10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Wonderful hosts. The Wagstaff lodge is amazing. Bathroom is gorgeous. Front porch has beautiful views and is a great place to relax. I can't say enough to describe this beautiful place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing! We can't wait to come back
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The cabin was beautifully done with southwestern ambience. The pastoral setting of this working sheep and cattle ranch was beautiful and relaxing. The ranchers let my daughter bottle-feed orphaned lambs. There was a particularly excellent selection of books and a number of great movies. Both ruins and good restaurants were within 25 miles.
Cons: My family members would have liked to spend less time driving back and forth out there. I felt it was well worth it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was so beautiful, so quaint. really lovely!
Cons: It was far from town
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The attention to detail in the Wagstaff cabin is amazing! The heated floors felt wonderful during our March stay. Fresh picked eggs, a local guide to take us on a petroglyph hike, and the friendliest hosts in the world put this place in a category of its own.
Cons: Unfortunately, our son in law was quite ill during our visit, which prevented us from fully embracing all of the opportunities to enjoy the property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Words cannot adequately describe what an amazing experience staying at Canyon of the Ancients Guest Ranch is. The accommodations, the friendliness of the owners, the way they integrate you and your family into life at the ranch — all outstanding!
Cons: Nothing! It was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a working ranch with a nice range of cabins, houses, etc. to choose from. It's 30 minutes from a town with lots of dining options. It's rustic and fun and the setting is incredible. The owners are wonderful and welcoming. Where else can you bottle feed a lamb or have a different dog sleep on the porch at your feet every day of your visit? They also have a person on staff who is an excellent guide to lesser known attractions in the area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Had a very nice time at the Ranch. It is a great location for exploring the archaeological sites in the area. It is close enough to Cortez for meals etc but not so close for "urban sprawl." Plus it would be just great for hanging out without exploring Mesa Verde and the Canyon of the Ancients. There was a large party gathering from several states for a 50th birthday. Ming and Gary are very welcoming and made us feel quite at ease. Everything shows a great deal of considerate thought that went into the resources and amenities. For instance, the gas grill had a lighter and scrubber laid right next to it to make it easy on the guest. The accommodations are comparable with high end B&Bs in Santa Fe and Taos. Plus whimsical things like the tree lights wrapped around the old saddle and posts for the porch. We also liked the "farm atmosphere" with the lambs bleating, the chickens and dogs running around, the cattle and sheep, the obvious physical presence of ongoing ranch work, and the occasional barn smells. This has been a working cattle ranch for about a hundred years.
Cons: Have to think about that. Hmmm.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The farm fresh eggs were a nice touch, the setting was excellent, so quiet...
Cons: Everything was great. I was a little bummed that I was charge a cleaning fee each night but there was nothing attended to until we left. No one even check in to see what was up.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We will never forget our stay at this ranch. It was really perfect. The ranch, the cabin, the pets... just everything. Ming and Garry took incredible care of us. We got the chance to get to know a real cowboy (Stephen Zicker) and indian woman. It was really hard for us to leave the ranch but we hope we will come back one day…

Pros: The surrounding area was peaceful and calming. The road traffic was not noticeable making the night stay very quiet. The room was clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast was good but a bit heavy on sugar items.

Pros: The staff was very friendly. I did like that it was 100% smoke free since my daughter has asthma. It was in a decent location close to a Walmart if you forgot to pack something

Pros: Total experience
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room.
Cons: Too close to the main road. Why build a hotel where road noise is a problem?? My granddaughter's room was full of roa noise. My room was better as it was in the back of the hotel not facing the road. Road noise is why I would not recommend this hotel.

Pros: Comfy beds, retro decor, friendly and helpful staff. Keurig and kcups in the room. Cute little dinner for breakfast.
Cons: The shower head makes a high pitched noise. Linens were a little stained. Continental breakfast was mostly starches.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A very cute place and i love the old time touches.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was great. It was clean, the beds were comfortable , the breakfast had plenty of good options and there were outdoor activities to do. You can even get your picture with Elvis by an old fashion travel trailer. There is also a larger than life size chess set on the grounds plus plenty of outdoor seating to relax outside.
Cons: There was an overfilled trash can very close to the ice and vending machines for two days.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cute and different. Love breakfast tamales.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the decor and the very friendly staff. Despite the name, Retro Inn, the rooms were modern and comfortable. But the place was decorated with vintage stuff, from the posters on the wall (I was in room 1964 - Beatlemania), to the vintage camping trailer and phone booth by the office. it was great.
Cons: I wish there had been a more comfortable chair in the room....I don't like hanging out on the bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean Friendly Old Fashioned
Cons: No pool or spa
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very cute decor, comfortable rooms, great for pets. There's also a huge park about 2 blocks away.

