10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice host Comfortable rooms Good location Very clean
Cons: Cafe not very strong
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Claudia makes the most amazing breakfasts, and both her and her husband are very friendly and helpful with regards to what to do and eat while you’re there. The bed is huge and very comfortable. The room is nice and spacious too.
Cons: This property is located a little away from the main strip but that doesn’t really matter as El Chalten is small and everything is easily walkable. A kettle would have been nice to make our own coffee in the evenings. The temperature in the shower can be hard to get right.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, comfortable and clean room.
Cons: The bathroom was a little stinky because of the open drain in the floor.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about Anita's House was awesome! Anita was incredibly helpful with restaurants, laundry, and hiking info. She went above and beyond with everything we needed- even booked a bus to pick us up for a hike! The cabin was perfect for what we needed and in an incredible location, close to all the shops, restaurants, and hikes!
Cons: Everything was perfect :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly owner was extremely helpful with advice for activities or day to day planning. Location is right in the center of town: perfect for hikes, food, supermarkets. Apartment was brand new and very comfortable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It's so comfortable and cosy. Anita is really friendly and knowledgeable. Right in the middle of the town.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely the best host we ever had. Clean place, great location, beautiful time. Thank you Anita for having us, I will surely recommend you to all my friends.
Cons: Wifi could be better, but it’s a small village and no one has good wifi. We worked with what we had.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Anita was very nice and helpful, the apartment was clean and cosy, we would definitely return
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Anita is very friendly and helpful! Very nice apartment in good location. We would definitely choose it again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was so well decorated, had an amazing view and felt luxurious after some strenuous hikes in the area!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything at Anita's house, from check-in to check-out. Anita was super helpful, and the apartment was perfect for our needs. It's well located for all the hikes, has a strong shower and a comfy bed. 10/10.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a great place and Anita is a fantastic host, helpful, friendly and warm. The apartment was extremely comfortable, had great lighting and tastefully styled - plus it had a bath for after those long cold hikes!! An added bonus is the coffee and cakes made by Anita,s husband, Leon, in his premises right next door. It was the best coffee we've had in Argentina and the little speciality biscuits are fantastic. The area is just beautiful and we would have loved to stay longer
Cons: That we couldn't stay longer!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Anita's house was exceed my expectation. We had a warm welcome from owner, Anita and Leo. Both of them are friendly and wonderful. Anita always provided us more information of El Chalten, where we can travel or what we can do during a bad weather. Also, her coffee and Alfajores in her cafe was very nice. The house was big enough to fit 6 people in one place and was provided with full equipped for cooking. The house was super clean as Anita always clean everyday except when we said we don't need cleaning. Location was great, it located near restaurants and cafes.
Cons: wifi is not strong but can't complain much as its all the same in El Chalten
Lago Viedma B&b - El Chaltén - Building
3
9.3 Excellent (224 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in El Chalten, Lago Viedma B&B is a 1-minute drive from Capilla de los Escaladores and 8 minutes from Viedma Lake. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and luggage storage.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The women who run the hotel are super helpful -- they gave us a bunch of information and tips for our hike in the morning. They also helped us get a cab the next day, after we had already checked out and returned from our hike. In addition, even though breakfast is 7-9, they left breakfast out for us for our leaving early. Went well above and beyond the call of duty!
Cons: It's fairly small, simple accommodations -- everything a person needs, but don't expect anything too fancy!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect stay for couples! Cute, cozy, great location and the girls running the place were just amazing. They had all the local tips for hikes and restaurants we needed. Breakfast was perfect before a big hike too. Highly recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly B&B with a very warm and homely atmosphere. The hosts were lovely and very helpful too. Would definitely recommend!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are wonderful, so warm, accommodating and so much useful info on hiking around the area. Their service was well above expected, not only cleaning our room every morning, but also organizing our stuff! Breakfast was amazing, great variety of home made goodies... including fresh orange juice!
