The hotel is beautiful! Very charming and well thought out. The courtyard where you can relax by the fire pits is amazing. I met several wonderful, like minded people out there. Rooms are beautiful, beds comfortable. The rooms can get hot in the afternoon.
We stayed for two nights in September, stayed in a triple room with a loft which my friend and I loved (room 320). Unfortunately upon returning from our multi day hike we were given an upgraded room.... normally id be thrilled about an upgrade but this room had no loft so no privacy. It was also located right by the bar, restaurant and security office so the noise was AWFUL. Nothing like wanting to sleep after a four day hike + Machu Picchu only to be kept awake by rattling dishes and clanging glasses, heavy doors opening and shutting, staff gossiping. To make matters worse our shower had NO HOT WATER. Even a cheap hotel room has hot water. I brought it to the attention of the front desk who sent someone to “fix it”. Well that someone was the bell hop who just let the water run for ten minutes, told us it was fixed and left. Yeah it wasn’t fixed. I took a $275 lukewarm shower. Last but not least when you leave they ask you if you want to leave a tip on top of your bill. I thought it was a little strange, I’ve never been asked to just leave a tip on top of my bill at a hotel checkout. I asked the girl who it went to and she couldn’t answer me and just said it was optional. I asked her again who it went to and she just clicked by it and didn’t answer me. I had already been tipping my waiters, bartenders and housekeeping fairly well but didn’t mind leaving a little extra if the girl could just tell me who gets the tips/who splits it. Weird!
On an evening the staff put hot water bottles in your bed and leave tea next to it!! The food at the hotel was incredible, both the breakfast and the evening dining. I had steak on our first evening and it was the best steak I've ever had. During our stay we did the Inca Trail, so we were at the hotel for 2 nights, away from 3 nights and back again for 2. Whilst we were away the hotel looked after our luggage ensuring it was in our room when we got back from the trip, we even got a free upgrade which was amazing.
I can't fault this hotel, everything was perfect!!
We returned to the hotel after an overnight trip to Machu Picchu to find we had been given an upgrade to a large suite. Our luggage had already been taken to our room. The service is wonderful as is the breakfast. Fast and efficient service - nothings too hard. We keep coming back. The decor is stylish and location ideal for exploring.
Really enjoyed the extra touches like a hot water bottle & herbal tea brought to your room!
What a lovely hotel with the best service and great little touches to make the stay even better. Highly recommend!!
