KAYAK’s top tips for renting a car in Ibiza
Achieve ultimate flexibility with a rental car during your stay in Ibiza. The airport is about six miles from the city center and a car puts you within a convenient 15-minute drive of the airport. Also, Ibiza sports some remote beaches like the Carrer Cala Xuclà, which is a 15-minute drive from the center and a hidden gem where you can escape the crowds.
Pick up a rental car at the Ibiza Airport terminals, where there are an abundance of car rental services such as Sixt, Avis, or Hertz. Some other pick-up stations are reachable with a shuttle bus. The way out of the airport is signposted, but bear in mind that street signs may be in Spanish and Catalan, so don’t be confused when you read Eivissa, which means Ibiza.
Having a car in Ibiza is advantageous, as it provides the freedom to explore every nook and cranny of the island; but drivers should consider that, although roads are usually well-maintained in urban areas, dirt tracks leading to scenic beaches and villas may be narrow and should be approached carefully. This is also important because the car insurance often doesn’t cover damages done to the car’s underside.
Ibiza doesn’t usually have too much in the way of traffic jams. However, during the summer season, traffic increases significantly due to the presence of holiday workers and tourists. The island is renowned for its party scene and drunk driving is also a sad but common phenomenon, so, especially during the night, drivers should be careful and attentive on the roads.

You will be able to squeeze through the various crowded streets and therefore reach your destination in time. Additionally, these minicars will also ensure you get wherever you want and still make it back to the city to stay the night. You can browse through the various mini car options in Ibiza and book the most suitable ones on KAYAK.

The rental price is extremely affordable until you go to pickup the car, that’s when the hidden fees pop up. I originally paid $16 USD for two days and then when I got to the counter there was a hold charge of $77 USD for fuel (returned at time of car return if returned full) and I had the option to either have a €900 deposit hold put on or buy the €70 insurance. The €900 often takes “one month to return back to your card” This seems like quite the scam in order to get people to buy the insurance (even though my personal car insurance covers rentals and so does my Visa card) Unethical business practices like this are what puts businesses out of business.

Good car. Swift service. Easy return. The insurance was very disappointing-more than the cost of the car hire.

Car not so new. Not very clean. The worse thing is a deposit o 1100 euro if you dont hire extra insurance THAT TAKES ONE MONTH to be returned. That absurd!
I didn't get the car. But the experience was also bad due to Kayak probably not being helpful on customer support and maybe not adding clearly the late pickup fee

The service was awful and the wait to get a car was more than 2 hours
Terrible experience. They start by asking - your first time with the Company (weird question to ask everybody) - but I now understand why, This has to be your first time, as it will be your last time. Company and Staff misleading you at every turn. I've never received such out of the blue fees. Terrible, terrible experience. I would not recommend my enemy to waste time and money with ClickRent.
