10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were beautiful, large, and great AC. Breakfast was amazing with lots of varieties Staff were super helpfull. I ran out of my exchanged money for taxi and the staff, Nader, game the taxi money.
Cons: Everything wa dperfedt. City is beautiful, and people are very friendly
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It mixes confort and traditional decoration ! It is not located in the center of the city, but you can reach it by a 15 min walk. Our room was very big (2 king size beds for 2 people) and clean, so was the bathroom. The whole place is nicely decorated and each room is named after an ouzbek city or famous place. The staff is very friendly, professional , and the manager at the front desk speaks good English.
Cons: Breakfast is really good but even if it is supposed to go from 7 to 10, unfortunately not much left at 9:30 …
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is good
Cons: Problems with hot water and internet.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The bedroom are really amazing ( would say a 4 + star in Europe , the bathroom could be better ( 3 - star in Europe) but ok !! breakfast great
Cons: Just the bathroom it wasn’t for its standard .
6.3 Good
Pros: The room was amazing. It was very big and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was also big with a lovely shower. The breakfast area was atmospheric and the breakfast was varied. Free water was available at all times from a fridge in the reception area.
Cons: Although we asked for pickup from the train station, there was no one there to meet us. There seemed to be a misunderstanding over the confirmation emails. However, the local taxi that we took was much cheaper than the hotel was charging, and the hotel offered a free transfer back to compensate. Our room was not cleaned one day, which we did inform the manager about. The breakfast often ran out of items and we had to keep requesting what we needed. The hotel is a long walk from the old town, and although we didn't mind this at all, for some the 15 - 20 minute walk may be too much.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff Went beyond call of duty One time Nader paid for my taxi since I didn’t have the countries money
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: Quiet area. Staff made cooperation.
Cons: 1- shower was loose and required fixing. Sink drain clogged not able to drain whole water. 2- Breakfast area was not lit enough. 3- They didn't provide kettle and tea in the room but they could bring a teapot containing teabags and cup.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The bedrooms were very comfortable, and large. Good sized bathroom and fairly clean
Cons: The foyer was very basic and dismal. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. No common area where guests could relax over a cup of tea. The breakfast area was in the basement and was very bleak. It lacked warmth and felt very basic.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was nice and clean, friendly staff.
Cons: Price was on the high side also no facilities to pay with your credit or debit card, you need to address this problem as soon as possible.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: They asked all the time for the key of the room.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: I like the location but the facilities and the toilet and bathroom was catastrophic, we couldn’t get shower properly and comfortably, not enough toilet paper, shower was very bad. I would recommend that you guys should check the room and the facilities before you check in. There are other hotels better than this.
Cons: Nothing really!

Hotel Barfina - Bukhara - Room amenity

6.3 Good
Pros: The room had hot water, functioning AC, and a firm mattress. When the manager was available, he was friendly and also assisted early check-out and taxi. The hotel is a short walk from the main sights.
Cons: Arrived around 11pm to find no one at the desk, except for a very small child who was uncommunicative. We were unable to reach the manager by phone and eventually found and took a key without knowing if it was our room. The desk remained unmanned during our stay and we were only able to reach the manager if we were able to find someone to phone him.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: all place and kind stuff.
Cons: nothing.
6.3 Good
Cons: Hotel Barfina is not a hotel in the Western understanding. A very nice family sublets rooms in their big house, in which they all live. In order to find the hosts, you sometimes have to knock on their bedroom door since the kids are at the reception watching TV. The family is friendly, but it was very unclear whether breakfast is served or not. The initial answer was yes, but when I asked for breakfast on the third day, the lady looked at me astonished and said she could offer me coffee and a piece of cake. The hotel opened just a year ago, so there is definitely potential for improvement.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: nice place kind stuff clean room nice location and more...
Cons: not thing.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Good location.
Cons: The Hotel is well located, that's the best thing about it. Everything else is horrendous. The room was really dirty, the shower was brown with dirt and the water didn't go down the drain. The toilet seat broken. We stayed two nights, the first morning we woke up at 9, we had arranged having breakfast at 10 the night before. When we went downstairs no one was there, only one of the kids, we asked him and he went to wake up the owners. After more than half hour waiting on the stairs we were received with one egg and tea and the lady who served it ( the mother we guessed) didn't even acknowledge us, drop the plates with the eggs and went back to bed. During the day we left to see the city and when we came back the door was close, no one around and the number where it says you can call is old. We had to wait and go call neighbors to get in. The following morning we didn't even attempt the breakfast. The owner was nowhere to be seen and if you needed anything it was the child you had to speak to. They didn't give us internet even though we saw the children using it and playing online. Never coming back. Really nasty place to stay.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing about it. Except that i was able to boil some rice in the kitchen.
Cons: It is just like some haunted place where hardly any one stays. Breakfast was good for nothing. A hopeless experience.
5.8 Okay
Pros: This is a family run hotel, the staff is very courteous ,friendly and helpful .
Cons: Location is a ten minute walk to the main touristic location .. The room was big but a bit dingy ( old musty smell ) , the bathroom and toilet were not clean . Only pick up from airport / train station - u have to pay for the drop off Breakfast was pathetic

