Cons: Slightly expensive, but worth it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is quiet and serene. It is up on a mountainside and looks down on the beautiful valley. It is away from the touristy city huddle and bustle. Much of their organic food is grown and served.
Cons: There are paths, gardens, fountains and three restaurants onsite. It is a bit pricy but it is secluded and has an elegant luxury. It will be a wonderful addition when they have their spa open.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Actually not much. Although beautiful restored if you can not use the amenities it really has no use. This really was a disappointment
Cons: We had booked this hotel after a week of road trip in tuscany on the way back. On the photos the hotel looked lovely and the only thing we really wanted to do is sit in the garden with a nice glass of wine and relax. We also had a reservation for the restaurant. When we arrived the hotel was busy with the preparation for a big wedding. When we wanted to have a drink in the garden we were told it was not allowed since they were busy with setting up for the wedding. We went to the bar and also there we were told we could only sit outside. We expressed our concerns and after half an hour we were told we could sit in a corner if we really wanted to sit outside. We decided not to since it was really clear we were intruding. If we had known this we would not have booked this hotel. You pay for services you don't get. Since they were also preparing the tables for the wedding dinner we decided to cancel our reservation in the restaurant. We didn't have the idea we would get the needed attention to our diner since they were clearly more preoccupied with the wedding. This cancelation was the best thing we did, we had a lovely diner in Ristorante del Monte. The next day when we checked out when asked how our stay was we told the truth. The gentleman who helped us then acknowledged our concerns and he told us he couldn't do anything now because we already had paid via booking. He would get back to us with an offer on how to make this up. Needless to say that after three weeks we didn't hear anything anymore form them. Very disappointed. It is a beautiful hotel but caters more for business meetings and weddings and is absolutely not suited for romantic couples.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: The road a bit noisy
5.8 Okay
Pros: Property itself was really nicely refurbished. The land surrounding the place was a really welcome feature for our small dog to run and play. Breakfast was nice and had good choice of options. Owners were extremely welcoming!
Cons: The room had a sofabed. Not sure why as there is space for a bed... i have no issue with sofa beds cause for owning one myself. Actually an Italian brand. It can be very confortable. But this one even though with a very thick matress, had an issue with the bedsprings. It was way too soft. my husband and i kept rolling at the center. The other major issue was the metallic noise it kept doing every time one of us would move ... which basically kept awaking us several times at night. Also the room was close to the main entrance therefore easy to be disturbed by the noise of people coming and going. As it is an old building you could hear every noise echoing. Finally the bathroom was definitely lacking lighting specially above the bathroom sink. For such a big bathroom 1 ceiling light is really not enough. We paid 80 euros and think it wasn’t worth this. We think it would probably have been a very nice experience if we stayed in 1 of the flats but the room was definitely a let down.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful recently renovated farm with oozes of charm in a beautiful location.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sylvia and her family including their dog Patto have been very friendly and welcoming , my Boxer dog and I had a brilliant time there although very short
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything to be honest. It was very comfortable indeed. Also very clean. I had driven down with my dog from southern Holland and didn’t arrive until 10pm. The owner asked me straight away if I would like anything to eat & drink & very kindly arranged this forthwith. It is most definitely a dog friendly place & you can tell they genuinely care. Breakfast was good. The bed was huge & very comfortable & the shower was excellent too. Clean towels were supplied. A private place in the middle of a forest & conservation area. Truly beautiful. Wild strawberries growing in abundance, lots of hazelnut & oak trees & mint growing wild. Spring water streams in which I washed my dog after he submerged himself in a mud bath. He absolutely loved roaming through the forest. Very good indeed in fact excellent thank you very much.
Cons: There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

