6.8 Good
Pros: The breakfasts were truly great: meat, cheese, home-made jams, and every day Marylin cooked something extra, with lots of phantasy. In France, the breakfasts are normally smaller, so this was a lovely surprise. The bed was good, I slept very well (my husband however complained a bit). Wi-fi worked all the time. Air conditioning worked well, and was very handy since the days were hot. I loved the attention to small details. When we returned on a hot day, the air con was turned on for us, exactly the right temperature. It was wonderful. The rooms are very clean. They are done every day. Hossegor and the lake are close. There is a nice fair on Sundays.
Cons: I really hesitate to write negative things when it is so evident that the owner puts a lot of love and effort into the place. Sorry. :( Unfortunately it didn’t work well for us. The information on booking.com was misleading. We were travelling from Spain, arrived the last (but on time) and perhaps because of this got the smallest room (?). The booking.com stated that the room was 25 sq.m. Well, it is definitely not, even if you count with the open plan shower and WC. It reminded me of London hotels. It was unfortunate of course that we came directly from an agriturismo where for the same price we had an 80 sq.m appartment... I’ve heard that other rooms are bigger, well, maybe this could be somehow indicated at booking.com, and the price deducted accordingly. Also, the design of the room is somewhat weird. The shower doesn’t have a door: you can see someone taking a shower from the room and afterwards you can smell the damp a bit. Also, our room’s windows faced the parking (though it was not big). I see that many people are very happy with the place. Well, if you are keen on visiting Hossegor, this may be a very good option, since it looks that other B&Bs are about the same price, but if, like us, you prefer more farmlike establishments and bigger appartments, and just want to roam around the French countryside, then I would go somewhere else.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I liked really everything. Lovely property, spacious and clean room with an awesome shower. Excellent breakfast with home made food. Very friendly and welcoming owner.
Cons: Coffee in the morning is a bit weak but I know it will soon change. However, I had a Nespresso machine in my room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable stay - spotless accommodation and a great breakfast with homemade, bio products. Hosts were very friendly and informative. A real pleasure of a stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great host! the breakfast is excellent and the rooms are spacious and clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is extremely welcoming and helpful. She is a very kind and chic french woman and she takes pleasure in what she is doimg. The rooms are very clean, the breakfast is amazing and the free prking place and free bikes are a big plus.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Breakfast was amazing, every time we finished our breakfast we were already excited about the following morning! The rooms are very clean and spacious! Internet was fast and a delight to use. Not to forget the host, she really knew how to make everyone feel at home and really made the stay enjoyable! Will definitely be coming back!! Lots of love Benji and Alice.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Marlyn was super lovely and went out of her way to make us feel like home. Always smiley, willing to help and just all round friendly.
Cons: The location was a bit out of the way so a car is definitely needed to get around.
Hotel & Spa Villa Seren - Hossegor - Building

9.5 Excellent (209 reviews)

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious and super clean - Bluetooth speaker in the bathroom and choice of pillows excellent! Bed was extra comfy, terrace spacious Restaurant / bar excellent, tapas (mostly regional - therefor big thumps-up) were good, also the choices of wine and not overpriced. Breakfast had almost only regional products and organic products - loved that very much!! View from the terrace perfect and thanks to the plants not too exposed to the passing people at the lake. Treatment packages a good deal at the spa! Lovely staff,
Cons: “Spa” is a little exaggerated, we were expecting a little more for having it in the titel of the hotel. No lounging area except for the outside deck chairs around the pool. Breakfast a bit pricy for the choices, it’s quality though is good. Typical French pastries could be a little better. Scrambled eggs had a funny texture. English speaking capacities of the staff could be upgraded.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service. Upgraded to fantastic room. Very comfortable. Amazing customer service. Lovely tapas dining and good wine!
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. The room's view are amazing, super comfortable bed and pillows. The staff are super kind and efficient. We travelled with our 5 months baby, they organized the baby bed and other facilities.

