9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved Chateau de Nazé with its Old-World charm and beautiful antiques. Beautifully situated in its own park...an ideal place for walking our dogs and enjoying the countryside. We received a very warm welcome from Maritée, the owner, who treated us as friends from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble and we enjoyed her company as well as her beautiful home. The breakfast was served in a lovely room with many original features and was most enjoyable, with cherries from her own garden served along with warm croissants and home made yoghurt. We really felt welcome and could have spent several more days there enjoying her wonderful hospitality.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was very charming, as was the host. He lugged my bags up the twisty staircase so I didn't have to. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious...we had everything we needed. Breakfast was clearly very important to the host who made home-made delights for breakfast, fruit compote and home made jams to go with the warmed croissants and very nice bread. Coffee was great, my husband thought tea with hot milk was a little strange but everything else was wonderful. We were sent off with a pot of selected home-grown tomatoes. The view of the Loire river at the end of the street was gorgeous and shouldn't be missed.
Cons: Nothing at all to dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An extremely cozy and comfortable place. Sebastian (the owner and main manager) is very friendly, quiet, and practical person ready to help with any question. The house is right at the Loire river, and after sunset we went to sit at the bank to have a glass of red, look at the moon reflection, and speak with frogs. An amazing experience!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quirky, unusual, artistic place to stay
Cons: Premises could only be accessed through the host's house. This was not an issue for us however as we had only one overnight stay and host was very pleasant and helpful

Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was like a beautiful artwork, full of exceptional furniture, glassware, statues, plants/flowers - all arranged perfectly by Sebastian the owner. An absolute delight to visit. Each morning we had fresh croissants, an excellent assortment of bread, home made jams, from the owners garden. The real treat was having a different and exquisite set of china each morning to eat the very French breakfast on. It’s the most interesting hotel I’ve ever stayed at - a truly visual treat.
Cons: I wish the local restaurant next to the hotel, overlooking the Loire hadn’t been fully booked, it was recommended.... next time maybe.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unusual accommodation in the top of the building, very charming, and wonderfully decorated. Location is next to a river with great walking along bank.
Cons: The entrance door was a little difficult to find at first, and the parking is round corner from building in a public area but is a safe and quiet location.

Pros: A peaceful location a few metres from the river Loire with views to a tree lined river bank. The whole accommodation was wonderfully decorated with many interesting objets d'art and beautiful little courtyard gardens. It was spotlessly clean. The host was extremly helpful. The breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious, made with produce from the hosts garden.
Cons: Northing (apart from the weather was very hot!)

Pros: Location, friendly host, use of kitchen,
Cons: Gravel driveway was difficult with motorbikes
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived it was clear this was a good one. The owner Bene welcomed us, gave us maps, showed us restaurants and making te booking for us. The room was huge, upstairs in a converted barn. Comfortable bed and plenty of room to sit. Excellent bathroom too. Outside you can sit in the sun surrounded by vines as far as the eye can see, with the church steeple of St Nicholas de Bourgueil on the horizon. The breakfast is exceptional. The first morning Bene made us pain perdu - a bit like French toast with brioche - and the second day there was a homemade hazelnut cake. Add to that quality bread and homemade jams, fruit including delicious grapes and strawberries from the garden, fab. Breakfast is at a large table, on our own the first day and then with a group of four Americans on a cycling holiday. Unusually for a chamber d’hote there is a kitchen which can be used bulky guests - we didn’t, but for those staying longer or on a tight budget it’s a great facility. Highly recommended
Cons: Nothing, but a couple of things to note. A car is essential as it’s in the countryside. Also, the steps up to the room are quite steep, so I’d recommend that anyone with mobility problems requests a ground floor room.