Cons: We just wished out bathroom had a fan for better ventilation. Hosts also warned us of early morning noise as our room was on the main floor beside the dining area/entrance/kitchen, but we didn't find it bad.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location and staff, comfortable stay
Cons: nothing!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lina and Augustina were fantastic hosts and they do such a great job maintaining the house - the house is small but very cozy, and central to everything in town and the trails. We loved being able to be so close to all the great cafes and restaurants!!
Cons: We stayed in the twin room, the room lacks a bit of ventilation (there's a small window in the room which doesn't open), but there's another small window in the adjoining bathroom which opens to give some air. Because there is another room that is right next door and the walls are quite thin, you can hear everything the people in the next room is saying or doing. And if the people next door happen to have a deeper or slightly louder tone or voice, it is difficult to be distracted from that.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, great and individual breakfast, good location, nice, cozy and welcoming rooms, highly recommendable
Cons: No heating in the bathroom, not possible to open the window in the sleeping room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 5 nights for our hiking getaway. Great breakfast with homemade bread, eggs every morning even bacon a couple of days. On days we wanted a super early start before breakfast time, the left out some bread and pastries for us. The hosts were excellent and very customer service oriented. The town isn't that big, so you can easily walk to all the restaurants/bars/etc, but it was nice having Curcuma, the vegan restaurant we loved only half a block away (and we aren't even vegan). Also a spa and corner store with wine and snacks across the street. All the major trailheads are only 10 minute walk away.
Cons: The downstairs room was a little loud between the rooms overhead and being right next to the common area. The hosts were great and got us switched to an upstairs room on the 3rd night which was great for us. We would definitely stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Self-made breakfast. It was incredible and every day a little bit different. Homemade pastries, compote, muesli with seeds and nuts, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, toast, fresh scrambled eggs, juice and fruits. Tea, coffee and fruits are free to take also in the afternoon. The room was cosy and clean. The beds were very comfortable. They booked us a shuttle for a hiking tour and gave us good informations about the national park. The staff was very friendly and we felt like home. The beginning of the trekking route to Lago de Torre was next to the hostel. It‘s only ten minutes to the bus station. We loved our holiday in El Chaltèn and the hostel made it perfect.
Cons: There was nothing to complain about.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It's close to the main street and to the main hiking path starting points. Breakfast was great (as well as the box lunches they offer!) and the owners are very helpful and welcoming. Beds were comfy and it was always clean and warm in the room/house.
Cons: It's a bit tricky to find enough space to put the luggage in the room because it is very small but I guess this is due to the structure of the house. The water system is very noisy every time one uses it in the house and water doesn't come through at first but then no problem at all. It is a wood house so you can basically hear everything but most of the travellers keep it quiet since everybody sleeps early to hike the next day so it is not a problem (bring some earplugs anyway!) Suggestion: Maybe one more shelf in the bathroom to put our things?
Destino Sur - El Chaltén - Bedroom
4
9.1 Excellent (541 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in El Chalten, Destino Sur is in a provincial park, a 2-minute drive from Capilla de los Escaladores and 8 minutes from Viedma Lake. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Large comfortable hotel with spacious rooms. The TV remote in my TV wouldn't work even after the staff tried to resolve the issues so they changed my room for me. Very close to a lot of nice cervecerias and restaurants. Two blocks away from the entrance to the Fitz Roy trails.
Cons: A little expensive for what it was but Patagonia is expensive. Daily room cleaning could have been much more thorough although it was satisfactory. 15 min walk to the bus station.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, close to start of Fitz Roy and Laguna Torres tracks. Good breakfast, good restaurant, spa.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was awesome, very close to the mountains and starting point of several trackings. The restaurant behind the hotel (la oveja negra) is amazing! The Spa is nice but you can only book it for 45 minutes a day, which is pretty short for a sauna and some relaxing time in the jacuzzi. Breakfast is great! A lot of things from the breakfast is homemade. Staff is very helpful, they can tell you about trackings in the area, and we could borrow an adapter from the hotel.
