could have done with a little more atmosphere in bar and restaurant for a Sunday night. Also 4 question questionnaire is actually about 20 !
Comfortable room, good breakfast, staff very good, central situation in town, didn't use spa etc. No real bad points.
Leisure facilities The Restaurant staff did not get dinner order right... food wasn't that great for the set dinner menu. However, the breakfast was excellent
we were impressed with the friendly & willing service afforded by the staff .the hotel is very comfortable & central for walking about the village. not a thing
the friendliness of staff. breakfast was served swiftly although there were several groups at the same time. non-smoking rooms
The room was very comfortable, had everything you would need for your stay, breakfast was very good, piping hot, service a bit slow but very nice staff. Hotel situated right in centre of the town, great location. Good value for money these days.
The hotel was in good location the staff were extremely friendly Bar shut a bit early Couldnt get a soft drink when we came in after 12 maybe a couple of vending machines would do the trick
The weather and surrounding area, the evening meal was very good. There was a disco on the Saturday evening, directly underneath our room, which should not have been situated where rooms can distinctly hear every word of the music. This should have been held in the ballroom, as did the boxing the previous night, which we did not hear any noise whatsoever, pity the disco wasn't in there also. This soured our stay somewhat.
breakfast - cooked to order not a buffet style like most hotels the customer service i recieved at the front desk the lady was not very welcoming and put my partner and i off recommending to our friends we stay in blairgowrie 3 times a year for long weekends, however, the service from other staff was excellent and this was the decider that we would stay again next time we visit.
The warm welcome given and the extremely helpful manner throughout our stay, being very informative of the area, with very homely accomodation.
The staff were very kind and helpful about my coeliac, My husband found the bed too small.
Good location with off street free parking. Nice room with excellent en suite facilities. Owners welcoming and helpful. Room did get a little chilly but the weather was unseasonably cold.
The bed was fantastic.
conversations with hosts. helpfulness. some of company found bed and pillows hard.
Breakfast was wonderful, the parking very ample and FREE! They were very accommodating and would certainly go back! Nothing!
We liked the on suite facilities a large bathroom.Staff were friendly. Furniture was old rather than antique.T V did not work .
Very comfortable, good food, punctual, and helpful staff
The breakfasts were excellent
good breakfast, room was very comfortable with good bathroom facilities
attentive staff and management. the impressive hall
Loved the fact that the decor was kept very much in the style of the period of the house. Lounge, fireplace and stairs are wonderful. Even though the furniture did fit the period it was a bit large for the room we had - not much space between bed and armoir and secretaire, but the bed was supremely comfortable.
Warm welcome at reception. Great relaxed atmosphere in hotel itself. Lovely well appointed room. Nothing like the luxury of acomfortable four poster bed to rest one's weary head. Food was imaginative well cooked and presented. Staff were attentive, efficient and very helpful.(Particularly the young lady who was doing service at breakfast. Please pass on our compliments to her) The weather... but there is nothing you could do about that !!!!
The luxurious grand hall was beautiful. The setting was very relaxing. The quality of food was not equal to the surroundings.
As a member of my family lives in town, we often go for a drink in the Lands of L when i'm there. I love it in the winter with the grand fireplace, sofas and relaxed atmosphere. Nothing to do with the hotel, but the local authorities could do to re-tarmac the road before the entrance to the driveway.
The hotel was like staying in some ones country mansion as a guest of the family no
Felt as if staying at a wealthy friend's home, loved the architecture and decor Hard to find
We as a small party thought all the staff were excellent
Large rooms & ensuites
The hotel was very comfortable and the staff were very welcoming and prepared to assist in whatever way they could without being intrusive. Food and service in the dining excellant none
The staff were very friendly, and gave information about local entertainment and activities
Helpfull & pleasant staff, nice rooms, good food
The only thing good about the Royal Hotel was the breskfast. Access to the bedrooms was cold, dull and dreary. Difficult to find staff if you required them.
The proximity to the building where we attended a meeting; the nearness of the shops; the quality of the meals. We enjoyed our stay.
The food was very good. When we arrived the room was cold and smelt damp, although the staff did provide us with an extra heater which made things much better.
speedy check in and out cold in bedroom
Hotel decor poor and carpets very dirty dull and dreary overall
area the hotel was. did not like the hotel attitude.
