Pros: Very friendly staff & comfortable surroundings - would recommend
Pros: Warm welcome, good quality room with freeview tv and very comfortable bed.Welsh cakes[biscuits] a nice touch.
Cons: Ground floor rooms directly by car park so had to pull curtains for privacy - no nets/blinds for screening. No greeting in the restaurant so had to wait to attract attention to order.Restaurant "system" for ordering not explained ie order drinks at the bar and food at the table.
Pros: Excellent welcome, beautiful room and wonderful breakfast
Cons: Tad too close to the M4, some road noise as a result
Pros: The friendly attitude of staff along with super food
Cons: nothing particular
Pros: The modern room was warm, the bed comfortable, the bathroom facilities were good too and the staff pleasant
Cons: The pub/restaurant area seemed like a different place, unimaginative decor and a breakfast chef that liked cooking on a dirty griddle.
Pros: We thought it was good value for money, well located for touring Newport/Cardiff area, with particularly meals
Cons: Nothing to say
Pros: Pleasant and helpful staff, good facilities and food, enjoyed our overnight stay
Cons: Wash basin tap in our room difficult to operate - needs silica grease to make easier to control. Bathroom extract fan noisy and long running - suggest shorten timer run time

Cons: No internet or tv first night. was fixed by morning. Related to electricity work possibly.
Pros: Very clean and tidy
Cons: Room was very warm even with the fan on

Pros: The staff were all first class, friendly and efficient.
Cons: The tv was getting on a bit.
Pros: Restricted bar menu but food good. Nice open log fire. Pool and leisure facilities very good.
Pros: really enjoyed stay and the pool area was the highlight. Brilliant pool and sauna area.
Cons: The fact that nearly all the desserts were bought in except trifle and crumble.Very surprised that 4 star hotel should serve these. Steak etc lovely.
Pros: Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and positive, from reception staff to housekeeping. The rooms were well appointed, the food was extremely tasty and plentiful and the leisure centre was excellent - our children particularly enjoyed the indoor pool. The hotel even had a couple of singers in the bar on Saturday evening! We wished we could have stayed for longer!
Pros: Very nice pool and spa area. Restaurant offers value for money. Spacious reception area where you can spend a rainy morning with the kids and play a boardgame. However, focus of the hotel rests with pensioners - not with families.
Cons: The music in the restaurant was a bit outdated. Facilities (lounge, rooms) are a bit dated.
Pros: The rooms are nicely appointed, easy parking, a decent breakfast and use of the pool/sauna/etc facilities
Cons: Price of drinks, not much a facility for smokers, poor booking process and staff that had no authority or access to it.
Pros: Very modern clean well kept very plush nothing too much trouble will come back made to feel like a vip cwmbran here we come very soon wales is great this hotel made it better
Pros: Swimming poole and staff at the leisure dept. Was brilliant.
Cons: When checked in I was asked if I wanted a newspaper. I said Sunday Times but never received it. We hadd breakfast room service and it is the first time that I have been charged £5 for this service. My daugther was given a very poor bed and I complained. The duty manager was useless and I had to almost beg for a replacement. This was sort of ok but very thin mattress. The pillows were also poor. Also, it was very noisy during the night a couple of times with poeple chatting and laughing outside our room.
Pros: Clean and tidy
Cons: Food service stopped at 10pm, and only sandwiches until 10.30pm!
Pros: Bar staff were very friendly and helpful, as were the housekeeping staff in the morning. Check-in was very efficient.

