Trouble with initial booking but otherwise ok

Pros: Once our rental price was final (after the disagreement) the rest of the rental process was pretty easy. A charge for a full tank of gas (66 euro) was added to the hold amount on our card in case we ended up returning the car without a full tank of gas. We were assured tha this was the best price for gas we could get if we needed to refill the whole tank but I am not sure that I believe that based on my calculations and the size of the gas tank. We only had to spend 15 euro to fill the tank in the end even with all of the driving that we did so the 66 euro would not have been worth it for us. The car was in ok condition. Nothing to brag about but we did not experience any trouble with it.

Cons: When we arrived for booking we were told that the insurance we had added to our booking through Budget.com (after our Kayak booking) wasn't available and that we would need to purchase insurance directly through the pickup location which was much more expensive. After 20 minutes of disagreeing and discussing the matter our booking was finally lowered close to what we'd originally been quoted with full insurance but we still ended up paying more. Our original booking for three days was $169 but we were quoted instead 179 euro and told that it was the best price. This was very frustrating but we didn't have any option but to accept or go without a car. If we'd had a credit card to book with instead of a visa debit then we would have definitely gone with a more affordable company for our 3 day rental.
