Pros: Good location, it takes around 10 minutes to subway, night market or downtown area. The boss is an incredible person, he can and willing give you a lot of help. There are heater installed on the floor of room which can give you a good night.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: have a amazing experience with daegu aegu 2nd. Owner is very kind and helpful make our travel very enjoyable. The place is clear and safe! ❤️ I miss Lucas a lot!(the owner’s dog)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Guma (the host) is very friendly and helpful he bought us food and even dropped us at the train station when we had to leave. We also went for a drink together in a nearby place. He is by far the best host i have ever had and I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very kind! Thank you so much!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I love the hanok design and that it still capture the very classic nuances of korean living by using the sliding door and incorporating small stairs and an attic slot as a bedroom. I was also so touched by the very kind gesture of Mr Guma for kindly picking us up at the train station and helping to drive us to the train station on our last day:) The neighborhood was lovely and it really felt safe walking at night even when I was alone as the streets are properly lit and there is a police HQ nearby :) Cute cafes are many to choose from and the bonus point is Luca, the cute poodle ! we miss Luca so much already!
Cons: The location is a bit far off from the nearby bus station. The bathroom clogs up frequently and there were quite a lot of mosquitoes at night. It would be nice if we had an electronic mosquito repellent . I also feel that the lighting from the fluorescent lamps were a bit too bright for a small hanok room and it is really disturbing when one has to switch on the head lamp to search for a stuff/ plug a phone charger in the middle of the night as there is no other dimmer light source and it will truly disturb the other person who are sleeping in the same room. Maybe a small, dim table lamp would suffice as an optional lighting source.

Midtown Hostel - Daegu - Building

9.2 Excellent (1,379 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Daegu (Jung-gu), Midtown Hostel is within a 5-minute drive of Gukchaebosang Memorial Park and Dalseong Park. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and a safe deposit box at the front desk.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It took about 15minutes by a taxi . The owner was very kind .
Cons: I could sleep very well . The room was very clean and silent. It cost 4dollar from airport to the hotetol by taxi .
9.2 Excellent
Pros: - The place is clean and well-equipped with all the basic necessities for a comfortable stay. - Great location - right by the Yaksi alley, one of the attractions in Daegu. And from there you can take a short walk to an array of other attractions.
7.0 Good
Pros: The beds! I like that style of bed that is enclosed. Plus though I was on the second level, there were steps going up to the bed, which was so nice. The beds and blankets were comfortable. Also, it was great that there were separate rooms for the bathroom, and makeup room. The building is on a quieter street but still close to all the main events downtown, which is great. The construction of the hostel is nice, modern, and homey all at once. The price is also extremely reasonable.
Cons: The biggest issues I had were with other guests, but also the food. I am vegan and none of the food was possible for me to eat. Also, it would be sooooo much better if there were stricter rules, written in English and Korean (and possibly other languages). In my room, other guests had their suitcases open and covering the floor. It was difficult to walk through the small space, and cluttered. I could not access my storage compartment (which I needed to, to lock my computer in) without moving other people's suitcases, which were open and covering the whole floor. The room, outside from the enclosed space where I slept, was a disaster. Also there need to be rules about changing shoes. Even though there are lockers for shoes, several guests wore their outside shoes in the sleeping room, which was gross. Lastly, clear rules about lights out and noise inside the sleeping rooms. I think these rules should be posted and guests should be reminded.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean, close to bus/metro, great breakfast, lockers, provides towels, a water bottle, ear plugs, and slippers. I would only bring a toothbrush, clothing, and your electronics. Owners are super nice, very good at English, and knowledgeable. Great cusomter service and they will help you. The beds were comfortable and the place is still pretty new. The location is only one street away from the main road full of restaurants, shops, and convenience stores. I'd highly recommend this place to you. Thank you!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It is in the city centre so you're close to everything. The rooms are super quiet so you really don't hear anything from outside. I love the little bedside thing you can flip out with two plug sockets and the curtain gives you needed privacy. There are enough toilets and showers and they are really clean. The staff is very friendly and explain everything really well.
Cons: I slept in the top bunk but it's quite hard to get up the slippery stairs. I wonder why they don't put grip tape on it, that would help a lot. Also, I would love a curtain in front of the window as well because it was still pretty light inside the room at night because of the street lights.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner and the staff are super nice and helpful!
Cons: Sometimes people in the room were talking so loud noise (but it’s okay I accept the risk)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Even though I stayed for one night only for a flight to catch next day, it was a great place to stay. It is very close to the subway station(5min or so) and downtown. There are many restaurants around
8.8 Excellent
Pros: - the design of the bed is really great (it would be perfect if the locker is there too) - great location - friendly and helpful staff - breakfast is included - rooftop garden
Cons: - hope there would be wet and dry areas are separated in the bathroom - the location of the locker is a bit weird

