During pick up I thought I was attending a circus act! Very unorganized and uncaring group of workers. The lady at the front desk was excellent but the experience after that was chaotic! It took one and a half hrs.to finally get the vehicle we ordered two months earlier. They had the four of us outside standing in a windy cold morning telling us every 10 minutes that the car would be ready in 10 minutes. No bathroom and no place to sit. Very unprofessional!

I feel ripped off. The daily price of the rental didn’t reflect the actual price, especially when you factor in insurance. I don’t recall insurance being an option to purchase in advance and had I known how much it would cost, I would’ve budgeted for the trip differently. After this experience, I will advise people against Kayak and Budget when renting vehicles.

I was not made aware that insurance was mandatory to rent the vehicle and that my only other option would be to put the entire cost of a vehicle on my credit card. This seems like a bait & switch model. It’s shameful to wait until someone is in a foreign country to force an insurance plan on them. I understand placing an ordinary hold of a few thousand dollars for uninsured vehicles incase they cause any external damage, but to tell me it’s either “buy the insurance or we put a 35000 euro hold on your credit card” is ridiculous. Most people don’t even have that kind of credit line available so it was basically extortion. I will NEVER rent through budget again.

Pick up what a s*** show, it took nearly two hours, despite early check in and pre reservations. After being talked into an upgrade and quadrupling our original price, we set off! Three hours into the drive we broke down, waited over two hours for roadside assistance in the middle of nowhere with a 4 month old baby, and eventually were told to taxi to our accommodations and that a car would be dropped off to us in the morning. Our accommodations had no potable water, and no cell service. We picked up enough groceries for dinner and breakfast the next morning. After hours back and forth of staff denying that they ever said they would drop us off a car and that we needed to cab to the nearest depot (they couldn’t even book us this cab because we were staying rurally, and again, we had 0 cell service), they finally agreed to drop us off a car. In the end, we went over 24 hours with no vehicle, and 12 without water and food due to Europcar’s negligence. The car they brought us didn’t fit our luggage (the reason we had upgraded was so that our car fit our luggage, and had no GPS (another feature of the original upgrade). Never booking with Europcar again! I highly advise against.

Charged excess fees that weren’t explained up front. Forced to buy insurance, again, if I had known up front it was a requirement I would have been fine with it. Staff was fake-nice, while continually stating I was either misunderstanding what was originally said, or just plain incorrect/making things up. Let’s face it, we all know the bar starts low rental car companies, but I’ll never use Keddy/Eurocar again.

The location for Sixt for the dropoff location was incorrect in both Google Maps and Apple Maps. The phone number listed on google also did not work. It took 45 minutes to find the correct location