The hotel was very centrally located and the staff and owner were extremely friendly. I had read that they had renovations done but, I think the annexe part of the building does need a face lift and the rooms could be better furnished. I cannot fault the hotel staff who were so helpful and could not do enough for you. I would stay there again but, next time I would go for the superior rooms. The heating was not very good and the room we stayed in was worked off the building gas central heating system, which was not on very often, all other rooms had adjustable heating system. I found the room extremely cold and it was at the top of the building. During this time the weather was extremely windy, and raining (this is in Scotland) The room furniture is out dated and could do with modernising, it all looks very tired and you cannot see any sign of rennovation work unless this was carried out to the main building. The bathrooms are very basic and old fashioned no waste bins in there and an old net curtain round the sink to hide the pipes!!
Food was fantastic. No
It is quiet, peaceful, cosy and the surroundings are beautiful, in other words, a wee gem. sky TV would have been a bonus as the weather was awful
Beautiful location. Returned here after a beautiful stay a year ago, but disappointed. It didn't seem quite as well kept. Central heating wasn't working. Breakfast was average compared to great last time. Room was noisy as there was a party on in the dining room underneath all night.
The food, selection of beers, warm welcome and location.
excellent food in a relaxedenvironment
This was my second visit.Strathardle is a very comfortable, clean, well appointed small hotel.Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The food is excellent, and the choice wide. Can readily recommend it.
Friendly , relaxed place with good food - very enjoyable
The dinner we had was the best meal we had in Scotland.
The friendliness of the staff / owners and the excellent food. It was in no way pretentious and offered delightful surroundings and home comforts.
Visit the Highland Games Parking limited during peak season
Thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the bar in the evening. Dinner and breakfast were also enjoyable and relaxed.
Restaurant and food excellent. Dinner menu choice, presentation and service of very high standard.
Dinner to a very high standard. a good Breakfast. Room and beds comfortable. Staff worked very hard to keep guests happy. Bathroom door that would not close. (Hotel informed). It looked as though hotel was in middle of upgrading (needed). Room was above public bar which was noisy.
Friendly, helpful staff. Good food. Nice location. Room was just right. No bad points.
Very nice staff.Friendly atmosphere. Noisy Friday night. Our room was just above the pup.Smoke came into our room.
the staff were pleasant and helpfull, the room was clean and tidy excellent meals and a good breakfast
Hotel in a nice picturesque location very quiet town with nothing to do at nights which didn't bother us. It was clean and food very good had an evening meal which was excellent and breakfast worth getting up for. The bathroom could have been cleaner but was ok basic but all you need. The bed wasn't very comfortable we rolled into the middle of bed therefore a new mattress would be a good buy. We were above the bar but at 11pm all was quiet.
Welcomed with a cup of tea when the room was not ready. Lack of view from room.
The food was excellent and beds very comfortable; however, the room was very small (ok for one night), there was no telephone in room to contact staff re. how to turn on t.v. and shower. Also, one towel/person was a little skimpy-- and bathroom floor was dirty.Would recommend this hotel, but with improvements noted. See above.
Hotel was clean and comfortable, well positioned in a small villageand staff were courteous cooked breakfast was poor and room was small
Hotel was comfortable, service was good and food was excellent.
Friendly cosy bar Nice dining room Good breakfast A bit cold with heating going off early and not coming on till late making bed in particular rather cold.
The decor of the room Room was cold; shower had no pressure; wi-fi did not work as advertised; staff were not entirely helpful
Setting of hotel was very nice No hot water and room was cold due to heating on for short periods
The food was excellent with a great breakfast and the room was very comfortable for the price we paid The hotel was very quiet with no atmosphere and the hoteliers could have been more welcoming.
Excellent food. Fabulous log fire. Very comfortable bed.
Peace and quiet and excellent food
we liked the friendly atmosphere, great staff.big open fires n the tranquility of where the glenisla hotel was.perfect.
excellent dinner and comfortable large bed breakfast was awful (think the bacon had been cooked the week before) and we were disappointed it wasn't a Scottish breakfast (no square sausage or potato scone). The heating in our room didn't work and the shower was an exerpience to say the least. No shower curtain and the only hook for it was at the same height as the taps. Nightmare.
Quality of food was good No
