7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly efficient staff. Fantastic location. Lovely food. Nice to have morning coffee sitting outside.
Cons: The room (15) was extremely hot at night, even with the fan on and windows open; too hot to sleep. Also the shower was very difficult to use and veered between scalding hot and freezing cold. We suggest you provide instructions and lower the hot water temperature.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Food and frendly staff
6.8 Good
Pros: Great central location lots of vibe
Cons: Restaurant was fully booked so couldn’t eat in the hotel even after receiving an email confirming it wouldn’t be a problem. We had to find another restaurant in the town which couldn’t fit us in until late. Room was opposite a very rowdy pub so lots of noise until late.

Cons: - Windows were fixed and closed. Rooms were very hot and stuffy!!! - Room ventilator didn't solve the problem! - Very slow elevators - Car park rules are not really clear. There's an additional charge £5 for overnight stay. - Very loud bathroom fan
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing View was amazing Room was clean smart and modern Staff were very helpful and friendly Nice TV Comfy bed Couple friendly Modern shower room with slate tiling
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was excellent, sound proofing was great, no disturbances at all, nice friendly pub next door along with Iceland where we could buy necessities. We would use again.
Cons: Not too happy parking in public multi storey car park, there was no lift, we had a toddler in a pushchair, so we had to walk down as vehicles were driving beside us. My husband and daughter went back to the car for the remainder of our belongings and when the came back down the stairs, they passed needles and drug paraphernalia.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Spotlessly clean, really immaculate Comfortable chair and great bed.
Cons: No ventilation at all, incredibly stuffy and quite hard to breathe as it was so hot. The windows do not open and there is no proper ventilation. I am sure it woukd be great in the winter, but on a hot night sleeping was a big problem. Some guests had propped their room doors open.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Building is not very attractive from the outside, but don't be put off - the room was clean, tidy, had everything required and was absolutely fine!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, modern apartment with everything you would need for a short stay. Located right by the river, and a short walk from the centre. Great for a family looking for a stopover.
Cons: The apartment was really hot! No internal aircon, and the portable humidifier only provided very limited relief!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, spacious and comfortable beds
Cons: Far too warm and can’t open the windows. Air con doesn’t work well either so just really, really hot
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was spacious, very clean and the staff were very helpful.
Cons: All windows were none opening and as we stayed during the hottest period the country had experienced this year, the two free standing air conditioning units were not adequate. The heat in the apartment made the stay uncomfortable.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a pleasant stay for one night here, the place was pretty clean (although the tops of cupboards were dusty). Reasonably well equipped, and a short walk over the bridge to the town centre, as well as a 10 minute walk to Tesco.
Cons: • Parking was unclear, the info in the car park was incredibly hard to understand, and once we’d managed to pay, when we arrived at the reception we were told we could have paid as we checked in (wasn’t told this before) • Kitchen drawers were quite bare, no oven gloves or tea towel, definitely needed more • The apartment was rather too warm, and although this was partially remedied by the dehumidifier (and also out of their control since it’s the 9th floor with non-openable windows), it did make it a little hard to sleep
6.8 Good
Pros: Mariella, the front desk receptionist was very polite, personable and helpful.
Cons: Properties that contain windows that don't open or no windows at all are usually advertised as such. This one was not. I would never have booked it had I have known this was the case. I was an uncomfortable stay due to the stifling heat.

Cons: Service in the restaurant very poor on one of the 3 days I dined there, being ignored for much of the time while the barmaid / waitress chatted to 2 drinkers and washed glasses in spite of the restaurant being virtually empty and my table being in easy sight.. Was good on the other 2.

Cons: Nothing to say
6.3 Good

9.5 Excellent
Pros: I liked the facilities, the food and the staff, and the bed was super comfy!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great friendly staff, excellent facilities. Food was amazing value and portions
Cons: Had to reset my room card a few times and there were no passes for the gym/pool.
7.5 Good
Pros: Room was clean
Cons: Extractor fan didn’t work even though you couldn’t open the bathroom door due to the smoke alarm going off, so having a shower was like being in a steam room. Approx 5 squares on toilet roll left on roll and no more anywhere. Took £20 off my card as a preauthorisation just in case I spent any money and then told me on check out it would take 5 days to be returned to me.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Swimming pool.got extra pillows.location.
Cons: People were already in our room when we arrived we walked in on them and we had to move.food was so so.breakfast so so water tastes of chlorine coffee very acidic .more quantity than quality.bed matresses very used rooms dated.
6.8 Good
Pros: Staff were friendly, location was good and decent parking.
Cons: The hotel is extremely dated, it's like stepping back in time but not in a charming way. The rooms don't have air conditioning, we stayed there on the first week of July and it was really warm. All we had was a small desk fan for the whole room. Breakfast was OK but not a lot to choose from.