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely nice and helpful personal! Breakfast was very tasty; moreover they cooked some local food for themselves and suggested us to test it. Home filling! The short distance to the old town, the cost is about 50cents by taxi.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A friendly friend at the reception made it a comfortable accommodation. I was able to communicate in English. I was so grateful to you for being as considerate as possible. The Wi-Fi worked well and the breakfast was not very varied, but it was good to eat. The room was very spacious, the air conditioner worked well, and the hotel's design was pretty nice, so I could see many wedding photos.
Cons: The access to "ARK," or Kalan Minaret, was pretty good, but it was a little bit far from the Rabihaus, the center. It took about 15 to 20 minutes to walk and about 5 minutes by taxi.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's really a boutique hotel with excellent and exquisite interiors in the room and lobby. Very neat and clean rooms with good facilities. The owner and staff were very courteous and helpful. Overall, very good place to stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly. They allowed us to check out late which was really nice to stay in the air conditioning while it was hot before our train in the evening.
Cons: I don’t mind paying extra for the pool but there is no pool on site so I don’t think that this property should list that it has a pool. When I asked about it they said I had to order ahead for the pool. It was 41C in Bukhara, and the pool was one of the main reason I chose the property, so that’s disappointing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Got room Upgrade without paying more.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I booked a single bed for they offer me twin room but it’s good comfortable bed and good aircon. The staff is really help me out and breakfast is good Good walking distance to central town
Cons: I want to swim in swimming pool but unfortunately there is work going on
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, including Azimjon, who went out of his way to ensure my needs were met and provided local insight and recommendations. Hotel bicycles, a good breakfast, strong air conditioning and WiFi signal (average Internet speed for Uz), fridge access, drinking water, outside sitting area, intricately decorated with fine attention to detail, as another review mentioned, it does feel like a Royal palace inside! A great stay and a unique property you will remember.
Cons: The pool doesn't belong to the hotel, is an extra charge per hour.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely family run place in the most central location possible in the Old City. Perfect place to explore Bukhara. Lovely food and a really authentic feel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming and hospitable family and always there for you when you need something or have questions. The guesthouse is at a very central location (literally in the center), everything is at 5-10min walking distance. The single room is spacious and clean. They even have a heater as it can get quite cold in the room. Free WiFi available and towels are provided.  Breakfast is OK and consists of bread, sausage, omelet, butter, jam and grapes. As a vegetarian they prepared an alternative: a tomato & cucumber salad with some rice.  In terms of reducing plastic waste by not buying waterbottles, it's great that they provide drinking water so you can refill your bottle.  To get there by public transportation from the trainstation, take bus 378 (1000SOM), get off at the busstop "Samarkandskiy" (approx 30-40min) and then it's a 10min walk towards the city center & guesthouse. Only during the day.
Cons: Breakfast is OK but basic. Some variety like melon as a fruit or cheese would be nice.  Other than that I had a great stay!

