The view from the balcony is fantastic especially at sunset some of the should be available recreational facilities are either closed or not functioning properly during the period. rooms are too small. TV screen is a 14 inch and is very uncomfortable to watch. Towels are not approriately sized.no beach towels are available. room cleaning is not available. Access to the hotel is very difficult( narrow roads). It is too dangerous to walk to any of the nearby towns due to the lack of walking trails which compels you to use the car and face the associated severe parking shoratages in all those towns.
The view. The lack of promised internet access, heat only available during certain hours, no hand soap supplied, un comfortable sofa.
The location and views are great. The property is old and in no way 4 star unless you are using a 10 star system!
Stunning views and relaxed atmosphere within a short drive to the Levanto train station (Cinque Terre). Villas show their age but who cares in such a beautiful location. We (2 couples) booked for 2 nights but stayed for 3 and would have liked to stay longer.
Gorgeous view of the mediterrian. Staff was very responsive when we had a problem with the hot water and all was fixed.
calm, very good view and refreshing air insufficient equipment and old furniture.
The view of the water was fabulous. The accomodations were very good and the resort ammenities were good too. The distance to the nearest town was 20 min. by foot over a rough trail. The lack of public transportation (bus or train) made us rely upon taxis and La Francesca staff to get to/from town.
perfect location, great nature
The village is situated on the coast, in a real pine forest. The sea view is breathtaking. Excellent food & wine at the restaurant. The village is 4 km far from Levanto on the up&down coast road-you can't walk on it. There's no bus, you have to take a taxi that costs 20 euro, to get to the train station. The sanitary's were from the '70, not suitable for a 4star residence.
The property is pretty and close to the sea. The price was ok compared to other hotels in the Cinque Terre. The staff at the office were not pleasant at all! (contrary to our other experiences in Italy). They did not have ANY information about the weather, or boat/ferry services in/around the Cinque Terre!
The rooms were big There was a lot I did not like: The way to approach is a dirt road of a few kilometers, quiet dangerous, specially at night. Nobody answered at reception, when we called to get directions on how to arrive. The rooms were freezing when we arrived. We stayed two nights. In the middle of the first night I woke up freezing. Apparantly they switched off the heating. I was upset in the morning and they promised it will be OK. When we got back on the second day in the afternoon the rooms were freezing again. Its not a 1star hotel, its a 3 star hotel and we paid for 2 rooms 220Euro per night. Not recommended at all.
Friendly staff, nice view, ok breakfast, nice surroundings Very rough road to the hotel, I almost destroyed the car
Nice setting with grass and olive tree around hotel, clean rooms, chilfriendly pool, good kitchen. The access road to the hotell is extremely bad! 2K gravel road where you almost need a 4wd to get up! The distance to Levanto is to long, with the bad road the hotell is vetter fort lokal walks than excursions to the Cinque Terre! In our room only twoout of four beds had bedlamps, when asked they could not organize anything temporary-so reading in bed was not possible!
Very enjoyable 3 days spent in the region. Hotel was a little difficult to find even using GPS which was not quite accurate. However vista and views worth the effort. Breakfasts well catered for including gluten and dairy food intolerances. Best in this regard in the entire trip. Friendly front office staff. Walk to train downhill easy but return after full day a little tiring. Did not get chance tobtry out "emotional showers" in spa complex.
We initially booked for two nights and enjoyed it so much we stayed for five. The room and bathroom were boht large and well appointed with a large balcony that looked over the town. Levanto is the next stop from Cinque Terre with all the train connections etc. and the hotel is a 10 min walk from the train station. Our GPS got completely confused trying to find the hotel once we got to Levanto, but a quick phone call and the hotel staff gave us easy directions. The GPS was trying to use roads that are walking tracks - something up with the maps, even putting in the longitude and lattitude did not help.
Actually I only can complimet this hotel,-personally to me, everything was perfect from the minute when i was taken and driven to hotel..Wonderful enviroment, relaxing atmosphere, briliant and helpful staff, luxorious dinners at reastaurant and richness of breakfest. I simply had the best possible time during my short vacation!