Cons: The WiFi is terrible, but this is due to El Chalten, not to the hotel. The rooms are fine and large, but the bathrooms are a little bit outdated. And we’ve had a strange situation in the spa one day; me and my boyfriend booked the spa for 45 minutes. After about 30 minutes, somebody of the staff opened the door without knocking..!! No excuses, just acted like that was completly normal... We felt really uncomfortable...
7.5 Good
Pros: The rooms were spacious and clean.
Cons: The hallway floors were not carpeted (they were wood or a wood composite), so it was very loud and noisy when people were walking in the halls. The staff at the reception desk were not friendly at all and made you feel like you were interrupting their life. They advertise that they have a fitness area with a stationary bike and treadmill, but there was no stationary bike to be found and the treadmill was in the corner in the spa where it was hot and humid.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, clean, great staff and great value
Cons: The bar wasn’t always attended and had to ask for someone to serve but it wasn’t a big deal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful new hotel, large rooms and friendly and helpful staff! Great breakfast and restaurant as well.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good location to start some of the walks
Cons: I did find it a bit warm in the rooms for my taste, but we are all different
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good, the produce was fresh and there was a wide variety of foods to choose from. Dinner at the restaurant was great- they provided a 10% discount for guests.
Cons: Wi-fi was weak. Other than some basic mail work, the WI-FI couldn’t be used for anything much else. Also the cleanliness of the place leaves much to be desired. On the surface, everything looks clean and tidy, but under the bed, there were dust balls! (And that triggered some serious nose allergies!) So obviously cleaning thoroughly is not a regular practice there.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property with comfortable rooms, Spa available for use in 45 minute increments, lovely breakfast, close to the main hiking trails at the end of main street. +luggage storage
Cons: No late check-out available (requested extra hour for a friend who wasn't feeling well)- they remained firm at 10am.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: 45 min spa included per day Very good breakfast Clean rooms Very good shower Included very good mountain bikes

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely fantastic place to stay for your El Chalten adventures. Close to trail starts (towns really small!) and a solid breakfast offering to send you on your way. However, the best part of this property is the staff for sure. The walkthrough of the area and trails when you arrive is superb - the tip about starting Mt Fitz Roy at a different spot than the town was golden.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We loved Andre! She was so friendly, down to earth and helpful with local information. The accommodations are beautiful and in a perfect quiet location for trekking all over El Chalten.
Cons: Our only conplaint was the occasional noise within our room. The walls are fairly thin as we could often here other guests coming and going and talking through the halls.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Super nice and supportive staff. Option to do laundry for reasonable prices. You can buy box lunch to take on a hike!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great and lovely staff. Big room with amazing view, TV with great channels in spanish and english. Great breakfast and coffee :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This location is very close to the start of the trekking. And if you’re a climber, it is just a few steps away from the Crag. Staffs are super friendly and helpful! Breakfast is great and beds are very comfy!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: perfect place to stay in El Chalten.
Cons: The window was not tight so there was wind coming inside the room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were great, helped me with everything I needed, great wifi, was very happy with my stay.
Cons: No noise isolation, just hope noone makes noise in the hall when you want to sleep, but really it's a very common problem.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were really friendly and helpful. The cabin we stated in was very cosy and warm.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ana's hospitality was amazing, she even went the extra effort to lay out breakfast (which is plentiful and delicious) early for us before catching a bus. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the showers strong and hot - everything you need after a long day of hiking. The photos dont do it justice. The location too was perfect, bang in the middle of town and only a 5min walk from the bus station and the start of all the main trails. Would definitely stay here again!! Thank you Ana.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The guesthouse had 3 rooms and a lounge/dining area and was ideal for the bus station - only 200metres away. Ana was a great help with walk ideas and even made an early breakfast for us before departure. Clean and tidy. The adjoining restaurant was excellent - great value food and drinks - really enjoyed and a great trip!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, All very good, they only have 3 rooms, not surprisingly it books out quickly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Anna is a great host. The B&B is a great place to stay. Close to everything, clean, warm, comfortable. My wife is gluten-free and there was food specially for her at breakfast which was great. Nancy who works at the B&B is terrific. Can highly recommend the restaurant attached to the hotel as well.
