The Essex Culinary Resort and Spa, established in 1989 and newly renovated in the summer of 2018, is a Vermont resort experience second to none. Located on 18 acres of Vermont countryside it is a pet-friendly resort conveniently located within minutes of downtown Essex, Burlington International Airport, the Champlain Market Place, Centennial Field, local parks, museums, and Lake Champlain.
Each guest room features décor that is inspired by the textures and colors of food based on 3 different themes: The Harvest, The Art of Baking, and Spice Rack. All rooms and suites include free Wi-Fi, Keurig coffee makers with Green Mountain coffee, 40” TV’s, bathrooms with bathrobes and hand-made Vermont soaps, and an iHome dock.
In addition to the 2 restaurants located on site where guests can take chef-led cooking classes, The Essex Culinary Resort and Spa offers a full service beauty salon and spa, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, numerous guided tours of the area and six Har-Tru clay tennis courts where guests can not only play tennis but also take lessons and attend summer tennis camps.
Adjacent to the Essex is The Links at Lang Farm, an 18-hole golf course featuring a practice facility, practice bunker, two putting and chipping greens and a complimentary golf shuttle to and from the course as well as pre-arranged tee times and golf lessons through the hotel's concierge.
With its cuisine inspired design, on-site restaurants, full service spa, and numerous amenities combined with its convenient location within minutes of downtown Essex and all of the activities that the city has to offer, including dog sled rides in the winter, The Essex is an excellent choice for couples, families and business travelers alike.

Pros (+) Very nice amenities and landscapes, super friendly staff, two great restaurants on site. Nice room, nice spa services and easy 30 min drive to Burlington.
Cons (-) Didn't love the location. It's not in a charming area really - you get off the road to Essex and then it feels like an industrial zone. As you pull in the Essex, you feel like you're in an oasis, but because the surroundings are unappealing, you're limited to whatever is on-site.