Cons: Cell block walls in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unlike other motels, this one has a good vibe, a good personality due to its decors
Cons: Busy road in front
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Retro Inn was quirky and fun, but also spotlessly clean. The breakfast selection was pretty extensive relative to my hotel experience. There were many fun amenities for the family to sit down and stay for a while.
Cons: The lighting in the room could have been brighter.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, quiet, and a comfortable bed. Retro breakfast area is fun. Games for the kids to play and a giant chess set outside.
9.3 Excellent
Cons: My only complaint would be the internet. It needs to be stronger. My room was in the back and the reception was spotty.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very basic motel. But super clean and friendly staff.
Cons: Very small bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had to call to let them know we would be late checking in as the office closes at 9pm. The lady I talked to asked that I call from the room when I arrived. There was a note welcoming us and stating that they rest better when they know their guests have arrived. This is an older motel but very comfortable and clean and the staff are very nice. I will definitely stay again when I come back to the area.
Cons: Wish I could have stayed longer!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and clean
6.0 Good
Pros: very clean

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff! Very helpful and nice!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean place. Friendly people
7.5 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff
Cons: The room was tiny and the AC made weird noises. The hotel smelled of cigarettes in spite of being very clean. That’s a smell that is really hard to get ride of. The bed was equivalent to a hide-a-bed.
9.3 Excellent
Cons: the hospitality was amazing, excellent tips on the activities in Cortez, dinner options and so on... this is a real gem!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable bed, coffee maker, and the sweetest lady at the front desk. She gave me the lowdown on the entire town - things to do, places to eat, local events. I like that I had a physical key (not a card). Even though it's right on the main road, it was quiet and I had no noise issues with other guests.
Cons: Honestly, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this place. It's not a resort and there's no breakfast, so don't expect that at this price point. That would be the "worst" part of my experience. The surge protector I used to plug my cell into had a loose connection, but still charged my phone.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean place, friendly staff, location convenient. Our kids were impressed the rooms had actual keys and not cards.
Cons: Nothing—-great stay

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely swimming pool. Clean rooms. Comfy beds. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Good location for walking to restaurants. Breakfast was freshly prepared, great!
Cons: Bathroom a little small but I guess because it’s an older property. But v clean!
6.0 Good
Pros: Front staff person
Cons: Single woman traveling alone. I was in room 101. I was a little uncomfortable. I've stayed here several times and never felt that, way. Too much going on right there next to to front door and machines.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Grounds were well kept.
Cons: Cleaning staff left something to be desired. One day they only made one bed and not the other.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great room for our group. Wonderful Breakfast. Great Location in town.
Cons: Outdoor pool wasn't heated....so the water was quite chilly! The plugs to charge things weren't located very well in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the staff to the rooms . Everything
6.3 Good
Pros: Room size was nice. furniture was fine. outside pool had no water. I understand it was behind schedule due to bad weather. But room smelled bad, dirty carpet I think. Its an older hotel. Staff was very friendly though. It seems to be a hotel some road crews stay at, so every morning at 4:30 am they left making a ton of noise.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We LOVED the breakfast. We loved our suite. My daughter LOVED her pull out sofa bad, and the pack and play also fit just fine in the room. Since we were traveling lots, it was nice to have the downstairs eating area for us to use our coolers. And in a last minute snafoo, we needed to use the grill in the courtyard to grill chicken that we didn't realize we hadn't grilled before, but it was no big deal after we asked the front desk. The pools were great. My kids especially loved the large hot tub. Grocery store across the street was handy.
Cons: The first night the hot tub was only mildly warm (which was fine for our family), but I think several people were thinking it was supposed to be warmer. We didn't know any different since this was our first night staying (we stayed 2 nights). The next morning it was definitely hot. The pool towels were quite small. No elevator which made hauling suitcases and coolers up to the first floor with little kids a bit tricky. But those were minor thins for us.
5.0 Okay
Pros: staff noce
Cons: Strong smell of cleaning supplies in the room. Cleaning staff needs to use less
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Without requesting it, we were upgraded to a suite by the manager as he was concerned about the noise from a very large group that had just checked in. All staff were very outgoing and friendly .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great value for money, upgraded to a suite, close to Mesa Verde national park.
Cons: none
5.0 Okay
Cons: Overpriced for a best western. Was expecting way more for $----!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: beautiful setting with so many hiking trails to suit anyone. Breakfast was always delicious!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great Breakfast!!
Cons: The weather!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious quarters, well-furnished kitchen, views of Sleeping Ute, care in highlighting the ruins, modesty about all they offered.
Cons: Nothing, no grumbles.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our accommodations were comfortable and in a beautiful canyon surrounded by ancestral Puebloan artifacts and architecture. Really a lovely spot. Cell phone service and internet is hard to come by, but to us that just added to the charm. We were able to unplug a little bit. Our hosts were wonderful and the breakfast was amazing.
Cons: All the literature, the website and brochures say no pets, yet our neighbor camping in a trailer had three large breed dogs. They kept to themselves okay, but dogs are not compatible with maintaining culturally sensitive sites such as this. Phooey on them. The owners are attempting to be good stewards of the place; likewise, all of us need to participate in kind.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked that you could explore and hike around the ruins. Amazing sites to see.
Cons: The beds were a bit hard, but some people like that. Overall it was truly great!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Having 600-900 AD Pueblo ruins on the property was something we didn't expect. It was fabulous!! The breakfast were better than we often experience. Lots of hiking available. We had some fabulous food in Cortez itself including one of the best Thai restaurants ever.
Cons: Nothing to complain about
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It backs right up to the canyons and has excellent hiking right from there with ruins and very private
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We loved this place. The garden and grounds were so beautiful. Met new friends, experienced native American culture first hand. This is a great place to relax explore and reflect on life. We needed a place to relax and clear our minds as we make a very important and difficult business decision. We hope to return again.
Cons: The only thing we could possibly find that we didn't like about Kelly's Place was the beds are VERY hard and the pillow's were Very hard also. Even with the slight cool breeze coming through the open window and the light rain dripping through the trees sound,We couldn't sleep and our backs were killing us. We could never sleep on the beds again. On our next visit if the beds are the same we will sleep on the floor. LOL Thanks for this experience and the personal time I had with my wife.

