Stupid enterprise called me less than 24 hours before we were supposed to leave for our vacation to inform us that they did not have the vehicle that we reserved. Had to borrow a friend's extra car because no one else had a rental on short notice.

We were unable to pick up our rental as it was not actually available through Budget. The link between Kayak and Budget is not ideal as there is lack of awareness or ownership on either side related to actual vehicle availability.

Rented a car online, went to pick it up across town and was told by an extremely rude agent at the Walmart in Ft Collins Colorado that there were no cars and it only allowed my reservation due to a “glitch” in the system. The agent then belittled me for making my reservation that day saying I should have reserved it sooner. I will never rent from Budget or Avis again. Their employees need to be trained and some terminated.

Cons:

Car was not ready to be driven. Oil change was past due kept getting messages the entire trip that it was past due. The air in the tires was 27, 30, 45 and 39 which is ridiculous obviously NO ONE did a review of the car before I picked it up. I had to pull over twice to get the tire pressure correct and from the time I left the oil change light was on. In addition the windows on the inside were not cleaned and therefore caused issued with night vision. I give you an F on preparation, worst condition of any rental car I have ever driven

They wouldn’t rent me a car after booking and providing my card info, because my license is out of state. I was stuck 4 hours away from home for the whole night.

It took too long to get the vehicle. We were given something other than what is on the paperwork given to us by Avis employee…..that he has me sign. The paperwork stated a Chevrolet Equinox and we were given a Toyota 4Runner that had expired license tag. I also asked to have the option of paying for a tank of gas at the time of rental so as not to worry upon return and that did not happen.

The desk is inside Walmart and you park the vehicle on the side and walk around. Not very convenient. Checking out was OK but checking in was time consuming. The desk staff said he hadn't worked there for a while and wanted to run my card again. I didn't want to be charged twice so I asked him to check with someone. Also, he didn't check to see if there were any dents or scratches. I had to ask him to record the mileage and confirm that the tank was full. So we'll try to rent from a different company next time.

This Hertz location is understaffed. There is one person that has to clean the vehicles, greet incoming customers, answer the phone (constantly) and greet customers dropping off cars. The location is a mess (literally) and the poor employee is running their butt off to try to do everything. I waited along with three others for over 30 minutes to drop off a vehicle because there was nobody at the desk. The vehicle was very dirty inside and out. Come on Hertz! Staff and organize your locations so your customers can have a good experience and want to come back.
