Hotel grounds. On the spot fried eggs and soft boiled eggs at the breakfast buffet The restaurant service is too impersonal, food too German, i.e, not Spanish enough as not having Spanish ham or real orange juice.
Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is set in a nice park. There was not much choice for food, the pool bar only serving food until 4 p.m. In the evening it was either buffet or eating out.
Everything apart from the below Security side gate key card access to grounds was not secure patio door on room didn't lock No instructions on how to use the safe
Nice large room with pleasant view. The food is very good. Nice atmosphere.
very good restaurant with three hall each with its own buffet and grill place a wide choice quality local and national wine and dish. Open terrace with lake view. Night dinner and early breakfast for gusts leaving hotel from 2.30 a.m. Free parking place outside hotel, wide choice of entertainment programm during day and evening. Swiming pool with bar in the bath room was out of order door lock and ventilation capacity was insufficient
A very good family hotel, with a pleasant athmosphere, good facilities and a good position in a nice city. We will come back as soon as possible. No . Only the beds were too hard
Just returned from a week at the Aparthotel Isla De Cabrera and can truely say that I was not disappointed at all. Picked this hotel after reading the postive reviews of others and have to agreed that this is an excellent hotel for couples or those with children of any age. Lovely quiet resort with great beaches just a 2 min walk from the hotel. Could not fault any aspect of the hotel staff, service or accomadation, and believe me I am one fussy guest ! Also the food was very good with plently of variety to choose from, which was great as our children age 14 and 11 are usually very difficult to please. All in all very relaxing and enjoyable holiday and would happily recommend this hotel.
The quality and choice of both breakfast and dinner was good, and certainly better than we were expecting considering the price. We would recommend this hotel as a base for visiting the local beaches, the two nearest being especially suitable for families. Colonia Sant Jordi will not suit those looking for nightlife.
Good accomodation - clean and in excellent condition. Food - excellent choice and quality, constantly replenised, with little or no queues. Friendly staff. Sufficient loungers and access to all pools. By request the hotel arranged taxi collection at airport so tranfer time was quick.
Choice of swimming pools, easy to find a quiet shady spot at the poolside. short tennis facility. Nice small quiet town and fantastic unspoilt beaches within walking distance.
Very helpful staff. The apartment is big and confortable. The buffet is also very good (I liked the breakfast more than the dinner). Very pleasant for couples with childs.
Very friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner were perfect; great variety. Hotel was used to having children around. Mayority of the guests were people with children or elderly. There was animation every night. Hotel is situated in a small, quiet village. If you´re looking for the nightlife, you shouldn´t be here. If you want to explore the island, a car is recommendable.
Great family place! We had a fantastic time. Hotel staff very cool and great with the kids. Food was good - but not outstanding. The beds were a bit hard, but not unbearable.
Perfect family hotel, nice room, food was fine even for a non buffet person like myself, great pool area. The kids appreciated the table tennis and the billiards.
Good clean room; helpful friendly staff; easy walk to the beach. Terrible, bland food. We were not aware from the website that the hotel is largely German speaking. This in itself is fine but we chose this type of holiday for the children's activities, which were conducted in German and of course most other kids were German-speaking. On a one-to-one basis the Mini-Club staff were great and happy to speak English with our daughter but understandably the group activities (e.g. Mini Disco) were in German to cater for the audience. Not at all surprising considering the clientèle but it would have been nice to know this when booking.
The room was comfortable and clean and had a nice view. We booked a double room but were given two twin beds pushed together. We weren't told that we had to pay on the second day and so assumed we would pay on checkout as with other hotels, we were then locked out of our room on the third day until we paid. Our wallet was in the room and they were hesitant to let us back in the room even though we couldn't pay until we got the wallet. We were then locked out of our room a further two times with no explanation. The majority of people staying at the hotel were German and we were the youngest there by on average 20 years which wasn't bad but just thought it was something I should mention.
The location was very good quiet at night. beautiful views and a lovely pool.
Very well located closed to Es Trenc one of the most beautiful beaches of Majorca. Very nice view on the sea.
The place of the Hotel is second to none, no sand beach but access via "natural pool". Sandy beaches can be reached easily by nice walkaway just on the shore Unfortunately no fridge in the room: we asked at the reception and got one within very short time; The food lacks a bit of variety but is o.k.
Nice rooms and good restaurant. Good location with beatiful walk along the shore to the beaches (15 min). Good pool area and possibility to swim in the sea just outside the hotel. Enertainment in the evenings was poor.
As we were travelling by cycle, overnight storage for our mode of transport was a concern. This hotel has that covered with an excellent bike "garage". The fact that our room had a lovely view of the sea and town was a bonus. The breakfast was also excellent.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Location was excellent. Rooms allocated to us were quite small. Had no refrigerator, but had a cupboard in which a refrigerator had originally been located. Either put back the fridge (much needed) or replace empty cupboard with storage space such as drawers! Quality of evening meals was not fantastic.
position near beaches time for dinner 18.30-21, the should close a bit later (21.30)
Not the best hotel in the world, but superb value for money, and more than adequate, for a quick sunshine break!
Nice central hotel in the small pedestrianised port town of Colonia St Jordi. Clean, with good sized rooms, and a great port facing bar/lounge. Good value for money. This hotel is in a great position in the middle of the town area, whilst most of the competitors are way away in a resort zone. Within walking distance (20 mins) of the brilliant Es Trenc beach. Don't really enjoy mass catering, but they did their best.
The staff were eccelent, smiling and wellcoming in all matters. A little bit old fachend, but lovely Television set from the 60 with a bad signal is not good anough in 2010.
The location was perfect. The food was awful.