Pros: The bed was large and comfortable, there is a lot of space in the room.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed here before and always enjoyed the grounds with all the flowers, the outside patio, and the pool. The rooms are clean and spacious.
Cons: The pool area has been resurfaced with a very rough and (may I say ugly) type of material that we did not like. The old paint may have been too slippery but this new coating is not an improvement.

8.0 Excellent
Cons: The room was much smaller than expected, and the shower was very small.
4.8 Okay
Pros: Very tight in the room, no place to hang towels. Check-in and check-out staff overworked (not enough staff). Dinner experience terrible - didn't mind waiting to be seated but then numerous people who came in and ordered after us were received their food before we did. Not sure we would ever have gotten it if we had not asked. And we were never checked on or asked about anything.
Cons: Dining experience. They could offer breakfast of some kind. They have fruit (apples and oranges) that ran out early and juice that was mostly melted ice.

Pros: Super heated pool with hot tub, good WIFI in room, breakfast was over the average compared to other Days Inn , just missing scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns. No pancakes as well, but waffles. There's a Dennys restaurant across the road and a pizza place next door to hotel. Mesa Verde is a maximum 15 min drive from hotel.
Cons: I would only say that the parking lot is a bit "narrow" for bigger cars. Due to high season, as usual, overpriced rates....but we knew it wouldn't be cheap in August.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to Mesa Verde park and very quiet surroundings.
9.4 Excellent

Cons: The building is dated but the decorations and linens have been updated.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: WiFi was not working for a day. Would have been bad if I was working. Maintenance cut the grass around the pool area and didn't clean the grass clippings out of the water.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The Receptionist was super nice and very accommodating (Indonesian, came from New Hampshire). He was the receptionist today, Aug 7, around 5-9pm.
Cons: The rooms are dirty, moldy smelling, and there’s a lot of stains in the carpet. Rooms that were the dirtiest are 228, 327, 324.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room is spotless. Nice decoration. Nice toiletries. There is a Keurig in the room with many choices of coffee and or teas View is fabulous. Has a free shuttle to downtown plaza central.
Cons: We planned our day to get back to the hotel to use the pool, it was about 9:20 and was supposed to be open until 10 but it was closed. When asked, they said that there was nobody else in the pool so thats why they closed earlier?? Although the hotel is nice, at this price you get nice hotels with breaksfadt included, but not this one. There is a restsurant and for an additional charge you can order a breaksfast but it doesn't open until after 7 am so we had to leave wihout breaksfadt. Front desk should have extra person by check in/ check out time.

