This guest house is rather like a piece of art coming from end of the 19th century. It was a nice experience to inspire the lives of several generations before. The host, Vincent was so kind and helpful, I felt myself as a guest rather than a customer. I also enjoyed the breakfast and the breakfast room. Modest, but good quality and natural food was served by our host. I sincerely recommend!
Nothing at all!
Vincent the host is a true pleasure, his breakfast's including his homemade Jam and Croissants where fantastic. The building itself and the decor is divine like going back in time! A great host who couldn't do enough for you and was very chilled out and friendly. And a great property! Would definitely stay again without a second thought.
Beautiful Art Nouveau property in a lovely location by a small lake. Vincent was lovely and gave us some great recommendations of where to eat. The fixtures and furnishings were beautiful and the hotel has lots of character. Enjoyable, healthy breakfast in a light airy room overlooking the lake.
Nothing - it was perfect.
Beautiful art nouveau residence and lovely neighborhood close but not too close to the center. Easy to get around and pretty lively neighborhood. Views and ability to walk around lakes and neighborhood a big plus. Vincent is a warm and gracious host. Will definitely return.
Towels could be softer and cream could be provided with in room coffee service. These are extremely minor things and the hotel was a very good value.
The house, designed by a student of Horta, and restored just a few years ago, is a genuine museum piece in its own right. The furnishings are a rather eccentric assortment of meticulously arranged elderly pieces that give the place a charm of its own. It's impeccably clean and wonderfully spacious. Although the shower door was awkwardly located, making it difficult to get in and out, and rather easily draining water onto the floor beyond, and there are a few bits and bobs that could benefit from the brief attention of a handyman, my main regret was the absence of a functional table in my room. There was a secretaire with a rather narrow folded-out shelf, but it wasn't easy to use with a laptop. The chair was also rather worryingly frail for someone of my weight. But these are quibbles that did not spoil my enjoyment of my stay. The owner is friendly, helpful, and informative, and pays attention to the comfort and well-being of his guests. Breakfast was excellent, and the taxi, ordered for me by my host, arrived early and took me swiftly and safely to my destination.