Cons: Nothing to dislike. It was all good
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really helpful host. Good breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ana was an excellent host. Our room also had a lovely view of Torre Fitz Roy. The property is in the heart of town and they also have an attached bar/restaurant. Ana serves a tasty breakfast with home made bread and cake, and freshly squeezed orange juice. She goes out of her way too accommodate you. She served us breakfast at 7 A.M as we were driving down early to El Calafate.Thank you for a lovely stay Ana.
Cons: Nothing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The view from the breakfast room and comfortable bed.
Cons: Distance from start of walking track to Fitzroy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location in the middle of town, Ana the owner couldn’t do enough for you. Cleanliness was top notch.
Cons: Very small common space, so you’re mainly limited to your room. Small room downstairs doesn’t have a ton of privacy as the main window looks out onto the hallway. Maybe try for the rooms upstairs
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ana (The hostess) was super helpful and friendly. Location is 5 min walk from the bus station. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast very nice - oats, granola, yogurt, bread, cheese... and excellent coffee. Would highly recommend this place if you're lucky enough to get in - there are only 3 rooms and they're booked up months ahead.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Helpful staff. Good value for money. Modest but cosy room
Cons: All good value for money wise.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent, the afternoon tea was a nice touch, and the cleaner (sorry- I can't remember her name) was lovely and friendly. It is a smart, clean and well maintained b&b, very close to the trail heads for all the main hikes in the area.
Cons: The staff were not very warm and we were "hushed" at breakfast for talking! The service was not very personal and the breakfast was bland. A smile, a few eggs and a little fruit would have made the world of difference!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very substantial. Location was great. B and B was cozy. Room had a great view.
Cons: Room number 1 is right next to reception and so was noisy almost all the time, when people came down for breakfast at 6:15am, when people were in the breakfast area for tea between 4 and 7pm and when people came in late in the evening.
7.5 Good
Pros: The view from the breakfast window.
Cons: The staff are a bit cold and remote and doesn't want to offer advice. I guess they don't want to take any responsibilities of poor advice. They keep asking you to go to the tourist office. The breakfast is really basic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quiet place, centrally located, welcoming and helpful staff, good breakfast, comfy beds
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was nice and comfortable. Has a quite and calm atmosphere, with a feeling of a little hotel. Complimentary tea from 5-7 pm for after your hike. Very helpful and pleasant staff. From Room 1, you have a great view on Fitz Roy (for the sunrise, if you are lucky!) Good WiFi.
Cons: The double bed was a bit too small. A little far from the main restaurant area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable beds in a beautiful, clean room. Plenty of space. Nice breakfast. Hot, strong showers. Super friendly staff.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff went out of their way to offer help and small services, like providing a flask of hot water for tea late at night.
Cons: The walls are paper thin, so you hear everything. It does feel a little like you are living in a very confined space and on top of other people. The bed was a bit too soft as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I would give 20 stars if I could. And all of the stars are for the staff of this B and B, who are just stellar. Always friendly and ready to help with hikes and any other information. Gave us great tips on local places to eat and also all the hikes. I really miss you all.
7.5 Good
Pros: verygood
Cons: stairway
8.8 Excellent
Pros: There is free tea in the afternoon. We could take hot water for tea for hiking. We were allowed to leave our backpacks in the hostel once we checked out and picked them up when we returned from our day trip. Good recommendations for dinner.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly fine accommodation for a short stay in El Chalten. Warm rooms heated by radiators and comfortable beds. We shared a bathroom - hot water and bathrooms were always clean. Basic breakfast and pleasant staff. A short walk from all day hiking.
