staff and facilities were very good
we had a very pleasant stay at the hotel, staff were so polite and friendly and also helpful, very relaxing setting on the golf course, i would stay again, the price was very reasonable.
Very pleasant reception staff and a nice quiet room
the leisure centre, the food, the friendly staff the comfort and easygoing feel of the hotel
Good food, nice room, pleasant staff
Commitment of staff, space, rural setting.
The staff are excellent. Very friendly & helpful.Very cheap considering the facilities. Whole hotel could do with being re-decorated. Water in shower wasn't warm enough
Friendly staff at Reception. Excellent breakfast. Complimentary newspaper. The bathroom extractor not working
The foyer and the bedroom were both very up market, very modern and spotlessly clean.
The swimming pool facilites and the staff in the resturant were excellent, as was the general manger who helped us out when we needed a set of jump leads to start a car. The room we stayed in on the first night was very damp. The smell was unberable but our daughter was sleeping and we did not want to move rooms. We moved the next night to another room and the ironing board fell off the wall. Other than that it we had a plesant stay.
Frindlyness of staff it was lovely That I couldent stay longer
The buffet breakfast was really good. The room and fittings were dated and are in need of refurb. Public areas and restaurant are better.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and good value for money. There was no hot water late at night for a shower which was disappointing. Bathroom decor looked very dated.
It was fine. The desk clerk acted like she didn't like to work. Gave a rather negative feel to what was otherwise a fine visit. Inside the hotel is a maze getting to rooms. We finally brought our luggage in through a fire door since it would have been a real pain to follow the complicated trail and stairs to our room.
lovely hotel, easy location in to town (need to get taxi but there only 7 euro) realy nice staff, not packed, realy realy clean room and bathrooms. pool and spa lovley nice and modern. very dated rooms esp bathroom (70's brown and cream tiles), food not great-but for 20euro a night we didnt realy mind!!
Friendly staff and comfort
Simple but very well kept room with all the necessary requirements. Very tidy and well kept hotel with a very nice pub attached. Free wifi. Massive car park. Very confusing layout to the rooms as it took us a good 15-20 minutes to actually locate our room. Tried to go for a meal at the restaurant but it was closed for some reason. Probably a bit far out of town to be convenient (about half an hours walk from Ennis town centre).
Nice hotel with good bar and decent breakfast. Very good value for money. The only complaint I could have was a slight stale odour in my bedroom which wasn't helped by the lack of extractor fan in the ensuite bathroom.
Friendly and welcoming staff and great facilities. It was maybe a bit further from the town centre than I would have liked.
location to city of Ennis, helpful employees, food (except breakfast) and parking It was not easy for older people to move about the hotel. Had to walk long distance to room and had to use steps to different levels.
Dinner in the pub was really. We had a lovely view of cathedral from our room. View of air handling units on roof. Three drunk ladies in lobby at 7am.
ease of check in/out. Room was well equipped, although I couldn't get the coffee machine to work!
No hairdryer. Two different kinds of shampoo provided but not conditioner.
Helpful staff, beautiful room and great location. The breakfast wasn't the best and service was VERY slow.
I liked the central location and the availability of car parking Booking.com confirmed booking, but the hotel had no reservation
Ease of check in/out, central location, onsite parking, all round nice hotel.
Location and size of the bedroom Lack of leisure centre but I was aware of this before I arrived so not a complaint more an observation
Generally a very good atmosphere the staff at the ajoining pub were exceptionally responsive and efficient and coped well when very busy The corridors outside the rooms needed more ventilation as they sometime almost smelt of cigarette smoke!
Very central with lovely front desk staff and nice bar staff
A little worn around the edges in the public areas - but still a great hotel to stay over before returning to the U.S. from Shannon. Our room had been refurbished and was modern, clean and up to date. Location was great. Free parking a bonus as well. They didn't have my rate correct when I checked in - assured that would be correct when I checked out. But, it was still not right - although it was fixed without a problem on departure.