The hotel is built inside an old madressa, around a charming courtyard. The manager, Achmal, made everything run smoothly for me, recommending the best restaurants and an excellent guide. Pros: Perfect location. I was there in January and the Old City was rather dead. But the off-season rate let me live in style for a super bargain price. Plus, negotiating for the classic handicrafts was probably a lot better.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in twin room! + Location is awesome. Just opposite Lyabi Hauz (pool). + So friendly and helpful staff + Comfortable beds and clean bathroom
Cons: - Breakfast could be better - Russian women living in the hotel sometimes made noise in early mornings!
7.5 Good
Pros: Best location .and good breakfast
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent. The rooms are comfortable and big. The breakfast is not bad. The staff is extremely helpful and very good
Cons: since it was the low season, parts of the hotel was being renovated and restored. But we saw how the decorations are painted by hand.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I suggest to add some shelve to one side of the wardrobe, it will be more pratical to store clothes. Otherwise everything was very good, thanks to the hotel crew for the nice welcome.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice property
9.2 Excellent
Pros: rooms were very spacious, good location, perfectly warmed, breakfast was also very good and staff very attentive and professional
Cons: -
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A good hotel in a very central location. All the major (and minor) sights are within easy walking distance and plenty of eating/drinking/shopping options almost immediately on the doorstep, but hotel itself retains a sense of quiet and tranquillity.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An excellent hotel, very convenient within walking distance to the famous sites in the old city. The owner Fatima is very helpful, friendly and hospitable. The bed is so comfortable. Highly recommended for those looking for a reasonably priced excellent hotel. There's even a Zayn Malik look a like ha ha. The male staff looks just like Zayn.
Cons: I love the hotel that's about it.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying at this hotel was an interesting experience. Charming old Madrasah was turned into a hotel with great location. Very close to main square. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was nice and diverse. Hotel felt homey and well maintained.
Cons: Beds were a bit hard and room layout was very basic but nicely decorated
6.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful architecture and decor. Convenience to major attractions. The day staff member nicknamed "Alex" was exceptionally enthusiastic in meeting my requests including providing all needed information and directions for me to buy the train ticket to Kniva. Individually served breakfast in the courtyard was a delight.
Cons: Sound proofing has much to be desired as the antique entrance door to the room could not be closed tightly to block the noises from the courtyard. The staff quality was uneven. The night staff member made significant noises outside my door one night around midnight while apparently partying with a friend visiting him at that time.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Spotlessly clean. Fantastic breakfast.
Cons: I think they 'overbook' so we had to stay somewhere else for our first night. Very disappointing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful old Madrassa in an excellent location. Walking around Bukhara is very easy from here! Comfortable room, a really nice courtyard to sit in, a delicious and plentiful breakfast, and five star service from the wonderful staff! Thank you for a great stay!
Cons: Water pressure is very weak in Room 2, but only a minor inconvenience at this great property

Pros: The hotel staffs were extremely helpful. My friend arrived sick they provided loads of help in looking for what we needed. The breakfast was great. I loved the courtyard which I spent sometime sitting there reading. Wonderful experience, can’t recommend more

7.0 Good
Pros: We were in Room 30, new wing of the hotel. The room and bathroom felt very new and we really liked that. The floors are heated which was great. Breakfast is buffet except when they don't have many rooms occupied. They will make you eggs.
Cons: The street the hotel is on is doing major construction. It is literally a dug up street that changes every day. There were really big holes there. At night it is dark and you need a flashlight. Both times we asked for a taxi service, they use someone they know and the changes are on the high side. For example, a 20 minute ride to the train station cost a 60000 som. WiFi is spotty. Most mornings it didn't work. A couple of times, there was no hot water.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great...an easy walk to the heart of the old town. The team was amazingly friendly and helped us with a number of requests...always with a smile on their face. I loved the decor of the place. It was really cool, unique and inviting atmosphere.
Cons: Not much to complain about.

Pros: Komil was so helpful, arranging cars, giving local advice. Decoration amazing, even the new bits are in keeping with the old
Cons: Poor WiFi
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All was perfect, the staff really care about your stay, pleasant and efficient. The breakfast is super and the edifice very beautiful.
Cons: Nothing really. There are works going on, so I bet that the small area among the separate wings will be improved in the future.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating. We always felt very welcomed. Hotel is clean and tidy, yummy breakfast in a stunning room. The owner always took good care of us.
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff was nice and the breakfast was good. There was floor heating , good location in the city.
Cons: Price quality was not good: too expensive. The coffee was not tasty . The walls were damaged. Could’ve make better
7.9 Good
Pros: Hotel itself had a great vibe with outdoor parts and restaurant. Rooms were large and beds comfortable but not the most comfortable I’ve had in Central Asia. Staff was super nice and accommodating, helping with bags, keys, calling taxi, bringing what we needed for breakfast, etc.
Cons: The door keys didn’t fit or work well. The internet was really bad in my room.

