Overview Reviews
Nestled on the beach, this St. John's property is just steps from Leeward Islands and Galley Bay. Hawksbill Beaches and Deep Bay Beach are also within 2 mi (3 km).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was beautiful, staff was friendly and always helpful. Room was always spotless.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous resort, our room was right on the beach with great views.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Walking out of my room straight onto the beach. I really enjoyed the all inclusive adults only atmosphere. Everything was so easy and available. Almost Never left the resort.
Cons: Mosquitoes
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent beach and good food. For the adventurous, you can kayak or sail a cat to Deep Bay to extend your range of exploration. Can even snorkel the wreck in Deep Bay; snorkelling is reasonable at each end of the beach.
Cons: Facilities a little dated and bed mattress could be more comfortable. Staff a little hit and miss on training. Fitness centre had a strong rubber odour from the installed flooring.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved Galley Bay and the beachfront rooms. Stayed for tens days and still did not want to leave. We thought the food was very good and fell in love with their signature Galley Bay special drink. Was perfect setting for honeymoon as we wanted quiet romantic setting.
Cons: The bugs on the beach were very annoying. We used an entire bottle of bug spray! It was just gnats but I would think fogging the areas would help.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a fantastic all inclusive resort. My wife and I are devotees to Sandals, and have visited 5 different Sandals resorts, and we will return to Galley Bay before going to another Sandals. The beach and ocean were to die for, and the food was top notch. The staff was attentive, and the bars were wonderful! We tried to come up with a few things we didn’t like, and nothing came to mind. We will be back!
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t enjoy.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property and grounds were nice. Our room was well furnished and comfortable. The beach was quiet and beautiful.
Cons: The food was average at best. We hoped for more local cuisine, but the menu was rather limited with main stream courses. The food was bland without a lot of flavor. Compared to other all inclusive resorts we have stayed, the food was not as good. We were told by some local Friends that the resort primarily caters to British tourist and they like their food rather bland. Don’t know if that is true or not. I also did not like the rule that men must where long pants to dinner. Antigua is warm, so nice shorts should be allowed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We came to Galley Bay Resort based on the awesome reviews online. They were right! The property was so lush and beautiful. The beach villas were such a treat to have. Each room came with snorkeling gear, which was great to have. The food was amazing too. It was the perfect amount of relaxation and adventure.
Cons: Some of the staff were not as friendly as others. They were conveniently at the bar too, so not all alcoholic drinks were poured the same. We had towels on the floor thinking they would be replaced with new ones, but we learned that they would just be hung up again.
7.5 Good
Pros: Position and layout very good. Beach long and sandy.
Cons: Tired and no attention to detail.
7.9 Good
Pros: location and sandy secluded clean beach- fantastic . Fantastic staff , personal service Excellent entertainment and evening musicians !!
Cons: Menu does not adequately do justice to this resort and its waiting and reception staff e.g. more and fresh better cooked sea water fish .. too much catfish and tilapia often all fish overcooked. Also perhaps more local fayre. Room dated - bathroom needs refurbishing - poor for the price you pay Gym poor dated equipment
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything except sea/ beach quite rough and shelving
Cons: Beach shelving
Buccaneer Beach Club - Cedar Grove - Building

9.3 Excellent (209 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Buccaneer Beach Club in St. John's (Dickenson Bay), you'll be a 1-minute drive from Dickenson Bay Beach and 10 minutes from Fort James. Featured amenities include a computer station, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Staffs are well behaved
Cons: They don't have any restaurant and we booked a room with extra price...it was supposed to be pool facing but they gave a room which is not pool facing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We would like to say a big thank you to all at The Buccaneer Beach.! From the moment we arrived all the staff were fantastic. From organising taxis, car hire and trips out. Nothing was a problem. The apartment was very clean, tidy and of a high quality. The cleaning staff kept it immaculate. The gardens were superb and we liked the small information boards outlining what each plant was. Lovely swimming pool with chairs and umbrellas laid out but to be honest when you have got the Caribbean just steps away we found we rarely used it. It was such a sweet touch that on my wife’s birthday there was a card, flowers and a bottle of wine waiting for us back at our apartment. Thank you all x
Cons: Nothing...! Everything was superb
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great room, great location
7.9 Good
Pros: Great , they renovated the Beach Restaurant just in time for my arrival, LOL; It used to be called Coconut Grove and Jermaine is still the best!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent accomodation and location. Well kept in nice garden, next to the beach. Very friendly staff, early check-in no problem. Quiet location (off season).