Pros: Lovely setting with good views over the lake. Friendly staff and good relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant.t
10.0 Excellent
Pros: fantastic location, amazing rooms, friendly polite staff, great margaritas and breakfast - had a facial in the spa which was fab, highly recommend
Cons: nothing at all
5.8 Okay
Pros: The hotel is really nice, beautiful architecture, decor & atmosphere was very fresh with a cool beach vibe. The room was good size, power shower with Bluetooth speakers, we stayed at the upper level with a nice balcony view overlooking the lake, the bed was comfortable & the room was very clean which I’m very specific about it. The location is also good although u might need a car to drive to the beach is very close to the center and super convenient to go out for dinners etc.. it’s is also nice to go for a walk along the path way at the hotel front by the lake. The hotel balcony deck is lovely for afternoon drinks and to watch sunset.
Cons: To be honest the restaurant staff was VERY rude, In fact was shocked by their poor customer service, lack of tact talking to the guests, it’s almost like they get very annoyed at you to have to speak English... They have a bit of training to do in order to improve this area for a 4x star hotel. I don’t want generalise all team but 2pp in particular were pretty bad, the others were okay (might email the hotel separate abt this experience). On the other hand the reception staff were stars, very friendly & good customer service from check in throughout all stay till check out. Upon make a booking make sure your rate includes the pool otherwise if you wish to use they charge extra 25 euros per day, It wasn’t our case but I can see some guests would be disappointed if they missed this point when booking. The pool wasn’t heated so I it could slightly warmer considering it was a little cold although sunny. The experience was still good and hossegor is a beautiful coastal city.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was extremely comfortable with a great view of the lake. The breakfast was excellent as were the spa and pool facilities, although these came at an extra cost but well worth paying extra for.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was amazing. Beautiful view, a perfect bed. This is the second time we are back at this hotel.
Cons: We found out we now need to pay to use the swimming pool which is unacceptable considering the price we already pay for a stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, all spoke French and English. Exceptional Breakfast provided. Bedroom was very good with great amenities especially the coffee!
Cons: Dinner menu limited to Tapas but ample.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff is exceptionally kind. The hotel has a quiet zen feeling. Many people would enjoy the spa, swimming pool, lakeside location. We were pleased with the secure and fairly spacious garage.
Cons: Other than the one seriously gourmet restaurant a mile or so away, the restaurant scene is pretty mediocre. This is a town with hundreds of shops selling beachware, dozens and dozens of roundabouts, fairly nice residential areas, and of course a lovely beach. But there are plenty of lovely beaches in France and Italy. My impression is this is a good place for millenials and perhaps families for a vacation home. There is not that much to bring us back. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, which is a downside. The breakfast service and wine bar service are fine.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a amazing B&B - it felt more like being welcomed into a friend's home. Beautiful house and peaceful gardens - we loved it so much and was one of the highlights for our 3 week cycle trip in France. Such a warm welcome from Craig and what a fantastic little peace of heaven himself and Juan have created. Right on the Velodysee route and a few hundred meters from the beach with a great beach bar for sundown drinks & pizza. Can't thank you enough for such a wonderful one night stay, and please do pass on our thanks to the young guy who checked us in, and the lovely young lady who made the delicious breakfast (sorry I am terrible at remembering names!). We wish you all the best.
Cons: Loved it all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect place to stay if you are cycling La Velodyssey. It is about 100 m from the route going into Capbreton. I have never stayed in more luxurious mixed shared dorms. It was like being in a luxury villa with friends rather a B&B or a hostel. Take time to visit Capbreton rather than just pass through. Excellent management and staff.
Cons: Nothing. I stayed another night as I was so impressed and welcomed.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Nice hotel in the centre of Bidart. Clean, comfortable, nice balcony off the room and friendly staff
Cons: There was no information about prices. We thought breakfast was included so was shocked to find they charged €14 per person for a cup of tea or coffee, a small glass of orange juice and a selection of bread!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed over New Year's Eve and had a wonderful time! Friendly and helpful owner and staff, elegant yet warm atmosphere. We loved every minute! Quiet rooms · Helpful concierge · Romantic atmosphere · Great hotel bar · Historic building
Cons: There was nothing we did not like. We were wondering how the hotel would feel in Winter, as it is a beach location, but the heating and isolation worked fine, and we were warm and comfortable
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner was incredibly friendly. I had to call her because we got stuck in a traffic jam and therefore would arrive very late. She was waiting for us when we arrived and showed us the room. The room is just what you need and the shower is probably the best shower I’ve been in. The town is 100 meters from the hotel and is picturesque and calm.