They upgrade our room for no extra charge as they were quiet
All the staff where very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was great. None
The staff were always helpful and friendly. Door being locked after 12.30. We were not warned about this as part of the check in process, so were bewildered to find ourselves locked out the first night, and did not realise at first that we needed to ring the bell on the car park entrance to be let in. I understand the reasons for this, but it should be fully explained to guests when checking in.
Excellent room, Excellant food, great location N/A
staff very helpful facilities were very good. location excellent for town centre
Everything and everyone was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff where all very friendly and made us feel very welcome. None
Peace and Quiet n/a
Breakfast selection could have been better
Right bang in the middle of town,no need for taxis, great weekend! had to dance about in the shower to get wet lol!
Location The church bells in the morning!
The location was great. You could walk to restaurants and shops. The staff at the restaurant was great!! They were very friendly and helpful!! The room was very small and the bathroom had mold on the walls!! We also had a room on the first floor by the front door so very little privacy.
Clean, well appointed rooms
We attended a wedding where both staff and food were superb
The staff are more that helpful and very good at what they do. The rooms are very good and comfortable. Leisure facilities were first class and clean.
The warm welcome and service offered by staff A bit too cold in the lobby
the rooms where not very sound proof, and due to a group of loud teenagers sleep was minimal.
The friendliness of the staff and th customers led to a weekend that was very homely and cosy no faults from us
the shower wasn't very clean and the guy at check-in didn't tell us when breakfast was or that it was included in the room rate so that was a little confusing the next morning and the food wasn't very good.
breakfast gorgeous! booked into the pine room restaurant at 6.30 in evening we were so hungry. we were first in and it had only opened so we were expecting lovely fresh hot food, instead we got barely warm veg and mash., steak was bone dry obviously not freshly cooked and the sauce was barely warm too. soup was supposed to have croutons and fresh cream in it but had neither. I was disappointed with that. the meal cost a lot for such poor food. Having said that the breakfast the next morning was just delicious.
The Lynch West is a lovely hotel, very friendly staff and very homely atmosphere no
accessability-on main road, good parking, a-la-carte menu in grill room, buffet breakfast, value for maney, selection of local activities available. We only stayed one night so couldn't find anything to dislike.
its a busy hotel so if you are looking for a quiet life this is not one for you. However its excllent as a location to visit the cliffs of moher etc not really
good value for money. Excellent leisure centre attached. Internet access from the room was free and worked consistently disorganised especially at some breakfast times. I paid in advance and it was charged to my credit card but they claim they didn't receive the payment and wanted to charge me again. Luckily, I had kept the credit card statement, which I have sent to them to try to resolve the problem
style, friendly, and would stay againwhen in Ennis.
friendliness, convenience, ambience.
Nothing Dis not like the location, web site is mis leading. Hotel was noisy, 3 other people in our party all had same issue. People outside at night and also load in their rooms. No clocks, or Coffee/Tea available in the morning.
The restaurant was nice. The room which i was stayin in was very small, with a double bed which was two single beds put together (not comfortable at all). There were stains in the bed sheets that obviously couldnt be washed out, but nevertheless shoud not have been used.House keeping called at 9 am,checkout was not until 12.
friendly staff no tea-maker in room
Quality breakfast and quality room. A particularly pleasant and helpful manager. The large television onthe wall of the breakfast room and above ourtable, showing an Australian soap and then a Jerry Springer yype show on tranvestites
Everything Lack of signposting, people do not seem to be aware of this hotel.
The internet connection was desperate and I need that for my email
It was so great to be able to walk directly from airport arrivals to my hotel after a long stressful day. Vice Versa in the morning - I checked my bag in for departure and then went back to the hotel to grab breakfast. The hotel was very clean, with updated bathrooms, the staff were responsive and pleasant. Would highly recommend for airport users.