Cons: Wifi was virtually non-existent, but I believe this is common in El Chalten.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice Appartment. We were in a two people Cabin as a couple. Appartment was fully equipped and if something is not working or missing the very friendly women who owns it, helps quickly! I give a ten Rating because she made every day our bed, cleaned up and if wished brought new towels! Me and my girlfriend were very pleased about our stay and we recommand this place in El Chalten very much!
Cons: There was no bigger compliance to make. Probably you here the neighbors when they are a little louder but that is really no problem since you have to make loud noise, and that is something that can disturb in nearly every place!
6.8 Good
Pros: This property has a few buildings that are divided into units with a loft upstairs with a bed(s) and a kitchen, table & chairs and bathroom. It's nice to have your own kitchen (very basics provided; no frying pan) and bathroom. There was good hot water in the shower when they were not running the sprinklers. The location is perfect because you can walk to many of the trailheads. They provided hiking trail information and a magnet when we arrived. There is a store across the street and a laundry service a few blocks away. They cleaned the room daily.
Cons: I booked a double bed for my husband and I but got 2 twin beds; I would not have booked had I known I'd get twin beds. The toilet was really strange and leaked water often. The internet was useless (signal dropped every few seconds). You can hear through the walls and they allowed people to camp right next to our building which created more noise (not too bad for us but depends who is on the side of you).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The cabin was cozy and a perfect place for us to spend the holidays! After spending a few days trekking - the hot shower, full kitchen and beds in the loft were much appreciated! The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The wifi worked, but was slow and intermittent (that seems to be the case for everyone in El Chalten). The location is very close to trailheads and next to a grocery store and restaurants. We would highly recommend this place to friends and other travelers!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Claudia was very nice. The location of the cabanas was perfect: in front of a supermarket, not far from the trails, restaurants and bars all around...The cabanas are well equiped and the shared garden is really pleasant.
Cons: One day, we had troubles to get hot water.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The parking and the location was awesome, walking distance to the park entrance. The lady who welcomed us was speakimg very good English which was so helpful getting help from her, where to go to eat etc. The beds are comfortable, and the accomodation has a really nice vibe.
Cons: Wifi is really bad, and we had problems paying with mastercard, it didn't go through whatever we did. The windows could be non see through.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cute and comfortable cabins. Simple with everything you need and nothing you dont. Claudia the owner is fantasic and friendly. Location is great, real small town so you can walk anywhere.
Cons: No complaints from me.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly host, who also speaks English and recommended great places to eat. Nice location (supermarket across the street and lovely bakery 5min up the road). Kitchen is small but has most things you need.
Cons: The cabin we stayed in (with second level) is not really well designed, there is no place to sit comfortably after a long day‘s hike, and the kitchen table (the only place to eat) is very small. Saw the other cabin type from outside. It looked much better and has a sitting area.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff is great, Gaston will tell you all the tips about the hikes. It's very clean, keep in mind there are mostly hikers staying in El Chalten so you could expect the floors being in dust or mud from the hiking boots - nothing like it, the floors shine like mirrors ;)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cosy and comfortable place to stay. The room and bathroom were very clean. The host very helpful, answering all questions. The breakfast very good. We were allowed to leave our backpacks and have shower after the check out. Definitely recommended!

Pros: Few minutes by foot from the bus station.

Pros: Well located and staff very nice and helpful for hiking recommendations :)
6.8 Good
Pros: The owner is very kind and courteous, and the location is great. That said, El Chalten is very small. No matter where you stay in town, the location will be good.