Cons: Beach area belonging to Buccaneer beach a bit small, but left and right on beach a lot of alternative locations.
7.5 Good
Pros: This room is comfortable and big enough. The kitchen was well equipped. The beach is fantastic really, you walk out to the beach (on the hotels doorstep) and can either turn right and swim with the tourists or turn left and swim where the locals swim, which is much quiter on working days. I can't comment on the restaurant as I was too stingy to eat there. It's a bit expensive, but hey nobody made me stay here lol. I enjoyed the stay and would stay again, hopefully just a bit cheaper next time
Cons: It's about a 20 minute walk to the nearest supermarket if you plan to cook and make the most of the kitchen. However their is a shop on site that offers the very basics such as water and snacks
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely relaxed atmosphere and friendly attentive staff
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was wonderful. The staff were super nice, a feeling of comfort and friendliness is all around, you get to know the staff also which just feels homey and comfortable. They did everything to make sure I had a good stay, even answered all kinds of stupid questions I had (I was travelling alone, sometimes it's possible that I just wanted to talk). To me, this was a better place to be than in an all incl. resort. Also, as someone mentioned here in the reviews, the rooms look SO much better than they do on the pictures, very well kept and super clean everywhere! The beach front was cozy. There are some restaurants/bars around, but also a huge supermarket not so far from it. I think a taxi was around 12 USD to go to it and shop, but a walk is also not bad at all. Takes around 20-30 minutes each way. St John's is also not far, not sure how much a taxi takes, but I took a local bus for 3 EC and was great (You just have to wait for the bus and get lucky). Highly recommend this place.
Cons: Right now there is construction work right next to it, it's not so bad with the noise, and it should be done very soon. This is not a minus, just a note :)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff are lovely especially Oscar and receptionists. Lovely gardens with orchids grafted into palm trees. Humming birds. Effective air conditioning and spacious clean cottage/room. Beach beds. Free ice. The whole place is quiet and peaceful.
Cons: The building works next door. Lack of eating places in close walking distance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and comfortable- I will return.
Hermitage Bay - Jennings - Building
3
9.3 Excellent (173 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Hermitage Bay is well named; a dirt-track tumble to a hidden Antigua bay takes you to this peaceful Caribbean boutique resort, where there’s no danger of urban distraction – there’s nothing for miles around. A scattering of wooden cottages blends seamlessly with the lush green gardens of the hillside, offering sweet seclusion, understated luxury and a deserted white-sand beach.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful get away. Quiet and restful.
Cons: Bed was a bit too soft.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The very friendly staff only ! And the food was well thought of .....the presentation was good .... and some dishes were yummy . But the menu is rather repetitive .. they should make more effort specially for those tenants staying for a longer period than a week end . We stayed 8 days in the property ... and now moved to another one on the island . Our aim was to stay there for 15 days ..... !!
Cons: The location , the way the bungalows are finished . We took a bungalow by the sea to enjoy living on the beach for 8 days . Instead we had to confine ourselves to our room because the bungalows did not have any glass to protect us from the mosquitos . All what it requires would be a glass or any other effective protection from an army of mosquitos . We had during our time a highly allergic person to mosquitos luckily there was a Dr among the guests to attend to her . I have stayed in highly green areas before there is always a way to control mosquitos . The property is too far from everything so you are kind of forced to stay in or take a taxi drive for an hour. The access to the property is through an unfinished road which is more discouraging factor from going out . When choosing our place to stay we went to the most expensive assuming it will be the most comfortable stay . I got 50 mosquito bites and kept scratching all the time ..i was unable to enjoy the sea view from my front row bungalow ... they were no glass windows to allow to open the wooden Louvres and enjoy the place without an army of mosquitos attaching and humidity rushing in as soon as you open the wooden louvres . There is no mention that the toilet is a part of the room open architecture . also part of the closet where you hang your clothes . It is all part of one open space . It is rather less hygienic ... this is not clearly shown in the pictures on the site . The showers are outside the room which forces you to take your shower before it get dark otherwise you get bitten and you might feel a bit cold in a windy night . I suggest all the above should be shared with the targeted audience on your site or upon booking prior to confirmation . As it is not fair that guests will pay this amount of money , coming to rest .. get so stressed and disappointed . Lastly , this property is not good value for money , it is not essentially targeting high end travelers , it is rather over-priced !!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, food, entertainment, location
Cons: Bug control Need eco friendly solutions
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and spacious rooms, friendly and kind staff, good food and breakfast, good cervices!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Very well maintained, staff very friendly, we are surrounded by fans of booming flowers. Exceptional stay.