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mr Kim’s hospitality far exceeded our expectations! He was an incredible host and he made sure that we got everything we needed in terms of facilities and amenities. Wished we stayed for longer than one night! The hanok guesthouse was located in a convenient location and was so beautiful. The place is clean and tidy. There is a wonderful kitchen facility and a sink in the garden front. We cannot rave enough about the amount of care and effort that Mr Kim puts into making sure all his guest are happy with their experience here! You have got to stay here!
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Top location. Easy walk to food street, shopping mall and metro. Beautiful Hanok. Mr. Kim rocks. Thanks for all. We will come back
7.5 Good
Pros: Mr Kim the host was very hospitable! Guesthouse conveniently located near some museums and food.
Cons: It was a bit hard to find, you had to walk through a small alley. Other than that nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mr. Kim was an exceptional host! We arrived in the evening and were only able to enjoy the house for a short few hours as we had to leave for our flight at 4am. Nonetheless, this hanok house was very nice, clean and I will be staying here again the next time I am in Daegu. Mr. Kim gave us a thorough tour of our room and bathroom to make sure we knew how to work everything properly. The beds are as comfortable as a futon can be, it's a thin sleeping mattress so you can't reasonably expect thick mattress kinds of comfort. The beds are really nice though, because the floor is heated the heat goes into the mattress and just makes sleeping heavenly in chilly weather. Mr. Kim was so wonderful to us. We asked him to reserve a taxi for us at 4am since the public transport would not be running so early. We waited at the pickup point from 3:55am until 4:05 and became a little worried when Mr. Kim unexpectedly came out to check that we had gotten a taxi successfully. We waited together for a few more minutes and when he saw that we were getting concerned about our check-in time he used a translator to tell us, "Not to worry" and he took us to the airport himself.
Cons: As we stayed only in the evening and for a few hours, we could find nothing to improve upon. The shower was nice, the room was nice and Mr. Kim was delightful so we felt happy to have stayed at Aega Hanok House.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The house environment is really clean and we can enjoy living in Korean traditional house, it’s really cool!
7.9 Good
Pros: Everything is alright except the size of the room. We have a nice sleep. Location is near city centre.
Cons: My room is too small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a lovely place to stay for those curious about Korean traditional houses. The night we stayed was frightfully cold but the underfloor heating and style of the house meant we were toasty warm. The host, Mr Kim was pleasant and available. His English is limited but he was helpful at explaining the facilities and helping us organise our transfers to the next location.

