Pros. Within easy walking distance of a Metro Station, a mall (that was only "2nd rate" by the standards of the other major malls in Dubai), a small grocery store across the street if you choose to eat in, and a main street for walking looking for other eateries. The staff is friendly and willing to help with extras in the room (extra key card for example) or give information about the city as well.
Cons. The bed was well past its prime (springy and noisy). The "fire blanket" for putting out fires in the little kitchen was missing from its holder on the wall. The stove range dials were all broken/ rubbed off to the point that it was an "all on / all off" scenario when turning the power to the range on. The ranges were not properly grounded either (metal pots and utensils sent sparks flying when in use). The oven was flat out broken, and coffee pot/tea kettle had to be tampered with to get it to work. No hot water in the kitchen.