Cons: Too short :)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beatiful beach, fantastic blue water, pretty almost very friendly staff, good food for all inclusive.
Cons: A lot of Brocken glass on the beach The hotel must buy special machine which separates sand and everything else it is not very expensive, The hotel must do something against mosquitoes because it is absolutely horrible.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Arranged halal food for us and it was very very good
Cons: Overpriced
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view from our hillside suite was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly. The service was top shelf.
Cons: We didn’t like that it rained several days and that we had to leave.

7.1 Good
Pros: Wonderful location
Cons: Dining room buffet with birds allowed to peck on the food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a (Brit) family owned resort and they are very hands on - Director flies out very regularly to check everything is just right. The results show, and by good comparison with the big corporate chain resorts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff could not be more friendly or helpful! Fabulous place and incredibly well run
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful garden ,nice views, Tranquility with style. Also it’s still a high class family hotel! A lot of upper class hotels in Antigua are boring “adults only” hotels in the meanwhile . So,even when i‘m alone travelling ,I would prefer such a normal nice atmosphere. Breakfast was very good!
Cons: At the front desk ,Alicia was incompetent and unfriendly. When I asked for a room ,she told me ,the hotel is full. I used wifi from the hotel to book than my room there via booking com... Afterwards she let me obviously waiting a long time until I got the room. When I asked her if there is a welcome drink offer ,like usually everywhere in Antigua ,she told me „off course“ But she didn’t do anything, that i get something to drink... Kind of rude!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were outstanding. Cleanliness was top notch. My daughter and I do not drink, so were on the bed/breakfast plan which does not allow for lighter less expensive dining. I would suggest a revamp of the menu and more availability of less expensive lighter food with more of American options.
Cons: Menu and cost of food if you are not on all inclusive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location, the staff and the ambiance. Absolutely perfect size. Staff friendly and professional beyond bounds. Commend staff members Bella, Derah, TJ and Tario John the head gardiner was wonderful
Cons: Suggestion for the future ... avoid using so many plastic water bottles. Supply visitors with a recyclable water bottle that is branded and have water coolers around to fill up during the day
4.2 Okay
Cons: Cove Restaurant Food was bland and tasteless for this level of establishment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They are very kind and helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Meals were great!!! Especially the grilled eggplant!!!! Beds were great also !!!
Cons: I didn’t like that we were ONLY there 8 DAYS!!!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff and service were excellent in a very warm and friendly way
Cons: Wi-fi was only good in main areas, poor in the rooms

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms, clean , great staff
Cons: No issues
6.7 Good
Pros: convenience,
Cons: The Villa had workers doing work on the property every day for the entire week except wednesday. Even though the work was exterior work, the hammering/ painting and the work men being in a space that was supposed to be quiet and peaceful. No paying customer should have to endure this anywhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a one bedroom Villa, Very nice! Over looked the pool and a great view of the ocean. The property was beautiful, the beach was clean and the water a beautiful blue, close to the floating bar, water activities and places to eat and a grocery store. The kitchen had everything I needed for cooking and we cooked in room a lot. Even a blender for my Pina Colada’s. The gas ran out for the stove one night. We reported it to the office and it was immediately replaced. Housekeeping was very accommodating.

Pros: Staff are very helpful, you can by icecream at reception, try the Tamarind icecream it's to die for
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the staff and the location.
Cons: Because of the refurbishments, I had to go elsewhere to eat. Once they've finished, it's ack to 5 stars all round!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to beach and restaurants, close to town
Cons: Everything ok just missed the restaurant which was closed for a refurb, whuch we were ore warned of.,
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff was very friendly and courteous.
Cons: It was confusing to find the reception office because of the construction going on. It was like a maze so they should try to make the grounds more appealing for their guests. The pool area was not very appealing because of all the bushes. There were no ammenities such as hand soap or toothpaste in the room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Close proximity to the beach. Very nice updated rooms, friendly staff.