Pros: The staffs were really nice and breakfast was good! The place was clean. Information can be easily obtained from the staffs. Good location, a walk a way from the main shopping street.
Cons: It had a good location, however it was a little walk away from all the area that is lively at night. The area gets very quiet very early. The shower room was one floor above the room we stayed which was a little inconvenient.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location very good
Cons: Shower... No good.. not private
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and the atmosphere were superb, even if I didn't stay for long!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, close to the shopping area and restaurants. Fun english speaking staff as a plus.
Cons: Missed a coffee for breakfast...
7.9 Good
Cons: Not up to the same level of accommodation experienced in other hostels,( ie radio dongmoon in Jeju). Very average 4 person dorms, smelly mens urinals, not as good a hostel to meet other travellers as some. Two pluses are the clean sheets and location.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and the staff was very kind. Furthermore, She has spoken in Japanese.
Cons: As a result, the night was quite, but I was worried about the noise. The smell of the toilet also needed to be improved.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was lovely, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was nice and the location was incredible. What was the best was the staff, though! Very kind and helpful when I had some small problems in Daegu.
Cons: Had to walk up some steep stairs, but it wouldn't hurt if it weren't for my large suitcase, haha.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An amazing hostel in Daegu! Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious rooms and an amazing location! I lived in Daegu for 8 years and it is nice to finally have a good quality hostel!
Cons: Nothing to complain about!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Close to restaurants, Subway, two lounges-one at 2nd floor, and a large space on the first floor, some great, and friendly staff
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location was nice
Cons: Must of the people were sick in my room and we had to share one bathroom.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff and the fact that they kept our luggage’s for the day.
Cons: The men dorm room smelled bad and did not have hot water. Mattresses were firm.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff always helpful and greeted me with a smile. Clean sheets. Nice rooftop deck. Printed out airplane eticke for me. Staff was very hard working whether cleaning or helping guests get settled.
Cons: The younger crowd of Korean boys/men that stayed for day or two just to party. They were inconsiderate and didn't clean up after themselves or follow easy room rules explained by the staff like turning off hot water boiler or simply turning off lights. I was young once so I understand.
Hera Hotel - Daegu - Building

8.6 Excellent (792 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hera Hotel in Daegu (Dong-gu), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Dongchon Park and Gukchaebosang Memorial Park. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room with a nice bubble bath and snacks and drinks available at reception 24/7. Friendly stuff as well. They let us store our luggage before the check in time and gave us extra large towels (by the Korean standard :) )
Cons: The location is nice because it's close to a metro station and the room was quiet, but the building itself is next to a highway and some construction sights. Don't expect great views.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel room was big. The bed and tv were big too. There is a bathtub in the toilet and the towel is small towel and I have to use both. The water, drinks, coffee, bread, cup noodle and ice cream at 2nd level was free. You must know the exact exit to use and walk to the hotel. You should use exit 4 from ktx station and walk out. You will see escalator down and turn to right. Walk all the way straight and you can see hotel.
Cons: Towel was small.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is within walkable distance (5-10 minutes) to Dongdaegu station. The path from train station to hotel is smooth (without uphill or staircase) so it is very convenient for travellers with heavy luggages. The front desk lady is very friendly and helpful. We didn't manage to check in early as that required additional charges. (We reached at 10am.) So we just store our luggages and come back at night around 10pm. When we checked in, the hotel manager is very friendly to bring us into the room and guide us on how to use all the facilities. The room is not new, but it is clean and spacious. Towels, toilet papers, shampoo, rinse, body shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, skin, moisturizer, hairdryer etc provided. There is a jacuzzi inside the bathroom. The tub is soooooooo clean. (sparkling~) Too bad I was too tired to try on it. (The air cond is a bit noisy though.) TV is super large. There is a desktop computer provided. All the drinks in the fridge are free. There are cookies provided. There is also a snack bar near the reception which all the things are free!!! Including ramen, can coffee, bread, blended smoothie, bottled water etc! I am amazed that they also provided red ginseng drink! And it is warm!!! That's very refreshing. It's really a pity that we only stayed here for one night.
Cons: Took us sometime (like 5-10 minutes?) to find the place as we took the wrong path. It is actually very easily access as it is just along the same road from the KTX station basement level. (Use Kakao map instead of Google map! That will make your life easier.)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It looks like a love hotel, but whatever it is, this is a great (and fun) place to spend a few nights in Daegu. The owner is amazing - gave me a full tour of the hotel and room's facilities; the room was huge, and equipped with a king size bed plus a single bed. The list of the room amenities would be endless... huge TV screen, sound system, 2 computers (yeah, two), jacuzzi style bath tub, just to name the highlights. Next to the reception area you can find (all for free) an ice cream machine, a slurpee station, bread, jam, packed noodles, bottled water, and probably something else. The hotel is very quiet and I hardly heard any noise, internal or external. The position is very good, just behind the Dongdaegu train and metro station.
Cons: The bed was a bit hard; not something I dislike, but something maybe other people could not find to their liking.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is not far from Dongdaegu KTX Station. It's about 5 minutes walk if you know which exit to leave the station, we had to ask the station staff for direction. This is a boutique hotel. There is a snack bar on the 2nd floor which is where the reception is. Items there are free like soft serve, slurshi, bread and cup noodles. The room size is quite decent for the 3 of us. There are 2 computers in the room and a 65-inch TV, the Hotel manager was saying we can do Lan gaming there.
Cons: The only 2 complaints I have is the bath towel is the size of the face towel and there is no place to hang clothes in the bathroom. Coming out from the bathtub is actually quite scary as the floor was full of water as there is also no shower screen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms was amazing big enough space, the t.v the shower was big and comfortable. We loved everything about the room and having water bottles in the room. Location very closed to airport 7 min via taxi good for more sleep time.
Cons: I didn't like that I could not get a room together with my kids so my husband and I split in each room so that one of us was with a child in each room. Omg..the towel was so small I thought it was for the face it would be nice to have had bigger towel to dry our whole body.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The staffs are very nice. The location is near to rail station.
Cons: I feel something ... make me itching ... I can't sleep well.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great, very easy access to shopping malls, I figure this area would be the most crowded with people with lots of entertainments and goods Staff were very kind, got upgraded room with access to minibar, which made us really flattered and happy
Cons: Room was insanely hot before check out as it was November and hotel said they do not provide air conditioning any more so they only can either provide fan or open window mannually. I would not visit this hotel around November when they cannot operate air conditioning Also, due to too good location, I think lower floors might feel a bit noisy as it is located right in the middle of the city.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice big room and comfy bed. Free WiFi . Sauna
Cons: Noisy outside . Windows very dirty