Cons: I’ll start by stating that we did not address any issues with the owner during our stay. I’m certain had we, that he would have done what he could to accommodate us. That said... my wife and I were quite disappointed overall. After reading so many positive reviews, and even getting an unexpected recommendation from a guide in El Calafate, I was surprised to find such a stark difference between expectation and reality. For starters, our room was clean. But whatever chemical they used to clean the floors left a near intolerable odor throughout our 3 day stay. It seems it was only used in the room, as the rest of the place did not smell odd. The bed was a queen... but turned out to be two singles side by side with a hard divider between them, and a broken spring stabbing me in the back. Hardly “romantic” as our tour guide in Chalten had put it. Luckily there was another single in the room that was a completely different mattress. My wife and I just ended up sleeping on separate beds. The door knobs, bathroom fixtures, shower knobs - everything seemed thrown together with nothing properly fastened. The shower was particularly a pain as the knobs kept falling off. Oh, and the plumbing! Nothing drained properly. We waded in water during even quick 3 minute showers. And even 30 seconds of water in the sink to brush teeth, wash face, etc would leave a sink full that took a solid minute or two to drain before you could continue. To be clear, my wife and I came to Patagonia to hike for our honeymoon. Amongst our travels we came to El Chalten for only three days, and were by no means expecting a five star resort in a little town. But from the reviews we read, we were expecting a notch above a traditional hostel. In the end, we felt Lo de Guille fell short.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, super nice hosts, we loved our stay! Would recommend to friends travelling to El Chalten.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: room is obvious converted from a dorm. but was kept clean.
Cons: skimpy breakfast.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Really great host, we felt very welcomed, got all advise needed for trekking, tips, help. He also organized the transfer to El Pilar for Laguna de Los Tres trek. Really good atmosphere, always fresh pastry from bakery nearby. Trekking poles are free to borrow, also rent other things for mountains. Room was very cosy and warm after rainy days in the mountains. Kitchen avaae throughout the day. We enjoyed the stay a lot.
Cons: It was a bit noisy, I guess the walls are thin. No worries if you have quiet neighbours or earplugs for sleeping.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was a wonderful spot to spend time at while in El Chalten. The breakfast was typical south american fare but with some added goodies (and real orange juice.) The beds were comfortable, showers were excellent and hot. Gaston and his staff work hard to try and make things really great for the customers. Gaston is exactly what anyone wants to see out of a business owner, just a good guy working hard running an honest business. He regularly seems to go above and beyond for his customers.
Cons: Unfortunately for me it seems to be often fully booked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is delightful. All the rooms have simple beds, the sheets were clean and were changed after 3 nights of stay (I stayed 6 nights). The bathrooms are also very clean. I was given a towel and shampoo (which is not common in all hostels!). The breakfast is filled with fruits, coffee & tea, integral break, cakes and marmelade. The kitchen was full of amenities to cook and eat properly. Most of all, the owner is the nicest : he gives advices about all you need and is always smiling.

Pros: The staff was great, particularly Julietta and Santiago. Julietta had lots of very useful information regarding the hiking trails and Santiago was very helpful in helping us plan some of the logistics of our travel. We were only planning on staying two nights but extended to three nights. Great location in the town center any only three blocks from the bus station. Breakfast was great. Loved our room with the balcony and seeing a view of the mountains and town.

Pros: Everything. Julietta was a gem. She booked our shuttle to the trailhead. Double check that we were equipped for our long hike. Ordered box lunches for us. Continental breakfast had lots of choices of food. Room had fabulous balcony with views of Fitz Roy. Perfect 2 day experience in El Chalten.
Cons: Norhing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Chalten Suites is one of the nicest hotels in El Chalten (probably the nicest by appearance, however, has less amenities some have a like spa or hot tub). Our room was brand new in new wing of the hotel. It was comfortable. The guy who checked us in was really helpful and shared information on hikes without even being asked. He helped us prioritize our hiking days based on the weather (mainly cloudy cover) and the most significant hikes. They setup a taxi for us to retrieve our car from trailhead (El Pilar) after a through hike. We ordered a packed lunch on two of our three days there and it was the best packed lunch we had on our trip (including Torres del Paine Circuit and El Calafate). They had a laundry service that charged 250 peso ($7) for around 5 liter bag (as much as fits in the bag).