Rooms were cool and well are conditioned. Balcony with view out to pool. Beautiful spacious bathroom in family room. Very helpful and accommodating hosts.
Cons: Mosquitos at the pool.. which owners tried to minimise using plants which repel them. Breakfast room is quite small but functional. Would have liked to see some fresh fruit for breakfast.
Castello Di Pavone - Pavone Canavese - Building
13
8.9 Excellent (934 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Castello di Pavone, you'll be centrally located in Pavone Canavese, within a 15-minute drive of Ivrea Cathedral and Castello d'Ivrea. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.9 Good
Pros: The room was beautiful, The restaurant was fabulous. Excellent food with brilliant service. For Italy it was indeed fantastic value.
Cons: The parking! From the supposedly safe parking (no signs up to say don't leave anything in your car) you have to take many stone steps up into the castle entrance. Definitely a very difficult access. This should be made more clear when booking, Then between 10:00 am and 10:45 am the following morning in broad daylight a crowbar was put through the passenger window and a bag stolen. No working CCTV and how nobody saw or heard the car alarm going off which is a complete mystery to our insurers! We ended up spending the next 4 hours in the car park waiting for police and the rescue truck!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved this beautiful castle!!! The room was really wonderful. Enjoyed the gorgeous ceiling, lovely bathroom with its pretty tiles and monogrammed towels and robes, and window views of the surrounding countryside! The dinner was great and the service fabulous!!!
Cons: Can’t think of a thing— just wish we had more time to enjoy it. Ok; the road up to the castle was a bit tricky and there is a long stairway from the parking lot that we had to tote our luggage up.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: What a find, quite a unique property, we were able to go back in time, really enjoyed the stay and the food was excellent.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Superb location with views to the mountains. We especially enjoyed the evening meal in the restaurant where we ordered the tasting menu. The food was fabulous and the service couldn’t have been better!
Cons: Better signage needed to the castle.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great historic facilities, nice view, fun ambiance. Seemed to have some really cool history.
Cons: Management was “stiff” and less than friendly. For such a historic property we would have expected a tour or explanation beyond a single printed paper. When we asked to see a bit, the working staff was overridden by the manager who preferred for us to stay in our room or a single common area. It wasn’t an issue of being full as it didn’t seem too busy. We hoped for a better experience versus just a nice place to stay. The basic working staff was friendly.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: We were not murdered or robbed during the night.
Cons: Old Air Conditioning on a warm, humid late summer night not working, WiFi not working (of course) in an unbearably cheap-perfume smelling, rotten carpeted, damp room. Yes - it's a castle and old, however I would prefer no renovation or upgrade of an old building at all and sleep on the original straw mattress over what is apparently one that has last time been made during the 80ies. Or, I prefer no coffee at all over a cheap Nescafe for breakfast in the land of the coffee culture. Now combine this with an incompetent, dispassionate and aloof receptionist and there you have a recipe for a guaranteed holiday disaster and bad customer experience. I suggest to the owners to either perform a major upgrade like for example in the exceptional hotel "Nun Assisi Relais & Spa Museum" in Assisi or, for the love of all innocent travelers, fire the receptionist, shut down the hotel and stay just a mediocre restaurant instead.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Castello is a visual feast of architectural detail. Located (as most castles) high up, commanding great views across to the mountains, it's hard to be displeased. Our room was well provided, incredibly comfortable and a pleasure to stay in! Restaurant excellent, menu refreshingly original, silver service well practiced. All staff engaging, efficient & a pleasure to meet. Breakfast is fresh, abundant & completely enjoyable, served in a most interesting room! A tour is provided of the Castello, in Italian, but to be recommended even if you do not understand a word, just to see more of the structure. The passion of my wifes particular guide was evident & simply added to the experience. I am an above knee amputee &, with my particular prosthetic, this brings certain restrictions. The Castello has a large external stairway entrance - for which we were offered assistance navigating & was provided a room requiring no further stairway access. However, the ramps within the Castello are something you have to manage yourself & can be quite challenging. Having said this, the positives make it well worth the effort & we would certainly revisit in the future, one night is simply not enough to absorb this fascinating place.
Cons: Nothing to say. All efforts were made to accommodate our requests.

Pros: Lots of attention to detail - eg plug in mosquito machine, napkins, cushions, soaps, toothbrush holder, two kinds of coffee machine, kettle, good breakfast included, fridge stocked with water, milk and juices, good lighting, lots of storage space, anti slip shower mat.... Large and airy accommodation with comfortable bed and extra pillows. Good off road walking for dogs through back gate. Although we ate in there are lots of restaurants nearby.
Cons: As dogs were allowed a bin for dog waste would have been handy. For two people a second armchair would be nice. 4G available and better than WiFi.

Pros: Location is quite nice
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The attic room that we had was clean, spacious, cooling, and well-supplied for the 4 of us. They accommodated an early check in despite not expecting us at the time, and helped us arrange all our taxis from the airport and to and fro various places. They were very generous with their cookies, pastries, milk, coffee and juice for breakfast. Host was very kind and helpful, and very responsive to emails.
Cons: Could have been clearer in communicating with one of the taxi drivers - we were only informed of the change in route due to road closures, but were not told that this change meant an increased charge of 30 euros! Location also difficult to get to without a car.

Pros: This is a family run vineyard with a B&B on site. The owner was welcoming and gracious. She made sure every one of our needs was met. We had an upstairs room with 2 single beds. The room was large and clean with an nice view of the vines. Breakfast was included in the price and was a typical European breakfast with excellent coffee. Again, the staff were friendly and helpful in the morning. We were on motorcycles and we parked them under a partially covered area that was behind a locked gate. You can also arrange a wine tasting while you're staying at the B&B, but unfortunately we didn't have the time to do that. Would definitely go back and enjoy the wines.
Cons: Nothing
