Pros (+) The Microtel is a nice hotel. It is inexpensive and clean. The room was large, and the bed was comfortable. There was no hair drier in the room, but you can get one by asking at the desk. The hotel is several miles to the north of the main part of Anchorage. It was an excellent choice for us because of its proximity to several good hiking locations. It would be a bad choice for someone wanting to ...
Cons (-) As with most hotels, lighting was inadequate with two rather weak ceiling lights, a light over the bed, and one small desk lamp. There was only one chair, a desk chair. There is no place to put down anything in the bathroom except the back of the sink and the top of the toilet tank.