7.7 Good
Pros: Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and positive, from reception staff to housekeeping. The rooms were well appointed, the food was extremely tasty and plentiful and the leisure centre was excellent - our children particularly enjoyed the indoor pool. The hotel even had a couple of singers in the bar on Saturday evening! We wished we could have stayed for longer!
5.3 Okay
Pros: Very nice pool and spa area. Restaurant offers value for money. Spacious reception area where you can spend a rainy morning with the kids and play a boardgame. However, focus of the hotel rests with pensioners - not with families.
Cons: The music in the restaurant was a bit outdated. Facilities (lounge, rooms) are a bit dated.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The rooms are nicely appointed, easy parking, a decent breakfast and use of the pool/sauna/etc facilities

4.8 Okay
Pros: Swimming poole and staff at the leisure dept. Was brilliant.
Cons: When checked in I was asked if I wanted a newspaper. I said Sunday Times but never received it. We hadd breakfast room service and it is the first time that I have been charged £5 for this service. My daugther was given a very poor bed and I complained. The duty manager was useless and I had to almost beg for a replacement. This was sort of ok but very thin mattress. The pillows were also poor. Also, it was very noisy during the night a couple of times with poeple chatting and laughing outside our room.
5.2 Okay
Pros: Clean and tidy
Cons: Food service stopped at 10pm, and only sandwiches until 10.30pm!

Pros: very friendly owner. Private entrance to my room. Although bathroom was shared with other guests, no one else was staying, so had private use.

Pros: The whole experience exceeded my expectations. Rail links to Cardiff excellent, place in great location for me to go back with my mountain bike. Clean, comfy beds, lots of space and even breakfast was included. Would highly recommend and go back.
Cons: Was told I could pay at property but when went into pay was told it had been taken. Would rather see that happen so I can check when it left my account.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were really friendly and made me feel really welcome, had a comfortable bed and big shower. There is a Thai restaurant which shares the same location as the pub and the food is very good.
6.8 Good
Pros: The host very kindly left us enough food for breakfast during our stay and lunches. It was a great surprise to find a stocked fridge and cupboard which really helped us out during our short 2 night stay. The bedrooms were spacious and the chalet is done up to a high standard. All the linen smelled clean and fresh and the chalet was spotless. It is also very accessible from the carpark outside and has an outdoor seating area for sunny days. The bathrooms and showers are very well appointed and spacious, a nice little slice of luxury.
Cons: Our stay was in November and due to the weather the chalet was a little chilly. The electric heaters did their job but took a while to warm up. The property is fairly new and might benefit from bedside lamps, extra blankets and tea towels for drying dishes. We'd also rented the whole chalet but the host felt one bedroom between us would be sufficient. Ordinarily this would have been fine but we booked the property on the basis of having all rooms available. We were able to gain access to the second bedroom on request.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good size accommodation with 3 single beds and wet room. On site Thai restaurant was good too.
Cons: Breakfast was DIY with cereal, milk, bread, orange juice provided, but no cooked breakfast available.

Cons: No hairdryer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The chalets far exceeded my expectations, very comfortable and homely. The welcome pack was just what was needed and even included things such as crumpets for the morning (very nice touch). Owners are very friendly. Will definitely return when in the area
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location.
Cons: It is all ok.

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel, grounds, and restaurants were all spotlessly clean and the staff were efficient, professional and friendly. Very professional and international feel to the hotel, with a wide range of restaurant options and a downstairs shopping area (daytime). The room itself was stunning, and it had the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on. Soft, good thread count sheets and various densities of pillows, so you can have a wonderful sleep. We had a little balcony, a mini bar, good-sized wall mounted television and a fully kitted out ensuite (toiletries, towels, robes, slippers) with both a shower and a bath. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were the perfect way to relieve the stress of a long journey, and I loved the tiled 'fresco' wall of the hot tub. I wish I could have stayed longer.
Cons: There was nothing at all that I didn't like!
7.0 Good
Pros: Layout is brill, grounds impeccable, facilities were great, food was excellent.
Cons: We paid for a room with balcony and a double bed, we got two single beds, no balcony and the room was dirty, we were told we could have the beds put together then we complained and got an upgrade to another room, but we were charged without asking first for a gratuity which was unreasonable considering we had been given an untidy room, we had the gratuity removed from bill.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Facilities OK
Cons: Children friendly
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great place. Staff are very good and well trained
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly, very clean facilities, immaculately kept grounds, concierge deserves a massive thanks as they are often overlooked.
Cons: Very hot in the rooms. The waiter took my breakfast away before I had the chance to finish my breakfast as I got up to get a juice.

