Pros: Excellent place: beautiful grounds, large modern and clean rooms, great host. Recommended for relaxation.
Pros: Extremely clean and comfortable. The owners have taken great thought and care to create a relaxing atmosphere with tasteful decor. The evening dinner was delicious, lovely cuisine, well presented, and all prepared with local produce. Excellent!
Cons: It was no problem for us as we speak some French, but for non-French speakers, there may be a slight difficulty in communication. However, for the adventurous, it is a great place for a stay, overnight or longer.
Pros: Bedroom size and comfort, bathroom - everything new and worked perfectly. Really excellent quality.
Cons: Table de hôte dinner excellent but cuisine surprisingly international - Swiss wine, duck confit from Toulouse (France), Italien cheese (Gorgonzola). All good but lacked local specialities.
Pros: Very warm welcome, breakfast with everyone at a long table, aperitifs in the garden, beautiful room in the castle with ensuite bathroom and separate lounge
Pros: Beautifully renovated house. Very comfortable and lots of common spaces. Good dinner.
Cons: The house cat was too shy for my daughter ;)
Pros: Wow! So stylish, lovely blend of traditional/original (weater mill elements) with new. Gracious hostess, fabulous cooking and spaciosu comfortable room. Highly recommended.
Cons: No sign post on main road (very minor point).

Painting workshops and bike rental are proposed on site. With antique furniture and parquet flooring, each room at Château d'Epenoux is individually decorated and offers a spacious bathroom and a seating area. The apartments also include an equipped kitchen, a living room with TV and a balcony. Homemade jams, cereal, fresh fruits, yoghurts and croissants are served for breakfast at the Epenoux Castle. Guests are invited to take a stroll among the ancient trees of the B&B's garden, read a book or listen to the music in the living room. Lake of Vaivre is 7 km away and Vesoul Train Station is an 11-minute drive away.
Pros: Mario was friendly and helpful. The property was lovely
Pros: A beautiful chateau that was like a home from home. We were welcomed like old friends and, unlike many places, provided with drinks and snacks on arrival. Sitting in the garden, relaxing after a long drive, we felt we had arrived at home. Lovely rooms, spacious and beautifully furnished. Breakfast was set in the dining room. The table was elegantly set, soft music and fresh food, coffee and juice.
Pros: The hosts made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived - it is very rare to meet such genuine and wonderful people. Breakfast in the garden was a bliss. The Chateau is beautiful and we wish we had stayed longer.
Pros: The breakfast at this B&B was top notch with a fresh, delicious offering and attentive service. The grounds around the chateau are beautiful and peaceful. It was rainy during our stay so we weren't able to explore too much but can imagine how lovely it would be in nicer weather when the pool is open. The main house was elegantly decorated and comfortable and the host, Mario, super friendly and helpful.
Cons: We had two rooms, one in the main house and one in a separate building 20m from the main building. The separate room was nice and comfortable but we would have preferred staying in the main house to be closer to the rest of our party and a bit further removed from the road. The chateau is in a very small community but there was a surprising amount of traffic on the road it's on which was more noticeable in the separate apartment. Wi-fi was also pretty limited. You could use it in the main house in the living room, but pretty much nowhere else. Not a big deal for a short stay but something to be aware of if you're making other trip plans while on the road.
Pros: The hospitality of the hosts is outstanding. The room was exquisite. It felt like visiting very welcoming royal relatives.
Pros: A beautiful Château in lovely surroundings. We stayed in the Mona Lisa room which was very large with tasteful decor. Bathroom was also spacious with a good large shower and separate toilet. Bed and room very comfy. Mario & Pascale are so friendly and welcoming and perfect hosts making you feel welcome in their home. We arrived in the rain - wet and tired after a long motorbike journey in the rain. It appears that we hadn’t received the message regarding the restaurant being closed for kitchen refurbishment but Mario & Pascale soon resolved that issue by offering to drive us into town and booking us a table in a lovely local restaurant where food was excellent. They very kindly also brought us back saving us a ride out in our wet motorbike gear. Nothing was too much trouble for them and breakfast was served in the morning on a large banquet table with candelabra. Breakfast was lovely and we felt like royalty. Thank you so much for your warm hospitality.
Cons: That we couldn’t stay longer and spend more time in such a beautiful house and surrounding gardens.
Pros: Absolutely stunning Chateau. Beautifully restored and furnished with style. Lovely bedroom and a very comfortable bed and nice bed linen. Mario and his wife Pascal were totally charming and friendly and told us a lot about the history of the chateau, at our request. They are obviously very proud of it, as well they should be. The restaurant had only opened the day we arrived and we had the most delicious three course dinner in the evening. Had we wanted to use it there is an outdoor swimming pool. There is the most gorgeous little family chapel, a gracious living room for guests to use and lots of free parking. We had a wonderful breakfast served by Mario and their dog Jango is very friendly. A fantastic place and a wonderful stay; just wish we had stayed longer.
Cons: It was all perfect.
Pros: So friendly so charming so comfortable
Pros: Mario meet us a the door to this extraordinary place despite us being late. He showed us to the beautiful Romantic suite. He runs a fine establishment and everything was presented with very thoughtful detail. Unfortunately the restaurant had not opened for the season.A very good breakfast was providing in charming surroundings. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
Cons: Nothing. This place is excellent.
Pros: Everything was perfect. Host was very kind, true gentleman. Hotel was incredibly beautiful. Very comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast. It was a very perfect experience.

Cons: No ensuite
Pros: Lovely clean place Great bed. GREAT breakfast.
Cons: Shared bathroom may be problem to some but not to us. It was clean and tidy
Pros: It is a family owned 'hotel', the owner is very friendly and do are the rest of family members. The room is well decorated although it is a bit smelly when you enter, I guess it has not been used since a while. We have asked for a baby bed which was well arranged. The shared shower room and toilette is also well equiped with everything needed although we are not use to a shared one. Breakfast is also nice. Parking is absolutely safe which was closed inside the garden.
Cons: The room was smelly when entered which I guess it has not been used since while. There are not enough furniture in the room that we could only put everything on the floor.

Pros: Clean, tidy nice staff, central to lots of facilities! Lovely breakfast!
Cons: Staff didn't speak English but they were very helpful and we managed fine!

Pros: Clean and confortable. Breakfast was good value. Hotel easy to find and just off the main road. Quiet despite the proximity of the road.
Cons: Dinner was very disappointing. We had to wait 1 hour 20 minutes for our food to arrive and it was not very hot when we got it. We sat for 45 minutes without either the wine or water we had ordered. The waitress apologised and said our order had been given to another couple who arrived after us and ordered the same dishes. O

Pros: Convenient location on our road trip
Pros: Nothing at all.
Cons: Everything. The building was old and tatty. The public areas were stale and again, tatty. The rooms stank. Mostly of stale cigarette smoke even though they were supposedly non smoking rooms. We complained about the first room we were out in and we moved; the second was a little better, but still poor. The toilets and showers were unpleasant. The bedding had holes in. I nearly left and just sacrificed the price but my daughter and partner were very tired and didn't want to find anywhere else.
