The location near the station was very convenient, and we found the hotel to be very smart and convenient for local trips. N/A
Location, just steps away from the main train station and the shopping area. the pillows were not so comfortable.
The hotel was next to the train station which made it very easy for us to transport our luggage. We took the Glacier Express this day, and the next day were on our way to Innsbruck and Salzburg. Great location.
Very pleased with the room. The entrance is very two star. The reception area is also mean for 4*. The room kettle should be fitted with a Swiss plug. (Reception immediately provided an adapter but that's not the best solution). Could the road maintenance people outside the cafe next door be told to provide a temporary walkway. Dragging cases over builder's rubble is not the right image for your new 4* guests.
Close to train station. Delightful breakfast. Very clean. Modern bathroom appliances With great shower. Modern interior design. Switzerland can be pricey
We only stayed one night but were very happy with our room, which was smart and comfortable, and with the location, near the railway station and near the town centre. Breakfast was good Nothing!
The hotel is an easy walk from the train station, yet is not impacted by noise from the station. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was very comfortable.
We loved the hotel. It is first class. It is a great place in Chur.
Convenient location. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff No. Everything was fine
Although I only stayed the one night, the hotel was a perfect location near the station and centre of town.
Good Service and value of money
The hotel was central in the town of Chur
It is located in a quiet and aesthetic part of the old town. The carpeting is ugly and so is the smell of smoke in the bar, which permeates the entire hotel entrance. You don't get a very positive first impression to what is otherwise a wonderful hotel.
The breakfast was very good. As soon as something ran out it was replenished. We are not used to smoking being allowed in hotels in Australia. Even although there was none at all in the rooms, one did have to walk through the foyer which was very smoky. We are very surprised by the number of people that smoke. Just amazing. Australia is very much advanced allowing no smoking in restaurants pubs workplaces etc
Nice room, great breakfast, nice bar, friendly staff
We were given one of the "new rooms", which turned out to be a lounge and separate bedroom. The lounge area had a bed-settee and a small kitchen area (although we only made use of the fridge). The hotel is situated in a very good position in the Old Town, but is only a short walk for the New Town and Railway station and other transport facilities.
location, staff, breakfastroom tv is really very small and too high up
Quiet location in old town. Stayed in spacious new room with wonderful walk-in shower!
Hotel is charming, clean, quiet, and easy 5 minute walk up from train station. Surrounding old town district offered nice shops and excellent restaurants.Staff friendly and helpful to english speaking guest. Great find for a quick trip.
position in old town- views room was very small not much room fro 2 to move about
Easy walking distance from the train station and a delicious breakfast.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, smooth check-in/check-out Parking is a bit difficult (not enough parking spots)
breadfast is good
The pyrimid structure was unique. The hotel was clean the staff was wonderful.... the decor in the hotel rooms seemed a little outdated but again it was super clean and organized.
Hotel does not let customers choose the currency for the payment. They convert CHF to foreigner's currency plus the exchange rate 3%, and force you to sign. After you get the receipt, it has a statement: I accept the total amount above and have given choices of currencies for the payment.
The room had a balcony which was nice. There are no facilities that are avaialble in other ibis hotels like iron, etc. The bed and the pillows were very uncomfortable. The staff were uncooperative when asked for any help. The balcony was not clean at all. Overall the experience was worst among all the hotels in switzerland.
helpfull people at breakfast Floors dirty, no vacuum cleaning. No fridge or safe in room. We were asked to pay for all stay at check-in.
Fairly good value. Not a bad location being about 20 minutes walk from town. Good, safe parking underground. Very basic with no air conditioning. The latter is very important as I would recommend not staying during a hot weather spell. There is no way to cool the room without opening the window at which point it's too noisy.
Close to McDonalds. Clean, nice, comfortable bed. Stored our lactose free milk in a refrigerator. No wash clothes wee provided.
Close to the Town A bit noisy because of the trafic, and missing a fan in the room
Excellent breakfast, good location.
The staff were very friendly and attentive and the restaurant was excellent. Location was beautiful with plenty of walking and climbing close to the hotel.
