Pros: Very pleasant place to stay. Ian and Sue made us very welcome and were helpful beyond the call of duty!! Lovely room comfy bed- very important.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful owmers
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The welcome. Arriving hot and tired, we were immediately given refreshments and made so welcome. The description on your pages does not do this place justice. Our room was described as "private external bathroom" and we were expecting to have to trot along a corridor. Not so, this room is truly a suite, with separate toilet, bathroom with superb double sink unit and lovely bath with shower over. Bedroom. The whole unit is accessed via your own private door. Moreover, there is a supply of bath salts etc. Bedroom overlooked main road which is quiet and deserted of traffic by 7pm. This was our second night stop on a month`s cycling La Velodyssee, and the accommodation, the breakfast, everything, exceeded anything else which we experienced in other chamber d`hote accommodation. We considered it far too cheap for the services provided. I somehow missed the fact that an evening meal could be booked ahead, so we ate in the only restaurant open which was pretty well next door. It was just ok, and very limited choice, but that`s rural France. I know Sue would have done a lot better! Ian offered to give us a head start the following day by taking our bikes further on in our route. My conversion of kilometers to miles was often out so we found ourselves doing many more miles than planned, in a day. but such generous assistance would have been cheating so we slogged it out and soon got into our stride. What a wonderful gesture, evidence of nothing being too much trouble. Without hesitation, go there!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in Caurel within short distance to the lake. Val and Chris are superb hosts and looked after us well, including welcoming us after our very late arrival. Clean, tidy and comfortable room, with breakfast included in the deal served at a time to suit yourselves in pleasant surroundings.
Cons: We were aware when booking that we had the last available room, which was small but adequate for our short stay. A minor point was that a wardrobe or some hanging rail would have been useful - but this is not a grumble as perhaps the larger rooms are so equipped!
10.0 Excellent

La Ferme de Lintever - Cleguerec - Bedroom
6
9.5 Excellent (38 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Claire is wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable about Brittany in general and the local goings on in particular, always happy to go an extra mile to make your stay even better. The rooms are spacious, bright, squeaky clean. You get the feeling of home stay right away, from the first steps into the farm yard. The breakfasts are worth a separate mention; the variety is awesome, everything is freshly made on the farm (or within 1 km from it), and tastes heavenly. Also, the location; if you want to stay for a while in one spot and explore all of Brittany on daytrips, it doesn't get any more central than than.
Cons: The WiFi signal can get quite weak in the rooms, especially at night for some reason. Downstairs, the signal was always strong.

When you stay at The Originals City, Hôtel du Château, Pontivy (Inter-Hotel) in Pontivy, you'll be steps from Chateau de Rohan. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and an elevator (lift).
7.5 Good
Pros: Availability of free street parking in front of the hotel. Helpfulness of the receptionist, and her thoughtfulness in offering to move us to a higher floor (2nd to 4th) in order to minimise the noise from the renovation of the bar area (of which we knew nothing in advance). Good if small bathroom.
Cons: The location: it is in a drab area on a main road. The room was rather cramped and insufficiently lit, despite which it was good value at 78 euros compared with other hotels.
9.5 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a fantastic hotel. Our room was large with an equally large bathroom. Staff were great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a superb hotel and we had a very comfortable night here. The buffet breakfast was superlative. The hostess was helpful and welcoming - but it was the actual hotel and building which we loved. It still had the elegant charm of a late 19th century town house but was decorated sympathicslky with a modern twist. The bed was the largest we have ever slept in and the decoration, fabrics and comfort level was superb. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Cons: All good and nothing that did not meet, even exceed our expectations.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Old fashioned charm. Extremely comfortable. Well positioned in town. Kind and friendly staff
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Private secure parking
Cons: No restaurant on Saturday night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at this individual older style typically French hotel. The lady owners were extremely friendly and helpful and we and our small dog were made to feel very welcome. Our room was fabulous, huge bed beautiful decor with high ceiling and lovely decorative plaster mouldings, warm, light and airy. Although in the centre of Pontivy, which is great for restaurants, shops and lovely walks along the river, the windows were double glazed so the room was quiet and we enjoyed a good nights sleep. We will most definitely stay here again.
Cons: The WIFI was not working, this could have been due to the weather as there were several heavy rain storms all around (we stayed mid December) We didn't bother to ask at reception about it as we had roaming on our phone so it was not critical for us. It certainly did not affect our stay and I'm sure a solution would have been offered if we'd asked.