Pros: Great choice of where to eat within this large hotel/resort complex, with prices charged not outrageous
Cons: Disappointed in the en-suite bathroom facilities - not really up to expected standard. Requires a make-over with upgrade in shower, addition of a bidet, huge waste of water to get hot taps to run even warm. Also some good housekeeping needed in room, cupboard doors not fitting and housing for in-drawer hairdryer broken and could be hazardous - above comments left with hotel reception on departure.
Pros: The Spa and Gym
Cons: It was full of wedding parties even on the Friday Night, who all appeared unable to control their kids.Stayed in the resort part last time, which was alot better.
Pros: Food was excellent.
Cons: Carrying of suitcases up two flights of stairs.(We are OAP's)
Pros: The company
Cons: Since the Ryder Cup they've become over popular and there is a long wait for most things. Waiting for up to 20 minutes to tee off is not acceptable and tee times should reflex this
Pros: staff/food @ bistro & desk & concierge/door staff. received an upgrade so was delighted at that. That may have been due to my early arrival and time spent at the bar downstairs while waiting for room
Pros: Good experience
Cons: No rooms that can accommodate 3 people
Pros: A/C in room. Two bars of soap
Cons: No lift from ground floor. Expensive food.
Pros: Great staff, good communal areas, rooms well equipped
Cons: Some of the bathroom fittings are looking tired / worn out
Pros: Location of hotel to Cardiff. Cleanliness of room/hotel. Bar/dining area had a very good atmosphere
Pros: Well, priced hotel with good facilities

Pros: The staff were lovely and very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Food in the Bistro part was good with plenty of choice. There is a carpark at the rear of the hotel but we didn't see any signs to indicate this.
Cons: The hotel is situated in a rather 'run-down' area of the docks. Also on a corner so there is traffic noise which couldn't be avoided as we needed the window open.

Pros: Nadia was a superstar in sorting our our room once we'd got to the hotel. There had been a minor mix up in the booking but Nadia provided exemplary customer service and that was very much appreciated. The room was comfy and adequately appointed.
Cons: The postcode takes you to somewhere else on Chepstow Road! so we drove along the road for ages trying to find the hotel. A phone call to the hotel quickly got us parked up in the car park. This isn't a chain hotel but a family run hotel that is growing by good service and reputation.
Pros: I stayed for 3 nights and liked the warm hospitality of the hotel staff. Instead of a welcome drink, I had a welcome tea reception, with hot tea on a cold day and biscuits and cakes. The hotel was brand new and nice. We had a cooked breakfast instead of the continental breakfast as mentioned in the booking sheet which came as a nice surprise and definitely a bonus. The hotel is only about 10min walk from the Newport Railway station, There are also nice kebab and fish and chip shops within 5 min walk away. Newport also has the largest sainsbury in whole of Wales and a taxi ride cost 5pounds from sainsbury back to hotel.
Pros: Staff very friendly
Cons: I would class this as a Bed & Breakfast not a hotel. I paid a high rate for my room as it was during the Ryder Cup, normally I'm sure the room rate is mush lower in line with the standard of the hotel.
Pros: All the staff were so very friendly and accommodated the needs of my disabled father perfectly. Nothin g was too much trouble.
Pros: Good service and gave us breakfast the morning we arrived

All bedrooms have a bathroom with a shower. Guests can also enjoy tea/coffee making facilities in their room. A continental breakfast is served every morning.
Cons: The door on the allocated room didn't close, so the alternative room I was given in the annexe was in desperate need of a refurb and a new mattress.
Pros: Excellent value for money. Spacious rooms.
Cons: Room was over the function room which had a disco on. However staff warned us that it was on and it finished when they said it would.
Pros: Great Hotel, Fantastic Food, great Staff, all in all a top notch hotel
Cons: The Bed was too soft
Pros: Staff very friendly, if problems occured they were there to help straight away. Food in the restaurant was value for money, wide variety. Excellent breakfast.
Pros: Staff were very friendly and room very quiet. Room had everything I wanted / needed. Good Restaurant.
Pros: Friendly staff, great location, good food.
Pros: Attractive main building and grounds; very helpful staff; good food at a reasonable price.
Cons: Cramped bedroom
Pros: Friendly welcome and receptionist met my request for a room in main hotel. Young male in restaurant was vey professional and friendly
Cons: My bedroom was very dusty and hot - decor is dated. Bar area was more like a station waiting room Receptionist on check out was eating her brakfast and did not ask if I had enjoyed my stay Directions to hotel on website could be clearer Your reservations system accepts Amex but hotel does not-this was not made clear at time of booking
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, good food, clean room
Cons: Room quite small, shower over bath under sloping roof limited headroom.