Pros: Location , friendliness , facilities for self catering .
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The hosts are so welcoming and the facilities are awesome. Very hood morning breakfast and the coffee that's available all day is tasty as!
Cons: Location is great although when it says it's on the beach it's not really it's a 10-15min walk.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean & tidy with a huge bed. There was a fan in the room which helped with the heat & wasn’t too loud when sleeping. Bathroom although seperate to the room & shared was very clean & shower was amazing - very spacious & great pressure (with jets & a huge shower head). Never had any issues with others using the bathroom when we needed to, the place was nice & quiet. Owners were very friendly & helped us out with the best places to visit & other travelling advice. Overall I would highly recommend staying here. We had a very pleasant stay at the lodge - there was a nice serene feel and wouldn’t hesitate to go back
Cons: Not an issue for us at all but location may be a problem for people without a car. The lodge is just out of town on a quiet suburban street but I’m sure public transport (buses/taxi) would be cheap enough to get you there.

Le Surf Spot - Capbreton - Bedroom
9
9.2 Excellent (106 reviews)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were great, Rob and Morgan are ripper blokes. Good chilled vibe and good surf knowledge. Boards and surf gear free to use is a big tick. Full kitchen and good storage space for food.
Cons: One of the more expensive hostels I’ve stayed at but they do provide a perfect place for a surf holiday. Only downfall with location is that it’s a decent walk in to Hossegor where the better waves and nightlife is.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Extremely charming place and Robert were most helpful, he even let you borrow his surfboards. Beach is just round the corner and it´s a great place for both beginners and experienced surfers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rob made me feel right at home and was extremely friendly and helpful. The location is lovely and central the beach of Capbreton. Would recommend
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location one block from the beach and boardwalk restaurants! Cute bungalow type house with really nice homey feel. The owners were very nice! I only got to spend one night but it really seems like a place you could call a temporary home for much longer. Rent a bike Ted’s Surf School around the corner. It’s such a great way to get around. It was recommended by the owners and now I can say I also highly recommend it. All in all nice vibe and would return again!
Cons: Great place! Loved it, this doesn’t affect my review at all. Only a friendly suggestion that lockers would be nice. It’s such a cute, safe area but still I felt uncomfortable leaving my valuables all day long as no one knows for sure that none of the other guests won’t run off with something. Didn’t happen! Everything was great. Just a thought.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff, super friendly!
Cons: If I had to invest something as the owner of the hostel, I would probably change the mattresses
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendliest community I've come across. Nothing but good vibes and relaxation. Rob is an absolutely fantastic host. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I highly recommend Le Surf Spot it feels like home and the owners Rob and Jo went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and part of the family. The hostel is a stones throw from the beach and the hardest decision of each day is deciding which surfboard or skateboard to take, there is a good selection of both. If I am back in France I will definitely be staying here again :)
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lydia and Isak were the hosts with the most! We had an incredible week! The location is ideal for surfing and going to see the WSL competition. Fully equipped kitchen/living area and plenty of great facilities and WiFi. Super clean and comfortable beds and no issues with leaving your stuff around the place, very safe. Can’t recommend the place enough but mostly for the people! Anyone who stayed tried to extend their visit and those who couldn’t always come back in the evening for a drink or a cup of tea. Lydia and Isak even surprised us with champagne to celebrate our engagement. A home from home and we can’t wait to come back next year.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing Hostel, awesome location and great Atmosphere! Lydia is super friendly and Isak is very helpful as well, if you want to know anything about the French wildlife, you can ask him, he will tell you which animals are dangerous.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: This a really high-class hotel. Certainly four-star, I might even say five ... Lovely facilities, stylish, impeccably clean and comfortable with staff who are endlessly helpful. Wonderfully comfortable bed and a tranquil night's sleep. Flawless wifi. Delicious buffet breakfast. Not the cheapest hotel in town but at the price I paid, it was worth every euro. And a summer evening eating by the banks of the river Nive - in the old part of Bayonne - was memorable. Just one snag: that's not where the Okko hotel is located ...
Cons: I chose the Okko thinking it was next to Bayonne's old town. My mistake. It's not. While Bayonne's old quarter is charming, most of the city now is modern - largely 20th century so far as I could see. And the Okko is in the modern part, right next to a busy roundabout leading on to one of the main bridges. Its 9th floor club room is brilliant as a place to relax and eat your gourmet (and gourmand) breakfast, overlooking the fine river Adour. But what you see, along the river banks, is a vista of modern villas, commercial premises and (further off) industrial units. Maybe if you just arrive and leave by car, this wouldn't matter. But for me, really keen to wander into the old town on foot and wander back again, it was disappointing to find that I had a 15 minute walk along boring modern streets before getting to the old quarter.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Food selection at breakfast was amazing. Drinks & snacks available at all times and the evening apertivo was great. Really good movie selection too!
Cons: The bathroom door was ridiculous. Style over substance. Couldn’t close it properly.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great view Cool design Good breakfast Free parking on the street
Cons: Rationality lost against design (Fancy but useless interior concepts) - Bathroom door can not be closed from inside by design - Too small tables in the breakfast area
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Kind of an impersonal treatment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, good breakfast, fantastic evening buffet.
Cons: I liked everything.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Buffet style, walking breakfast and Food during whole is very Nice. And cost atmosphere
Hotel Du Palais Biarritz - Biarritz - Building

