave been here for the third time. Years ago it was much better. The staff is is very frendly but a little chaotic.
Cons: Carpet in the toilets
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of this hotel was excellent as was its food. The bed/breakfast/dinner deal that they offer was good value for money and definitely made the visit worthwhile. There was a charming bar in the hotel which was well stocked with lots of whiskies and gins to sample. The staff were incredibly helpful.
Cons: We were disappointed to be moved out of the room that we had booked - a four poster. Although the move was technically an upgrade, we were effectively moved to a larger room with less character, not what we were looking for given that we were just a couple and only staying for one night. I'd imagine that if you book direct with the hotel rather than through booking.com this change would not happen without consultation. There ended up being problems with the cleanliness of that room (an error which was ultimately resolved very well by the hotel), but which meant we moved again. Although the room that we were moved to was cleaned to the hotel's standards it definitely could have been better: there was a layer of dust on the sideboard where the drinks were located, slight dirt in the bath, the sheets weren't tucked in properly and some dead moths/flies were dotted around the windows and on the floors. I probably noticed this more because of the mix-up with the other room and some leeway does need to be given given the age and location of the hotel, but I do think that there is room for improvement on the cleanliness front. Overall though, these issues didn't detract too much from our stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very nice and just what I would have expected. Very nice The Bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in The location was tranquil
Cons: My room was over the area where staff had their breaks and with the window open the cigarette smoke came in to the room
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the location... highly recommend
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast good and a good variety offered - host was very helpful and afforded early entry into room - equally as pleasant in the morning - if you want to get away this is the place - nearest towns of note are Pitlochry and Braemar 10+ miles
Cons: The pictures of the hotel is taken from a long way off and on first seeing them can be a little misleading - the hotel is a little tired in places, the shower in our particular room lacked any real pressure -
5.0 Okay
Pros: Poor. Needs updated. Very shabby, windows in room were disgusting - never been cleaned
Cons: Shabby appearance inside and unclean
9.5 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, very clean, lovely quiet location and nice breakfast
4.5 Okay
Pros: The food was fairly good and the hotel is in a good location.
Cons: This was Fawlty Towers on steroids. Everything felt limited, as if 'you are only allowed 1 egg' or 'there is no hot chocolate available in your room - even if you did have some the previous night'. Foreigners came in asking for coffee at breakfast time (not residents) but were refused - and the place wasn't even busy, so what a missed opportunity to both make money and have satisfied customers! The answer to most questions started with a 'No'. Lack of training and negative attitudes were the norm with the staff. There was no willingness or competence apparent. Neither the waiter nor the barmaid knew how to open a bottle of wine, even when I tried to point out how to! Our bed was broken and there was no-one in charge to complain to, so a refund wasn't on offer either. It was embarrassing to see other customers receiving such poor service too. What a wasted opportunity that place is. The owners should be forced to hand it over to somebody competent, who gives a hoot.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location is nice and peaceful with lovely scenery. This is more of a stop-off place in my opinion. The food was a bit overpriced for the quality and I think they would benefit from simplifying their menu and not trying to be something it isn't. The staff were very friendly, the waiter was slightly over attentive and could do with a bit more knowledge on the drinks they have available but the whole it was a nice stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fine. Location was great.
Cons: Car park is opposite. Difficult road to cross.

Pros: Old building and rooms big.
Cons: Car park to small
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good. Car park was fine and handy. Good reception on TV.
Cons: Bed was not comfortable. Bathroom could be doing with updating. The lack of a lift was a big drawback for older people like my wife and I.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Generally speaking for 4 golfers the Hotel served us well for what we required ie a comfy bed to sleep in and good wholesome food.Given we played our golf in two of the hottest days of the summer a fan in the bedroom would have helped cool the room but as a rule how often would you need a fan in midsummer Scotland so that comment is academic
Cons: See above.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great,, anything you wanted.. And great choices..
4.5 Okay
Pros: average breakfast. Difficult to find in the one way system
Cons: No dinner on Sundays. No soap in the shower
4.5 Okay
Pros: Breakfast terrible. Location excellant
Cons: Room was dire toilet terrible on arrival was handed key no offer of help with cases. The room was on second floor thirty stairs up. These two floors of rooms numbers 60 to 78 are kept for Asian people travelling with omega travel. They even forgot we were up there and switched hot water off as no overnight guests coming in that night.w
6.8 Good
Pros: Arrived after midnight, and was able to access room, night porter very helpful. Apparently breakfast is very good, but lunch I had (for 6 people), was quite poor. Room was large, high ceilings, but very basic, a bit old and tired. But a nice location in centre of town, easy free parking etc.
Cons: Lunch was poor, rooms need refreshing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect right next to all shops and bars, never had breakfast got up too late, superior room was not exactly superior just a standard room.
Cons: Did not want to call anyone to get in after 11pm as they lock the door so made sure we were back before that.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing!!!!
Cons: Room was not up to our standards. Asked for double bed? I was promised a room first floor. Got offered when we arrived 2nd floor? Refused it. Then got offered the Rosemount one!! Looking out to a roof top ! Told the guy we were not happy. He told us we can go to another hotel called the Angus! Told us his name was Robbie?
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, central location Loved the cooked breakfast, great wifi
Cons: Even though we did not get blocked in The parking area was very small
