Great ambiance and atmosphere, old world charm with modern amenities, a little quirky with slightly sloping floors but that added to the charm of the place. Our room was right beside a cupboard with some kind of noisy machinery inside that you could hear from our room, but despite our fears it didn't keep us awake.
The garden was pleasant and well cared for, a definite asset The food was poorly prepared and the menus exaggerated the meals
the bar area was very nice and evening staff were friendly. the bathroom wasn't up to a standard of cleanliness
easy access to town and interesting areas of brecon the member of staff handling breakfast appeared to be alone and therefore the meal was slow with food running out several times with quite a wait for replenishment
The hotel was in a central location of the town with outstanding views of the Brecon Beacons
very friendly staff, gorgeous food and will be returning NA
The view from the room windows was absolutely great. The ambience of the room was pretty good too (when the heating WAS working! We had no heating in the room on the mornng or our stay, with -11 outside it was a bit nippy!
Lovely food from the bar, great breakfast and lovely views from our room. Bed was hard and uncomfortable.
It was very expensive for all that was available.
Hotel was very well located. Food was very good and the general ambience of the public areas - bar and restaurant - was similarly good. I would certainly stay again, although might not go for a superior room, as it did not feel overly superior! Tatty coathangers in the wardrobe, not one of which was suitable to hang trousers
The full english breakfast was exellent. The whole feel to the place was nice and laid back, The room was not cleaned or visted by a maid the whole time we where tthere, which was two nights. Also the rooms are a bit close together.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful, but respected our privacy. They got the balance just right. Nothing.
Relaxed atmosphere No adjacent parking
The staff were polite and helpful; the food was very good and not too expensive; the rrom was warm and perfect for what I needed. The room was quite basic, no TV remote and the TV picture was very poor; these are very minor issues and overall it was fine.
It's central location.
This Hotel needs checking or taken off your books
Nice old building kept in a good and clean condition. Friendly atmosphere and friendly staff. With a good location in the centre of Brecon.
the room size was excellent though would've benefited from a more thorough clean. the food at the hotel was of a good quality and very good value for money. on a whole a very relaxed atmosphere with in the hotel with a wide range of cultures and nationalalitys. the only fault would be there is no hotel parking though there are several car parks within an easy reach of the hotel.
we have stayed at the wellington twice this year and enjoyed both stays the staff and really friendly and it is very chilled out and relaxing we have no complaints the hotel is in the ideal location
Poor atmosphere, poor attitude, not welcoming.
The staff was helpful, the room was clean & homely.. Food was also brilliant.. Highly recommended
Good personal service and standard of rooms excellent. Easy to find and located within easy walking distance of the town centre. Parking limited.
Clean and freshly painted, lots of toiletries in bathroom, comfy bed. Breakfasts are fantastic. Hosts very knowledgable about area and always helpful and willing to give advice. Hosts work hard to ensure a peaceful stay for everyone. Slow to top up orange juice at breakfast, floor boards in room above were creaky, didnt help having 2 gorillas bounding about which is not Coach House fault. Minor, very minor fault picking really.
Lovely place to stay, nicely decorated very relaxing. Good choice of breakfast, very pleasant time will be going back again.
Very clean, stylish and comfortable, good food.
Friendly atmosfere.Clean.Wonderful garden. No
Loved the relxed country house style, like staying in someone else's home. A very peaceful stay. Staff welcoming and friendly. Would have preferred the dinner menu to have changed more frequently. The quality of food was good but the lack of variety may be a problem for stays of more than a few days.
The atmosphere of staying in a luxurious private house, with gourmet food to match and unobtrusive but attentive staff.
From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and at home. Without exception the staff were delightful, it is difficult to fault it for the price. Also for the price the food was very good indeed. All in all very comfortable and relaxing. The car park which is outside the entrance to the Hotel was a sea of muddy water which made an awful mess on the inside of our car on departure. For a hotel of this standard it should be a solid surface. It would also benefit from some lighting. The location map on the agencies website is incorrect, it shows Llangoed hall on the A470 South of Brecon just before the Village of Lebanus.