The restaurant and food were excellent The shower head fell off while showering. The maintenance man had to come up while we were half naked. The beds were very small - 2 singles in my room. The hotel had no service staff - no one to help you to you room with your bags. We were charged top dollar for the room and when we complained to Management, we were told they would call back the next day but never did. We are still waiting on a partial credit for the room and it doesn't seem like its going to happen. Management did not seem willing to help at all - they kept saying it would go into their "report". That report didn't help us in any way. This hotel is supposed to be a teaching hotel. Shame on them.
Convenient to airport and did not hear any planes. Staff was very helpful with luggage
Location for flying out of Shannon Bit dated and worn
I found the on-site restaurants disappointing since it's a restaurant hospitality school as well as a hotel. The service was amazingly slow and the food bland and tastes although presentation was quite nice
Short 5 min walk from airport Excellent room service Rainfall shower Comfortable bed Excellent staff No thermostat
ease of check in, food service, staff, proximity to airport, clean room NOTHING
Superb staff, very helpful. Hotel is very clean.
Great breakfast and Staff Internet (Wifi) didn't reach all rooms.
The staff were wonderful. Breakfast was great! Fantastic location, beautiful property... and we wished we had booked a longer stay!
Very clean and comfortable room with spacious bed and beautiful view of the River Fergus. The staff were very helpful, always asking if we needed anything. Very convenient to town and to the Shannon Airport.
Restaurant staff particularly friendly and helpful
Pleasant staff and great location in centre of Ennis Hotel rooms looking a little tired now but hey, it's still a pleasant place to lay your head.
The room was good, the location excellent, the staff friendly and the breakfast first class. The household staff cleared the room before we had checked out. As a result, we lost a number of minor items. This probably happened because I paid early in the morning and left on business. However, I made it clear to reception that my wife would continue to use the room until checkout time of 12.00pm. The hotel has no parking and parking in the vicinity is not easy and during the day, is relatively expensive.
Its central location and its friendly staff are this hotels only asset The Queens Hotel is very old and as a result smells like a pair of old dirty socks. Perhaps the younger generation are less fussy than i but i can guarantee never to stay there again.
Location its a bit dated
The food and location Our Room at the front was very noisy
They upgraded me to a very ice room on the third floor with a great view of the town. I really enjoyed my time in Ennis.
my room plus the food was very good i thought the staff were very poor
relaxed, basic, location no smoking rooms , parking difficult, plumbing outdated.
This B&B was perfect for us. The owners, Sheelagh and Domhnall Lynch were absolutely the best. Lots of knowledge and excellent help in planning our daily trips.
Not much 1. They claimed they were in transition to a new telephone system that caused a busy signal when calling 2. The address was obscure, therefore hard to find 3. On a fairly busy street 4. When checking out, their 'swiper' did not work -- had to pay c
The location was perfect~ Bunratty Castle next door and JP Clarke's, a great pub, in walking distance. And we had a quick 15 minute drive to Shannon Airport in the morning. Our room was at the end of a VERY long hall with a view into a junky lot. And it was noisy quite late. Staff was not very welcoming~ they seemed tired. We had been spoiled by two weeks of B&B stays and were a bit disappointed. Value for the money was good and it was a perfectly safe and clean place to spend our last night in Ireland.
setting was nice...could walk to surrounding places, things to do. rooms weren't ready when we got there which was fine because we walked around but then when we came back a bus load had come in checking in and we then had quite a wait.
everything! Nothing. It was a great facility. Terrific for adjusting to jet lag or for a nice , comfortable stay on night before returning home
Late night bar. my wife loved the Spa. she wanted massage and treatment but your place had no slot too fit her in.
The really early check-in after a transatlantic flight. Its a beautiful hotel in a beautiful part of the world.
Nice hotel and we were especially grateful after attending the medieval castle banquet that we had a short walk to get back to the hotel.
location, convenience to shopping and comfort getting wash cloths and the smoking room availability
size of room nothing
Location was important during my visit door on left on entering corridor to rooms should be kept closed, smell of cleaning materials and appearance takes from overall impression
Hotel was very conveniently located for walking to the castle. The first room we were given was above the pool, and had a rhythmic thumping noise from the pump well into the night. Around 10 pm, we transferred to another room which was quieter, but lower in quality. The second room had a castle view in the distance over the HVAC machinery on the ground floor roof. The whole hotel could use improved maintenance, and you would expect a better room from the start in the low season (Nov) when there are few guests.