Cons: Restaurant was closed.
6.7 Good
Pros: Room was great as always.
Cons: No heads up on the issue that there is no restaurant or bar in the hotel, remodeling.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was great and convenient - close to beach, close to a few restaurants, not far from St. John's (town). Pool at the property. Pleasant and helpful staff. Room was cleaned daily.
Cons: Standard room was disappointing - very small and not very well lit. No stove and/or microwave.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything the workers are amazing
Cons: I can't complain
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The resort is in wonderful location and the gardens are beautiful
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The entire staff was incredibly nice and very helpful. Also our room was well appointed.
Cons: The property is added some additional rooms so construction is underway.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good, the rest of the restaurants were below par and half were closed. Room was big and clean apart from ants all around the bar TV area. Pool area nice but constant interruptions from staff trying to sell one thing or another ruined it, the staff were all pleasant and only doing their job so this is a management decision to try and squeeze as much cash as possible from customers. When you pay $550 per night you'd think they would be happy with that! And when other guess strike up a conversation with the problems on resort you know it's not just you.
Cons: Half the restaurants were closed, items on menu not available, all inclusive but had to ask multiple times for basics, wifi useless unless you pay to upgrade. Constantly pestered by staff for spa, photo and vacation upgrades, one day they had market stalls around the pool trying to sell more items. I went to relax and this was the most un-relaxing vacation I have ever had. I hired a jeep to escape during the day, not good when you pay top dollar on a resort.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff and atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming
Cons: I was booked for the spa and after the service was done then told I had to pay and the amount was really costly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Cafe de bistro, the pizza, barefoot restaurant, courtyard cafe, the big pool, the beach, the clean well maintained area, the photoshop,
Cons: The fact that because of the weather, we were unable to go snorkeling, some of the drinks were not as expected, food options for breakfast could have had more vege options, the cats
6.7 Good
Cons: Attitude of younger staff. After many Stays at this property this one was the most dissapointing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff, accommodation and location
Cons: All the restaurants, the food was very disappointg, except for barefoot restaurant. Especially Eleanor's Fish
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Food, staff and hospitality were good. Night entertainment was great
Cons: Bathroom in the room we stayed in needed upgraded. Tiles looked old and dirty. Mixed matched colours, a cockroach was seen in the bathroom at night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room services were excellent and the food was great
Cons: Loved everything
5.8 Okay
Cons: The room, no robes, no spirits in room. had to pay up front and stated payment would be made at the property.
6.3 Good
Pros: The cats, reasonable no of restaurants and decent pool close to the beach!
Cons: Given its 6 star rating (by the resort) I would only give it 3.5 star. Took 1 hour wait to check in, our bags were ‘rifled through’ before they got to our room & overall service was incredibly slow, no pool service and difficult to get a sun lounge lounger. We only had a 3 day stay to ‘test the water’ and pleased I did would not return
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location was excellent, weather was excellent
Cons: Room was tired and in need of repair. Linens were only provided when demanded, including beach towels. Staff's outlook on service was the poorest I have experienced in 35 years through out the region. The Club level is a "fraud" in terms of adding any additional level of attentiveness. Clearly the hotel is mismanaged from the top.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were ultra friendly and very helpful with organising taxis, restaurant bookings. Great vibe in the hotel with spectacular views. Room had masses of space and a balcony.
Cons: The cocktails could be improved. Rather too sweet for our liking.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Views were amazing.
Cons: Service was shocking.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: great hotel, located on the hill over looking Dickenson Bay, great views, and away from the hustle of the beach. staff were very friendly and attentive, the reception team let us leave our suitcases at the hotel two days prior to us checking in, which meant that we didn't have to carry them over to Montserrat. Food at the Restaurant was excellent, with a wide verity of options for breakfast, lunch and evening meal. The restaurant also attracted local dinners, which is alway a good sign. the hotel offers a free shuttle service to the beach and back, which is great for getting back up the hill. The hotel is also used by the BA cabin crew again another good sign.
Cons: nothing to not like, we feel we received good value for what we paid.

7.5 Good
Pros: Internet was good, Bed very comfortable, place was clean.
