Cons: Most inefficient pick up ever. One person working with 5 people in line, didn't have type of car from reservation, had to clean car for 15min before I could get it. The rental car pickup took longer then my flight from Atlanta.

They stood me up!
Cons: I waited over 30 minutes for shuttle from the airport to the Thrifty location (Charleston, SC) - it never showed. I called to confirm that a shuttle does exist. I asked how frequently it runs - the lady said "regularly". I got an Uber instead. Five stars for the Uber - showed up in <3 minutes and cost less than Thrifty.

Cons: it took an hour from point of getting to the office from the airport until leaving with the car at midnight - there was only one other person ahead of me - we sat there looking at each other for an hour wondering where the two employees were.
The woman at the counter went to get the car for the first person- didn't come back for 25 minutes - my daughter and I thought something may have happened to the person-just as we started to leave to go look - she miraculously appeared with "a car'.
When returning the car - it took me 45 minutes as they only had counter people and no one to check the cars in and we were told we had to wait until they got the people into their vehicles.
Finally they stuck me with an outrageous deposit which didn't fall off my credit card for 7 days after return.

Cons: I was very unhappy with the car provided, the staff at the location and the lack of timeliness. I was told I was getting an upgrade yet the upgrade was not clean, had no power windows or locks and the steering was off. It needed an alignment. The driver from the airport was awesome but outside of that I was very dissatisfied.

Cons: The Nissan Sentra given to us at the rental office was FILTHY! My wife was reluctant to touch several areas of the passenger compartment, including the sun visor. Dirtiest car I've ever rented!

Cons: It was not readily apparent that there were 6-8 on-site car rental agencies and that this was offsite 20 minutes away. I cancelled the reservation when I realized this.

Nice Representatives; Terrible Cars
Pros: The rental car agents at pick up and drop off at Charleston International Airport were very nice and efficient.
Cons: The car itself was terrible. It smelt like someone had been smoking in it for years. The shocks and suspension of the car were shot and that made for a terrible ride.
Pros: The car was clean, and got us to all of our destinations.
Cons: We were given the wrong pickup location and enterprise didn't have a record of the Allianz insurance we purchased and told us we could purchase their $36 a day insurance. Apparently people are given the incorrect address frequently.

Canceled at last minute
Cons: Last minute trip. last minute res. As I was waiting on UBER to take me to the rental car location, I got a call saying they didn't have any cars. Not sure what happened. Ended up renting elsewhere and had a fine experience with another company that is in a more convenient location just my trip was delayed about 2 hours.

Cons: The AC in the car was working but only cool if you have it on max AC, TERRIBLY long line and only two guys working. Management should realize this, staff up based upon flights, then let people go home.

Terrible service-- do not rent at Charleston airpo
Pros: The car (once we got it) was great--clean, drove well. No complaints with the car itself.
Cons: Customer service was terrible. We reserved the car in advance, went to the counter once we arrived, and the service representative told us to go outside to get the car, but they were backed up and it might be a 15 minute wait. He then encouraged us to walk around or grab a coffee before going outside. We did that and went outside only to find that we were not actually in the queue for our car. We had no idea that our payment and check-in inside did not automatically add us to the queue. What kind of crazy system do they have that makes you check in twice and hand a piece of paper to a guy outside in a tent? The guy inside did not manage expectations well at all. He was telling people "10-15 minutes wait" when it was actually closer to an hour wait. He admitted that he couldn't tell people it was an hour wait because they might choose another service. They were backed up on servicing the vehicles, but most of us in line doubted they even had the cars on site. Because they could not manage expectation properly, everyone was furious and complaining and it was a terrible way to start our vacation. I have only ever rented from enterprise in the past, and after this experience I will never rent from them again. Avoid this company at Charleston airport!!!

Cons: I waited 45 minutes to get picked up from the airport to go to the station. I called after 30 minutes and it still took an additional 15 minutes after that and it was only 1 mile away. They also initially tried to charge me more than my quote online. Car was fine but very little organization to the entire place.

Pros: No cancellation fee.
Cons: 1) Took over an hour to pick up the car. Understaffed and it seems changing policies takes a long time to explain to every single customer.
2) Didn't get the vehicle (compact car) I reserved. Tried to give me an F-150, which leads me to...
3) Made me pay $43 extra, with discounts, to get what I reserved. Was informed that me taking that car meant someone later wasn't going to get what they reserved either. Manage your inventory more wisely. Don't end up with a boatload of giant trucks to rent visitors. Get real!
4) Interior of car was dirty and a very dirty windshield to the point it was difficult to see out of. Little care taken in this department.
4) Came to drop it off and no place to park, or even drive, in the lot. After trying to maneuver into tight spots to temporarily park, I had a staff person drive it so I wasn't the one charged with damage.
Pay the extra $10 and get a rental from the airport vendors or more reputable vendor in general. Not worth the fine print, the hassle, or the money.

