Nothing. extremely outdated. Expected way more out of a ski resort. I will never stay again. Staff unfriendly and not helpful. False advertising. Room was not even close to the pictures shown for the resort.
The room was ready earlier than 5:00 Check in not until 5:00. Not handicapped accessible. The parking lot had been closed for the season. We walked a long way at 11:00 p.m. in the rain after returning from a wedding. Credit card charged extra just in case. Will wait and see if $ is refunded.
The pizza palor on the resort is great. There is plenty to do. The staff is very friendly.
the only thing that I can see is the rooms were a bit dated but I was impressed with the cleanliness and that matters the most to me. The continental breakfast and food availability was awesome. Definitely where I will stay next time in Petoskey
Friendly staff, nice room for the price, close to downtown
Friendly staff. Small bathroom. Not enough tables to accommodate everyone in the cafeteria.
Room was very spacious and loved the patio walkout with the bay view.
Clean, comfortable rooms Friendly staff Coffee always available in the lobby
Centrally located to all the activities in the area Pool had WAY too much chlorine. Our room was right off the communal fathering area and was quite noisey
All staff, a.m. p.m. shifts were excellent, very friendly. Calling the room bay view was a stretch, you could see it in the distance but saw more of the building's roof next door and their rooftop equipment.
This is her second time here. We brought my inlaws with us and got them a room also. I love that all of the rooms are different with their own touches. The view of the bay is awesome. You feel like you went back in time 100 years staying here. When we were here in the summer they had the bar open on the patio but that was closed this time so we sat on the big porch outfront and had a great time
terrific locale -- right in the heart of downtown Petosey. It's walkable to shops and restaurants. the amenities, furniture and rooms left much to be desired. Yes, it's a boutique hotel, but it felt like my wife and I had broken into a 100 year old woman's attic and were sleeping on a family heirloom straw bed. Nothing was comfortable (or clean). The TV was smaller and older than my parents' computer monitor. I'm not sure what my $250+ "deal" paid for.
I really enjoyed the comfort of the bed and the pillows. It was a beautiful room and the attention to detail was perfect! They really did everything they could think of to make the room as comfortable as possible. I also loved the "thickness" of the towels!
The Perry is a great old hotel experience. Just a wonderful spot in an amazing town.
History was evident. Well maintained. Easy to get to. Walking distance to shops. They had a large group rent their main lobby and restaurant. Noisy! Took away the quaint.
We get the king room with the spa tub and it was awesome The staff were super nice and they had fresh cookies :) Nothing I can think of. If you want quaint out of main town this would not be the best place to stay

No elevator. Cracked tiles and tub.
Very nice and clean.
The location was nice. The hotel is very very dated. It feels cheap and like they took it straight from 1985. For the price...I would suggest to find another location. I booked online so it came with a fee to cancel. So more or less I was stuck with what I got.
Really good TV, several movie channels available. Wifi worked well, bed was comfortable with a good pillow selection. Lots of soft fluffy towels and enough soap. Musty smell to the room, probably related to the concrete-block foundation and carpeting. Mildew on the ceiling in the shower area. Hair dryer didn't work; response when I reported this to the front desk was a useless "gosh darn it!" Breakfast was all donuts & muffins with some juice and coffee. Went elsewhere to eat :-/ Disappointing view - Petoskey and the Bay blocked by buildings across the street.
Pool, hot tub, and sauna were great. Beds were very comfortable. We woke up to the smell of marijuana at 4am. Had to run the bathroom fan all night and open the window. Staff just said sorry. We were surprised that they didn't offer us any compensation for the bad experience.
A good night sleep. Hotel is under renovation.
Was pleasantly surprised at this Super 8. I travel a lot for business and stay in a lot of hotels preferring Holiday Inn's (mostly due to their reward program) and was a little sceptical but on a recent ski trip we found the room to be large, clean and except for the small tube TV ( come on, flat screens are like $200), very adequate.
Our family has stayed in 5 star hotels to no stars..., but by far this hotel's house keeping was the best!\nThe room was clean! The house keeping kept it very clean during our whole stay! The house keeping was better than the 'Wynn' in Las Vegas! We were pleasently surprised by this! The kids loved the pool... The location of this hotel was close to town and beaches! Great price!!! Good breakfast!!! We will be staying at this hotel again! Thanks!
We stayed at the Super 8 Petoskey for 3 nights. We were surprised by all the amenities at the hotel considering the price. It far exceeded our expectations. We had a bayview room which was worth the upgrade. Our room had two queen beds and we found it was much larger than a typical hotel room. It also had a small table which we liked. We requested a refrigerator and also received a microwave as well. The bathroom was also on the larger side with a nice, modern shower. The room and bathroom were very clean. Our room was cleaned everyday and towels were refreshed, etc. The lobby had fresh fruit everyday as well as coffee. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning. They had a better-than-continental style breakfast which included several types of cereals, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, hard boiled eggs, bagels, muffins, fruit, plus waffle irons to make your own waffles. The food was very well re-stocked and the nice lady even gave my kids a frozen go-gurt each day which they saved for lunchtime. We also loved the pool which we had all to ourselves since we went each evening around 5:30. It was larger than most hotel pools and was heated (some hotels say their pool is heated when it is clearly not). There was also a very large hot tub. We have 3 young children so a major convenience with the pool area was that there was a bathroom right in the pool-room. At most hotels it is down the hallway. All the employees were very friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. The town of Petoskey was wonderful as well. Next time we visit we will definitely stay here again!