The hotel was centrally located ,friendly staff , value for money The food was not up to standard, i know it was only a three star hotel but nevertheless the food did not seemed to be fresh, especially breakfast.
the staff was incredibly nice and helped us with recommendations for day trips etc, and they were all super friendly all the time
locality, clean. Food was good and staff friendly
The amenities in the hotel were very good. Our room was quiet which was what we wanted and the beach and bars were only five minutes away. The pool area for the hotel was sometimes very noisy with children from the Aparthotel.
great effort, excellent service
A new hotel with friendly staff and a nice balance of the old traditional buildings merged with new facilties and comtemporary styling. In an unspoilt part of the island.
A beautiful setting luxurious and very peaceful. The rooms were lovely and really appreciated the air conditioning
Breakfast excellent.Very beautiful premises and grounds. Waiters, cleaning staff and night porter all very helpful. Secure parking. Overall reasonably good value. Almost a complete shut down after midnight, no real bar as such. In general staff had poor english and we felt the hotel was geared more for the continental europeans with little consideration towards english speaking guests. Bedroom could do with a decent mirror for the vain amongst us.Toiletries were a little scarce and we had to ask for same more than once. No instruction booklet of any description in the bedroom regarding hotel facilities, locality not even information on "How to use the internal phone". All little things that could easily be rectified.
I a wonderful retreat to rest, wine and dine. the village also houses two of my favorite restaurants on the island at 1min walking from the hotel
People working there are lovely; the hotel is a completely renewed old big house, with wonderful furniure in the common areas, a very nice garden and a swimming pool with a view on the church of the small village. There is a private parking (without charges) for the cars. Breakfast is delicious, with savoury and sweet food, and a lot of fruit. The beach "es trenc" (8 km far from the hotel) is gorgeous. In the room you can even prepare a cup of coffee or of tee with a kattle. A couple of details should be improved: for example, in the lovely shower cabin there are no shelves to put the Shampoo; there is no possibility to indicate taht you do not want to be disturbed in your room or that you want it to be cleand; you have to ask the reception for all the information you need instead of receiving in your room a folder with information about the beaches, the restaurants and the tourist attractions of the region. It's better to avoid having breakfast at the same time as groups that might spent a couple of day in the hotel for a professional course.
Hotel just restored and very nice. Garden and swimming pool. Room cleaning. Bike rental. Good breakfast. Staff absolutely incompetent. Receptionists unfriendly and rude, they don't speak english, just german. Waiters are slow and I had to ask many times to get something. Beware room 201: no window in the bed room!! And small small closet. In the night beetween 29th and 30th of Aug there was a party with loud music in the city until 4.30 in the morning and we couldn't sleep!!! The staff didn't advise about this and they didn't give us a discount for that. absurd. The bath is opened: very easy to wet the floor,no toilet brush (why??), no soap changing in 7 days! I thought it was a 4 stars hotel. In the end good structure but dreadful service
The room was super and the pool is great. The village location. Staff only speak german and are unable to understand requests for service in English. Hotel is not for British as completely a German clientel.
Fantastic atmosphere and the hospitality as well as the facilities. All are superb.
Hostel is situated directly in city centre and near to the sea (tens of meters). The breakfast was great and you must taste local ice cream and other sweets afternoon. Free wifi is also bonus. The parking is a little bit difficult, but acceptable (free parking 200 m far from hostel).
Friendly atmosphere, good food, central location, ice cream, free use of laptop with wireless internet, sociable fellow guests.
The hotel is immaculate with friendly helpful staff. Great location. Wonderful breakfast with tasteful presentation. None.
Air con in room; good breakfast; speedy room make-up daily; central location. No tv; no fridge in room; some street noise especially at weekends.
Juan and his crew were very helpfull and friendly . Breakfast-buffet tasted very good . Wines served at dinner were very much OK . We had half-pension and appreciated the variation in the food .The bikes we hired at the hotel were of good quality . Good and relaxed atmosphere . We liked it !
Fantastic familly staff, smileys and helpful. Everything is easy at Hostal Colonial. Great breakfast with mallorcan bread.
quiet pace of life friendly service good bar and ice-cream counter No
In particular we appreciated price, location and breakfast (really various and plentiful).
Cleanliness of the room, very kind hosts, friendliness of the hotel staff and their readiness to help, excellent breakfasts!!!, Free use of the hotel laptop for the internet, a supermarket within a walking distance, a good choice of eating places nearby. Noise outside the window (people and cars), lack of a proper balcony/terrace. Not a big problem, though.
The hospitality of the manager and staff was excellent. The breakfast was very good as was the evening meal. The evening meal was very good value for the money compared to the other local resterants. There was no provision for making tea in the bedroom.
the location was excellent everyone was very helpful i would hightly recommend Es Turo for a relaxing break with easy access to beautiful beaches
We liked many aspects but especially the spacious site of the hotel and the fascinating garden We found it a bit difficult to know exactly where the hotel was, as we were travelling westwards from Es Lombards (no visible signposts, in contrast to travelling along the road from Ses Salines )
Beutiful view from pool and restaurant, very nice garden, very tidy and clean. Nice food. They spoke better german than English but we managed witout problem.
Quiet, romantic hotel - rooms are basic but very spacious and nice. Beautiful hotel & surrounding, nice pool area with stunning view. We would go back straight away!
The finca Sa Carrotja is set on beautifully gardened grounds in the sleepy but imminently accessible Ses Salines. It's advisable you have your own car to get there as the town is off the beaten path somewhat but it's very easy to get to ~30minutes from the airport. They have free bikes and it's an easy 15 minute ride to the beaches around Colonia Saint Jordi. The clientele are mostly German but everyone is very friendly. A great place to go to get away from all the crowds of Mallorca yet be close to some of the most beautiful beaches on the whole island.
peace and quiet