9.0 Excellent (820 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A living memory of Biarritz history, theVilla Eugenie, now Hotel du Palais, was built in 1855 by Napoleon III for his wife Eugenie de Montijo, now among the most famous historical resort in France.
6.3 Good
Cons: Tatty old rooms with a strange odour, broken A/C, exorbitant price which filled us full of hope that we would receive extreme luxurious treatment only to be sorely disappointed. Ordered late room service and had to reject every item due to poor quality. After being told we could entertain guests anywhere in the hotel the pool attendant handed me a bill for €EUR450 for the visitors who came and sat with us for an hour by the pool even after us spending €EUR300 on drinks!!! Which I promptly refused to pay. After very little sleep I tried to complain and received a small discount on the bill, but 1 night still came to €1,800!! There is no way this hotel is deserved to charge that kind of money for the return in property standards and service. I will be taking this up further with the hotel an Hyatt group.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were world class, best service ever!!!
Cons: Nothing!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel, beautifully positioned with elegant interiors and very attentive staff. I could not fault the hotel
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location and elegance
Cons: The Hotel decor is dated and needs to be refreshed. We don’t approve of having dogs in hotels and particularly so when they bark in public areas and bedroom floors
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast. Smoked salmon was highest class and croissants were very tasty. Superb view from our balcony
Cons: I was disappointed by very late swimming pool opening hours. I always like to have a swim before my breakfast and pool is open here just 0930! Latest time since I am traveling long years!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Cocktail Bar atmosphere with singing. Restaurant food, décor and atmosphere. Room views over the bay. Gardens and pool area.
Cons: One waiter on the terrace in the afternoon/early evening when busy was not enough. She did an excellent job but needed help to give the expected levels of service (cleaning tables when people leave)...NOT a criticism of her at all.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location and services were excellent. Very dog friendly and facilities were extremely clean.
Cons: Was surprised to be disappointed with the quality of the room service coffee when everything else we consumed was of very high quality.
6.2 Good
Pros: location and view from dining room
Cons: place is showing its age, and its cost for rooms and meals are far too high. breakfast for 1 person was 50 euro, about $60 USD. the ocean view room i reserved from kayak was $550, and the only view of the water was from a side window; you had to right up next to the window to even see the water or beach. when i complained, they said that since you can see the water from the window, it qualifies as ocean view. we got misled from the check in girl as to when our room would be ready, and got fast double talk as to what happened. there also appears to be some wiggle room between what we learned about the room from kayak and what the hotel provided. kind of a bait and switch. we won't be back.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is perfect, the views are magnificent
Cons: The building is outdated, needs renovation badly, the inside pool was cold
8.0 Excellent
Pros: New room of the same category was excellent but the first one (I booked deluxe room with partial ocean view) was given to me has inner yard view with a bad smoking smell. However, new room was 365 Euro more expensive per night.
Cons: Some staff attitude at the check-in
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: It’s tired and needs to be refurbished. Too expensive for what’s in offer.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, lovely grounds , stayed in the lodge , perfect for us traveling with two dogs Staff very welcoming and helpful
Cons: Minor thing it would have been nice to have complimentary tea and coffee in the room. We had to leave early in the morning and would have liked a cuppa before we left
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The attention of the hotel was excellent. Ester in particular was tremendously helpful in helping plan our days with tip top recommendations. The facilities are absolutely charming.
Cons: The breakfast was a bit underwhelming in quality and options. They music selection in the common areas was a bit limited, i.e. bossa nova on an endless loop.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the location and hotel staff
Cons: An AC wasn’t there but a ventilation, however I do think that with an AC it’s easier to regulate. Also I’d appreciate if you have a more towels. Except that it was an amazing experience and I’ll be back for sure.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Chateau is a beautiful house set in its own grounds with stunning views over the mountains from the pool. As a place to stay it is so relaxing.