Situation, staff, views Its an old building so for some reason closing of doors of other rooms was very noisy
Was a superb hotel, excellent service all round. Very close to the Castle and Folk Park. Great value for money, would recommend to anyone!
The guest house was great. I was immediately greeted by name upon arrival and given a spacious room with a fantastic bathroom. Additionally, as I had an early flight out of Shannon the owner offered to serve me breakfast an hour earlier than normal. The guest house is in immaculate condition and I would highly recommend it to any type of traveler. Its location - less than 5 minutes from Bunratty castle is an added bonus!
Pleasant owners who tried to accommodate our needs. Because the weather was unusually cold the room did not feel warm enough even when the heating was on.
The staff was very nice. The place was peaceful and homely
we arrived late off of a flight and we were made feel so welcome by the owner, nothing was too much trouble,we had to leave early in the morning but before we left we had the most wonderfull freshly cooked breakfast followed by fresh out of the oven scones butter and jam, while we got ourselves ready the owner was outside defrosting our car, the most wonderfull service we have ever had and if we are back that way again thats where we will be staying. nothing i didnt like about this hotel
We liked the location and the friendly hedlpful people who run the guesthouse. Enjoyble stay.
Location is very convenient to the Bunratty Castle and Folk experience, and a 10 minute straight ride to the Shannon airport. Hosts were great, breakfast was the best we had in Ireland, house is lovely. Not a thing
it was very peaceful, nice hosts, would go there again to have night away, excellent breakfast. none
This was our last night in Ireland. We couldn't of picked a better place. Very clean and nice. The owner was a Wounderful man. I would stay there again
Myself and a friend stopped in this Guest house the weekend of 26th November 2010, I had booked a Twin room but on arrival we were shown to a room with seperate double bedrooms with a bathroom, the overhaul stay was excellent and i would have great pleasure in stopping again nothing
hot and good pressure shower
Good central location and good price. Arrived after 10pm and door was locked so had to phone for owner to open up which caused a bit of concern.
Hotel was very Central in Ennis. It was Clean and the Bed was a welcome after all the driving around looking at the local attractions. The lady we met for Check in was very nice and pointed out a few local places of interest too.
Town centre position. Nice room. Bed to short..barely 6 feet, I'm 6 feet 2 inches. Breakfast hostess not v friendly.
Central. Basic but clean and good value decor a little old fashioned and dark
Very comfortable, large room in an exceptionally good location
the location was excellent. Room spacious with two beds. Breakfast and check out too early. Room a bit cold.
The family who own Banner Lodge are very good hosts and nothing is too much for them. They really made me feel welcome and I enjoyed my stay tremendously. I was over there to attend my niece's wedding who also happens to be my god daughter. I would strongly recommend this guest house to anyone who doesn't need a car for getting around as there's no where to park except for a meter. There is free poarking in the surrounding roads they may be able to use for short periods. It's very convenient for the local shops and is reasonably priced. It's good value. The bus and train station is not far away and the Cathedral is near by.The Guest House was very clean and the room was comfortable. There are tea and coffee making facilities on the premises not in the bedrooms. I didn't notice any.
the friendly atmosphere
It was convenient to airport and the guy that checked us in at 11 o'clock at night was very helpful and polite
The bed was very comfortable Non Irish at the reception desk is not appropriate
Hotel, Bar and Restaurant are ran as separate business, would be much easier for customers if you did not have to pay for each separately.
the staff were very helpful food was very nice we would to eat some nice traditional food there was nothing wrong with the Chinesefood but it would be nice to have a little more irish but it is a great hotel for reaching the airport and thanks for letting us leave our car while we went on holidaysMichael and Breda Lynam
Perfect for a stay when flying from shannon airport Nothing
Location to Shannon Airport.