We have been to Petoskey many times but there was still some local knowledge that the front desk was awesome in helping us out. We were originally schedule to be in a back room with a lovely view of a hill but they were able to help us and move us to a room on the front of the hotel with an awesome view of the bay. Request the front if you have a choice.
Typical Hotel room with no bells or whistles, price was a bit high due to some event in the area, otherwise just another excuse to jack the rates up!
We never expected a Super 8 to be this clean and pleasant to stay in. It was well worth the money and I would recommend it to anyone.
We were greeted by the very friendly Miranda at the front desk. She was very helpful with answering all of our questions about Petosky stones, location of beaches, restaurants etc. We requested a room on first floor/by pool..no problem. Breakfast is very good and the staff keeps all of the items filled in and fresh. Clean rooms/pool area. Internet worked great. Also a great location.
The manager at this hotel was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Not quite on the main road up to the ski areas the view out of the front of the hotel was beautiful as it overlooked the bay to the north. Breakfast was traditional as with most hotels but as always convienient and clean and well stocked. My daughter really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Would definitely stay here again.
This hotel was fabulous -- great facility, great food, and great service. The staff was so friendly and even helped me to identify where to find Petoskey stones, local restaurants, etc. Room was large and beds were very comfortable. We went for a snowboarding trip and it was an excellent location - right between Boyne Mountain and Nubs Nob & Boyne Highlands.
Very nice for a budget hotel. Very clean. The staff was quite friendly and helpful with lots of local knowledge. Pool was OK. Not the greatest location, as there are no good walking/cycling routes to city center.
I found this hotel to be very clean and very comfortable. Included in the price was\nbreakfast bar which was very clean and well stocked. The employees where very\nkind and helpful with directions. I enjoyed the view from my window to the bay. The\nhotel is not on the main road but worth the short mile for the comfort and kindness we\nreceived form the staff.
Least expensive local option. No protein in breakfast. Could easily be cleaner and nicer with a little work.
The service was great. Staff was super friendly. Upgraded us for a good deal. Could use a serious remodeling.
Nothing Hotel was dirty and in bad disrepair. Wallpaper was peeling off in big chunks and there was mold in the bathroom. The health department should shut this place down.
The location was fine for my purposes. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. But the rest of the experience was awful. The exterior of the EconoLodge is dingy and looks unkept. First, there was blue tape all over the door and door lock (most of the tape had been removed but not all), when I opened the door the furnace had been left on High heat and high fan so it was blasting and felt like an oven. I had to slam the door several times to get it to latch securely even though it looked like it was shut. The carpet was threadbare. There was a dirty towel on the floor behind the bathroom door. The tub surround was cracked and moldy. I could hear the shower in the next room dripping, dripping. (I couldn't bring myself to use the shower in the morning it was so gross). The in-room fridge's door didn't seal and I could see the bottom of the fridge even though the door was closed. Sheets looked clean but the blanket had food crumbs on it. I went to WalMart and bought sheets afraid I'd get bedbugs. The TV got ONE channel, an infomercial/religious channel. They hadn't snow plowed the parking lot. It was a near-blizzard outside, 5 degrees, but I was nearly tempted to sleep in my car. If it hadn't been a non-refundable room, I would've left in an instant. As I was stuck with it I stayed, but barely slept and couldn't bring myself to use the shower. NEVER AGAIN!!!
I liked nothing. There was mold surrounding the entire. bottom of our bathroom, the tub was cracked and separating from the wall the ceiling above us was cracked and paint was pealing off, the beds were as hard as a rock and it was a awful experience. I could of gotten way better for the same price. I liked nothing. Nithing There was a holein the wall, room was smoky, dingy and dirty. Incredibly cheap and outdated
One staff member was particularly grumpy
I was lucky to get the room for dirt cheap. Do not pay more than $50 for this room. It was probably the dirtiest place I've ever stayed. Here's a short list of why: Room smelled like cigarettes. Carpet was dirty and stained. Wallpaper is peeling off the walls. The tv didn't work. The hot tub was out of order indefinitely. The pool smelled like an aquarium. Only stay here if you can't find anything else and NEED a bed to sleep in.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable enough for one night. The grounds were just a giant gravel field with an ancient rusting construction trailer (the hotel was far from new), the exterior of the building had not been maintained in decades, and there were random pallets and debris strewn about the periphery. The stairs were exterior and rusty. The price was too hight for what I got.
You either had high heat or no heat, the outside was very dated. The toilet ran all day and night. The beds are not comfortable.