7.0 Good
Pros: It has a perfect location close to major sightseeing attractions. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast was very good. Light and water were available all time.
Cons: Rooms are the type of a motel, having the entrance and a window on one site. Heating system (water pipes) was weird as it was producing "cracking" sounds all night, so we could not sleep. The walls seem to be very thin as we were hearing every word from our neighbors.
7.0 Good
Pros: very good location downtown
Cons: thete is no elevstor ... the guest has to carry own laggage upstairs
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed there several time. Staff is great. Breakfast is good. Sheets are clean and water is hot! Great location even if you drive.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, great staff and good atmosphere. Very good value
4.0 Okay
Pros: the location was fabulous the hot water pressure was great liked the electric kettle in the room the wifi worked correctly
Cons: the breakfast was buffet style and the fruit was rotten (you could stick your finger into the apples), the bread stale and same food was brought out day after day. The cheese has curled edges, the cold cuts were dried up- it was underwhelming- the coffee was undrinkable. the beds were lumpy communication with the staff was awful
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything is very good.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The food in the hotel was beyond excellent. Freshly cooked each morning by a woman of great talent.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed Very good location Flexible check-in time Good heating in December
Cons: There is no soundproofing/ sound insulation. Staff / owners live in the same guest house. They were kindly asking me if I need to go to the railway station. I understand this is part of their business but you can find a taxi in the old town and you pay 15000 SUM and the hotel staff were asking 50000 SUM. Also, they asked me to go on a sightseeing tour but such a tour is cheaper if you organize it with a local taxi driver rather than pay 15$ for a short tour.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The breakfast was fabulous....they served us a lot of items....though on second day they did not give us any juice or drink for breakfast....the owner and other members of his family are cordial & friendly....they were very sincere to most of our problems....The best thing about this hotel is it's near to all the major atrractions & restaurants....Great minerat,Ark of Bukhara & Liyab e Haus everything's just 20-30min of walk from this hotel...the wifi is good...toilet has hot water...the room's airconditioning is fine
Cons: The hotel is under maintenance....u will hear sound of drilling & noise all day long....the the downstairs and the reception lobby are a complete mess....there is dirt everywhere....also the roof is nowhere near the pictures shown in the website....we booked the hotel being amazed by it's decorations shown in the photos of booking.com so that we could take good pictures and also enjoy traditional uzbek decorations.....We were very disappointed by the overall appearance....Also the owner will take full payment for ur stay even though u'll be deceived by the photos on the site....the owner is a nice guy to talk to but don't listen to his offers always...he took us to a restaurant near Chor Bakr saying it was a cheap one....but it turned out to be the most expensive place we ate....170,000UZS for three persons for lunch...almost thrice the usual price...there's a place near the hotel called 'Chinar' where u can have a very decent meal for 20-30000UZS per person....as we were leaving he demanded 6000UZS for two water bottles that we bought from him but we knew very well they cost 4000UZS...Fearing his attitude we dared not ask him for a drop off to the railway station because somewhere i read he demands 40,000UZS for a single drop off!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very central location in Bukhara and very friendly and owned by a very friendly and helpful family. Traditional Uzbek house with beautiful courtyard and decoration. Was able to get some laundry done no problem which was a real bonus. Breakfast was also very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location close to old city - walking distance Great breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean hotel
Cons: In narrow street
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Good Location.
Cons: They where renovating when we stayed there but we still paid full price.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All except extra charge for dinner and expensive rental car
Cons: Owner charge me for dinner but he didn't tell us before I must pay and expensive for rental car
6.0 Good
Pros: I have liked the kindness of the owner and his readiness to solve issues once we told him. It is a family owned place, and you can tell that they care for our opinion. The breakfast was quite fresh with home made omlet and blinis. Location was super close to Lyabi Havuz, so it was great. Price was alright too. Decoration was really nice in Uzbek old style, and it should be even better after the end of the repairs.
Cons: The hotel was under renovation partly (the ground in the courtyard by the entrance), and the narrow street leading to the hotel was full of construction (which per se is not a problem, but makes it quasi impossible to drive there, at least not these days we were there). The door was not well insulated, so in case of noise in the courtyard, it might be disturbing if you have a light sleep (in my case). The water pressure was really low, but the owner told me that it is linked to the fact that the season starts in March only and that the tank of water is not yet active.