Cons: I think the idea of sharing one kitchen and one bathroom was not on my mind, but you just have to make it work, and given the fact it was just for a night.i
7.1 Good
Pros: Comfortable room
Cons: Sharing bathroom with other guests
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Prince is a wonderful host, he can pick you up at airport and will also help you to some nice tours on the island. The guesthouse is very nice and clean, close to supermarkets and city center. I had a perfect stay in Eko Cozy Guest House.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The bed was huuuuge. House was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a supermarket just up the road. You can easily walk to both bus stops if you want to take public transport to beaches or you can easily rent a car from the kind owner. This place is ideal for independent travelers or people on a budget. You really get a feel for the local life here yet you can go sit on a beach very easily too if you take the cheap bus. The neighborhood was safe and I felt fine as a woman traveling alone. I saw other reviewers comment that the neighborhood felt unsafe but I need to disagree. Sometimes things look rough around the edges but this is common in lots of urban areas in the Caribbean and I don’t think it should be used to measure whether or not an area is safe.
Cons: You can’t really adjust the AC and I was a bit chilly. Even with the windows closed there was a lot of street noise like loud music from cars or zooming motorcycles. It didn’t bother me but I could see how that may bother someone who isn’t used to it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Prince is an excellent host always with a smile. The room is spacious clean and the bed is the biggest and most comfortable we found in similar places in other Caribbean islands. It is a convenient located 10 minutes walk from the city centre.
Cons: It was not clear during the booking that the bathroom was shared. Breakfast.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was simple and tidy, very clean. Quiet and no noise. Was not in the greatest place but foe what was needed that didn't matter, so no complaints.
Cons: No support from the travel connections. The service is taxis were bad and unhelpful. I luckily made my own arrangements as the booked taxi never turned up.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This place is great , especially for that price! The owner Prince is super friendly and helps where he can. It's actually a small and very clean house with two rooms, a kitchen , bathroom and a nice balcony to hang out. The house is in a local area with friendly neighbours.its a 2 minute walk to the nearest supermarket or restaurant, also in 10 minutes walk you already at the market place in St. Johns, close to the cruise ship port, restaurants and tourist shopping We stayed there 4 nights and had a great time.
6.7 Good
Pros: Good size bedroom and TV.
Cons: I did not know it was shared bathroom, but for that price I should have suspected. Breakfast provisions could be better.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: host could not have done more. very kind and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Prince and his daughter were very good host always no hand to help they were both very friendly people
Cons: It’s not that I didn’t like it but the main road is close by and could be noisy at times but not all the time

Pros: Room is excellent
Cons: Little leaks in the roof in the loony area
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location, laid back staff but very helpful. Food and outside bar area, beaches, trips. Eco approach to be commended. Great gardens.
Cons: Rooms are comfortable but very dated and in places, tired. Shower was very tricky to set temperature. The white and rose wine was poor. Even with inclusive we’d have expected better quality. On a few occasions at breakfast the service was poor; took a long time to order a coffee. This seemed to depend on a couple of staff who were not attentive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I highly recommend it. Kindness, respect and service of the hotel staff is excellent. It is a very quiet place with a beautiful sea view and many details for the convenience of guests. CONGRATULATIONS! NICCOLÓ AND HIS TEAM ARE THE BEST!

Pros: We loved the amazing staff, the view we had was amazing and the pool is great also and also we loved the fact that it was very comfortable and private.
Cons: We didn't like the poor selection of food (my gf is a pescatarian) from the buffet, also we both didn't know there wasn't Ala cart service provided. Also we didn't know there were two different categories.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice location
Cons: Staff area of improvement is to please become customer friendly and more helpful.

6.7 Good
Pros: Cleanliness, large bed and good tv reception. Nice plants etc, beach very close to property
Cons: Reception although we talked about them calling a taxi for me were still closed at 09.15 this morning. Not everyone has a functioning phone when in the Caribbean... it worked out ok but not the best start to the day when you need to be at the airport for a certain time. Also take bug spray as although room fitted with mosquito net there were many already inside apartment .
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful room with double balcony at the end overlooking the beach which was 20 feet away, was certainly way better than I thought, waited up for me after later flight. The place was much better than I was expecting, with large fridge freezer, wonderful views and a pleasure to stay. Oh and only 10 minutes by taxi from the airport, it is outside the capital so it avoids all the traffic jams.