6.3 Good
Pros: Location was close to where I needed to be
Cons: Room was overlooking beer garden. We couldn't open our window/curtains due to lack of privacy as there were people seated outside our window. I requested a fridge in the room and was not informed until arrival. Had to keep my daughter's meds at reception as a result having to go there and queue to retrieve them each time. Waited over an hour for our evening meal despite being told twice that it was on its way. We had to pay extra for the full breakfast option. Overall not impressed.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed here several times now - which says it all. It's good value for money. The staff are absolutely lovely. The bathroom is very well equipped. There is a very efficient fan. The hairdryer is good. There are loads of power points.
Cons: The room size is less than generous. The tea/coffee stuff is also less than generous.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, friendly buzzing place. Good experience all round . X
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room much nicer than the photos. Modern bathroom with great shower. Really comfy bed. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff.
Cons: Breakfast was below average.
6.8 Good
Pros: Food basic nothing special. Not enough staff on duty. No staff on permanent duty at reception
Cons: Food in the restaurant,
6.8 Good
Pros: The bed was comfy. The staff were all very pleasant & helpful.
Cons: The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work & it made the room unbearably hot. It didn't help that the window only opened an inch. The toilet seat was falling off & there was no hot water to the sink. The room was rather pokey and dark.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfy, clean. Nice restaurant with terrace, huge choice of food and drinks for adults and children. Staff was polite and nice.
Cons: Poor quality of cleaning, was not hovered after previous guests. Dust, litter and long hair all over the floor and bathroom. The room was on the first floor and was so hot, even though a table fan was provided and outside was only 14 degrees. Had to leave 1 hour earlier because was impossible to stay in this heat.
7.5 Good
Pros: Easy to find and clean. We arrived late and had no problem checking in.
Cons: Nothing it was all fine
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice big room, checking in and out was very easy. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bathroom was nice too. It was very nice being opposite the Cabin Cwtch as that was perfect for a morning coffee before check out. We sadly didn't have time for breakfast or the soft play which would have been lovely for the kids.
Cons: The carpet in the room was very old and could do with replacing. Also it would have been nice to have more than two tea bags! The bin bags broke as soon as we put anything in them too.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We needed to travel with our dog so this was great that you could bring them along. Rooms were nicely presented, clean and tidy, bathroom was nicely done with a hot shower, tea and coffee facilities provided although not given many items in the room. Handy to have an adjacent pub, although the menu was very carb heavy. Did have the veggie curry though which was very nice, and could sit outside with the dog. There was access to a public footpath straight off the car park to walk the dog which was very handy.
Cons: The room was absolutely baking. There was a fan in the room but made little difference. I know weather is not controllable but with small side windows with locks on it is difficult to get any movement of air through the rooms which made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. Bed was very comfy otherwise. The cooked breakfast was disappointing, everything was edible but undercooked, I don't think the 'grilled' tomato had even made it to the grill.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: good size room, free parking. close to Newport. Quiet location. Breakfast was okay but not particularly good value.
Cons: I would happily stay here again. However I would have rated it higher if it wasn't for the following, more consideration to lower level cleaning. Room cleaning on each day of stay.
6.8 Good
Pros: Very good value for money. Would certainly use it again and recommend it to others.
Cons: None of note
8.0 Excellent
Pros: excellent facilities and location
7.7 Good
Pros: We found it very relaxing, nice to go away and not have any worries.A very comfortable room. Will deffinately do it again, in fact have already booked for April 2011.
Cons: We were just disappionted that the restaurant and bar was closed, as we would of loved to used these, it was just unfortunate, the weeks clashed, but overall it didn't ruin our weekend with you. In April We hope we can use these facilities and look forward to it.

Pros:
Cons: I had booked 2 rooms, the hotel only reserved 1. This caused challenges to our group. The hotel didn't apologize or try and make amends in any way.
6.8 Good
Pros: Comfortable room and very helpful staff. Food at the adjacent restaurant was also of a good standard served by friendly stqaff
Cons: Nothing
6.8 Good
Pros: This was my second stay there within a week, and I enjoyed my first one so much that I had no hesitation in rebooking it with you during a return trip.
Cons: Not at all. I found everything to be exactly as described and the staff are excellent.
6.8 Good
Pros: I liked being able to take food and drink into my room and having a key to the hotel allowed me to have freedom that I didn't expect.
Cons: Slightly out of the way, however there are buses into town.

