Breakfasts and leisure center dinner
beautiful location and friendly, helpful staff. superb breakfast. Clean and comfortable. wonderful wedding venue. difficulty accessing the wedding website
Dunkeld House facilities are superb and the experience is always relaxing. Rooms a little tired. Overpriced soft drinks - 2 colas for just under £5 - not acceptable. Asked for extra towel at pool and told no - not hotel policy!!
Beautiful setting; excellent well-maintained grounds; friendly, helpful staff; good and varied breakfast; good traditional, well-kept interior. The walks around the hotel and the Tay are wonderful and the scenery magnificent. The room we occupied - 208 - was very cramped, although we were told it was an upgrade. The interior lighting was very bad, both in the bedroom and adjoining ensuite bathroom. Unable to see well to insert contact lenses or put on eye make up etc. It was the worst lighting I have encountered in an hotel. In hotels I have visited, bathroom lighting is super sharp. Reading light in the bedroom not adequate. Low lighting can be good sometimes, but not if it can't be stepped up if required for business or pleasure reading etc.. Dinner was fine, but not excellent, for the cost, and so after the first night we opted to eat outside the hotel. The tv was 'snowy' when we first arrived and we had to ask for this to be attended to. It was fine after this and a day later new flat screen TVs were installed.
Stunning location, staff friendly, leisure good. Hotel food could be better - breakfast not very smooth in operation and hotel lacked atmosphere (although this was a midweek stay!) - more suited to older visitors rather than younger people
Food was very good as was the selection on the menu. The countryside around the hotel was beautiful with lots of wildlife and the river at the bottom of the front lawn was very spectacular. It was also within walking distance from town but far enough away to not spoil the peace and quiet of the countryside. Also courtesy bus to town was useful and young drivers were very chatty One point - the kingsize bed was made up of two singles but it was not comfortable to lie in the middle where the beds joined. It really needed to have a thin mattress topper to make the join not so easily felt when lying on it. Another point was the entrance from car park to reception which is the way most people would be entering the hotel for the first time - I was surprised to see that it was quite tatty and could do with a little freshening up and floor boards need varnished but it is not something which would put us off going back because the hotel is in a beautiful part of the countryside.
Location, staff very friendly, comfortable nice room Sauna and Steam room were not working and the staff were not even aware - pool area and leisure centre could do with a bit of revamp - modernisation. Food was ok but not great - very mass produced style - would benefit from more bar style meals offered as well in the dinner menu
Room in new wing all staff excellent and friendly especially the lady receptionist First room just looked air conditioning units and was very noisy
Being in Dunkeld. The swimming pool. The public areas. Our shower was very good. Our room was disappointing in general and not what I've experienced before at Dunkeld House. My recommendations will be with some misgiving. "Deluxe" does not describe the room we stayed in.
The staff were very helpful on our arrival. The room we ended up in was very nice and the setting is lovely. I found the cost of the rooms very expensive as such It is only used as a treat. The food was good but not as good as previous visits. Drinks I also found very expensive.
Hotel grounds beautiful. Spa facilities good - changing area a bit cramped though Rooms nice but small. Halls and doors etc could do with a refurb
friendly staff. easy to find shower , bit iffy
Pleasant staff, good food, comfortable bed and room, nice views and parking. A real ale available.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, supper in the Bistro was excellent Breakfast was below average - baked beans were substituted for mushrooms with no warning
Location of hotel
bathroom needs up dating, a little tatty
Location, hotel staff none
It is just a typical traditional Hotel has a lovely cosy fire in the Pub Bathroom's are large but not good when the weather is really cold as there was only a towel rail which wasn't adequate for the size of bathroom. With the full breakfast you only get one rasher of bacon which was a bit mean, but on saying that the food is generally good
Service was excellent Food was reasonable, not great
The staff were very considerate, the room was comfortable but not luxurious and breakfast was excellent.
The staff were very friendly and made you feel comfortable. The bed in the room was quite uncomfortable and in my view needed replaced.
The location is great. The Hotel is easy to find and the staff very helpful. Beds were good and breakfast was ok. The weather!
It was a reasonable price considering I was travelling alone and location was good. I was very disappointed that I wasn't greeted in reception. I waited for 25 minutes in the dining room for breakfast and no staff member came. I went to look for a staff member. There was no receptionist and nobody in the kitchen. Eventually found a staff member in the bar who was quite rude when I said that I had been waiting so long. She continued to be rude and put the tea on the table, said nothing and left. I had been planning to stay another night but decided to leave as soon as possible after this very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this hotel.
Really friendly service None
Charming pub located right in town. Room were clean and comfortable
Having got back to the hotel late and having left key in car at a nearby hotel we were unable to get a spare and therefore had to get a taxi to the nearby hotel to retrieve the key
Everything about our stay was wonderful including the weather! The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. The hotel was extremely busy with a function that particular weekend but the staff were very attentive to each and every guest. All in all a lovely place to spend a weekend, so much so that we plan to book again in the next few weeks.
Staff were friendly. Bonus was that our dog could stay. Overpriced. Have stayed in better hotels for less.
Accomodation / staff friendly Price of food and drinks fair Restaurant could be used for evening diners
Quaint and quiet. Small room and whole place looks rather tired.
Good food with plenty of choice Beds too hard, disturbed by traffic noise.
Excellent staff. Friendly and very helpful. Thought it was going tobe noisey when I arrived but it was just people coming and going. I arrived at 1630hrs and there seemed to be a lot of noise for about an hour. But it did quieten up after this so not really a bad point. (I was tiried) The room was cold but again there was a radiator and an electric heater that I switched on. So no real complaint there either.
Staff were excellent. Breakfast at 5:30am for cyclists was great.
The lift, friendliness, food and atmosphere.
Well informed staff, claen spacious room (coincidentally the same one I had last year at this time),ample breakfast with good vegetarian option.
Friendly staff, good location, food v. acceptable. Hotel has clearly been upgraded recently with more being done. It grows on you.
peaceful double bed was actually two single beds pushed together
excellent hotel, nice dining room and bar, nice big rooms and warm nothing
Wonderful old world atmosphere, but modernised. Staff were excellent. The room was old but had been given a lovely makeover. Shower a little old, but ok. None really. It would be good if the shower room had had the tile grouting changed or cleaned up during the makeover, but this is a minor point.
Friendly staff.Good food.