Pros: Amazing place and family. Very helpful. Needed assistance from local nurse. Owner arranged everything and came to see at the Chateau. 7.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful house in a lovely location. The staff took a personal interest in making us welcome and looking after our needs.
Cons: We were on the top floor. Access was via a very interesting staircase which might prove to be a challenge for some folk. The hotel plans to install a new access later this year so this issue will hopefully soon be resolved.
6.0 Good
Pros:
Cons: Lovely hotel, but the internet and the hotel info stated the evening meal was 35 Euro, to include 4 wines. We were charged 12 Euro each for the wine and 2 Euro for a sachet of coffee. It was great food, but we left feeling very cheated.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very hard to find unless you get directions from the host. Strongly recommend telephoning beforehand to get directions. We were not offered breakfast (other than the coffee maker in the room) and there is no restaurant at the site, although there is a very good one quite close (not walking distance). Neither of these constraints was important for us as there is a hypermarket in Bourgueil and a supermarket that is closer. There is the means to cook a simple meal for two in the room, but we simply ate hot at midday while out and bought stuff for breakfast and dinner. When you consider the wonderful viennoiserie, patisserie, bread, charcuterie, cheese, fruit and wine availabe in the region this is scarcely a hardship. In fact it was very pleasant to have these meals "at home" as it were. The guys running the place are friendly and helpful. The location in the middle of the St Nicolas forest is exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and intend to return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts were very friendly, helpful and accommodated. Even with our language differences we were able to communicate. Love the "farm-feeling" and the kids enjoyed walking between the horses and chicken. Literally used this as a sleep-over, so wasn't able to make use of all the facilities and/or explore the surroundings. Huge supermarket within 5min drive. Our modernly-decorated family room was very cozy and big enough to accommodate us and our 2x small children - with a very comfy futon and 2x single beds (the bedding was amazing!) Had a great breakfast prepared for us by our hosts. A bit weird to share the bathroom with the hosts, but it was do-able and not an issue for us. We just loved the modern decoration and how the old farmhouse has been renovated. Highly recommended!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and clean place. Fully equipped (though small) kitchen with coffee and tea and all the utensils. Full bath, good heating.
Cons: The location is a bit further from everything. The hosts speak only French. 5 cats all trying to sneak into your door, because they are cold outside
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome. Very attentive hosts. Peaceful location. We booked an evening meal which was superb in terms of both quality and value. Recommended.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Decent room with good facilities in a former shed. Good breakfast and huge cups of coffee. Extra: basic swimming pool.
Cons: Unable to use the TV. Rather small bathroom. Access to the bedroom via a ladder. A bit expensive. Noisy roosters!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Located in the farm. Unique experience. The host was very helpful and we liked the morning view. The property has all the basic stuff: kitchenette, bath and sleeping.
Cons: The stairs are not comfortable. Had a little bit dust on floor.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic welcome and very friendly owner. Fabulous breakfast with homemade jams, fresh coffee and juices. Our children fell in love with all the animals.
7.5 Good
Pros: Owners were very friendly and came to find as very remote and we got lost. The place was clean and very quaint for an overnight stop only.
Cons: Very quaint and different - stairs steep, def no good if you're old. Ceiling very low as in eaves of what looked like a barn conversation. Hand towels no good after a shower. Breakfast was extra but lovely so quite expensive to others we used whereby it was included. Very hospitable though, very remote.
7.0 Good
Pros: The property is in the village in the middle of nowhere with lots of animal, hosts were very friendly and helpfull.
Cons: The nearest restaurant 20 km away, a bed very uncomfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pretty place, in the middle of fields & woods, everything & everyone here is very peaceful, quiet & of gentle nature. All food fresh, locally produced & organic. We all had a great sleep there. The hosts are very attentive, kind & generous. The farm is paradise for city children! - already missing all the wonderful creatures living on the farm, especially the adorable super cute cats Chanel & Biscuit and the newly born puppies! No TV. You get woken up by roosters & curiously by the neighbours’ dog barking at precisely 8.15am. Christophe & Jean Louis took us back last second when our next hotel we booked refused to accept us outside their check-in hours. Lovely interesting evening of drinking wine & chatting with them, getting first hand experience & knowledge about Loire Valley & France from the authentic source. Just to keep in mind you’ll need a car to reach here.
Cons: Personally liked everything.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Cleanliness, roof-windows were nice. Wi Fi was good. The kitchen is well equipped. Drying rack for clothing is good as well
Cons: The hostess could not speak any words in English, so we used our fingers for communication. The property we have booked is named "One bedroom house", but it is not! It is just very small Studio apartment in the attic. When we came we have immediately checked the photos and property description on Booking.com. Photos are shown only parts of this Studio, but you cannot imagine the size of the room using this pictures. I added some of them in my feedback for others guests. The stairs to this attic studio does not have any handrail so it could be dangerous for older people or children. The table in the dining area is too high. Garden view means just parking area view and the outdoor furniture is directly on the parking. I added photos with view of the entrance to the Studio (the door in the roof), the view from the outdoor dining area and the view of the whole apartment from the bed.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were very helpfull !

Pros: Luxurious, beautiful chateau. The owners are lovely and very friendly. It is not too big, just right to give you space to walk around. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the patio with the only sound being the birds tweeting...
Cons: There was an interconnecting door in our room and we could hear every word spoken by the people in the next room.... Could this be sorted??