An atmospheric excellent hotel. Staff could not have been more helpful. Wonderful atmosphere and surroundings. Excellent food and facilities
What a charming place! Could not possibly compliment the staff enough. They were so kind, professional, helpful.
the hotel has old world charm. we loved the apres ski and the convenience of the shuttle to the lifts and a restaurant. the staff was very helpful. very nice breakfast. we actually extended and stayed 2 nights. it was perfect. wish the pool was heated! or that there was a jacuzzi which would be great after skiing.
Beautiful view! 3 mins to the center by foot, yet very silent area. Parking is free, but Hotel has only limited spaces.
Very enjoyable stay, excellent quality of service, wonderfull food, good swimming pool, would like to go there again.
The entire stay was fantastic. Especially, the hotel staff are extremely helpful, and the hotel location is excellent.
The hotel was ideal. Delivery/Collection service to the ski lifts was a great advantage. Pool was lovely as were the other Spa facilities. Breakfast was great - I would say that the hotel's evening menu was slightly over priced for the quality of food I'm used to in London, but there are plenty of places to eat around the hotel, so don't let that put you off.
Everything. Food was excellent, view gorgeous. It was very quiet, but not boring. And the service was top-notch. We booked the hotel because of the "swiss historic hotels"-label and weren't not disapppointed, We'll certainly return!
The reception staff & restaurants were all excellent It did not seem to have the standards of service and rooms associated with a 5* hotel - np hairdryer, small bathrooms, some rooms with showers only, breakfast removed while people still eating!
All the best. Nothing.
The spaciousness and comfort of rooms. The closeness to Chaumasee.
Staff were helpful Room decor a bit dated. No bath in my room - which is annoying for a ski resort hotel.
The Sunstar Hotel is in a great position and all employees have been very kind with us In my opinion a wireless connection to the WWW should be available in a four star hotel
the hotel is in a quiet area, in the middle of the park
Excellent attention to detailn from the staff. The rooms had a kitchenette which was a bonus. minor road noise, pillows on the thin side.
Staff was very friendly and helpful
good location. good to have a small kitchen. swimming pool too small. and kids play catchball in it.
good pool, sauna, restaurant, friendly efficient staff
Very little. Hugely overpriced for a tired hotel, which is in need of total renovation. We booked a superior double room. If this was superior, I hate to think what a standard room is like. For the same price we stayed in a 4* hotel in central Rome with luxury marble bathroom. We were extremely disappointed with this hotel.
Attractive looking hotel Small room size. It would have been helpful if the menues were also in English.
Warm welcome and helpful staff. Restaurant is charming but none of the three dishes that we ordered corresponded to the menu description. The service was good but the kitchen appeared to be overwhelmed.
Location in old part of town-parking available-helpful staff- nice to have a radio Lighting in bedroom-too dim to read-also surprised that not energy saving
Well located in the old town of Chur. Our room was in an adjacent building, fourth floor, charming and spacious, open to roof timbers.
Privately owned,a mix of older & younger staff all trying to please. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Quite well situated for the old & new town.
As I pointed out to the receptionist, The Stern is not worth 3 stars - it should have 4! We have stayed in many 4-star hotels that were not nearly so charming and pleasant as the Romantik Hotel Stern. The waitresses were very friendly - a little too much so. It was overbearing but they meant no ill.
big bath tub. location. way over priced! the bed looked like bunk beds put side by side. the TV was the size of a postage stamp. the furnishings remindered me of my hunting cabin. very small room, did I mention it is way over priced!
Nice furniture in room, great breakfast, helpful staff no lift for the rooms in the building across the street. We knew this in advance and we only had to bring up the suitcases one flight but it was the only negative.
The room was very pleasant. It was very clean and the hotel is well looked after. It has a nice quiet position with car park. I think that for a four star hotel the room could be provided with a mini bar. the breakfast was v disappointing - no bread!!!!
close to rail station
1 Persons room is small, dark and very hot, brown furniture reminds of times long gone.
The reservation desk assigned us a room overlooking a mountain brook whose rushing water provided a lovely sleep instilling sound to our partially openned window. They were exceptionally helpful with a load of laundry and retaining our automobile during a two day train trip on the Glacier Express. Naturally, we stayed an additional night after returning from that train trip.