Fine location, very convenient to the airport, relatively comfortable bed, nice shower No breakfast included for the price
Wi-Fi did not work during our stay (could log in but no ability beyond that - I heard another customer at the front desk showing the problem on their tablet (i.e. it was a hotel problem) but it was never fixed for them or for us. With no international phone coverage on my mobile, Wi-Fi as promised would have been helpful.
Cheap accomodation The hotel advertised that it had a swimming pool and when we arrived we found that the pool was actually in another hotel, very dissapointed and were left with bored child
Close to airport. Excellent chinese resturaunt
everyone very friendly. only criticism is having the one style of resturant - i was only there two nights - is it chinese every night? if so and stayed longer then would have to eat elsewhere see above
Cheap & cheerful
i liked its location, easy access with no curfew, laid back attitude and pleasant and helpful staff. i also found the room to be spacious and comfortable. Finally the restaurant was awesome with really great food. not really, although we could have done with more towels in our room and its a shame the breakfast times were not more flexible.
Open 24/7, big room, big bathroom and very quiet! We didn't realize that breakfast was only til 9.30....our fault....but the kitchen was supposed to close only at 10.30 for cleaning, leaving an hour to self-cater...but the young lady in charge of cleaning was very energetic.....not quite so welcoming:(
Friendly staff. It's a new building with a nice restaurant next door where you get a 10% discount if staying at the hostel. Clean and with the option of cooking your own meals I'll be back!!!!
Very helpful and friendly reception staff, nice room and great location.
Clean Rooms, en-suite facilities
a little bit noisy when people came back at night, but it was over xmas so that might have something to do with it
Free access to internet and staff allowed use ot phone twice when our mobile couldnt connect. Much appreciated. Restaurant good food and service. Central location great Only tea toast for breaky. Would have liked cereal too
This is a hostel with a rather institutionalised feel. Think student hall of residence on a budget. The room was clean and the bed comfortable enough, but if you are looking for any inclination toward luxury, you won't find it here. Most of the clientele were student age. Friendly and helpful staff. Fine for what it aims to be Very barely furnished, thin towels, minimum facilities and breakfast. Not that cheap when you take these things into account - eg you'll need to add the cost of a proper breakfast. If you want any extras, (shampoo, adapter, for example) - there's a price list in the bathroom.
lovely location. The cafe bar next door was great. The staff were all very friendly and security at night was excellent. The dining room and kitchen was very handy to make up a meal especially as the restaurants in the town are so expensive. Our room smelled very smokey so we had to have the windows open throughout our stay. The beds were very hard but overall for the price the hostel is very good value and we would definately stay there again.
There seems to be a rich history here, but little that I saw to tell about it. Stay waa fine, close to Shannon airport. -
We have always found the hotel excellant, from our perspective it supplies good facilities close to airport and is an ideal way to start our holidays in Ireland. No.
It was cute, & quaint. Loved the antique pieces around the public areas. Was close to airport, which was our main need, as our flight was very early. Staff was great! Very helpful for our very short stay. Bathroom needed more space for our stuff. We could have used more hangers for our clothes. Shuttle service to the airport would have been Great!
Very clean hotel with spacious rooms and friendly staff. Fresh brewed real coffee which is hard to find in Ireland. 2 minute drive to Shannon Airport
How close yet quiet it was to the Shannon airport. And the front desk staff was extrememly helpful in getting info to us, and even helped me make a resevation for when I'd be back in the area; but at another motel as Oakwood arms was completely booked. The girls that were the most help were May nad Lisa. Some of the mattresses and pillows were very hard!!!
The food was great and it was quiet Everything was fine
Lobby areas are nice Decor was quite dated and the beds were very uncomfortable for the price.
Our waitress was charming. The old aviation adverts displayed in the corridors were interesting. It has a thinner than usual veneer of quality: no porter was offered for our cases; breakfast fruit was tinned, there was no yoghurt; dinner waitress didn't know how to serve a bottle of wine; and so on. More akin to an average B&B than a hotel.