The seting of the Hall was wonderful and the food was excellent. We did find the hotel quite warm but do understand the need to keep temperature at a certain level
unobtrusive style and comfort- the pictures- the setting and the food
the polite and really helpful staff and size of the bedrooms and beutiful set out gardens
Equisite feel of a country house
I loved it, the room, the restaurant, the spar, the location all 5* It was peaceful vary relaxing. Nothing
The food was excellent as was the service. The staff were friendly and accomodating. We fely the room was a little dusty and the bidet had no hot water.
Fabulous location; great menu & dining; superb room; unexpectedly well appointed leisure facilities; very friendly and relaxing atmosphere
Availability of the Gym I prefer NOT to stay in modern hotel boxes. Temperature control in the bathroom
dining was perfect!! Welcome could be more friendly. We stayed in some similar hotels and think this one is somewhat overpriced.
The staff were very friendly - the room was excellent - evening meal first class and a great location. No bad points
Very relaxing ambience and excellent courteous friendly service Lovely room but at top of hotel, 4 medium flights of stairs, not suitable for less mobile and no mention of this when booking with booking.com
Comfortable little hotel with friendly and competent staff. Very good Thai food.
The New Inn is a nice, friendly, comfortable place which served us with excellent Thai food (other menu available). After a long day walking in the Brecons we checked in to a friendly atmosphere where the staff couldn't help us enough. The bar was well stocked with a variety of draught beers and the first Guinness went down like a treat. The room, although basic, was clean, airy, and warm. There wasn't a bath in our room but a decent electric shower which chucked out loads of hot water. It was also furnished with a good size freeview telly for crashing out on the bed and watching. Value for money, I'd say the New Inn is an excellent place to stay and would definately consider again in the near future for a weekend stay.
The staff were friendly and helpful The room is noisy and could not sleep. The electric shower in the room did not give hot water
The locals for a chat
The room was clean.....the booking was easy and the bed was comfy! The room did not look like the pics, I thought it was in brecon due to the address but was actually a number of miles outside, when the tap was turned on downstairs or the loo was flushed the water pipes screamed in my room, their idea of bed and breakfast was cereals in a cupboard in your room and no opportunity to go downstairs. checkout was by 11am so I left at 10....there was no one around for me to give my key to so I just left.
The room was recently refurbished, as advertised, however; the shower was not! The bedding was feather, which was lovely and toasty and the mattress was very comfortable. The room was generally very clean, however I do have a critical eye as I run a cleaning company! The member of staff that greeted us and showed us to our room was wonderful, but the other members of staff were very shy - lovely, but shy. We also ate in the restaurant, which served beautiful thai food that my partner and I enjoyed very much. The shower head was from the 80's and the shower unit took a long time to heat the water. The shaver light did not work, which was a little frustrating when trying to apply make-up for a wedding reception. The tv stopped working when we arrived back after our night and didn't work again in the morning - I think the batteries had gone flat in the remote for the freeview box. I was also upset that they added 10% to our food bill as a service charge. I would have left a tip, however it made our meal nearly £30, which was nearly as much as the room for the night!
Politeness of staff, Thai restaurant. Breakfast! This was two containers of cereal, fruit, fruit juice and drink making facilities in my room. In every other B&B/hotel I have stayed, breakfast means breakfast in a dining room. The New Inn web site says each room has room has "it's own private shower room". My "private shower room" was along the corridor and wasn't private as evidence left by other users showed. The other problem was noise. If I wanted an early night there was quite a bit of noise while the bar was open, though it was quiet once the bar emptied.
- Newly refurbished - cheap - very clean - You have to make your own breakfast - double bed is very narrow
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the extras in the room, such as a bowl of fruit and chilled milk and orange juice were very welcome. The staff were anxious to please and truly delightful people. The restaurant was first class. The rooms were fairly small and the twin bed room did not have en-suite facilities. The car park was also a tight fit.