8.4 Excellent (1,179 reviews)

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really friendly and helpful. The beds are equipped with an own curtain to get some privacy and a own light.
Cons: There are 2 showers only seperated by a curtain, it could get awkward if there are 2 people showering at the same time. But if people know that someone's showering they'll wait until that person's done.
7.5 Good
Pros: Seperate toilets for women
Cons: Too many people in one room
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good hostel, good location, central, simple and cozy,
Cons: Missing a better system to lock the room doors, less noisy. Could be noisy if your room led to the living room
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent, right in the center of downtown Daegu. It is tucked away on a quieter street, but still has quick access to the hustle and bustle of downtown. Beds have privacy curtains, free breakfast, and spacious facilities. Can't beat the excellent price!
Cons: The shower rooms don't have great separation between the different shower heads. Also, after a certain point in the night the water won't get hot. Sometimes, the bathroom cleanliness is lacking because many people share a small amount of facilities. But, bathrooms are cleaned everyday.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: DIY breakfast - tray of eggs, cooking oil, loaves of bread, jam and coffee. Fine by me. Also liked the big generous bunk beds with a personal light, charger sockets and wrap round curtains for privacy. Excellent location right in the middle of the city, so handy for getting around, but in a quiet little side street. Good value for money
Cons: Hard to locate staff when you needed something, but pleasant when you did see them. Not enough toilets. Mostly fairly clean, but the side of my bunk that was against the wall, had huge balls of fluff, popcorn, chocolate wrappers and old tissues etc down the side.
5.0 Okay
Pros: spacious beds with privacy curtains
Cons: dont expect any help from the hostel or its staff after 10pm and before 10am. hostel guests were essentially left to their own devices during that time, and no one had any idea how to contact the staff or even identify them. Hostel also does not answer the contact number it gives in the booking. You’re better off yelling into the void.

Pros: The worker is very friendly and helpful, the room is very clean and comfortable. The space in this room is bigger than the other February hotel in daegu. Breakfast is delicious. Little bit far from the downtown, but is not hard to get to E -world.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are cycle travelers doing the route between Seoul and Busan and this hotel was situated not far from the bike path. They let us bring our bikes into the room which also happened to be extremely comfortable, clean and had a nice tub to soak in! It was also easy to find a place to eat as there were restaurants everywhere within close proximity. And specials thanks to the reception staff who was super nice and helped us settle in and arranged our laundry!

