The staff where very friendly, unfortunately the season hadnt started and it was a bit quiet. Most of the facilities where not available at the time of our stay, however the hotel itself and the staff where excellent.
The beautiful Sicilian women working the front desk. Small rooms.
Very close to the beachside. Good food locations nearby. Staff incredibly friendly, helped us out a few times
Friendly, helpful staff. Cleanliness, private beach (facilities not included in price), non expensive pizzeria The location. The hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere, very far from shops, amenities, port, etc. One should hire a car or use a taxi. Set menu for dinner - very little portions and not worth the money, I preferred having a pizza instead!
outside restaurant was fab and staff very helpfull with train info
good restaurant, good parking facilities, nice pool. location not convenient for alternate dining choices. room not prepared for us (reservation for two, room supplied for one).
Friendly and generous staff. Difficult to find good restaurants around but the best to continue my trip on ferry,it's just 100 meters away from the port. Poor surroundings,no restaurant at all. Taxi from train station ripped me off with 20 €. because if by bus, I got to walk with heavy luggage.
The manager, Saverio, was absolutely excellent (and speaks very good English). Nothing was too hard and always helpful. The breakfast was one of the best we've had in 6 weeks. Room was spacious and very clean. A little tricky to find, but our Tom Tom did well. Free parking is outside the hotel and sometimes it was difficult to get one but we always managed.
The staff was multi-lingual, very friendly and professional. The hotel was clean and comfortable. It was also close to the start of the promenade that went alongside the water. The breakfast in the morning was very good. We liked this hotel so much that we have since stayed at it again.
I answered to this question in in question 1 :) No
close to harbour not enough info from desk re bus numbers, timetables of museums etc
convenient to the port in Reggio Calabria the staff spoke no English
The room was very roomy with a large bathroom and clean. The staff were very helpful. No internet access. Not in a very nice area.
the rooms were spacious and it was within walking distance to the station and ferry the shower wasn't attached to the wall and wobbled when being used. It also took some time for the hot water to come through. The receptionist did't seem to know much English and couldn't give specific directions on where to find things in town.
The room itself was great
Room with large terrace (6th floor), location is close to train and bus station and to city center too. Good breakfast. It's not 4 stars hotel at all. Rooms needs renovation. WiFi is unreally expansive.
The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. However, they were trying to provide a good service with totally inadequate facilities. This was posted as a 4 star hotel. It may have been so in the 1960s but it appeared that there had been minimal or no investment for many years. So the whole place looked tired (or rather exhausted). Frayed carpets, cigarette burns in furniture etc etc.
clean hotel in the neigbourhoodof harbor and railwaystation to the railway station
It is very close to the central station. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, you feel that you are in a luxury hotel. The view is fantastic from the balconz of the hotel.
Perfect location in the city for my purpose. Well organised and good quality/price ratio.
Close to train station and ferry port. Room is never cleaned! Floor is so dirty ,just check your slippers everyday! The pillows are damp and smelly. No heater and surroundings is so filthy. The air is filled with dust everywhere!
.Our room was spacious and comfortable. and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was large and well equipped..The restaurant staff were very helpful in advising on local specialities and wines. The Reception staf were pleasant and happy to suply directions. And the location was excellent.for us ,train travellers! nothing really. we would stay there again..I was somewhat surprised about the negative reviews on your website as the hotel met our expectations.
The location of the hotel is excellent for the ferry to Italy, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent.
Location is perfect. There is no drive up space to unload your car; none. Only seasoned travelers should select this one.
The view from the room The WiFi did not work in the room
Well appointed rooms and a very good restaurant on the top floor overlooking the straits of Messina. The atmosphere is that of a typical business or conference hotel, there were two conferences going on while we were there. Parking a car on the streets around the hotel is impossible. The hotel has an underground garage for a limited number of cars. However the access is not for the faint hearted... The garage as noted above
Staff was very friendly. We had dinner at the hotel restorant for 18 ERO Good privet parking. If planing to stay one night , it is good value for money. Not so nice area.No internet accsess in the rooms only one computer next to the bar on the lobby for free..Elevators are very small and smell bad.
Problem with the internet service.
Most of all: the location, very convenient when in transit, probably not so nice when on a citytrip. Then the price. Staff is very friendly.
Price, parking, breakfast Stained carpet in the room gave a feeling of dirtiness
It was just ok. The staff at the reception desk was not very nice (especially during check out - it would really be nice to hear at least 'good morning', you felt like an intruder there). Internet was supposed to be available in the rooms according to the booking.com description - it wasn't, only an internet point on the ground floor.
Nothing to save! The reception was cold. We had to manage with our luggage and no help. The night was a nightmare. There is a restaurant on the roof and iron stairs to go to it. People made noise late at night and despite our demand the reception did nothing. Moreover this hotel has no charm: it is cold, unpersonal, with poor breakfast and expensive!
the hotel is new, big clean rooms, good breakfast, very friendly and very helpful staff - overall wonderful stay in Reggio 1) our room was without balcony - no place to dry swimming suits or similar 2) weak hairdryer 3) if they had own beach (even a small one) this would be a perfect place:)
I was going to Reggio Calaberia and was looking for a quality hotel. It was located near the ferry to Sicily, the train terminal and the heart of the city. It was great.
Location, room and breakfast were good. Definitely one of the best hotels for this city.
The hotel was clean and modern and well located. A bit difficult for parking on arrival but there was parking available underneath the hotel for an extra fee.
Staff very willing to help and provide the necessary to make stay enjoyable. Very quiet and peaceful hotel.
Really confortable, nice view, on Sicily side, kind staff.
the quality of the rooms , the fact it was new. very very very business oriented. And the pool is "decorative"!
dinner and proximity to the train station
everything about hotel was good. especially the shower. it is great to be able to have a nice clean showere, that is roomy after travelling for a while
The staff was extremely helpful in arranging dinner reservations and transportation for us. They were helpful in providing ferry schedules and ticket information. The location for easy access to the trains and ferries cannot be beat.
Please write at least 15 words
Please write at least 15 wordsGenerally comfortable staff were attentive in general but there were no English speakers on duty suprising for an hotel close to a ferry port very handy for port facilities c A bit impersonal c
As a backpacker travelling by train and boat, very easy to locate as you arrive, also in the evening.
The staff was very helpfull and the hotel was evry clean and nice.
bathrooms were excellent. Close to the port for transfer to Messina. very noisy
This is an excellent Class A hotel, although Villa San Giovanni offers little reason to stay there, especially on a holiday. The hotel is located across from the stazione and ferry docks, easily visible and only a short walk. Breakfast buffet is especially good.
Fantastic furniture & artifacts - like a museum. Best view
Beautiful location, friendly owners. Restful. Near the ferry port, yet far enough away to be "in another world."
the view of the bay the hotel needs to do a lot of fixing in order to become 3 star hotel. No breakfast was served .we reserved this 3 star hotel hoping we will have a breakfast as was promised in bookings.....The room needs modern appliances
Very friendly owners. Nice location. It seem to have a nice view and some enjoyable yard, which I couldn't apreciate due to a terrible storm. Although the owners are very nice, I hardly can call them "staff" - they received me, accepted the payment and gave me a cup of coffee, and that's about it - and there's nobody else around, so I can't rate "staff" as good.
unfortunately we had cold water, because the gas bottle was empty, but the manager was very nice and reduced the price, the beds are very old ....
The view, the relaxing swing overlooking the Strait of Messina, the English speaking hostess The barking dogs outside & the noise from the high-rise apartment complex nearby - neither one controllable by our host & hostess