Pros: Quiet room. Nice bathroom. Comfy bed. Welcoming and helpful staff.
Cons: The room we had was at the back overlooking the courtyard so was quiet but not that big perhaps if you were staying more than a night or two. Gated car park is securely locked 9pm to 8am so can't leave earlier than 8am in the morning if an early start needed.

Pros: Proprietor showed us to our room - a rarity these days, and was so very friendly! The breakfast was absolutely amazing, with everything we could possibly want. It was the finest little hotel we have ever stayed at! M. also showed us what to see,and how to reach the chateau. We absolutely loved our stay!
Cons: In our view, nothing can be improved!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very well located hotel. It is in an old building but very modern. It has everything you would want for a stay, and more. We had 1 hour free in the spa, which we made use of, and was excellent. The breakfast was excellent and included in our price. It has private parking and the valet parked the car. Although the hotel is on the pricier side, we felt we had excellent value for money and it was worth it, as the service and standard was very high.
Cons: Beware that the sat nav warns you not to go down the road as it is for buses and taxis! However, we went down it with no problems, and the hotel then park your car for you.

It offers reasonably priced rooms for 1, 2, 3 or 4 people with private shower and toilet. 8.3 Excellent
Pros: Simple basic room, comfortable bed.
Cons: It would have been nice to have coffee making facilities
6.8 Good
Pros: Air conditioning was a life saver as there was a heatwave whilst we were there.
Cons: Rooms basic, like student accommodation, but clean and well maintained. But shower is in bedroom, no separate bathroom, so only share with people you don't mind seeing naked!! Breakfast very limited to British eyes, not worth six euros, and restaurant next door didn't open until nearly 7pm and didn't look great. Didn't appreciate that there are two hotels on the same site - Ibis and Ibis Budget. I booked Budget without realising the difference.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice breakfast - helpful receptionist.
Cons: The location of the hotel. Too far out of Pontivy to enjoy the town. If your a tired cyclist or hiker don’t use ibis hotels they are always in a commercial zone several mms out of town- and this one is at the end of a steep climb!
6.3 Good
Cons: Wifi very slow, annoying. Bed very uncomfortable. Shower with low pressure.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient, affordable, clean and quiet with a good breakfast and helpful staff and great restaurant which is convenient next door
Cons: The illuminated light switches built into the headboard were day bright and we had to cover them to get to sleep !
5.8 Okay
Pros: Was as expected for a 2 star. Room very clean if on small side. Bed comfortable, only one pillow and no towels just small pieces of linen like tea towels.
Cons: Sink and shower were actually in the bedroom so little privacy. Separate toilet. On my arrival the receptionist, without looking up or greeting me, raised her finger up to silence me as she was on computer! Completely unacceptable behaviour towards a customer.