Pros: Staff attentive. Good location with some nice views.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Pool and spa area
Cons: Costs of food and drink.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This was our third year staying in the Manor House and once again we had a lovely time. We were able to check in to our room early and enjoy the facilities before getting ready for our evening meal. Owain who checked us in was very friendly and helpful and the app was great; letting us order extra pillows. The room was clean, comfy and had everything we needed. Our meal in Steak on Six was excellent. James greeted us and made sure we had everything we needed. They even managed to reserve us a table by the window so the views whilst eating dinner were great.
Cons: There could have been more biscuits and hot chocolate in the room. At Steak on Six a large party who arrived after us appeared to take up a lot of the waiting staff's time and attention. It was a shame that we couldn't get a table for drinks in The Mulberry Bar
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Some staff lack interpersonal skills
6.7 Good
Pros: Great choice of where to eat within this large hotel/resort complex, with prices charged not outrageous
Cons: Disappointed in the en-suite bathroom facilities - not really up to expected standard. Requires a make-over with upgrade in shower, addition of a bidet, huge waste of water to get hot taps to run even warm. Also some good housekeeping needed in room, cupboard doors not fitting and housing for in-drawer hairdryer broken and could be hazardous - above comments left with hotel reception on departure.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The Spa and Gym
Cons: It was full of wedding parties even on the Friday Night, who all appeared unable to control their kids.Stayed in the resort part last time, which was alot better.
6.7 Good
Pros: Food was excellent.
Cons: Carrying of suitcases up two flights of stairs.(We are OAP's)
7.7 Good
Pros: The company
Cons: Since the Ryder Cup they've become over popular and there is a long wait for most things. Waiting for up to 20 minutes to tee off is not acceptable and tee times should reflex this
6.0 Good
Pros: staff/food @ bistro & desk & concierge/door staff. received an upgrade so was delighted at that. That may have been due to my early arrival and time spent at the bar downstairs while waiting for room

Cons: Near a busy road so did get traffic noise at times
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel is a little dated. The shower leaked and the chair in the room was stained with blood.
Cons: The hotel and room were clean. The bed comfortable. The staff very friendly and polite. Shame about the chair. The breakfast was very nice and great value. Given the price it was for the room and breakfast £65.00 was a fair price.

Cons: Needs a lot of TLC in a lot of places rooms etc
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really clean modern rooms , excellent breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is a little bit of heaven... it's quiet and totally chilled. For those of you who like a bit of character this place is quirky and has such a relaxed vibe. They have retained all the original features and added a modern boho vibe... The beds are super comfy and the breakfast amazing. If this hotel was in London or a big city it would be triple the price. Respect to the staff and owners who made us feel so welcome.... was half expecting to bump into Basil Fawlty on the way down the stairs to the lobby but in our our eyes that is class ✌️
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice breakfast, nice location.
Cons: Too antiquated. Rugs on stairs need cleaning/changing just as the chairs placed on the landings (old and dirty) giving a smelly aura. Main door to hotel needs painting over and the lobby area as well. Rooms are clean though and staff are nice and friendly.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, tidy house with all basic amenities. Good location. Communication was polite and excellent, queries were answered immediately. We really enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend.
Cons: Parking was difficult but expected. The mattresses were soft and could probably do with being replaced with memory foam for added comfort at some point.

Pros: The staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a meal on the Friday night which was delicious. We had our grandson with us and he was well catered for with the children's menu. He also loved the swimming pool which we had to ourselves each time we went for a swim. The location was ideal for a trip to Cardiff for the football match at the principality stadium.
Cons: There wasn't anything I didn't like.
6.8 Good
Pros: Friendly welcome from reception staff and they were helpful in arranging a cot for our 2 year old which came to our room quickly too, We'd been looking forward to having a swim in the morning and the kids loved the pool although it was very small and basic. The room was spacious and generally comfortable although it had been a hot day and the tiny corner air-con machine was not really up to the task of cooling the room down in a short time.
Cons: Exterior and much of the interior was dated. Someone was smoking outside the doorway and the whole lobby smelt of smoke. At breakfast we were disappointed with the coffee selection having stayed the previous night in Holiday Inn Express where they had a coffee machine offering latte, cappuccino etc.. At this Holiday Inn the drinks station was a total mess and there was only filter coffee available from a flask, and when we asked about latte, we were old we had to pay for it from the bar. Most of the hot breakfast food was not fresh; bacon mostly dried out under hot-plate.

Cons: Key card did not work, we had to wait every time for a member of staff to let us in bedroom, using master key. Sometimes waiting 20minutes until they found someone to help. No maintenance man on duty to repair bedroom door. Unable to change bedrooms. Bedroom had a phone which did not work. Bedroom we were allocated had no where to put suitcase, no luggage rack. Bedroom dark and furniture very dated. Poor breakfast, black pudding like bullets. Cereal cornflakes out of date. Awful would not recommend or pay 13.50 each.