Pros: Extremely comfortable bed, sofa. It had all the facilities you need for a self catering stay. It was very peaceful even though it was.nearly full. We received a lovely welcome and assistance to the chateau and our room as well as a guided tour of the facilities. The room came with a welcome basket of basics to make a quick dinner if needed. They thought of everything.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Beautiful french chateau great hostess fairly close to beautiful loire towns and chateaux. Nice and to be able to do your own cooking if you want. Beautiful parkland for walks.Swimming pool. Would recommend for a couple of nights we loved it.
Cons: No airconditoning not sure why french accommodation spend so much on heating when the tourists are not around at that time of year and the hottest time of the year no one spends money on keeping you cool when the windows are open at night there are mosquitos. They had a swimming pool which is lovely but not when your trying to sleep

Pros: Just felt like royalty staying at Chateau Jalesnes and the history of the property was tremendous. Lovely welcome by Michael with bubbly Loire wine and grand salon comfy leather sofas. The chateau is very well maintained, very clean and the apartment was so well appointed (Price de Condé), I wish I would have stayed longer. Lovely sunsets over the pool are to die for!
Cons: Nothing

Pros: A beautiful chateau in the Loire that you get to live in! It's very picturesque and while the halls and common areas feel very traditional and charming the bedrooms are very modern and comfortable. It's self-catered but with the option of breakfast delivered to your room in the morning. The breakfast is probably worth it, but if you are a dab hand at preparing your own morning eggs you're just as well doing a quick supply run to the nearby supermarket. The pool is large and they have a court for playing boules right beside.
Cons: While they recommended a couple of good restaurants and google also informed us some good restaurants were in easy driving distance when I tried to book around lunch time for that night they were full for reservations. Not the hotel's fault at all, but a tip would be booking in your dinners ahead of time if you are visiting in the high summer.

Pros: Everything! What a great place to spend a couple days. The apartment was spacious, the views are amazing, the pool is perfect, and the staff could not have been more kind and accommodating. An added bonus were the other guests at the place. We spent the mornings exploring the area, the afternoons in the pool, and the evenings enjoying the front lawn with other guests and kids. We certainly will return again.

Pros: Great apartment , not a criticism , but how about selling a selection of wine ? Or having a courtesy Bar in the Lounge , nice if you have arrived after a long trip !
Cons: Great bed , fully equipped for everything you need , great for once to get a good tv selection for us Brit’s ( rather than BBC World News )

Cons: Hardly a ‘didn’t like’ but it might have been good to have had a bar

Pros: Just the place we were looking for! When we thought of a place to stay along the Loire - we imagined a place like this. Covered in history and french charm. As a bonus the family who is running it - are amazing people. Always there to help and take genuine interest in their guests and their inquiries. The place is run with green and organic in mind. They even used natural based materials for renovation. Would highly recommend!

Pros: The lady who owned it
Cons: The husband of the lady who owned it. We didn't like his reaction when we told him we accidentally broke a piece off a chandelier that was hanging very low over the bed!

Pros: It was a great location for visiting some of the wonderful places nearby and there is so much to see locally, Our room had a view and was very comfortable. The bed very comfy and the shower was one of the best we have experienced in our travels. Having access to tea and coffee making facilites and a lounge was great. We were made to feel very much at home by our hosts who generously shared their local knowledge and made our visit very memorable.

Pros: Good breakfast, lovely hosts, beautifully restored old house, very relaxing location
5.0 Okay
Pros: Owner was very friendly, and offered to take our luggage onto our next hotel (we were on a walking trip). Trogladyte caves immediately behind the property.
Cons: The owners are gradually doing this chamber d'hote up. But Booking.com listed an Executive Lounge which was actually a room with a large hearth with the ashes still in, some cups and a kettle, milk in the kitchen downstairs, wifi connection only outside, no tv, no computer, second-hand shabby furniture, anything but Executive. Bedroom was just about OK. Walls had been painted over the original concrete.

Pros: Nora and Sam are great hosts. This summer is/was very hot in Europe and the pool was just perfect for us and the kids. The dog Maya is super sweet and the kids loved her right from the start. We had dinner at the Cafe and it was straight out awesome - Sam is a great Chef - my wife still talks about her meal. Noteworthy is also the wine cellar. You go and pick you own wine, which is very modestly priced. Before we left we could enjoy a great breakfast - I believe it was the only time, our kids ate to get their tummy’s full on the entire trip Hope we’ll have the chance to come back to Cafe de la Promenade!!