Cons: Nothing really, I loved the stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the bed wasn't the greatest first I had 2 twin bed put together looks like a king .I told him its not a king so they change it the next day
Cons: didn't like the toilet was very hard to flush
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We loved the view from the room and the quick access to the beach. The owner of the hotel is very nice and very helpful. The cross breeze through the room made it very comfortable and we only had to use the air conditioners on one quite-warm night. This is not the Ritz Carlton but the view and the beach make up for any possible shortcomings go as far as the room comfort etc. go. If you are looking for perfection than pay more money and go somewhere else. If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay that offers good service, great views and a decent beach than I recommend this hotel for sure.
Cons: The only restaurant near the hotel is right next door and the food was expensive and not very good so we decided to cook a few meals in the room (and the fact that we could was awesome!) but the kitchen is lacking some basic things like measuring cups, dish towels, salt and pepper, paper towels and a few other things. We did manage to make it all work so it worked out fine.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location was good and hotel next door had a good bar and restaurant
Cons: Just a bit tired but I only stayed one night so it was fine.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location on the beach and the arrangement whereby we could share some facilities such as beaches & restaurant in the neigbouring hotel. Big double bed. Off road parking.
Cons: Wifi was spasmodic. Hotel was tired & needed updating (which the management said they were working on). Kitchen lacked adequate equipment, including cutlery and crockery. Supplies such as washing up liquid and tea towel were absent. Some of these can be easily rectified.
7.1 Good
Pros: Located next to a great resort. that was the only place around to eat. Manager gave me ride at 5 am to airport and let me check in early.
Cons: The cockroach in the shower required work to get rid of it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent! Perched right on the shore the views were stunning with access to some of the hotel facilities next door! The owner was very helpful and accommodating for our need. Even changing the room when he realised thyme mother would have issues accessing the room that we’d booked. It was a very pleasant stay and would definitely visit North Shore again!
Cons: There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the property
7.1 Good
Pros: The apartment catered for 3 people easily - thank you. View over the sea/beach was lovely with a lovely balcony.
Cons: It was a little tired.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean, efficient, lovely restaurant next to the hotel and nice beach. Used as a layover for flight, super quick to the airport and would highly recommend for a lay over stop. All good.
Cons: Nothing to note.

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing apart from the location.
Cons: We stayed for one night at the beginning of a very special holiday. The food was inedible; utter garbage. The all inclusive drinks were of a dreadful quality. The first beer ran out, then the second. The wine was like vinegar. Do NOT expect luxury at this hotel. The room was next to the beach. Check out at reception was up a steep path. No staff were on hand to carry bags and some stood and watched us drag 3 bags up the steep hill. It is dreadful and an utter waste of a gorgeous location
7.1 Good
Pros: Lovely beach but food is not what you expect in a resort like this. Rooms are very standard even we booked a superior
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The food was very good. Buffet breakfast was quite busy but we were well looked after and the omelettes were great. a lunch buffet was offered in the beach bar; I particularly liked the fresh fish. The evening meal was again a buffet. Getting there early offers the best choice of tables and popular food. Drinks were plentiful and the rum cocktails were strong. The beaches and gardens are great with some coral for snorkelling just out from the shore. One of the four beaches caters for naturists but is possibly the most beautiful. The bed and pillows were fantastic and the room was very clean and serviced on a daily basis.
Cons: Wi-fi was patchy in our room but good in the main building. The rooms look a bit shabby and door locks are on the weak side. However, a lock and key for the safe to keep valuables secure was provided on request.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and location were amazing. This spot is simply “relaxing” and the staff treated you like family.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is beautiful. The liquor & wine choices are poor. Too little available chairs on beach. No response when asked for chairs.
Cons: No available chair for the beach. Didn't like the liquor choices.
7.5 Good
Pros: The food was excellent. Most of the staff were very friendly altho the resort felt understaffed. The relaxed atmosphere and location were fantastic as was the option of beaches
Cons: Our room was classed as superior. There was nothing superior about it at all. The shower was nothing more than a dribble for the first 4days. Couldn’t even wash the sand off. Rarely had anything approaching warm water. The drain then blocked. In a beach resort with a mosquito problem nets should be in every room- they were not. At a beach location with blazing hot sun shade should be provided - it was not which meant many had to try and share the few trees for shade. The loungers were fairly useless and many were broken. I can forgive many other things such as the late cleaning of rooms and electricity going off but in my view a decent shower, shade loungers and mosquito protection are essentials. Finally this hotel is out of the main town which I was pleased about but there is no transport on offer to get anywhere other than taxis- it is too dangerous to drive
7.9 Good
Pros: The location is terrific and the staff good.