This was a little gem and the star of our month in Italy. We stayed in many hotels but this was the best and superb value for money. Big clean rooms most with balconies, small walk to train station so easy to do Cinque Terre, parking, wifi and pool with awesome "emotional shower" and sauna etc. Great after a long walk. Bfast was also superb - didn't want to leave! Only warning is that if you want to walk from Levanto to hotel you have to go up a few steps as up a little, but normally you are there for the walks and views anyway!
Great service and best cost / benefit.
Incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. We were blown away by how they bent over backwards to accommodate us, especially with the shuttle rides. Good alternative to staying in cinque terre...just a 6 minute train ride to Monterossa.
The breakfasts were fantastic Everything was great don't change anything loved the wiFi free
the location was very central to city centre and train station The room was very small and no storage facility in the bathroom ie: shelving for toilet bags etc.
The breakfast was delicious and had good variety, particularly including fresh fruit, eggs and good coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms did not have any electrical sockets, which made it difficult to charge mobile phones, cameras etc. Secondly, the insulation is not particularly good so we had a lot of noise late at night due from the streets and nearby elevator.
Excellent staff, service and meals Nothing
Privacy Very small (I'm talking about my shoulders touching the sides of the shower at all times no matter what direction I turned kind of small). Though it was a cheaper hotel for the area, it was simply too small to use well. Mainly just the bathroom though... The bedroom was small, but workable.
Great Location, Great staff who were very helpful. Breakfast was wonderful. The location is great for a visit to the Cinque Terre however the city of Levanto is nice as well to visit. Room was nice and had a privat balcony. I would definately stay here again.
Hotel staff and services It would be nice to use the roof on the hotel for relaxing
Yes the Lady in reception was extremely helpful and pleasant No Air Conditions is a disaster for any time in July / Aug. Also no parking available beside the hotel.
It was within a short walk to the train station which connected to Cinque Centa The room was very small, there were no case facilities, the cramped conditions make only a very short stay possible. Parking is on the street, which although safe made unloading & loading a car very difficult as the street was on a hill with the hotel at the bottom
very modern facilities lack of wireless in rooms
Excellent hotel, very good service, nice and helpful staff, lovely terrace with fantastic view :-)
Nice hotel, very peaceful, wonderful scenery. No restaurant!!! We had a room for us and one for our children so were charged double by the hotel transport when only one person was paying double the bill!!
Fantastic location Wonderful views Very clean and spacious Friendly staff Shuttle service to local beach and town only five euro return No restuarant
The breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful
Run by accounting, water not hot enough no tissues not 4 star 3.5
The location and the friendliness of the staff
Large comfortable room, friendly staff, good breakfast Quite a long way up the hill, but pleasant view when you get there.
The two brothers from Rome and the gentleman from Rapallo at the desk couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Rooms were very clean, breakfasts good and views and property very pleasing. It was great to have a garage as well. Mattress was rock hard.
Beautiful view. Lovely place with friendly family service. It's a little tricky to find.
View from hotel was spectacular. Staff was very friendly and helpful (we didn't speak the native language).
well marked and located near the station. clean rooms. friendly staff. close to beach (less than 5 min walk) and a great little wine bar. a bit noisy from the passing trains...surprisingly no building vibrations...they provide earplugs
loved the quaint hotel and room atmosphere, quiet village away from the tourists, ease of access to Cinque Terra, breakfast on the terrace loved it - we'd return.
A beautiful old world hotel in the center of a perfect town. Bonassola was our favorite place on all of the Ligurian coast. Close to the train in the center of town; the train did not bother us at all as they do not run much at night. Beautiful antiques and a lovely setting with fresh breakfast in the garden and walking trails outside of the door. Kind English speaking staff who kept our bags while we spent the day exploring this magical place.