9.3 Excellent

Cons: At breakfast the coffee was cold.

Pros: Great swimming pool spot
Cons: Lack a few things in the room such as coffee machine, bathrobes..

6.8 Good
Pros: The location is good. The beds are comfortable
Cons: The dogs in the dining room. The flies in the dining room. The broken tiles in the dining room. The scrambled eggs in the dining room. Mirrors in the lift were broken. The sink in the bedroom was cracked. There are 74 bedrooms and 54 parking spaces. The menu has been reduced to 4 or 5 main meals. The room I stayed in was 30 euros dearer than the same time last year. I have been told that the hotel has new owners since my last visit! In view of some of the previous comments I doubt things will improve
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location on the beach, comfortable room and nice terrace with ocean view
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Ultra modern, hyper clean, directly on the beach/promenade, outstanding views, great bar and restaurant, beautiful room. Multilingual staff were very friendly and efficient. A short drive to the excellent shops in Hossegor and Cap Breton.
Cons: Minor issue was with flies entering the bar in the evening and breakfast area in the morning - can easily be resolved with appropriate measures.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Easy to locate. Pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent position for beach. Restaurant and bar both on the beach side of hotel with very pleasant ambience. Breakfast typical French continental breakfast offerings - had better, had worse (my husband had the scrambled eggs and had 2 coffees to kill the taste). Rooms a reasonable size and very clean. Parking is either in the open and free or under the hotel, which costs €5/10 p.d. depending on the season. Having private parking is wonderful as you would be parking a long, long way away as the beach is very popular.
Cons: Internet never worked well. After reading glowing reports of rooms with sea view, we spent a lot more than our normal budget on one. It would be fair to say the room had about a quarter of the sea view but with excellent views of the surf shop opposite and also of the disabled car park. The rooms with full sea views are ‘ in a different category’. We were very disappointed and, quite frankly for me it took the shine off the whole place but it is the high season and naturally hotels charge at much higher rates in Summer. Don’t bother paying extra for the sea view, especially in the high season and spend the money in their restaurant or the Italian restaurant almost next to the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Balcony’ space, restaurant, bar, terrace
Cons: Bath not safe to go in and out’ it needs handles
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastically situated hotel right on the beach. Large rooms with good facilities.
Cons: Food in the restaurant was fairly average given highly rated chef. My Cote de Boeuf was not great, but to be fair the waiter apologised and the item was removed from the bill. This typified the great service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff superb, extremely accommodating !
Cons: Nothing!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was high class, the hotel staff seemed very nice, professional, and proactive
Cons: It s a shame that a steam bath does not belong to this hotel s facilities..
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Original seaside style. Late checkout so you can spend the morning at the beach, afterwards we were allowed to leave the car at private parking til late afternoon.
Cons: Breakfast was a bit loveless.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great cocktail bar. Spacious room. Staff was extremely gently, always smiling.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is ideally situate. The decoration and the building is full of charm
Cons: The bathroom in both bedrooms were not really clean. There was lots of long black hair on the balcony which needed a good clean.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved the old world charm, especially the gramophone playing softly in the lobby
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good area; very close to most things
Cons: staff didn't speak ANY english which made asking questions difficult
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful mansion style hotel in good condition, with great city center location, only two minutes from the local food market in the restaurant and shop packed ”Les Halles area” of Biarritz. Five more minutes walk and you’re at the Grande Plage. We took a swim and hung out at the beach every day, and the hotel felt close enough for us to quickly return to when we wanted to take a shower and change clothes afterwards. It’s not a seaside location, but it is close. The friendly staff here greets you with big smiles every morning. They are really nice and service minded! The room was very clean, and though it was a bit stripped down in terms of decoration it had everything you could want in terms of space, nice bathroom, comfy bed, big wardrobe and a good refrigerator (wich came in handy, since that food market tempted us to buy delicious cheese, butter, croissants and all sorts of fruit most every day). Last but not least, the Maison has a nice little secluded garden with beautiful flowers, trees and that ivy, wich gave the mansion it’s name (Lierre), clinging to the walls. The setting is complete with a little water fountain and generous seating for both catching a bit of sun or to sit down and have a bite to eat. I will definately return here. We really enjoyed it.
Cons: Close the windows at night or you will get mosquitoe bites for sure. No biggie though. The ceiling mounted fan will keep the room nice and cool.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: La Maison du Lierre is perfectly positioned to reach all the best parts of Biarritz, whether it's for shopping, eating or the beaches. We met two members of staff (maybe family of the owners), both were very welcoming, friendly, efficient and spoke English well. They did everything to make our stay comfortable. We had a first floor room. The bathroom and shower worked well, as did the wifi. The hotel is run on environmentally friendly principles, all of which are outlined in the room's info folder. We would be happy to return here and to recommend it to other travellers.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great customer service, very clean and modern facilities in a beautiful old building. Breakfast is good. Location was really good for both sightseeing, beaches, markets, buses etc.
Cons: Air conditioning rather than the ceiling fan would be better for hot weather. 3.30 check-in was quite late if arriving to Biarritz early in the morning.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Welcome atmosphere
Cons: Occasional noise from other room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located in the centre of the old part of Biarritz, near a nice park and in walking distance to many restaurants and bars, the beach etc. The staff was very nice and friendly, very helpful and also spoke good English. The building is a beautiful old house which has been tastefully decorated and modernised and has a nice garden/patio. Our room (standard category) was nice and clean, the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was functional and clean. You can book a parking space in a carpark nearby (just 1 minute down the street) for 14 EUR per day.
Cons: In the morning it was a bit noisy with banging and squeaking doors (maybe some oil would help for the latter) - but I guess that is the case in many hotels and earplugs do help. The rooms wasn't exactly big and had only one chair. For the rather high price (170 EUR) one would expect at least a second chair or an included breakfast - but maybe that's just what prices are like in Biarritz in the summer...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house and rooms and nice steff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice location

