Historic hotel with mountain view
We could see Mt Hood from our room. Excellent sunset view. The staff was courteous, always working hard to help and checking to see if you need anything. The included breakfast was home cooked and fantastic. Fresh pear muffins, quiche, potatoes and fresh fruit buffet. There’s drinks at the bar (very decent price) and lunch/dinner. We had a room with a shared bath but had no concerns with cleanliness. Everything was cleaned thoroughly and not covered in hair. The venue is very romantic and the setup is great for weddings
The hotel is historic, which means there’s squeaks, thin walls, no central air, no TVs (excellent WiFi tho), no elevators, the fan in the hallway hums, and limited dining options in town. If you’re looking for a corporate chain hotel, then this is not your place. However, the charm, the service, the views and the break from everyday hustle is refreshing.
Historic w/great hospitality
I planned a get-a-way for my 14 year old son and I to spend some one on one time. This was perfect. The country side is georgous and the surrounding neighborhood is perfect for walking around. The grounds at the Blach are beautiful and immaculate. I worried about the shared bathrooms, but never had to wait to use it. Next time I would love to bring my husband for a romantic get-a-way!