A warm welcome, very comfortable & clean room, with a beautiful breakfast room. The town was lovely with an excellent beach, a perfect base to explore the region, so close to the train.
close to the train 80 yr old up too many steps
Very close to railway station, Good garden breakfast in summer season Loud railway noise, small shower booth for adult
friendly staff and nice town train station too close
easy access from train and to beach. comfortable outdoor breakfast and dinners room was very small and sleeping uncomfortable
Helpful, friendly staff; nice garden area for breakfast. Our 'family room' for 5, with a linked double and triple room and bathroom, was tiny - I'm glad we only had one of our 3 children with us. The hotel was not 'in a garden' as advertised (we looked on to an old ditch and buildings), although there was a nice shady garden area for breakfast in front of the hotel. We were 20 metres from the main rail line from Italy to the South of France - noisy trains, all night. Breakfast was poor (no fruit or even fruit juice). Contrary to the impression given on your website, there were no sports activities available at the hotel - rather, in the locality ie in the Cinque Terre generally. Overall, it was really poor value for money - more like a hostel than a 3* hotel.
friendly, convenient location, atmospheric, outdoor dining and very clean
Hotel very friendly, superb location right on sea front. Rooms clean and comfortable and we loved our balcony and wonderful sea view
We really liked the location of the hotel. We were out of the hustle and bustle but in walking distance to everything.
not much Poor value for the cost. Place is dark and depressing matching the attitude of the staff.front desk is unwelcoming. If you want to walk up a lot of stairs, choose this place, they have a lift, but you basically can't use it unless you are pregnant. This was the worst hotel of our otherwise delightful trip.
Location was great. Very clean. Comfortable bed. View overlooking sea.
Beautiful ocean view, great location, so close to train station, easy walking distance to all the sites in Montorusso Hotel staff spoke very little english, not friendly but not rude.
The view over Montorosso and the bay is spectacular! The shuttle up and down the mountain side ran only once every hour. We had to keep an eye on the time, otherwise we might have to wait an hour at the hotel or an hour in town to catch the shuttle.
Room was spacious, bright and clean with an excellent view of the sea and coastline. Good shuttle service from town. My wife didn't care for the uphill walk from the town if we missed the shuttle.
The view was spectacular. The breakfast was terrific. The free shuttle bus was very helpful.
The hotel was very clean and a beautiful location, although we booked late and had a room without a view. If we would have been on the view side we would have enjoyed the stay much more. Overall this was very nice. The breakfast is good, the service is solid. The location isn't bad even though you need the shuttle to at least return from Monterossa, but you could walk down the hill if you are in between shuttle times. We were sorry not to have a view room, but the only challenge was finding it. It would have been helpful to know that this is located in the "new town" of Monterrosa, not the old. We drove down to the old town first which has no parking and no one to really help you. The "TI" is just a kiosk and doesn't provide any help.
The quiet after a busy day and the obliging staff, also the view from the balcony at the front of the room none to speak of
Clean large room, location is close to beach, hiking, and shopping, and breakfast is amazing! US rates online did not match hotel charges in Euros
Location was great. Walking distance to the train and about a block off the beach. I felt the staff wasn't exceptionally friendly. Our first impression was that the reception was rude. It was very expensive and we felt like we were a bother to them.
The hotel was fantastic - our room was clean and air-conditioned, staff was very nice and accommodating and breakfast was awesome! The hotel is in the city center, but is a bit hard to find. Other than that no problems whatsoever
The room was spacious and clean, the breakfast spread was tasty, and the location was wonderful. I would highly recommend staying here!
A very nice and new hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Around 10-15mins drive to train station for visiting Cinque Terre is OK for visitors travelling with cars.
Nice short drive to Levanto. Next to hotel is an excellent restaurant.
Quiet, peaceful location, not far from the sea. Excellent adjoining restaurant with multilingual maitre d'. The hotel name could be displayed more visibly from the road. We went straight past it and had to ask 3 times before we eventually found it.
The staff were fantastic (husband & wife team) and very welcoming. The hotel is new and the rooms are spacious and very chic - breakfast was nice and the restaurant next door (run by the husband and owned by the wife's father) was excellent. The hotel setting is very tranquil and peaceful yet close to Cinque Terre and Levanto.
the position in the forest very quiet and very comfortable room.
Lovely location beside a running stream. Fresh air and great base for Cinque Terre holiday. Room had a musty, moldy smell from bathroom which we mentioned to staff for future travellers.