Cons: Possible, late evening noise from local bars?
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and parking free
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Location, comfort, food in the restaurant all amazing. It is in the hub of cafes, accommodation , bars etc and has a bit of street noise at night, but we expected that and prepared to tolerate it.. just get amongst the atmosphere. Great place, deserves more than a two star rating. We give it a 4..
Cons: There was nothing We didn't like

Cons: Hotel didn't pick up phone on arrival even know it was during busy hours.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location just a few minutes walk from the main beach. Clean decent sized room, comfy bed, very clean & well equipped bathroom. The restaurant that is part of the hotel is excellent.
Cons: A bit of noise came through in the early hours as kids were going home from the nightclubs but not too bad, and to be expected in the centre of a lively seaside town like Hossegor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel in an amazing location with friendly staff.

Hôtel Harretchea - Ahetze - Building

8.9 Excellent (186 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Ahetze, Hôtel Harretchea is in a rural location, within a 10-minute drive of Bidart Beaches and Bid'a Parc. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel looks very cosy, is very clean, nicely decorated. It has a nice terrace and a nice garden. Free public parking at 50m from the hotel. The staff at the reception was very nice. It is conveniently located if you come by car (short drive to Biarritz and 45min to San Sebastian). The restaurant across the street is very good.
Cons: The wifi did not always work properly. One of the rooms was in the attic, with a rather low ceiling on one side of the room, which made it difficult to move around (I hit my head on the ceiling several times, when I was forgetting I have to walk bent around my side of the bed). Beds could be a bit larger. At check out, the owner told us we make noise when we pulled our trolleys to the car, at 10 am (around 5 meters; plane cabin trolleys). All the other staff was very nice and polite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is real French style home hotel with charming and friendly owner. The room was clean, with new furniture and bathroom equipment. There was enough space for parking on the hotel's territory, which was very important to us, as we travelled by car. Bidart and Biarritz beaches were not far away, just few kilometers from the hotel, which was very convenient if you travel by car. Owner's cat sometimes was seen on the hotel territory, which was appreciated by all cat lovers =)
Cons: No air conditioning in the room, only fan. It was tough in evening hours, when we needed some cool air after a sunny day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was first class, relaxing atmosphere, beautifully appointed rooms. Breakfast great selection. Spa available if needed. Overall fantastic.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Bright airy room, beautifully decorated. The bathroom was spacious with shower and bath. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Lovely staff! Ideal location if you have a car for day trips.
Cons: Missed the cheese on the breakfast buffet. I felt bad having to ask for it!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location in lovely French village. Owner and staff great. Having breakfast in the garden was particularly special.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is cute and owners are nice. Parking was practical. The pool and the garden looked really nice but the weather conditions didn't permit me to enjoy it.
Cons: I stayed several days and was given a room on the ground floor that was very small and had a strong smell of dampness. The window was actually opened when I checked in. I believe it had not been used of a while. Despite the cold weather, I had to open the window to breath fresh air every time I was back in the room. The price was too high for that particular room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous hosts, great breakfasts with all local produce, lovely furnishings and everything immaculately cared for.Nothing was too much trouble and led to a brilliant four night stay for us.
Cons: The weather!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was lovely & room comfortable
Cons: Tea & coffee in room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our privilege room had a terrace and a view of the swimming pool. There were plenty of sun beds. The bed was comfortable and the fittings all worked. Breakfast was continental and featured homemade jams.