Cons: Rather disappointed with the food this visit.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location is the most beautiful and pristine on the entire island like a postcard. It's remote though. The beach is gorgeous, no jelly fish, no seaweed, while other resorts were having this problem.
Cons: It is old and really needs a facelif. But they are charging like it's a very upscale place, probably because of the location. It is a very remote area. There isn't much staff, breakfast took 2 hours. Also there was no help with bags and it is a very long walk with lots of steps to get to your rooms. The all inclusive is nothing special, in fact it is pretty bad.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Beach
Cons: Food -dinner Service in dining room
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful beaches. Caring staff! Food is Ok! Price is very good. Beach Club room was nice. No problems as I had read about mosquitoes. William the bartender was awesome!
Cons: Lost of flies at breakfast and lunch. On Eden Beach the aroma of the goat droppings is very strong. No OJ at breakfast. or no mustard for any meal.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent beach location and food!
Cons: The room was very outdated. The tv had static and snow like it was the 80’s with rabbit ear antenna’s.. the bath room was not very well lit and very old looking and outdated.. the bed and sheets seem old. The water coming out of the sink was brown or cloudy.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location and layout of the hotel
Cons: There are no hooks in any of the rooms to hang anything, like bath towels
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the resort, will definitely come back again!
Cons: The only thing i didn't like was that the resort restaurant had 3 at hand and if you did not book within a certain time frame the restaurant would become full but to my understanding it was slow season which meet space were available but whatever.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Minus the first person I encountered, all other staff were very good. Good and tasty food too.
Cons: The staff I met at check-in should not be working at a hotel. Please provide more information about the facility online; I got to know many things when I checked - in which I think should have been on bookings app. I had to change my room due to the air conditioner being very old and loud, and the second one was not any better.
6.7 Good
Pros: Friendliness and efficiency of staff
Cons: Room was inadequate and needed a serious updating
4.6 Okay
Pros: BEACH AND GROUNDS WERE NICE
Cons: DIRTY,CONFUSED STAFF,PROPERTY IN POOR CONDITION IN NEED OF COMPLETE RESTORATION
6.3 Good
Pros: The beach and sea was amazing
Cons: Upgrade air conditioning bed was uncomfortable and most importantly the dinning room needs air conditioning hate to eat when I’m uncomfortable
7.9 Good
Pros: I liked everything about that property I enjoyed my stay I going to come again....
Cons: I didn’t like no free internet on the rooms that was very distasteful tho!!!!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I chose the Jolly Starfish as I was travelling with my 11yr old and felt that the facilities would suit both of us well enough for a week. Having read many reviews before booking, I wasn't surprised that the hotel was a little 'tired' as far as upkeep is concerned, or that the staff (most of them, anyway!) were friendly and upbeat. I had been a little worried that there would be huge amounts of noise and activity around the pool area but these worries were unwarranted. The hotel provided plenty of opportunity for those interested to join groups for pool volleyball or pool aerobics and various art/craft activities etc, but none of these were invasive and we could still enjoy the swim up bar, pool side and beach without being constantly disturbed by too much noise! The beach is as stunning as reported, and the hotel provides Hobi Cats, Paddle Boards and Kayak's which are free to use if staying on the All Inclusive package. There are people on the beach who rent out jet ski's at the rate of $50US for 30 mins and you can also book some excursions with them too. I had read that the deluxe rooms were near the Italian Holiday Club and therefore noisy. It's true that ALL the deluxe rooms are in that 'wing' of the hotel but, apart from the first night, the club didn't bother us as they have to quieten down by 10 or 11pm. The hotel is bigger than expected but never seemed too busy except for during the Carnival weekend when there was a big influx of guests and a longer than usual wait at the lunch time burger bar!! I'm not sure I would appreciate the hotel as much in high season, but at the time of year when we visited, it was lovely. I requested a nice room with beach view as it was going to be my birthday and they couldn't have done better with their choice. We stayed in Room No. 210 in the St. Croix block which we really enjoyed.
