Stayed at hotel while on driving trip. Clean room, quality facilities. Breakfast bar well stocked despite busy morning with many guests there. Highly recommend.
We were waited on immediately and the clerk was very friendly. The hotel looked very nice and clean. The room was nice and clean, but i hate fat pillows! the breakfast they offered was yummy with lots of choices, and everything looked and tasted fresh. I had a rental car, but didn't know how to get back to the airport on the day of my departure, so the shuttle bus driver (who did not speak English very well) let me follow him to the airport even though he didn't have any other passengers! (He was such a cute little guy, and we had fun trying to figure out how to make each other understand what the plan was.) He made sure to keep me in his sights the whole way, which made me feel so comfortable and safe. He certainly went above and beyond the call of duty!
The hotel was older, a bit outdated, but suited my needs for just a night. It had a perfect location right by the interstate and across from a downtown mall. I was disappointed with the noise, the hair dryer which barely worked, and a toilet that kept making sounds all night. The small gym was adequate, but smelled like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Overall, it suited the needs as I was on my way to NC. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was a nice treat.
I went to this hotel on short notice, it was reasonably priced and staff was great. Probably the best free breakfast selection I've had at any hotel...I'd recommend it.
Room was clean, location was good and staff was helpful. Would recommend.
The hotel had very comfortable beds and the free breakfast was a nice surprize and tasty. The stay was well worth it and i left feeling i got my moneys worth.
They have the best location for the civic center but if they are full you will have no hot water in the morning, the hallways are noisy, elevator is slow and side door does not like to open with your room key like it is intended.
The Staff and Service was excellent hotel experience exceeded our expectation
Soon after settling down in our room, we discovered we were locked in our room! The deadbolt was stuck in the locked position and the knob on the door would just spin around and around. We called the front desk and soon after, a staff person came and started trying to open the door with the 'emergency key'. It failed. She told us she would call the security guard (he never did come), the staff member told us to open our sliding window as much as we could, she handed us a tiny screwdriver and told us to break the lock on the window (didn't work). One person in our party had to crawl out a 6 inch space to go get a multi-tool our of our car. After breaking the lock to get the window open, the staff member tells us, 'well I guess you were going out for the night, just close the window behind you, let me know if you descide you want another room!' We were so upset, demanded another room (which we did not pay for), and had to move all of our belongings out the open window and in a back entrance door. The staff member did not offer to help us do any of this and simply stated, 'I am so sorry I got so frustrated!' This is a safety concern, I will always request a first floor room and carry a multi-tool with me traveling, and NEVER stay here again!
I was on another website for this hotel. say pets are allowed......there not! Great to Know after a 12 hour drive Says there were rooms open...nope!!!! All booked up! Never stay there again.....
Easy on and off I-64. Right next to mall and lots of food. Continental breakfast at hotel was good. Traveled with 5 month old and were able to sleep well even with a hotel full of AAU basketball teams.
Nice big room. Clean. The beds were wonderful - great mattress - wonderful sheets - as nice as I have at home. We couldn't figure out how to use the TV remote ... at 9pm on Saturday night the front desk sent someone very quickly to show us how to work it. Great location -walk to lots of restaurants and shopping. A stone's throw from the convention center. Lots of free parking. What's not to like? I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. I've paid alot more for alot less.
I thought I was taking a chance staying at a 2-star hotel, but this was very comfortable with a nice breakfast. Nothing fancy, and no pool or hot tub, but I like how they have multiple ''hard'' or ''soft'' pillows to pick from and comfortable beds. I should not have rented a car. I could walk most places in downtown Charleston.
While staying here moved two times and third room was not a charm. Very dirty hotel, rooms stink like cig's and the laundry room was more dirty than our dirty clothes. They should not advertise they have breakfast; cold eggs - ?Front desk was less than average. Very disappointing.
Very disappointed in this hotel. Was traveling on business and was looking for a place to stay in downtown Charleston. This property appears to be just a rehashed old 60's vintage Holiday Inn. Rooms are not very soundproof. Significant traffic noise. Overpriced. Would not recommend and do not plan to stay here again.
Housekeeping is excellent, rooms are always clean and comfortable. The desk staff , however, is cold and unfriendly. When checking out the clerk refused to give me a receipt something that has always been provided at other Holiday Inn Expresses. Breakfast? Cold boiled eggs get a little old. I am traveling to Charleston in the upcoming year on business and I plan to stay somewhere else instead.
We were very disappointed in the quality of this hotel. The furnishings were very dilapidated and the ''non smoking room'' stunk of cigarette smoke. We walked out and went to the Marriott. We were unable to to any kind of refund from Holiday Inn Express so we ended up just losing our money.
Clean, quiet. King bed very comfortable. Make sure you follow directions to the hotel precisely, especially at night. The hilly terrain and one-way streets make for exit ramps that can easily confuse a stranger.