Cons: I had a few minor issues with the hotel including the restaurant, evening construction noise and room not offering same views as all the others in the hotel. My biggest issue was slow dinner service particularly getting the check. I waited for 30-40 minutes for check. I found this frustrating after arriving around 8pm from challenging travel day (Christmas day) and thinking of skipping dinner. Our goal (similar to many hikers) was to get up as early as possible while getting 8 hours sleep. We wanted to get the best light on the mountains for our photographs, which is in the morning before the sun crosses the mountains. We ended up going to sleep after 11pm and hearing doors in our hall being opened and closed by a tour group around 6 am (not unexpected for hikers). When we went down stairs to pickup our packed lunch it was not prepared (or possibly mixed with tour group). They did manage to make it quickly in about 5-10 minutes. All these things added up to me wishing we skipped dinner due to late start the next morning and not getting enough sleep. The next two mornings where quieter and people got up later (probably because no tour group). Another issue was the hotel’s south wing (which we stayed in) was still under construction when we stayed there. We could hear construction noise on the floor below us until around 7 pm, which was a minor inconvenience. In terms of rooms I thought ours was nice, however, I didn’t like how our end unit (if I remember correctly rooms 308, 208, 108) did not have a view of Fitz Roy well all the other rooms did. This matters in the morning when you wanted to check out if there is a sunrise you want to get up to see. Instead I had to get dressed and walk down to the dinning area to check the sunrise and it made it harder to go back to sleep when it was cloudy. I fell like these rooms do not measure up to the rest of the hotel’s rooms and should not have been squeezed into the end of the building.

Pros: Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Common areas were very well taken care of and clean. Good breakfast (not the coffee). Location to hikes was ideal.
Cons: We were put in a room (9) on the main floor and it was quite noisy, since it is directly beside the dining area. The toilet did not accept toilet paper, so they request you put the paper in a garbage bin. Our bin was not emptied.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very sweet place, cosy room

8.8 Excellent
Pros: We loved the view of Fitz Roy from the back window! The location was excellent. We felt it was a good value for the high quality experience. The staff was helpful with booking transportation to different places nearby and giving us recommendations!
Cons: Our only issue with this hotel was the noise level when people are walking around at all. We were on the bottom floor and could hear every step taken outside our door and especially above us. I had to put in my headphones every morning starting around 6 am when people started waking up, but once I did that I slept fine!

Pros: The receptionist was really helpful on the walking route information which made it super easy for us to explore by ourselves.
Cons: The waitresses and food in the 24 hour café wasn't great. The hostel was fine, but would recommend eating elsewhere. Serving staff were a bit miserable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay in Rancho Grande. Location is perfect - just 1 minute by foot to the entrance for the famous Laguna the Los Trek, which was the most breathtaking trek I had in my life. 24h restaurant in the hostel is super convenient after a long trek - also a great advantage. Staff in the hostel is really friendly and extremely helpful. They told us about an amazing lake near Laguna de los tres, better trek from Laguna Torre, booked bus tickets for us, let us leave our luggage for several hours in the reception! They speak English perfectly well which is not common in Argentina. Hostel was also very clean. We were amazed when our room was cleaned every day - like in a good hotel! Wifi connection is very good as for Patagonia. We highly recommend this place!
Cons: Nothing, we enjoyed everything

10.0 Excellent
Pros: excellent accommodation and excellent staff. in the heart of the town walking distance from the supermarket and restaurants. the breakfast was good with many options. I came down with a flu and the staff accommodated all my needs and were very helpful
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice quiet room, staff friendly and helpful, close to walks.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was great and staff were friendly.
Cons: Wifi was working quite badly in our room which normally wouldn't have been a big deal, except that my husband had to get some urgent work done and so that made it difficult. Also the hotel grossly overcharged for their lunch box set - I understand that hotels will charge a premium for the convenience, but USD 16 for a very basic ham and cheese sandwich with an apple and a snack bar is very expensive for El Chalten. I would advise to buy food from shops outside the hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very cosy I loved the fireplace in the common area
Cons: wifi was a bit tricky at times but hey, we are in the mountains!