Pros: Staff members were very friendly and helpful. They all spoke English well. The hotel property is beautiful. The room was big and spacious and the beds were comfortable.
Cons: The only dislike was that there were no convenient stores near by. There was a “bake shop” in the lobby but selections were limited.
5.4 Okay
Pros: There was construction going on which was very loud. The rooms are outdated and expected more for the price.
Cons: The rooms were outdated. The location was far from the city center
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful facility! Multiple dining options. Superb view of the river and mountians. Room qas spotless. Helpful hostess! Speaks excellent English! We hope stay here again when we return for next visit.
Cons: We wish we could stay longer! Such a wonderful stay. We are from America and accustomed to colder temperatures indoors, around 20° C. However I am sure the air conditioning was working its hardest against the intense heat and humidity.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: **posted a previous review of the same stay Friendly helpful staff. Big rooms. Beautiful location and surroundings. Pool, sauna, screen golf, and other amenities are accessible at the hotel. Rooms service options were great and decently priced for what you get. Fast and efficient and the taste was excellent. Side dishes and soup accompanied my main dish.
Cons: No convenient stores in walking distance
6.3 Good
Pros: The outside and setting was pretty hence its draw for weddings...parking wasn't a problem. There are plenty of eateries within a 5min drive. Going downtown is easy as well, there is a huge carpark underneath the main shopping area.
Cons: The room was small and did not fit the rest of the hotel. There was a lack of charging sockets or power points. The air con was not fully working and it needed updating. Breakfast was not included and very pricey for Korean standards.

2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Power went out in the whole room and got moved to a different room that had mold all over all of the walls and roof. Made me get a headache and was super unsafe for my baby. We had to sleep in the room with no power because of the mold in the other room. This was the suite.
7.1 Good
Pros: Its clean and people is so friendly
Cons: The location
7.1 Good
Pros: The jacuzzi styled bath was a highlight as it is very comfortable and just feels good to relax in there. We also had a big television and a PC in our room. Not necessary but it is still a nice extra to have.
Cons: The breakfast area was not really small but the choice that you had was very limited. The orange juice was also not freshly made but tasted like they bought it for cheap in a supermarket. The bathroom lights did also not work. It worked for the hallway and the toilets but not the bathroom with the shower and jacuzzi. The air conditioning did also not do too much of a good job
7.9 Good
Pros: The price was good for what we got. Kind of in developing area. Happy there was a convenience store in walking distance for snacks.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was much better than we thought. Definitely going again if we could.
Cons: Position. But they will call a taxi for you.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The nice staff gave us a pack of candies as a warm welcome gift. It is extremely close to the subway station and located in the busiest area in Daegu. Very convenient. The bed is quite comfortable.
Cons: The interior design is special but because of the bumpy wall surface it feels not so clean. The bathroom and bed is clean though. The black iron-barred shelves are good looking but felt quite cold and “prison-like”. That’s why it felt not as comfortable as it could be. It’s a pity.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are extremely helpful and communicated in English - which we appreciated. I requested from the hotel staff to arrange some candles and rose petals beside the pool area and they honestly went above and beyond what I expected. We only booked for one night but my husband insisted that we stay another.
Cons: The brunch cafe on the second floor desperately needs a new breakfast menu.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location, Hotel counter staff is very friendly.
Cons: In the morning sleep, the lights in the room suddenly turned on and suddenly all dark, and the air-conditioning was the same. It lasted for 10 minutes until I called and told the hotel counter to come to the 10th floor to see that it was a safe circuit failure, which made me a little scared.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect - right in the centre of everything and very close to metro stations. We’ve booked junior suite and it was beautyifuly decorated and spacious. Very nice toileteries, all eco certified. Bath and shower. Comfortable bed. Clothes steaming/refreshing mashine - wonderful!
Cons: A/c didn’t work, dirty bathrobes, not enough big towels (just one while we were two adults)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was good something for everyone in the family.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly.
Cons: There was dust behind the doors. The shower shoes were torn and unbelievably uncomfortable. There should be somewhere to wash our hands after using the restroom if someone is taking a shower. It’s inconvenient to either wait for the person to get out the shower or not wash our hands all together.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great atmosphere & design Comfortable bed Spacious bathroom facilities Good location
Cons: The breakfast was a disappointment. We would truly advice the management to improve this to deserve an even better overall score