Cons: There were no restaurants open in the village on a Tuesday in September.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The garden room was lovely, with a terrasse overlooking the swimming pool. Breakfasts were excellent, with homemade jam, fruit and a good jambon de pays.
6.8 Good
Pros: Quiet. Private
Cons: Breakfast fairly basic but expensive. Staff friendly but maybe could be a little more attentive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location fine, breakfast excellent. The rooms were excellent and the proprietors were very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: All the facilities were excellent.
6.3 Good
Pros: There is a very convenient parking, and a heated pool which is supposedly great.
Cons: The room we had was TINY for the price we paid, we almost couldn’t fit in the bed so don’t think of booking their standard room if you’re 1.80m or more. The other rooms are more spacious for like 20€ more per night, and those rooms are probably worth their price, but the one we had was way too overpriced. We were supposed to have a garden view, I’ll let you decide by yourself trough the picture if this is what you call a garden. We were pissed about the price charged so we looked at the reviews to see if it was just us. It wasn’t. When we checked the answers from the owner, he seemed to complain that people didn’t tell him directly was had gone wrong, so we decided to talk to him face to face politely : it didn’t change a thing, judge by yourself in his comments to see if he seems open to suggestions. He said all the rooms in the region were priced like this, we told him it wasn’t the price that was the problem but the size of the room offered for it. We toured the region and spent like 6 days in 6 different hotels, so I think we had a pretty good knowledge of what the prices are in the region, at this period of the year. I dont comment to ruin the reviews of the hotel, most of our comments are positive/great. This experience wasn’t. If it had cost like 70-80€/night, I would have given a 8,5/10 so this review is not to say the « hotel » is bad, just that their standard room is not worth the price you’re charged for it (tiny bathroom, tiny room, tiny bed, view on the parking, for 109€/night).
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff and garden where nice
Cons: Value for money. Cost should include breakfast. To add €22 for two limited breakfasts is a bit much. You would like ham or cheese, add €3 for each per person. Too much

Cons: Coffe was not so good but breakfest was very good. I liked much hotel Windsor. I think the hotel is designed a little bit for scandinavian taste. Hotel's situation is just to the Grand Plage. Biarrits is very walkable. Town is wery well "made for visitors"! You could spent a good holiday at Biarritz.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and view
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, high standards of hygiene and very friendly staff
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, right on the main beach. Nice and clean. Helpful staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were here welcoming and helpful. We also loved the breakfast , lots of great choices.
4.5 Okay
Cons: The room has about 9 sqm ² , Room 303 with sea View , Price 280 € /night. The room is a little larger than the bed. The architect was so clever to do a glass shower in the middle of the room to make it look larger. Also washing place without privacy, who the f.. has designed that ? I have jugded about 100 hotels in the last years via booking ( mostly 5 stars) , but this place has by far the biggest price gap between standards and prices . You just feel cheated when staying there . So no recommendation at all .
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is really nice! Close to everything in Biarritz, it takes you 2 minutes to get to the beach and up to 10 minutes to go for good cafes and restaurants! The staff is nice and helpful! And breakfasts were very good as well! Highly recommended :)
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Highly recommended. Very helpful and friendly services. Optimal location near to beach and city centre. Brilliant and delicious breakfast.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and attractive hotel from the inside. Lovely light room with view over the ocean. Excellent aircon much needed in the intense heat outside. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: From the ocean side, the outside of the hotel looks dubious. Don't be put off, however, as when you enter it is clear that much investment has been made in the hotel. From the town side it is an attractive building.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location! Also, nicely renovated and well functioning air conditioning