Worst experience in years.
Pros: Car was fine. Shuttle driver helpful.
Cons: Hidden charges, outrageous extra charge for wife to drive ($11 a day!). Slow, inefficient counter service, materials (including map that I had to argue for) did not show either address or return information to rental site (old address was actually blacked out.) Car delivered had 1/2 tank gas, but paperwork said full.

Cons: There is only one person to work the phones and the line. I was told 2 times they would call me back because they had people in line when my car was broken down. Took over 2 hours to finally speak to someone. I will not be back.

Pros: car was fine.
Cons: The business had no concern for me as the customer. Poor, fake attitudes. Stood in line for 30 minutes. Didn't disclose the deposit and insurance requirement until I was there to pick up car and pay for it. At that point, my weekend got cut short because all of my money was tied up in the deposit hold on my account. I will never rent from this company again.

Pros: The lone employee was very professional and courteous and made sure I received a car in the class for which I had reserved.
Cons: There was a long wait at the counter during pick-up as only 1 employee was present. We were told the other employee(s) was on break.

Frustrated but at peace
Pros: The people at the Hertz rental office were really nice and helpful.
Cons: Kayak should specify that this rental location is NOT at the airport. We had to pay over $20 for a taxi to this Hertz location. There is a Hertz counter at the airport and we weren't able to utilize them. It was a little frustrating.

Pros: Hertz's customer service over the phone was very accommodating. I was able to switch dates and location with ease and no extra cost or the change. I drove the vehicle for 430 some miles (7 hours) and only needed to fill the gas tank on return.
Cons: The vehicle tended to bear to the right a bit when driving, but I think a quick check to the vehicle would fix it. It also had 33,000 miles on it. Nothing to do with Hertz, but when you book with Kayak, they should include insurance options, so you are not too surprised when you pick up the car.

Great start but bumpy end
Pros: The car had bluetooth and decent gas mileage (Toyota Corolla) and I was able to book the rental the night before after a canceled flight with no problems.
Cons: The attendant for Hertz at Reagan airport wouldn't allow me the option to leave and fill up the car tank. When I asked her how much it was for having Hertz fill up the tank, she ran my credit card, handed me the receipt and told me $9.99/ per gallon and said its too late to fill it up myself since she already charged me.
I was able to call Hertz's 800 number and receive a "one time courtesy" refund for part of the charge which totaled $50.
Cons: Thought I was booking a Ford but got a Kia. Ugliest color in their fleet.

Pros: The care was nice to drive and very tech
Cons: I did not like that i had to sit and wait for 30 minutes after the time I booked the car to be picked up. I missed a work meeting and it really messed up my day, as I had it very well planned out. I expected better from Budget. They the inside of the car was not very well cleaned but I had no time to make an issue about as I was already late.
I wish I could get compensated in some way as I do rent cars for work throughout the year and was expecting something a little smoother in terms of a nice, clean vehicle that was there at the time of pick up that i requested.

Cons: The car smelled like stale smoke and I found $100 for a one-day rental to be excessively expensive.

Pros: the whole process was easy and the associate I worked with were very kind. This was a one way rental and I really appreciated not being charged an exorbitant fee for dropping the car at a different location.
Cons: The car only had half a tank of gas when I picked it up.

Pros: The rep at the Sears was very nice and the car was fine. I did not like the fact Kayak booked a car at what appears to be charleston airport and when you land , it is 20 min away
Cons: The car rented was NOT at the charleston airport when I landed. It was at a mall inside a Sears garage shop. I had to take a taxi to get there, It was awful, I asked for a manager at the airport and it took too long and they could not locate a manager in the end. I was NOT happy with Kayak
Cons: The Charleston Alamo closes at 2pm but this was not indicated anywhere on the reservation, so I wasn't able to get my car. It never occurred to me to check the hours of a business on a weekday afternoon.

Quick and easy!
Pros: First place I've ever rented from where it didn't take me 15+ minutes to get a car. Very quick process to get the car and it was so much more affordable than everywhere else. Car was clean and ready to go. No wating.