Cons: I took various electrical items but only one adaptor plug ... sadly the plug sockets weren't the same as my adaptor so I couldn't use my hairdryer or straighteners etc!! There was a coffee machine in the room but only one place where it would plug in, so I would like to think they will get that sorted at some point. I booked a deluxe room as it had a safe in it, which I presumed would be free to use due to the extra room cost, however, this was wrong and we were charged a daily rate in order to use the safe. There were no bottles of water in the rooms which would have been nice ... even if it were just that first day, and the TV is completely rubbish with a bad picture and bad reception. The guys at the watersports desk can be rather sultry, but one of them is very chatty once you get talking. The man who teaches sailing seems pretty grumpy and miserable but the morning restaurant staff are quite the opposite with a song (theoretically) to brighten your day .... EVERY DAY!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Words can’t explain how beautiful Jolly beach is. The property was located on the best beach on the island. The beach is pristine with beautiful white sand and clear water perfect for snorkling, sailing, swimming all on the resort property. The staff were genuine and very attentive and always had a smile on their face. The food was amazing with every meal and served a wide variety. This resort is perfect for families, couples, children, friends etc. the resort has something to offer everyone. We can not wait to get back and stay even longer next time!
Cons: The only minor inconvenience was having to go to designated WiFi areas to receive connection. This was also a positive thing because it forced you to completely disconnect.
7.9 Good
Pros: I like the people food and most of all the drinks the room was ok but kinda small but cozy I like everything as but it and would stay there again
Cons: The heat and the smug

8.3 Excellent
Cons: Big room very spacious and easy to catch public transportation.
7.1 Good
Pros: Apartment was spacious and comfortable. The owner was extremely friendly and hospitable. Buses to town are frequent and pass immediately outside.
Cons: There was a water problem while I was there, which restricted availability. Apparently the problem is island wide. It no longer has a restaurant although help was given to get to nearby supermarket.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Annetta was very helpful and friendly.Room was very comfortable although i should have booked a room with a kitchen as the communal one was being renovated.Good value for money.
Cons: The water shortage could be frustrating although it wasn't anyone's fault.

7.1 Good
Pros: Wonderful location

Pros: Ivonne and her mother are true angels! They picked me up from the airport and I felt right at home the week I was there. The apartment was nice and had everything I needed and the property is beautiful with an amazing view of the ocean. I will be returning!
Cons: There’s nothing not to like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were met on arrival by the owner Ivonne, who immediately made us feel at home, we were shown around the apartment which was spacious with all of the kitchen facilities required for a self-catering holiday. There's even a BBQ if you fancy cooking outside. Ivonne was extremely obliging, asking if we needed anything else and to just let her know if we needed anything else at all. Breakfast was served in our room at the time we requested, it was individually cooked instead of being canteen style which you would get from most hotels. They offer a shuttle to and from the airport and local beaches so even if you don’t have a car you can get around, I’m sure if you needed to go to the local supermarket Ivonne would accommodate you. The back of the apartments opened out onto a private garden surrounded by bougainvillea with a wonderful panoramic view of Dickenson Bay.
Cons: There wasn't anything not to like. If I had to recommend one thing it would be to provide an ashtray in the garden.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect value for money. Absolutely awesome place and host.

Pros: Beautiful location. Lovely views. Great hosts.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view is beautiful. Very clean. Felt safe as in a nice area. Taxi used to go to the beach. Walking distance to a nice restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious, well equipped and clean apartment. The family were very helpful and understanding. They picked me up at the airport, even though my flight was delayed an hour, took me to and from the beach and took me back to the airport. It is 15 mins from the airport, so ideal for short stays which is what I needed. Dickenson beach is a 5 min drive away and is a stunning place to visit. Excellent breakfast. A great value place to stay, with friendly and helpful hosts
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The host was friendly, always clean and helpful when assistance was needed.
Cons: Was a little during the night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely fantastic hosts, Ivonne and her mother made me feel so welcome and comfortable. Pretty much all my needs were catered to and they were extremely helpful in helping me to get around the island safely. The property is highly maintained and the views are absolutely breathtaking. You won’t regret staying here. I will definitely be back.
Cons: No AC but that didn’t matter. They provided extra fans and there are sea breezes.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great kitchen and large refrigerator. , Large bedrooms on either side of the unit for children and adults. Big walkout balcony with awesome view and dining table for meals. Generous parking on the property and friendly, efficient host.
Cons: Would have loved AC as it's so hot this summer. .However, there were ceiling fans in each room, a standing fan and double doors leading to the balcony that I opened to let the breerze in.