4.3 Okay
Pros: The linens, though skimpy, were clean. TV was decent.
Cons: Room was very warm and stuffy. Could not get rid of that old motel smell. Fixtures in the bathroom were very old, stained and in disrepair. The mattresses were awful. There weren’t enough outlets. Toilet almost overflowed. No shower head.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean friendly staff free coffee and ice
Cons: No
8.2 Excellent
Pros: If you like 50's era retro motels you will love this - large rooms with separate dressing area and separate bathrooms. Not your chain hotel at all. Our room had a strange noise that we could not identify so they put us in a second room with no noise. Seems the first room's phone was off the hook slightly which caused a high pitched noise. Staff was excellent and recommended wonderful restaurant not too far away. We had a microwave and fridge in our room also. Both rooms were clean and comfy.
Cons: No coffee in room, only available in the office which does not open until 8 am. But there is a Giant gas station with a wonderful coffee bar just down the street.

Pros: Although the lodge is an older facility, it was nice and clean and served our needs for our overnight stay. The beds are pretty firm, but pillows were great. There was no coffeemaker in the room for my morning coffee, but the desk clerk said they are in the process of adding them.
Cons: Air conditioner kept shutting on and off and was kind of noisy.

7.0 Good
Pros: You can walk to everything that you need.
Cons: For the price you can get a better breakfast. The room felt like you were in a box. The vent system in the bathroom did nothing at all, so mold was starting to form.
7.5 Good
Pros: Ease of check in/out.
Cons: The size of the room.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Don't let the pictures fool you, the rooms are small and finishes are cheapo. The bathroom was full of places for water intrusion into the walls and floor. Being on the third floor, I felt sorry for the mold the second floor people likely had.
7.5 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable

Cons: fully satisfied...
4.5 Okay
Pros: The rooms were newly furnished, clean and comfortable
Cons: FRAUD WARNING: On check-in they charged 20$ more than the rate agreed via booking.com. Just seconds before I got the receipt and noticed the higher rate, the money was taken from my credit card. When I asked about the price difference they promised it would be a mistake and that I would get a refund on my card at check-out. I am still waiting for my money! The hotel does not react on any emails, so now I have to talk to my bank and file a chargeback. Be careful if you plan to stay there!

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: It was nearly impossible to find anything i liked.
Cons: The beds were dirty, there were bugs under the bed and around the room. The floor was covered in dirt and the room smelled like pee when coming into the room. The "complimentary" breakfast offered was a joke, there was only coffee, and cereal. Nothing else. The walls were dirty, and the staff were very rude. Upon purchasing my room, the guy rudely tells me how he has no rooms for pets or smoking rooms available when i already reserved a room online thru booking.com. he also follows me to my truck, checking on the number of people i came with and telling us reasons why cops would pull us over, and talking about india to me. He was being very rude about native americans, and the reservation. My girlfriend and i did not like that at all, we are navajo. He constantly tried raising the price on me, making me pay more than what i was originally suppose to pay thru booking.com, he was haggling every dollar he could out of me. i would never stay here again. I wanted my refund but they wouldnt give it to me. So i was forced to stay here. It was hot in the room cuz the ac wasnt working. I had a horrible stay here.... Dont stay here. Use your money on someplace better

Pros: Clean friendly and quiet
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: It was filthy! Pubic hairs in bed and dirty sheets and towels. The room stank of mildew and mold. The owner was a jerk from the moment we drove on the property. I wanted to cancel and find another room somewhere else, but the owner would not allow.. no refunds. The place is horrible... $170 ... don’t stay here.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Big room with microwave and fridge, nice and helpful owner, free big breakfast, good wifi and position, everything working well, very cheap. We are crossing USA by bicycle and we had the perfect stop here.
Cons: None
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The bed was fairly comfortable.
Cons: No table or chair to sit at. You could see daylight around the air conditioner. Lack of 3 prong outlets. Found a long dark hair in the bed.
6.3 Good
Pros: Other than the price I can't think of anything I liked about this hotel, it decidedly wasn't up to my personal standards
Cons: Routine maintenance was very poor here, the door barely would close. The microwave was a complete afterthought and wasn't plugged in, not that there was an available plug within a reachable distance anyway. The switch controlling the light over the sink was hidden behind the non functioning microwave like I was supposed to know that.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Lack of electrical outlets