The staff were great . The restaurant was excellent, very good value for the money. Hotel is located 15 minutes from the main station to take the train to go to the 5 Terre which is very convenient (cheap taxi shuttle is organised as well)
The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms are immaculately fitted out and prepared, the breakfast is great, there is a free shuttle to and from Levanto each day to the rail or boat terminus(you can also buy your Cinque Terre Pass at the hotel to avoid the crowds at the railway station). Free car parking on site. The associated restaurant next door serves perfect Italian food and wine with great service (and menu advice) at reasonable prices. One of the best experiences of our Italian holiday.
We had a "junior suite" which was large, well designed interior with a terrace overlooking the mountains. The facillities are excellent and sometimes need explination: so hypermodern (minimum and maximum roomtemperature are computercontrolled from frontdesk, in the room is the manual thermostate). The restaurant is close by, so you can fully enjoy the marvellous wine collection. We suggested to the owner to put noice absorbers under the chairs because of the beautifully tiled floors. It will improve the comfort.
the design, attentiveness of the owners, quiet and pleasant place, about 4 km from levanto where there's a local train to cinque terre. only pay tv
A quiet and nice hotel to stay at. A very good breakfast makes a good start to the day
Access to the glorious cinque terra.
It was a quiet hotel with a nice staff. The room and bath were a good size, the complimentary breakfast was very nice. It was set up on a hill in a garden setting with a fountain out front. The air conditioning was a bit weak, the first two evenings were very warm and it was uncomfortable sleeping. The tile floor in the bedroom was a bit dirty.
Very good breakfast, helpful staff, Overlooking the railway line, Access road to parking is very steep and difficult, only suitable for small cars.
it is off the beaten path so it is quiet. you can hear the train but the noise is not bad. you can sit outside and read on nice lawn chairs. ocean is 2 blocks away. laundry facility one block away. quiet. a few blocks from the beach. walk up a short hill to get to the front door of the hotel, if you have heavy bags to carry it would be difficult. The hotel is being up dated. Some of the hotel is a 2 star not a 3 star. should be finished soon. Breakfast is good. Train station is walkable-about 4 blocks
It was a very comfortable place to be
the breakfast was amazing and the servcie was excellent.
I found the staff very very helpful, the facilities were very modern and clean. The assortment for breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The walk up the hill from the gate.
Picturesque site and location convenient to train station.
The building is beautiful, the personnel efficient and nice very small television with poor reception
Near the beach, friendly, English speaking staff, Clean room. A/c controls were difficult to figure out, so hot or cold.
Fantastic hotel. So glad we chose to stay here rather than in one of the Cinque Terre villages. Levanto has so much to offer in terms of dining and shopping and having the ability to drive in and park for free was definitely a plus. Parking is a really short walk, no more than 10 minutes. The staff were very helpful and friendly and breakfast was great too. I would definitely stay again.
clean, value, great breakfast, free parking, friendly clerk who helped with bags no elevator, bit difficult to find
Hotel Garden is nicely located close to the beach and the hiking trails. We hiked from Levanto to Monterosso and back (approx. 25 km.). Very beautiful. The breakfast was superb and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. Parking was free but it was a 20 minute walk back to the hotel.
Hotel garden had well appointed large rooms which were value for money. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast served was excellent including lovely coffees. The hotel was well placed for the beach and the towns facilities. Lift didnt go to hotel reception floor
The hotel was very clean and the room was a good size for value. Breakfast was not provided as was indicated on this site.
Everything was perfect. I would highly reccommend it to friends . Great staff who spoke excellent English made it even more enjoyable. Two minutes walk to the beach with the best power shower in Italy to come back to. Plenty of good restaurrants within easy walking diatance to the hotel and the villages of the Cinque Terres at your doorstep. Great value for money !
hotel staff was very nice very loud!! lots of street noise until after midnight and starting about 6:00a.m. and lots of noise from the hotel maids starting about 7:30 a.m.
Ease of registration, very helpful staff. The computer with internet, in the lobby, was very useful to help us with the rest of our trip. We had a great stay and the advice we asked for was accurate.
Spotlessly clean, engaging staff, excellent continental breakfast
I experienced the hotel to have a very familiar and enjoyable atmosphere with clean, modern rooms and a rich breakfast.
