10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Such an amazing place. It is truly mind blowing, situated in an incredible village. The rooms are awe inspiring, the owner is a true gentleman, the property has been in his family for 8 generations and the history is fascinating. The dinner was beautiful, and everyone so friendly here. We loved this place and would love to return one day.
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Loved the personal touch and the wonderful local cuisine.
Cons: They need to spruce up the place a bit.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We were charmed by our host, the royal family of Mahansar who owns the property. They gave us an insight into the history of the castle and the erstwhile princely state. The antiquated castle has a rustic charm of it's own. The nearby temple and 'Sone Chandi ke Dukan' built by a wealthy trader are also worth a visit. The rooms at the castle are spacious and the food was delicious. We enjoyed our stay at Narayan Niwas castle.
Cons: There was no running hot water in the standard room as yet. However, the staff provided us with hot water in buckets as required.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the building. Authentic and imposing structure. We felt that we had been taken back in time it was truly breathtaking and we loved the whole experience. I would stay here again. We were lucky to be the only group of 4 so we felt it was our own special place.
Cons: If I was to be picky which I'm not I would have to say breakfast. I love Indian food and was surprised to be served a western style breakfast. Our request for Indian food for our second breakfast was granted so all was forgiven. I can understand though that many western travellers struggle with the food in India and lack of other than Indian can be an issue for some but that's not me and I would suggest asking what the preference for food is rather than assuming a continental breakfast is required.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The unique setting of the rooms in a 300 year old castle; the dinner, the hosts
7.1 Good
Pros: Special adventure to stay in a 300 years old palace. Everything is very old, tries to be good maintained, but needs more money to make it look appealing. The owner is very nice, the food is cooked by them and is very delicious. Overall nice and interesting stay.
Cons: Fans in the room very loud and uncomfortable. You can pay only with cash.
7.9 Good
Pros: The ambience.
Cons: Þhe approach road was difficult as it is being rebuilt.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: LOCATION - in the middle of nowhere, this was an ideal place to stay and recharge our physical and sensory batteries at the end of our stay in Rajasthan and before we headed back to Delhi for our flights back home.....Very quiet and peaceful. Slept like a log! (with lots of REM's and deep sleep patterns registered on my FitBit ;-). CASTLE - steeped in history and a bit tired looking which is now in need of continuous and unsustainable maintenance, I suspect...... ROOM - We had the Heritage Suite (I believe they have 2 of them) - it was spacious and well furnished (a bit antiquey - but in keeping with the history of the place). The suite had an outer open courtyard, which led into an inner sanctum of 3 rooms, one leading to the other of which the first 2 were open and connected and the 3rd was a closed off bedroom - (see pics) FOOD - The breakfast was great, and made to order - we were the only guests at the tail end of the "season". The dinners were something special - delicious food, whilst expensive by local standards, worth it as we tasted food we didnt elsewhere - homecooked food beats restaurants any day!! Although we had transport to go elsewhere, we stayed in for dinner for both the nights we were there.... OWNER - The lord of the manor was a softly spoken, kind and gentle man with a great disposition. He offered us good advice on what to see around Ramgarh and although we had done enough sightseeing in the time we spent in India, we took up his offer of a walking tour to see 3 different locations in detail - the guide gave us a good historical perspective. The owner sat with us over meals and it was lovely to hear the history of the place. Made the whole place come alive for me and worth the visit, despite the feeling of sadness and loss of the dwindling heritage properties in and around Ramgarh.
Cons: The place looks like a ruin from the outside (although characterful in some ways!!) and obviously needs continuous maintenenace, amongst other things. But I suspect there is a limit to how much one can do in a heritage property without destroying the fabric of the building.....I loved the place despite this fact, but I mention this point not as a negative, but to manage the expectations of future potential guests.

Pros: Fantastic frescoes! Like living in a museum. My best stay in India
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were big and very clean what is not so common in India. It was cold in December there so a heater, which was in the room, was very helpful. Stuff was very friendly and caring. They had a cultural program in the evening what was also very nice. We came by car. There were no many guests on our date so we could park our car inside the property. However you should check parking possibilities before you came there by car as a parking inside the property looked like only for 2-3 cars.
Cons: Breakfast was served in the restaurant where was quite cold.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: wonderfully restored heritage Hotel. we enjoyed the walk around town
Cons: everything was perfect. very romantic. we stayed in the red room it is beautiful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We spent three wonderful nights and were sad to leave. The photos show a unique haveli hotel but what they do not show is the hotels greatest asset- the staff. Without exception they were warm modest caring and friendly with no ceremony or over attentiveness. There was always a genuine smile from everyone. You must take a heritage tour with The resident guide ( Lal Singh) we never usually have guides but we went with this charming knowledgeable expert, who can take you to places that you would otherwise never see. We went with him every day. The food under the care and guidance of all concerned was a delight at every meal. The garden and the very large lawn was a haven just to see in a desert area. There is a large veranda to enjoy sitting to have meals and enjoy the garden. Overall a fantastic place
3.8 Mediocre

Cons: The worst bathroom .it was totally waste of money
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property, very clean and comfortable. Staff where very knowledgable and informative about the property and area.
