The Econo Lodge hotel in Cortez, Colorado is about nine miles from Mesa Verde National Park. Amenities include a seasonal outdoor heated pool and free continental breakfast. All guest rooms come with 32-inch flat-screen televisions and granite counter tops.
A simple but nice, clean place. I would stay again.
It was just an overnight stay so no dislikes.
It was only 9 miles to Mesa Verde.
Nothing bothered me while I stayed there for a night. I just think that the price was a little too high compare to the condition of the hotel.
Location and that was all
Lots of things. The pool was down for maintenance, the air conditioner leaked into the room, the staff couldn't speak English.
Microwave, frig and coffee in room
Nice sized room with a desk. Adequate for my needs.
Charged me for incidentals after I left town with no explanation. Te bathtub/shower floor was warped and squeaked when I stepped on it .. didn't bother me, but must have been a nightmare for those in the room below me.
You could see on the wall around the door that someone had tried to break the door down. Cob webs around the bottom of the window in the bathroom. The door knob to the bathroom was falling off. One of the two light bulbs above the sink was burned out.
Brand new matresses, no bedbugs.
All the juices were more water than juice. Waffle batter was empty and was not replaced despite heavy flow of customers. No fruit. Receptionist smelt of beer at check-in around midnight. Was given 2 queen beds instead of 1 king. Curtains wouldn't close.
I got to sleep
Showet took literaly five minutes to warm up. No slip syrips in shower. Breakfast wasnt good.
The breakfast isn't 'deluxe' as they advertise.
the room was spacious
the furniture was shabby, the lamps were tattered/frayed and did not function right, the worst thing was the housekeeping, from 8am until 11 am (check out) they continued to knock at my door, 5 times, each time I opened the door to 'oh, sorry'.
Was clean and convenient
Evening desk clerk did not seem to enjoy checking us in and seemed to dislike a request for extra towels.
The maid came into the room while we were still in bed 2 hours before check out time.
The rooms didn't have microwaves and refrigerators.
The price! It was such a great deal, we were pleseantly surprised with the overall great stay.
A tad outdated, but nothing that would prevent me from staying again. The amenities as far as soap, shampoo/conditioner was definitely less than ideal.
The check is went smoothly, the staff was super friendly
The continental breakfast consisted of cereal, waffles, bagels and pastries. Could have used some eggs or sausage.
The location is convenient to restaurants, amenities, and sight-seeing.
Cleanliness was questionable. There was hair embedded in the washcloth as if it had been used to clean.
In was in a convenient location
The air conditioner did not cool the room, and it was noisey.
Easy access to Mesa Verde and other day trips.
The room we were in was oddly proportioned. The 'bedroom' area was massive, and the furniture didn't fill it all the way, causing it to look off. The bathroom was tiny, and maybe should get some of the square footage from the 'bedroom'.
Location to Four Corners, Mesa Verde NP and Durango was great. Price justified the paper-thin walls.
Could hear person in next room snoring--kept us up.
Noisy. I could hear the water running in other rooms and noise from the parking lot outside.
Great location. Parking is close to rooms. Decent breakfast.
The sink and mirror not located within the bathroom, they are just outside the bathroom door. There was also a roach or large ant in our room.
Location convenient to Mesa Verde and downtown Cortez. Bed was comfortable.
Amenities lacking. Soap crumbled apart after opening, towels thin and nonabsorbent, toilet paper thin and rough, no tissues in room.
Clean and nice
Loud noises during the night from water dropping from their maintance room
We arrived late and the night clerk was extremely friendly and helpful. He's the reason I'm rating the hotel as high as I am. The room was clean.
No hairdyer in room. Breakfast was dry toast w/nothing to put on it, waffles and cheap cold cereal (corn flakes, raisin bran). Juice was watered down and flavorless. A guest politely asked for some jelly for the toast and the clerk snapped 'I'm too busy
They had just put in all new beds. Very comfortable.
Keep your shoes on, carpets extremely dirty.
Very convenient and the beds were comfortable.
Breakfast could be better.
The bed was comfortable.
Outdated, furniture. Horrible comforter - wouldn't touch it. Went across the street to Walmart & bought a clean comforter. There was litter on the ground in front of our room - cigarette butts in front of 'no smoking' sign.
Clean, good location, smelled nice
small shower, breakfast mediocre (no fruit, no fresh waffles)
Good staff. Clean rooms.
Location near curve on highway made it difficult to make left hand turn.
Proximity to Mesa Verde N.P. Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, very reasonably priced.
It seemed the key card would not work after 6:00PM. I had to have it re-activated twice.
Older Motel. Had difficulty using their slow WiFi. Were disappointed with our experience. Went across the street for the 2nd night.
air conditioning did not work staff very unprofessional public area dirty and most unattractive
staff was great. helpful and sent us to a great place for dinner.
Friendly staff. Very helpful.
Missing light bulb and fan cover in bathroom. Female staff member replaced bulb immediately.
Very little, other than across from Walmart and free WiFi, Bkfst, and Parking
Bathroom 6x6, so small that you barely fit on Comode. Air Conditioner leaked into room, inside in front of door wet, room appointments very worn and bed soft. No lobby, access to room is from outside door.
The staff helped me get connected when their wifi didn't work at first.
The room was crappy: Missing security lock on door; the sink had only hot water; the A/C was loud and unreliable; the room stunk of old tobacco, in spite of being posted no-smoking; No screens on the window.
The pool was a dark color and not available for swimming. The check in process was weird. I thought I had prepaid for the room and told this to the clerk. Nonetheless she took my credit card, told me the room would be XXX which is less than I paid
After driving all day this was a very convenient stop on our way to Las Vegas. The price, location and reception we received will make us stay here again and again.
Background: We had planned to stay in a different place in the area, but the OTHER motel in town (no name, of course) was so run-down, I worried about the safety of my family. We showed up at the Econolodge without a reservation and were instantly given a room, even though there was some convention planned for the weekend and they were close to being at capacity. The staff was friendly and sympathetic of our situation. The room was typical of a motel but was adequate for our family's needs; most importantly, we felt safe staying here. The pool area was clean and inviting (inviting, not only for the kids, but for adults as well). The facilities have a family friendly atmosphere. The lobby was clean and the breakfast remained well stocked for the entire duration (there was no limited amount of food are placed out and nothing we wanted ran-out). The place is not necessarily quiet, as it is on the main strip, but it is not overly loud. Recommended for families.
Nothing fancy. Rooms are large, clean, and functional. I'd stay there again.
Staff was very friendly. Carpeting on outside walkway was torn and ripped up throughout entire distance of motel. Bathroom tile was coming up and dangerous to walk on. Spend some money on flooring updates. It is very close to a busy highway and noisy.