Optimal location, prima parking facilities.
the registration staff was exceptionally informed, helpful and reassuring. they arranged for our auto to be retained for two days while we took a two day train trip. We , of course, stayed at Hotel Chur upon our return. They fascilitated laundry like no other hotel had done. The room was superior overlooking a mountain stream with the rushing water sound very condusive to sleep.k
Location, Parking, WiFi Nothing really
Free wireless LAN poor wireless LAN; No hot water
My first expression when I checked in was a little negative. The hotel receptionist wasn't very welcoming. After I checked into my room, there were a bunch of teenagers who were making a lot of noise right outside. That continued for about an hour. Also, the morning I was checking out, the power went out in my room. I put on my makeup up by window light. Also, the room was musky-smelling and overall not a very good experience. I liked the fact that this hotel was only 8-10 minutes from the train station. I wouldn't stay here again.
Great view from our attic room (we were upgraded). Big bathroom, Huge vaulted ceiling room with great lighting and with kitchenette. Beds were comfortable enough. Restaurant items were just below average quality at best.
clean room is very small, bed quality is not good. breakfast choices are limited. it's not a 3-star, probaby 2.5 star
The hotel is close to all amenities and the restaurant is good The hotel seems a little run-down, although it seems that there are some improvements happenong
Friendly staff, OK breakfast, best rate in the area that I could find. No
The hotel is at the center of the old town in a very nice spot. View from the room was nice also. Internet access for free!!!. The staff were nice. Parking was not a problem since they have parking places 3 minutes away. The price was very good for 3 persons in a room. Breakfast service was a bit slow.
The Breakfast should started at 7am and but the food was not prepared until we left, that was about 7:30am.
Yes. The cheese knife was broken and I cut my self on that knife during breakfast. I said that the knife was broken to the employer and would be better to substitute for other one before other people get hurt. On the next day, during breakfast, the same knife was in the cheese table again but with tape. I think that this is not professional.Yes. Great location near the old city and it close proximity to the railroad station. Everything that interested us was close by. The street noise.
The hotel is in a very good location, nice old building, The breakfast is very good, Free Internet good wifi
Our second stay. Very helpful staff and excellent position. The place dates from the 1700's so its character compensates for lack of modern conveniences. A word of caution only: This hotel is housed in an ancient (1700s) building so don't expect modern conveniences. The tiny lift is retrofitted and there an unavoidable flight of stairs between the street level and reception.
The hotel rooms were nice, large, but old. It is in a great location and the breakfast was great. There is a lift available from the 1st floor, and the accompanying restaurant had a great meal. The common areas were old and weren't in the best state. A little work would make this hotel a really nice gem.
Excellent location. Right near old town, shops and restaurants.
Great location Delicious breakfast Comfortable beds and rooms Helpful staff Extremely attentive to my gluten free needs Being an old building, you hear when other guests are moving around in hallways/ upstairs
Hotel was across from the bus stop to the chairlift, but was only a 10 minute walk as well. The hotel had 2 nice restaurants. We had a junoir suite for 2 and it was very nice. We did not know there was a parking lot across from the hotel. We parked in the back where our car got stuck in the poorly plowed lot. However, the staff sent someone to help push us out. If you do not have traction, just park in the front lot.
Staff Hospitality, second to none. Our booking got lost somehow, and they agreed to check us into a nearby hotel, covering the extra costs. No worries for us, from what I could see the hotel was extremely nice, but all I really got to experience were the staff, and I tell ya no complaints there ;D
Extremely convenient for the Flims ski lifts. The overpowering smell of cheese from the Fondue Stube. If our room hadn't been at the other end of the hotel, we could not have stayed there.
The hotel staff provided a very warm welcome. All rooms were already prepared in the morning, so that we could leave some luggage there before going on our planned hike. Excellent value for money. Very recommended.
Friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast, good facilities, ten minutes walk from the lifts (without skis), ski bus stops just across the road.
Very good breakfast. The hotel is right next to a shuttle stop which makes it convenient to go to the different villages in the area.
Great staff, beautiful view, excellent breakfast, nice sauna facility. Due to fondue restaurant off of the lobby, the hotel often smelled of burning cheese.
Smell of cheese fondue + noise from road traffic
The location in relation to public transport made it very easy to reach the bergbahn. The sauna's are an excellent way to relax after a long day boarding.