Overview Reviews
Located in Bon Repos sur Blavet, BRB - Chambres d'hôtes Abbaye Bon Repos is in a rural location, just a 1-minute walk from L'abbaye Notre Dame de Bon Repos and a 5-minute drive from Lake Guerlédan. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Pros: Stunning building in truly outstanding setting. Lovely area to sit outside with gorgeous views down to the canal. Loved cycling along the nearby canal and visiting the ruined abbey next door (a must). Absolutely loved it and amazing to find a place like this at such a bargain price.
Cons: The reason the price is low is that rooms were converted decades ago and things like bathroom fittings are very dated, also the place is scruffy and something of a work in progress. If you want something modern looking and spotlessly clean you won't like it. Shared fridge, kettle, coffee making etc available for use in kitchen only.
7.0 Good
Pros: Accommodation is in a beautiful setting in attractive outbuildings adjoining the abbaye. Outdoor space is pleasant, adjacent to the chateau and the area used for the annual medieval festival. The Nantes Brest canal runs across the land and there is a small inn nearby. (This does not serve food in the evenings and closed early evening on the night we stayed) The chateau/ abbaye is well worth a visit. Allow plenty of time. There was a spectacular exhibition at the time of our visit. The owner kindly offered to 'rustle up' some food for us if we were unable to find somewhere to eat. In the event we followed his recommendations and found a lovely place, Le Bout du Pont, to eat in the nearby village of Gouarec.
Cons: Whilst appreciating that the accommodation is being refurbished the room was a little basic and was not in a style sympathetic to the architecture of the buildings. Hopefully this will evolve over time. It was quite adequate however for a one night stay Other guests all appeared to be cyclists due to the close proximity of the cycle route along the canal.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The Abbaye de Bon Repos is a peaceful location.
Cons: We booked a room at BrB, Abbaye de Bon Repos, 22570 Laniscat, France. The confirmation stated a Double Room with Private bathroom. Also a kitchenette, refrigerator, seating area, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster, dining table, outdoor furniture and outdoor dining area; none of these facilities were provided. BrB was in the process of being refurbished and looked like a total building site. This meant that expecting all the above facilities, the state of this establishment being re-built (we attach photos to demonstrate) completely spoilt our stay in the Abbaye de Bon Repos (Abbey of Good Rest!!). We were offered a small room with a table and a bathroom. Although Pierre was sympathetic, if BrB were undergoing refurbishment they should have not taken bookings or made this fact clear at the time of booking.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: + Really easy to find, well sign posted. + Grounds and building of Abbey were amazing - compete with ponies/river/woodland. + Old building and features captured the imagination. + Owner was on hand to answer any questions, give local info and resolve any issues. + Slept like a baby. + Lots of hot water.
Cons: + Extensive renovation was underway. Not a problem for me (in fact I loved this aspect), but this needs to be considered by others when booking. + I didn't use wifi, so cannot comment (I didn't ask as there were more exciting things to do, and 3G worked on my phone). + Own transport a must. Fine by me, but maybe not if wishing to sample lovely cidres elsewhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambience, the location beside the Abbey and canal, the rustic bar with stone walls, exposed beams, huge chimney and friendly barman, generous breakfast for modest price.
Cons: The bathrooms are functional but could be updated. However, still excellent for the price. A bit hard to find reception and breakfast room!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This I definitely an unfinished project ! There is a lot of work to be done eg finishing the wall lights and updating the 1960's bathrooms etc Yet the setting is amazing and awesome and the owners are friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back !
Cons: The owners know there is a lot to do to complete the accommodation yet somehow the many faults of Bon Repos add to is charm. We loved it !!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: location
Cons: Unfinished project. Building site!!!Room not complete. curtains and pole on floor. no toiletries. Awful finish to decor. Had booked for two nights. walked away after one. Not even up to hostel standards. Room advertised as having chair and table. not present. only a very tatty shared space in and equally tatty reception.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hosts, felt like we were visiting old friends. Amazing setting. Can’t wait to go back.
Cons: B&b is under renovation. No problem but will be better when finished.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location stunning. The building's are very interesting architecture, and construction methods can be seen from looking at the ruins. Convenient location just off the main route, and near the lake.
Cons: The Booking .com description is misleading. The Hotel element closed down in 2016, so there was no reception and the place was dark and dismal. The entrance porch was covered in bird mess, and the glass door was covered in finger prints and was difficult to open, as it scraped on the stone floor. The room was very basic but clean, but the door lock had no strike plate to lock it effectively. The bathroom was 1970's dark brown and the floor covering was disgusting. There were no toiletries, not even soap or a plastic mug for water. There are no facilites etc in the room as intimated by the Booking .com description, and the one and only kitchen is pretty grim by today's standards. The bar was closed and full of upturned tables and boxes. The nearest open restaurant on a Monday is 5 kms away. Not really a B&B/Hotel in the true sense as the owners concentrate more on the spectaculars and events at the abbey. I was on business so I stuck it out for 2 nights as I had pre-booked.
9.3 Excellent

7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly staff and comfortable room. They even offered us a meal with their family when we first arrived. They were also able to offer a secure storage spot for our bicycles.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hosts
Cons: Nothing really but the breakfast could have been a little better
5.5 Okay
Cons: No one there at breakfast. Communication was hopeless. We needed to go home as an emergency and they were not friendly at all regarding this
7.5 Good
Pros: The Relais is very convenient for cyclists on the Velodyssee route. The hosts are very welcoming and madame speaks good English. The rooms are fairly basic but clean and perfect for an overnight stay. We had a freshly cooked evening meal which was very enjoyable. Breakfast was simple but OK. Would stay again if cycling in this direction.
Cons: The bathroom in our room would benefit from redecoration.
